A/N – The next couple of chapters are going to be memories of Fuiasu's. I've gotten more caught up in Toga and Fuiasu than I intended to but I can't seem to help myself. We'll get to Sess and Gome cuteness in a bit. ^_^
Her stare blank, Fuiasu lost herself in the trance. It was becoming easier to keep her face empty when such a thing happened, to keep her reactions to herself at a time when her body was out of her control. If the court thought her cold because she had learned to adopt that mask at all times, so be it. She did not care for them anyway.
Distantly, much more focused on the vision than on what was happening around her, she heard her mother attempting to lead her through it, trying to garner information when they knew she would not willingly give it. In the vision, her father's top spy divulged information to a man her father considered their enemy. Right now, that information would damage the Western Lands but later….later it would greatly benefit her lands.
As she came out of it, the young hime resigned herself to the confrontation only moments away and prepared herself to go to the place in her mind she could not be reached. Already she could feel the iron clad grip of her mother holding onto her wrist. Absently she wondered if the bone would be snapped again.
"What did you see?" demanded the Inu demoness, deep orange eyes narrowed and dark.
"Something that will benefit the lands when I rule," she said quietly, looking over her mother's shoulder after only fleetingly meeting her father's eyes. As a child, she remembered him as strong, and caring. Now, he stood quietly by his mate's side and did not intervene. "You know I cannot tell you more than that."
The Western Lady pulled her daughter closer, tightening her grip on the girl's wrist and was pleased when she saw the spasm of pain flash through those disgusting citrine eyes. "Answer my question," she snarled.
