"Would the two of you quit it? Alright, this is not the way I want all of your hands on my body." Elena whines from her spot on the bed as Klaus and Kol continue fussing over her.

Klaus pulls away with narrowed eyes, "You almost bled out last night." He states in a stern voice.

"Almost, being the key word there, love muffin." She winks playfully as Jeremy enters the room, holding several bags.

"Alright, we have Mx. Bamboo, SpongeBob, and Johnny Cash." Jeremy sets the bags down on the bed and tossed the stuffed panda to Elena, making her hug it tightly.

"What's all this?" Kol asks as Jeremy sits next to Elena.

"She likes to listen to Johnny Cash when she's sick." Jeremy informs, holding up a CD.

"His voice soothes me." She inserts, wrapping an arm around her aching stomach.

"And watch SpongeBob when she's stoned." He continues as she sends him a thumbs up.

"She's not stoned." Klaus points out, making her smile.

"Not yet." She responds, pulling a joint from the nightstand drawer and bringing it to her mouth before Klaus snatches it from her hand with a disapproving look, making her whine and look to Jeremy with a pleading look.

"Guys, can you give us a minute?" Jeremy asks, causing the brothers to nod and leave the room.

"Uh oh, I know that look." Elena says, reaching over and rubbing the wrinkle in between his eyebrows after he makes himself comfortable next to her.

"What are we gonna do?" He asks with urgency, dropping the false calm demeanor he's had since the night before.

"Get high and watch SpongeBob." She replies with mock confusion, making him glare at her.

"You know that's not what I mean. What's gonna happen?" He asks as she falls back against the bed with a huff.

"I wanna be cremated." She says after a moment of silence, making him look to her with an open mouth.

"What?" He asks with anger as she looks at him.

"Yeah. Did you know the earth is littered with more corpses than there are living people?" She asks as he continues staring in anger.

"You can't be serious!" He exclaims loudly as she nods.

"It's true-"

"Not that!" He cuts her off. "Why are you being so calm about this? You can't die, Ellie. We talked about this." He stands and begins as she sits up and watches him. "Are you in denial or something? How can you not care what happens to you? Or me?" He continues ranting.

"There's nothing we can do, Rem. Might as well not tip toe around it. And you'll be fine, Klaus is gonna take care of you and Jenna and he even promised to give you art lessons." She adds with excitement as he stares at her in confusion. "I know this isn't ideal, but you know, positively and all that."

"What the fuck is wrong with you!?" He shouts as her eyes widen and jaw drops. "You're dying. You are going to die! We need to do something. So stop acting like a child and use that future knowledge to fix this." He orders, making her laugh with shock.

"Wow. When did your balls drop?" She says through a laugh as he groans. "Can you sit, please? The pacing is making me nervous." She grabs his arm and pulls him back down.

"You should be nervous, Ellie." He cries, throwing his body down next to her and burying his face in the pillows like a child.

"I'm not." She confesses, laying her head next to his. "I definitely should be freaking out, but I feel strangely… calm? Maybe I am in denial, but I think knowing you guys are set, is helping me." She says, running her hand through his hair with a sad smile.

"You promised." He mumbles into the pillow, making her raise a brow. He turns his face and makes eye contact, "You promised you wouldn't leave. You said that I didn't need to worry because you weren't going anywhere." He says with red eyes as she looks away with a quiet sigh.

"I know. I'm really sorry." She says with sincerity as he flips his body over and lays his head against her should. "But, you won't be alone. Everyone's gonna be there for you and Nik promised to look out for you. You're gonna be okay. And I'm, well I'll probably go to hell or something." She laughs as he rolls his eyes. "Kidding… kinda."

"Do you think you'll go to the same place as last time? After the sacrifice?" He asks as she shrugs.

"I don't know. I might go to the otherside, I don't really see myself finding peace." She comments as he sits up and sends her a look.

"Why not?" He asks with a sad voice, making her heart clench.

"It just seems kinda boring. And I don't think it's possible to find peace without you." She smiles brightly. "So, how about I wait around somewhere for a little while, then when you kick it, I'll find you. We can go find mom and dad or something." She adds as a tear falls from his eye.

"Or, we find a way to save you now." He argues with determination, making her laugh.

"I don't know, I think it's too late." His eyes widen as she stares blankly at the ceiling. "I see a light." She whispers dramatically, making him roll his eyes and lay back down beside her. "Oh, it's beautiful Jeremy." She continues as he tries not to smile. "There's… milfs as far as the eye can see-" She cuts herself off with a loud laugh as he hits her with a pillow.

