It began innocently enough when a child decided that he didn't want to go as a Pro-hero for halloween. Simultaneously he had recently gotten interested in the ancient legends which may or may not have been influenced by outside sources.

Not that Izuku really cared all things considered, most people thought he was only a hero-otoku with little to no hobbies besides being an avid fanboy and quirk enthusiast.

As for how he got interested in mythology and could understand them, all that blame could really be placed at passive effects of Quirks on genetics and his grandparents. In this case his paternal grandfather had a brain enhancing quirk and in turn gave the green haired boy photographic memory and an easier time learning things.

Then we get to his maternal grandfather who Inko had babysit for her at times until his death five years after the birth of his grandson. Issun was admittingly an open pervert but with a heart of gold that made it hard to hate the man, and interestingly enough an avid history buff with a voice that was made to be listened to.

Thing is, whenever he got to one particular story the old man would get a certain gleam in his eyes like he was on the inside of a particularly good joke. The story itself, he simply called it Ōkami and it was about the time that the great sun goddess Amaterasu descended to the land of Nippon to stop a great threat.

Despite hearing it numerous times and remembering every detail Izuku would always demand Issun to repeat this story time and time again. The grandfather was always willing to humor it as well and was greatly ecstatic that his grandson liked the story so much.

What was even more amazing in the child's eyes was that his grandfather had an old jar that filled to the brim with the purest white fur the green haired boy had ever seen. Fur that the old man claimed from none-other than Amaterasu herself and just from the feeling they gave off alone Izuku believed him.

Thus when Issun passed on he left his grandchild with multiple scrolls containing old stories and the old jar of wolf goddess fur. It would almost be forgotten about in depression at his grandfather's passing and only remembered about a month before halloween.

Inko was in the middle of cleaning when she would stumble upon it half buried in the closet before smiling fondly at the memories. The woman would then notice the date and then remembered that her son was falling into a state of depression lately.

Thus sparked the crazy and somewhat mischievous idea to take the container to a friend and ask for a favor.

"So do you think you can do it?"

The woman looked at her friend with a happy smile who in turn would look between the white fur in the jar and the scroll containing a drawing of a white wolf with red markings. They would let out a contemplative hum before taking note of how big the jar was and how much fur was inside.

"It's certainly possible… I'll have to call in a friend with a quirk that allows them to manipulate fibers for some help. They normally do work in making Pro-hero outfits, makes the fibers more durable and at times brings out additional properties depending on what type of fabric is used."

"This seems like normal wolf fur if I'm honest and the few times they worked with fur it made costumes more realistic. Other than that… I still have some special dye in stock that should work for the markings, got it from another customer for a special project that I'm not supposed to talk about."

"Since this is for you six year old son I should also have some additional thread leftover, barring any mistakes, so that it could be used to turn into a plushie at a later date if he's interested. As such… I'll charge you a third of the actual price in thanks for your uh, help with that thing we never mention."

Inko's friend seemed to shiver for some strange reason as the woman herself seemed to grin just that tiny much bigger. The green haired female always did seem to make the strangest of friends and acquaintances thanks to her father.

"Why thank you, I'm sure my lovely Izu-kun will like it!"

Thus we come full circle with a young child looking down at the white and red costume of a wolf that his mother had given him. The detail on it was incredible and thanks to some special reinforcement in certain areas it looked like the costume would make him stand on his toes.

If that wasn't enough there were actual black pads on the feet and hands similar to that of an actual canine. In the back of his mind Izuku couldn't help but wonder where his mother found a person skilled enough to make such a good costume.

This however was forgotten in childish enthusiasm as the boy quickly rushed to his room to try it on, much to his mother's amusement. The fallout of this particular change in fate would leave results that only an bored author writing fanfiction and a certain wolf could anticipate.

-|:-:|- Time Skip - Three Months -|:-:|-

"Why do I get the odd feeling that some lousy fanfiction writer decided to skip the first three months of our time together?"

Izuku would let out a brief grunt of confusion from his chair in front of his desk before focusing on his notebook. He was used to Amy making seemingly random and unusual accusations like that by now that he was immune to them.

"No seriously, it felt like some lousy time skip made by a lazy writer to get out of explaining something!"

