-Chapter Forty-Nine: The Funeral-

Rosa found the funeral boring. She was getting more and more used to Jake and Amy dating. It had been almost 2 months since he had ended things with her.

Since losing Jake, she had suffered a serious increase in the time she was forced to spend more time with Boyle which she found testing.

Jake and Amy spend all day trying to fight for his relationship with Amy, Rosa looked on them. She could see how Jake acted with Amy. How he spoke to her. How he looked at Amy. Sure, he acted like that around her, went they were alone.

That evening, Rosa watched Jake make the speech on stage, which was so obviously aimed at Amy. She watched them disappear off out the bar. Rosa went over to talk to Boyle and Gina.

Once Boyle walked off, and Gina went to dance with some uniforms. Rosa dismissed herself and went home.

She walked past Amy and Jake coming out the precinct as she walked out. She saw them holding hands.

They said hello, as they passed, but Rosa knew better than to interrupt them. She walked home, and closed the door.

Once inside, she finally stopped and thought. She had moved on to the part where she blamed herself for them getting together in the first place.

Back when they had their bet, almost 2 years ago, she had given Jake the prostitution case. If she hadn't, they would not have gone on that date. She would have torched the car, and he would have, if anything, despised her more.

If she had told him that she loved him sooner, she may have been able to make something happen between them. He admitted that he had loved her from when he first met her. She was angry at herself for not talking to him sooner.

She was pissed that all those years ago, she had suggested that they don't tell anyone. Why keep it a secret? If they were open, Amy never would have gotten with him.

She blamed herself, for letting him go.
