Saving the World

Aang opened his eyes to the ethereal hue of the spirit world.

"Hello, Avatar Roku," Aang said sadly. He was ashamed of his struggle to fulfill his obligation as the Avatar. His past lives were the ones who saved him and Appa in the South Sea all those years ago. Roku smiled sympathetically.

"Don't worry, young Airbender. You are not the first Avatar to fail nor will you be the last. Each of your incarnations has a story they would much rather not tell. Our imperfections are what still connects us to the human world though we embody spirit." He said easily. Aang sighed.

"I don't know what to do about fighting the Fire Lord anymore. I used to be so sure but now…" he began. Roku's eyebrows raised curiously and he smiled.

"Hmmm. I think it may be time for you to know the other Avatars. Listen to their wisdom and judge righteously. You will know what you have to do soon enough." He said. Aang nodded and closed his eyes waiting for his next incarnation to appear.

Back on Ember Island, Zuko and the others made the decision to go on without Aang. They no longer had the time to wait. Sozin's comet was now only a week away. They had to band with others who could give them direction on how to stop the Fire Nation from destroying the world.

Zuko recommended someone who could help them find his uncle. They packed up on Appa and made their way to the Earth Kingdom to see a feisty little bounty hunter named June.

"Well, I'm glad to see you and your girlfriend made up. You make a cute couple." She teased. Zuko blushed in embarrassment remembering how he used June to track Aang with Katara's necklace. Katara smirked and gave June a wink and Zuko's hand a gentle squeeze.

June told them she needed an object of the person they were looking to find. No one dared ask Zuko why he had his uncle's disgusting sandal in his belongings, but it was just the thing June's shirshu Nyla needed to get on the trail and lead them to the Dragon of the West or as June called him Uncle Creepy.

In a matter of hours, the gaang followed Nyla to the outskirts of the once Impenetrable City of Ba Sing Se. Tents were set up with the banners of the White Lotus flying high in the breeze. As Appa landed, they were suddenly surrounded by their sifus and friends: King Bumi of Omashu, Master Pakku, Master Jeong Jeong, and Master Piandao.

"It seems destiny has brought us all together once again for a final stand to save our world." Pakku declared. The teens smiled and bowed to their elders. Zuko bowed respectfully to the four masters and asked nervously, "Is my Uncle here? I really need to speak with him."