"Amy, I'm trying to concentrate on homework here, can you please wait for me to finish before descending into the land of Luna Lovegood type crazy."

Yes Izuku was aware of the Harry Potter series if only thanks to Amaterasu deciding to start talking to him about it. In fact it was actually one of the first conversations that they had once he had gotten used to hearing her speak.

On a side note he now had access to the world's largest source of Pre-Quirk information so it was a good trade off, crazy talk and all.

Now the young boy was certain that she was sulking if the feeling he was getting was accurate, there was even the odd feeling of pouting as well. He only lasted two minutes before letting out a sigh and caving into the feel of looking at a sad dog begging for attention.

"Fine… give me five minutes and we'll head out to wherever you want to go."

Instantly he was flooded with the general presence of happiness and the general impression that Amy was practically jumping up and down in eagerness.

"Can you wear the costume as well, or has Nippon changed from being a large place for cosplayers to congregate?"

Izuku paused momentarily as he tried to think of something before looking outside hesitantly as he considered what he was going to do.

In truth cosplay wasn't as prevalent in Japan since the appearance of Quirks some 300 years or so ago. If he did go out it would raise some eyebrows but not many would really comment on it unless he did something stupid.

About the only thing that he was hesitant about was running into people who actually knew him and mocking him about it. His already poor self confidence was just barely beginning to be repaired by the sun goddess who was helping him.

Though as if she was aware of what he was thinking Amy spoke to him in a soft voice that was just like his own mothers.

"I might not be able to do much from here to help you directly but if you don't want people to know it's you I might be able to superimpose my presence over yours as long as you wear the costume. While this would mean that most people would think you're a girl, nobody would be able to connect the male Izuku Mydiora to the person cosplaying as an anthropomorphic wolf."

At this admission Izuku had to pause as he momentarily bit his lip in contemplation and thought about what he was going to do. Amaterasu's presence had backed off and she was patiently waiting for him to decide on what to do.

His mind was a whirlwind as it thought over the positives and negatives to this idea before all of a sudden his tension slipped away. Really there was only so much he could do and despite how awkward it would be he was still a kid and the idea of being something he wasn't even for a while was appealing.

"I… fine but if we're going to do this then I'm heading to another district and only for a few hours at most."

At this admission the sun goddess seemed to smile slightly at that in just the same way that a mother would to a child who she knows made a hard decision. Then just before she would get excited and start jumping around once more her presence changed to that of a warrior.

Almost instantly Izuku felt himself streten up and could almost see that the wolf was looking around in a slow deliberate manner. Something had happened and now she was tense, readying herself for action should anything happen.

"Alright… I hate to do this Izuku-san but could you potentially head to a certain shrine and investigate something for me? I can't exactly tell you what happened but I can tell that something did and I need a pair of eyes on the ground on your end."

"I… I'm sorry for this but without an avatar or Celestial Envoy I can't do anything to help you besides the most basic of things. You would only have to look things over for me and if at any point you feel like trouble is coming then I won't care if you leave for safety."

The boy felt himself tense slightly at this admission before letting out a brief sigh of relief upon hearing the Sun Goddess admission.

"Alright just… give me a few a few minutes to throw on a few pieces of clothes and get out of the district before you superimpose yourself… whatever that means."

Absently noting the acceptance that was sent to him the boy quickly hopped off his chair and headed towards his closet. If he remembered correctly then he had a few rather baggy clothes that his mother had gotten him but never really used.

Other than that, he would probably have to do some quick modifications to an old pair of shorts but he could probably put on additional clothes to make the impression he really was cosplaying more realistic. He could also remember where an old pair of boots were stashed that might have belonged to his father that were big enough to hide the feet of the costume temporarily.

Thankfully the costume's feet also acted as shoes so once he took the boots off he wouldn't have to worry about that. Combined with a bit of Amatseru's power and the enhanced durability it was granted during its creation he wouldn't have to worry about it getting dirty or torn while walking about.

Sure he would no doubt get a few stairs at first but it would give him a bit of a break until he inevitably went out in public. He would also have to bring a bag to hide these extra clothes in but it would definitely add to his appearance as a cosplayer.

