Alex and Anne wandered the halls together, both looking extremely bummed out by something. Anne let out a sigh and tossed a rubber ball on the ground, causing it to bounce back up into the air for her to catch it.
"This is kinda lame," she mumbled, "Natt's usually a lot better at finding me than this."
"Yeah, Ah gotta be honest," Alex answered, "Ah expected more excitement when ya invited me to play hide and seek with ya two."
"It usually is more exciting, but he must be looking in the wrong spots."
"Maybe he feels bad for catching you too easily most of the time so he's trying to let you stay hidden for a while?"
"No, I told him not to do that. I hate it when people do that."
"Beats me, then. Oh! But we could ask Thomas to play!"
"Thomas? Oh yeah, you guys are like best friends, right?"
"Sure are! Two peas in a pod us two! He's probably in his room, Ah'll get him!"
The two ran happily to Thomas' room, knocking on the door extremely loud and quickly, hoping for a speedy answer. They could here a lot of shuffling noises coming from the room before he finally came to the door. He looked tired as he just put his glasses on, bags appearing under his eyes.
"Oh, hey," he answered them with a yawn, "You two need something?"
"Yeah, yeah!" Anne chirped, "We need someone to play hide and seek with!"
"Hide and seek?"
"Yep!" Alex continued, "Natt was s'posed to play with us, but he went and got himself lost or something! Can you just try to find us?"
"Uh, I guess I could do that, yeah."
"Great!" Anne forcibly high fived the boy. "Our starting room is the cafeteria, let's go now!"
"Right now?"
"You bet!"
Alex quickly grabbed Thomas by the hand, pulling him forward from his room and causing his contact case to fall from his pocket behind him. He tried to reach for it, but Alex tugged him along too quickly, and he was soon across the hall, leaving the case on the ground. His forehead grew red with what some might've mistook for embarrassment if they just glanced at him, though it was pure irritation and anger.
"I'm letting these two drag me along for a stupid game?" he thought to himself, "Very well, but I need to find a break in it to grab that case, lest someone discovers something that they shouldn't be looking at. Just a press of that button will ruin everything for me. Perhaps if they pressed it and not watched where there hand was, I would get some sort of a point across. Heheh, you are too funny, Thomas. Too funny."
He couldn't help but let out a small laugh, which he quickly hushed.
"What was that?" Alex asked.
"Nothing...just so excited to play with you guys!"
Alex smiled back at his friend before turning ahead again, leaving Thomas with a somewhat perverse smile of his own.