"Could you please be serious for just a minute?" He throws his hands up as she shakes her head.

"Not likely." She pats his cheek with a smile.

"We think we found a way to save you." Kol burst through the door with a large smile, Klaus and Bonnie following behind him.

"Really?" Jeremy sits up with a hopeful expression and gestures for them to explain.

"We found something in one of Kol's grimoires, we just need Grams and we should-" Elena cuts Bonnie off.

"Not necessary, I've made my peace. I should really be on my way." Elena closes her eyes tightly, trying and failing to make her grand exit before huffing and reopening them to find the others staring at her with varying degrees of confusion. "Hmm, it's not working. Kol, dear, have you ever smothered someone with a pillow?" Elena asks, reaching behind her and picking up a pillow.

"Ellie, what the hell?" Jeremy asks, forcefully taking the pillow from her hands and staring down at her with furrowed brows. "They just said they can save you." He reminds as she grimaces.

"No, they said Grams can save me. Which she won't. Or at least I don't want her to." She responds as Jeremy stares with an open mouth.

"Why?" He throws his hands up in frustration as the group waits for her to continue.

"We got beef." Elena shrugs as Jeremy buries his face in his hands with a groan.

"Why would you have beef with Bonnie's grandmother?" He asks with frustration as Bonnie shakes her head.

"You do not have beef with Grams." The young witch rolls her eyes. "She's upset with you, but she would never let you die." Elena pulls a blanket over her head and groans.

"I don't want to talk to Grams." Jeremy pulls the blanket away from her with a glare, Elena stares up at each of them with a stern face. "I'm being completely serious when I say, I would rather die."

"Hi, Grams." Elena waves with an awkward smile as Sheila stares with a blank expression. "Okay. Alright, I get it, you're mad." Elena chuckles lightly, rubbing the back of her neck as she avoids Gram's eyes. "Look, I don't see what the big deal is." Elena scoffs, Sheila continues to stare as Elena tries to make her eyes as innocent and wide as possible. "Ugh! Alright, I'm sorry. Is that what you wanted to hear?" Elena breaks, making the witch send her a pointed look.

"And what exactly are you sorry for?" Sheila asks, making Elena sigh loudly.

"I don't know, a bunch of reasons." Elena shrugs as Sheila raises a brow. "I guess that one time I crashed your car. Which wouldn't have happened if Bon Bon could handle her booze as well as you." Elena grimaces at her own insensitivity. "I'm also sorry for that comment. And for that time I took your credit card, and for using that card to sign you up for a dating website, and then tricking you into going on a date with someone from that website, and then not telling about the set up until a few months after your break up, and-" Grams Interrupts Elena's rambling with as shush.

"What are you really sorry for, Elena?" Sheila asks, making Elena blow out a frustrated breath.

"I'm sorry for lying." Elena apologizes quietly as Sheila clears her throat.

"What was that?" Sheila asks again as Elena looks to the ceiling with a groan.

"Okay! Fine, yes. I lied, but in my defense, I really didn't want to tell the truth." Elena whines, making Sheila's lips purse. "Can't you cut a girl some slack? I am dying after all." Sheila rolls her eyes and scoffs.

"Oh, hush. You are not dying, not if I have anything to say about it." Elena looks up in surprise, making Grams smile slightly. "I'm still upset with you. But you're like a granddaughter to me, I'd never let you die." She says in a soft tone, making Elena's nose sting and eyes begin to water, Elena clears her throat and looks away with a nod.

"Yeah, that cool." She deepens her voice, subtly wiping her eyes as Sheila sends her a larger smile.

"We'll need to collect some of your blood. You can come in now." Grams says with a knowing expression as Elena's brows furrow in confusion before the door opens all the way, revealing a guilty Bonnie and Jeremy. "What have I told you about eavesdropping?" Sheila reprimands lightly as Bonnie's cheeks flush.

"Sorry." She mutters, making her way towards Elena and taking a seat next to her on the bed as Sheila turns around and reaches into the bag she brought.

"Here." The older witch says, holding out a small knife to Elena and holds a bowl under her hand. Elena winces with a grimace as she cuts her hand and watches the blood drop into the bowl before pulling her hand away, taking the small towel grams hands her and pressing it to her wound.

"Go clean up, we'll handle this." Grams orders, making Elena mumble about her being "bossy" under her breath as she leaves the room.

"What are you doing, why aren't you lying down?" Elijah corners her with a reprimanding expression, making her sigh and roll her eyes.