Soon enough he was out the door and absentmindedly listening to Amy's chatter with a small smile on his face. She was currently rattling off how different Japan was when compared to the 21st century, or even earlier during what she called the Yami era.

Turns out the appearance of Pro-Heros and Quirks made it safer for kids of various ages to travel further from home without fear. Well, that and the fact that the Yakuza was now in shambles and barley clinging on to whatever power it had left.

Half an hour later he was in another district entirely and nervously ducked into a nearby ally to take off the overly large clothes and put on his mask. Nervously he took a deep breath before closing it up and giving a brief wordless nod that he knew the Sun Goddess was able to detect.

Two seconds later he felt a brief surge of energy and weird disconcerting feeling like something had changed but was unable to detect. "Whoa that's… what happened to my voice?"

Izuku reached up to his throat for a moment upon hearing his tone of voice before blushing as he felt Amy's amusement. Right, she was imposing her presence over his and it was most likely the reason that his voice had changed.

Though now that he was paying attention it felt like her presence had done something unexpected to the costume. For some reason he was just simply more aware of it in such a way that it was harder to separate himself from it, and the red markings were glowing faintly.

"Interesting… it appears as if my powers have changed your costume slightly, those marking of yours are now similar to that of my own. Only those with strong spiritual powers and or belief in the gods will be able to see them while others will only see you as wearing a white wolf costume…"

"Well, either that or they will think that you actually have a rather stronge animal based Quirk. Other than that you might get the barest hint of my animal instincts which should be easy to ignore."

The young boy frowned slightly before he shook his thoughts off and quietly offered his thanks mere moments before leaving the ally. It would take him at least fifteen minutes to get used to this change and nearly an hour before getting used to being addressed as a girl.

Soon enough Izuku was happily walking down the sidewalk and eagerly taking in the sights without a care in the world. It didn't really help that Amaterasu was happily jumping around like an eager puppy and influencing him as well.

It would be a long three hours that paradoxically didn't feel that long at all before the costumed kid would walk a bit further out and away from the town. Despite how happy Izuku was both he and the Sun Goddess still had to check out the shrine for some reason.

"Why do I get the sudden sensation that we are missing something… never mind the shrine is just a bit further. If i'm correct then there should be an old Torii gate in front of it that you… should… WHAT IN BLAZES IS THAT THING?!"

The costumed child couldn't help but flinch at the tone of Amaterasu's voice even as he stared in shock at the old Torii gate. This could only be attributed to the fact that floating in the middle of the gate was what appeared to be a faint pink disk.

Izuku blinked for a moment before slowly reaching up and taking off the mask to get a better look at it. Only to end up blinking some more and replacing the mask on him and repeating the process several times before finally putting it back on and sealing it up.

"I have no clue what that is but for some reason the only way I can see it is by wearing the mask and seeing through its eyes."

Wearily the six year old approached the gate while taking in the sight of what he could only call a portal. His first thought was that it might have been some sort of Quirk at work but that was instantly dashed as Amy spoke.

"This… this portal is giving off a ton of spiritual energy, how it's here I have no clue but whatever has opened it must have tremendous energy. At the same time… I can't help but think I've felt this power before but for the life of me the name seems to slip from my mind every time I try to remember."

"Be very careful Izuku, I have no clue what will happen if you touch that thing but whatever it does can't be good."

Silently the boy nodded his head before carefully approaching the gate and taking note of the feel of spiritual power he could feel crawling upon his fur. He momentarily paused upon noting that he had thought of himself having fur before brushing it off as Amy's presence still clinging to him and the costume.

Izuku then took a moment to take note of the rather small shrine and noticed that there was nothing wrong with it besides being rather worn down. Judging from the goddess grunt she probably noted the same thing and with great reluctance the costumed child turned his attention towards the Torii gate.

Thinking back the only reason he even knew what spiritual power even felt like was because his grandfather had a few trinkets that contained some. Quickly shaking off these thoughts Izuku took note that he was incredibly close to the portal and with only a brief amount of hesitation he reached out to touch it.

The second his hand came in contact with it the feeling of spiritual energy seemed to increase drastically to the point his hand was practically seething with it. He then pulled his hand out and took note of the lingering feeling that accompanied a faint pink glow which quickly dissipated.