"Just trying not to bleed out, suit." She holds up her hand with narrowed eyes. "Is that okay with you?" She asks rhetorically as takes her hand and removes the small towel, checking her wound.

"Come on." He pulls her across the hall into a bathroom as she groans and reluctantly follows.

"Why is everyone being so bossy? I am my own person, you know." She states stubbornly as Elijah turns to her with a blank expression.

"Sit." He orders, pointing at the counter and turning on the sink faucet.

"Will you punish me if I don't?" She jokes with a smirk as she hops up on the counter, making him roll his eyes and grab her hand, placing it under the running water, smiling in apology when she sucks in a breath through her teeth.

"How do you feel?" He asks with concerned eyes as she sighs and leans her head back

"Like I'm dying, how about you?" She questions back, making eye contact as his forehead wrinkles.

"You're asking how I feel?" He clarifies with confusion as she laughs lightly at his expression.

"Yeah, since our little chat, you know, what's your plan now that you've achieved your goal of 1000 years?" She explains with raised brows as he continues tending to her hand.

"I'm not entirely sure." He answers after a moment of silence, finishing bandaging her hand with a sigh. "I had intended to track down Niklaus and avenge my siblings, but that became unnecessary when the strangest young woman I've ever met, forced her way into my life and handed everything I ever wanted to me on a silver platter." He finishes teasingly, making her giggle and smile.

"Well, she sounds super hot." Elijah smiles back at her as she smirks.

"Entirely too vain." He plays along with a faux sigh as she rolls her eyes.

"Everyone should be vain, it makes life more fun acknowledging how hot everyone is." She wiggles her eyebrows, putting her hands behind her head as she leans back, forgetting her injury and immediately curses in pain. "I mean…" she starts with a serious tone, making Elijah lean forward slightly in concentration, "even your mom's pretty hot." She giggles at Elijah's stare of judgment.

"Too easy." She mutters before narrowing her eyes at his expression, "You know, I'm starting to think my jar is having zero effect on you." She shakes her head with disappointment as the original crosses his arms and leans against the counter.

"You could die." He points out after a moment of silence as she clicks her tongue and nods, jumping down from the counter.

"I know." She pats his arm, as she leaves the bathroom in an effort to avoid the conversation.

Elena walks through the long hallways of the Mikaelson mansion, admiring Klaus's many paintings hanging from the walls when she bumps into something.

"I'm sorry, oh Ellie. How are you?" Elena remains silent, staring up at sage in shock before her eyes trail down the redheads body, noticing her wardrobe change from last night's ball, from a gown to what she thinks is Finn's shirt . "Ellie?" Sage asks with concern, snapping Elena out of her thoughts.

"Um, I'm fine. Yeah. Completely, totally fine. You?" Elena rambles, still caught off guard as Sage smiles.

"I'm glad you're okay, I was just on my way to the kitchen, Finn said I should be able to find a blood bag." Sage explains as Elena nods absentmindedly.

"Well… enjoy, I've got to, um- go." Elena rushes away from Sage in search of Finn's room with an excited smile.

"Woah," Finn exclaims with surprise as he's tackled into a hug by Elena.

"Finn, you dirty dog!" Elena punches his arm with a wide grin as his brows furrow.

"Wha-"

"I just ran into Sage in the hallway, she stayed the night. You guys totally banged!" Elena daps him up, pulling her hand away with a finger gun and a cheer.

"No." Finn says simply as Elena raises her brows.

"Excuse me?" Elena smiles falsely as Finn rolls his eyes.

"She was going to go back to her hotel, but she wanted to comfort me so I offered her my room." He explains with annoyance as Elena's mouth opens and closes like a fish.

"So- you- okay… she stayed the night… in your bed and you didn't make a move?" Elena questions slowly, making Finn scoff.

"You were dying." Finn argues with an obvious tone, making her groan.

"So? Oh my god, Finland, have I taught you nothing?" Elena cries with disbelief, "If I die, I give you permission to use my death for sympathy sex! I mean, honestly. I know you were in a box, but- I simply have no words, I'm so disappointed." Elena mutters sadly as Finn sends her look, before he can respond Elena's legs buckle, almost dropping to the ground if not for Finn catching her.

"Look at me, you've driven me to faint with stress." Elena says dramatically, making him roll his eyes again as he helps her to the nearby bed.

"Or perhaps you fainted because you're dying." He replies as he puts a pillow behind her head.

"D minus for sensitivity, your bedside manner is severely lacking. As is your ability to seal the deal." She adds as she scoots over and pulls him beside her. "Seeing as how you failed to fu-" Finn sends her a reprimanding look, making her sigh, "what did happen?" She asks.

"We talked." He shrugs as she gestures with her hand for him to continue.

"Ugh, about?" She questions when he remains silent.

"Nothing too serious, we just… caught up." He adds, making her smile at the way he said the unfamiliar phrase.

"A lot of catching you had to do. 'I got daggered, learned to drive, oh that's it'," she grins at his glare before he huffs.

"Inevitably, she had more to say. The last nine hundred years of her life seem to have been very interesting." He trails off as she nods with understanding.

"Oh, you're jealous-"

"I'm not jealous." He cuts her off with a definitive tone, "more… upset I missed it. Seeing her change through the years." She studies his face with a frown.

"I'm sorry. But you get to know her now, so what are you gonna do? Wanna go away together? Wanna stay close to the family and build a house together or something, wanna get married, adopt a kid, get a dog, what?" She asks at his overwhelmed expression.

"I was thinking dinner." He says, making her laugh and nod.

"Yeah, that works too." They smile at each other before Finn stands and walks towards the door.

"In here." He says, ushering the two Bennett witches into the room as Jeremy follows with a wide smile.

"We did it!" Jeremy sits next to Elena, vibrating with happiness as Bonnie makes a face. "Okay, they did it. But I was there for moral support." He adds as Sheila smiles at the boy softly.

"By 'we did it' does he mean you found a way to save me?" Elena asks, trying to keep the hopefulness out of her voice as Bonnie and Sheila look to each other then back to Elena.

"Can you give us a minute?" Sheila directs the question to Finn and Jeremy, making the two nod and leave the room.

"Uh oh, privacy is never good. Ask the CIA." Elena tries to joke, but the fear in her eyes causes the older witch to sit next to her and take Elena's hands in her own. "What's the prognosis, Doc?" Elena smiles slightly.

"We did a spell on your blood to determine what exactly is wrong, but it's strange. You're not quite hexed or cursed, I'm not certain what's wrong, I'll need to speak with the ancestors-" Sheila cuts Elena's interruption off with a look, "until then, we made a concoction to offset your symptoms, it's almost done, I'm very sorry we couldn't find out more." Sheila apologizes sincerely as Elena shakes her head and smiles.

"It's okay, thank you for helping me. I haven't really given you much of a reason too." Elena lays back and closes her eyes, feeling the bed move as Sheila stands and Bonnie takes her place.

"Hi." Bonnie says sadly, making Elena smile before opening her eyes and seeing the girl next to her and Sheila leave the room.

"Hey, Bon Bon. How's life?" She asks casually, making the witch giggle and lay next to her.

"Not so good at the moment." Bonnie answers as Elena leans her head on her shoulder.

"Everything will be fine, Grams will get that 'concoction' super vague by the way, and all will be well." Elena shrugs as Bonnie sighs.

"I don't know, your blood was strange, well the magic in it anyway, it was like… bonded to you or something." Bonnie struggles to find the words as Elena's brows furrow.

"Could it be because of my doppel-blood?" Elena asks.

"Maybe. I don't know, it felt different, not really natural and doppelgängers are naturally accruing, whatever. We'll figure it out." Bonnie assures as Elena gets lost in her thoughts.

"Hey, if whatever's in my blood isn't natural and it has something to do with why I'm dying, how could you remove it? Like, if it's bonded to me, would it even be possible?" Elena asks as Bonnie sits up with furrowed brows.

"I'm not sure, you haven't been a part of any rituals or anything, and your blood definitely doesn't feel like any curse I've felt, grams neither, I guess we'd have to remove the magic." Bonnie's makes a face of concentration as a smile halfway between excitement and pain makes its way onto Elena's face.

"Like something that could siphon it away?" Elena asks weakly, causing Bonnie to nod with confusion as Grams re-enters the room with a cup.

"Yeah, sure, I guess." Bonnie answers, making Elena laugh as she takes the glass from Grams with a smile of gratitude.

"Well, in that case, cheers, Honey Bee." Elena throws the liquid back before gagging. "Oh my god, that was so gross, why didn't you tell me?" Elena sends a look of betrayal to Sheila, making the woman sigh.

"How are you feeling?" Kol asks as he and Klaus approach Elena soon after the Bennett witches left the room.

"Fantastic!" She cheers happily, making them smile, "but if I'm gonna survive, we gotta go to Portland," she smiles as they look to each other, then back to her with question.