A second later he took a deep breath to steel himself and before Amatserau could say anything he stepped inside.

"IZUKU!"

Instantly the young boy felt himself tense and his ears flatten in shock at the loud voice of the goddess. He could tell that she was both angry and scared that he had decided to step into the portal before pausing and reaching a paw up to his ears.

The Sun goddess was oddly quiet as he poked his head and indeed noted that he had a pair of wolf ears. Izuku then took a moment to move his hand to his mouth and opened it, noting that he also had a snout.

A second later he took note that his tail was moving about absently behind him before finally pausing and doing the only thing he could think of.

That being taking a deep breath and letting out a yelp of shock before jumping backwards and landing on his rear back on the original side of the portal. He then took a few deep breaths and noted that now he was back to normal and looked back up at the shimmering pink portal hanging in the air just a few feet ahead of him.

"That was scary and yet… incredibly awesome at the same time."

Amy was still being silent as the boy took a moment to calm himself down before standing up and looking around. Seeing nobody around Izuku took another breath before walking into the portal once more and taking in what was on the other side.

The world beyond the portal was actually rather similar to that of what he had seen on the other side with the exception of having a soft pink glow that was only noticeable if one paid attention to it. Another difference he noted was right off was that the shrine itself seemed to be darker than it had before for some reason.

"This… this is definitely new, if I'm correct it looks like you have somehow entered a form of spiritual world. Not only can I actually feel you better than before but it appears that this place has changed you into an actual anthropomorphic wolf."

Izuku nodded absently as he briefly patted himself down while trying to take in everything around him carefully. At the same time he could actually notice that his thinking was also altered while here thinking that he was using a paw instead of a hand.

"That's… I think the only reason I'm even able to do this is because the costume I'm wearing was made out of your fur. Or maybe it has to do with superimposing yourself over me… possibly a combination of things really but there's no point in trying to figure it out right now."

For a moment the child was confused upon the feeling of Amy doing what amounted to as a three second stand still before letting out a nervous laugh. He would only chalk it up to some sort of goddess thing and think nothing of it before proceeding to cautiously entering the small shrine once more.

"IMP! KILL IT! KILL IT! KILL IT! KILL THE IMP! Wait a minute… HOW IS AN IMP EVEN STILL AROUND IN THIS DAY AND AGE?!"

Only to end up running in circles as a green imp suddenly jumped out and for Amaterasu to start screaming her head off at the sight of it. On a side note the young wolf noted that he had absentmindedly shifted to running on all fours to try and escape the surprisingly spry imp that was screeching angrily at him.

"AMY STOP YELLING AND TELL ME HOW TO STOP IT ALREADY!"

"Izuku you're a wolf right now, forget human modesty and just use your fangs to pierce the imps throat. Green imps are the weakest of all Yoki to the point that even farmers in the Yami era could defeat them on their own."

"The only real reason they were a threat back then was because they were so numerous and had a tendency to form mobs, and this is just one so you're pretty much safe."

/\/\/\ Author Interruption - We now draw a curtain on the following scene of violence \/\/\/

"It happened again! Some lousy writer has skipped your first fight scene due to being too lazy to write it!"

Ignoring the ranting wolf goddess Izuku took some deep breaths as he tried to calm himself down from the fight. Honestly he knew the only reason she was even going off like this was due to trying to distract him from thinking too much on what he had just done.

Thankfully it was actually effective enough that he simply shook his head and took note that the old shrine was now emitting its own light. Coincidently Amaterasu's rant was broken off as she took note of this new development before using a bit of her divine power to experimentally poke it.

"Huh, it appears as if you have managed to restore the shrine and I can now hear the prayers that people are sending me from it again. I think that glow is just the representation of my power while on this strange plane… give me a few days to investigate Izuku-kun and I should have a more concrete answer for you soon."

Izuku nodded absently as he approached the Torii gate once more and easily used the portal to leave. A brief check later showed that he was wearing a costume once more before shrugging and deciding that he should probably head home.

-|:-:|- Time Skip - Five Months -|:-:|-

"I tell you it happened again! When I get my paws on this lousy writer they will regret ever doing these stupid time skips!"

Once more Izuku let out a brief grunt upon hearing Amy go into rant mode about some sort of writer. Honestly he was mainly blocking it out if only because she kept saying really disturbing stuff during those episodes.

It had been five months since his first especade into the Spiritual Realm and the sun goddess had only begun to find out what was going on.

Turns out that since the gods have left Earth all those years ago the Spiritual Powers had started fading away. However the planet was incredibly stubborn and really didn't like this so it had tried to cling onto whatever power that remained.

This had the inadvertent side effect of creating a form of mirror world that all the demons and supernatural creatures decided to migrate towards. Unfortunately any portals that had existed in the past had either been sealed up, destroyed by human development, or overzealous extremists.

As time passed people had apparently forgotten that these creatures were once real and whatever remaining portals that existed had lost their power about the same time as the Industrial Revolution. Fast forward a few centuries later and the first Quirks started to appear, bringing about a brief resurgence of belief, if only out of shock at humans having actual superpowers.

Three centuries later and that same surge of belief had slowly grown to the point that it was only now that these same portals were slowly reactivating. Unfortunately humanity had largely forgotten about these supernatural creatures and were now unprepared for their potential return.

Even worse, turns out that a certain creature known as Yami had a bad habit of somehow managing to avoid destruction and a piece of it managed to lodge itself into this Spiritual Realm where it proceeded to grow unnoticed. On the bright side it appeared that said fragment was in some sort of stasis and would only wake up if something managed to shake up the real world something fierce.

The only things that could do that would be if either a villain existed that could steal the Quirks of others that became known to the whole world (All for One). Or if a large amount of Yoki managed to somehow enter the real world and caused a huge amount of chaos and beat up a bunch of heros.

Thankfully the first one wasn't even remotely possible (Sniker) but the latter one was, and it was made even worse seeing as how there was next to nobody who remembered the old arts. Those who did were either too old to be able to do anything or only had the bare basics of rather shoddy training and unlikely to be of any real help.

Thus Izuku was on his own for the most part as Amaterasu was unable to really help him much from her place on the Astral Plane.

"I get the strange feeling that the lousy writer is aware of something that we aren't and it's going to bite us in the ass at a later date."

Looking up at the sun goddesses' sudden change in tone the boy couldn't help but roll his eyes at this before focusing on his homework once more. He was almost done with it and afterwards he would be free to head out and do some more investigation of the Spiritual Realm.

Interestingly enough the green haired youth had discovered that he didn't have to actually wear the costume to enter it, nor did he have to use a Torii gate. Instead he only needed to have said costume on his person, such as inside his backpack, and only had to concentrate a bit on asking the goddess to create a portal to the mirror world via a variety of ways.

The easiest way was obviously the gates but he could also use various door ways, window frames, reflective surfaces, or even holes amusingly enough. Sure he needed help from Amy to do it but the fact was that this offered a quick escape from Bakugo and his cronies who wanted to beat him up for simply being Quirkless.

Other than that there really wasn't anything to do there besides wonder around and dispel negativity from a general area. Well, that and enter restricted areas without being detected but both of them agreed it wasn't a good thing unless they had no other choice.

Suddenly, just as the kid was writing the last sentence of his homework, his pencil broke causing him to grumble in disappointment.

"Seriously that's the ninth one so far."

Irritated, the young boy opened a drawer to grab a new pencil with one hand while the other brushed off the remains of the last. For some reason he had been having trouble with breaking things lately and for the life of him couldn't figure out why.

"Izuku… what's that you're holding?"

Confused, the costumed kid glanced at what he had snagged and noticed that he was holding a spool of white thread. Why he had this currently escaped him but after a second or two of trying to remember Izuku couldn't help but blink.

"Huh, you know I had completely forgotten about this. A month after getting this costume Ka-san gave me this spool and said that it's made out of the same stuff."

"She thought that I might not want to get rid of it even after outgrowing the suit and so gave me this thread so that I could one day turn it into a large plushy."

Shrugging he took a moment to put the thread in his bag before pulling out another pencil and quickly finishing his homework.

"I think that might be a side effect of your trips into the Spirit World and a bit of your wolf self bleeding into your human half. After all wolves tend to be stronger than regular humans and if the strength is proportional according to size then you would definitely be in the upper percentile."

"As for that thread of yours… I'll admit that I'm a bit upset at the thought that you will eventually grow out of that costume but it's to be expected. Even now it's been eight months since you've first put it on and even I can tell you're a bit taller than you were back then."

"But now that you've brought it up I think that… but we would need to… then there was the potential… the side effects…"

Izuku couldn't help but snort as he metaphorically saw that Amaterasu had trailed off into muttering like he did at times.

"Yeah well, good luck trying to figure out whatever it is your thinking of Amy."

With that the green haired boy pulled off the mask he had on and proceeded to fold up the costume before stuffing it into his bag.

He had taken to only putting on the mask of it after once almost being caught by Bakugo bursting into his room. It was only thanks to the timely intervention of his mom that he had managed to get out and hide the wolf suit before the explosive kid had entered.

Apparently his latest escapades of escaping had irritated the blonde and he had come to try and demand answers. Thankfully he wasn't able to get too forceful due to the fact that Inko was there before having to leave in irritation none-the-wiser.

That done the boy proceeded to look over his room before frowning as he took note that one of his old Hero Analysis books was missing. A brief look around revealed that it was nowhere to be seen before the green haired individual let out a groan of irritation.

He honestly wouldn't be surprised if the blonde had decided to take the thing in retaliation while planning to use it as collateral in a confrontation. Despite his arrogance the explosive kid was smart and no doubt thought he knew how valuable Izuku considered it.

In truth the Quirkless boy wasn't all that attached to them but had decided to move all of those journals over into the Spirit World for safekeeping after a surprising comment from the wolf goddess. After all Amy had mentioned how his analysis was incredibly detailed and could prove problematic if any villains found out about them.

A quick glance threw them later and the boy had quickly decided that in case of an unlikely break in they would probably be safer in a place that nobody was really able to access. However he had taken his second version of this series out for reference as he rewrote several entries into a new journal.

Hay, he might have photographic memory but that doesn't mean it didn't help to have the source material out in sight.

"How was your day honey?"

Hearing his mom Izuku quickly placed the thought in the back of his mind and greeted her. A few minutes later and the two of them were enthusiastically talking with each other at the kitchen table over supper.

Despite how happy he was however the boy couldn't help but feel some sort of creeping dread slowly crawl up his spine. It would only be a few minutes past seven before the feeling suddenly surged forwards at the same time a hard knock came from the front door.

-|:-:|- Scene Shift - Divine Plane -|:-:|-

Lying down on her, let's call it a bed for convenience, bed Amaterasu couldn't help but let out a brief sigh as she relaxed boredly. Her son was currently out playing with Bakugami's piglets in the plains and since everything was peaceful she was rather bored.

The Divine Plane was in truth rather boring once one got past the point that it was where, as it's name implied, the divine lived. Other than that all that she had to really do was settle the disputes of the Celestial Brush gods and answer the prayers of mortals every now and them.

It was times like this that the wolf goddess wished that she could roam the lands of her beloved Nippon once more. At least back then she didn't have everybody and their mother after her to solve their problems and could roam semi-freely at her own leisure.

Thus most of the time she spent resting and watching her beloved mortals move on about their lives unaware of her watchful eyes.

It didn't help her mood either that her oldest friend Issun had eventually grown tired of life here and decided to leave for the mortal realm. She had then been forced to watch as he had grown old before finally passing into the Shinigami's realm.

That really didn't help and had sent her into a mild depression for a while until a new bright spot entered her life. Even more surprising was that it was Issun's very own grandchild that had somehow managed to get into a situation that made her honestly do a double take.

Amaterasu honestly had no idea that her friend had taken a bunch of her fur as a memento, nor had she any idea that his daughter had made it into a costume in the sun goddesses likeness. It was the most flattering and honestly disturbing thing she had ever witnessed but in the end the costume ended up bringing her new happiness.

Izuku was a bright light, ironically enough that light was green, which represented the first opportunity of change to happen in years. Not only was the young child bright and eager but he was also able to bring about a resurgence in actual belief as a new Celestian Envoy.

Though in truth the child was still too young for this duty so she was willing to wait for a few years until he had matured. At least until she had detected something strange and had to reluctantly send him to investigate it.

Only to get the surprise of her life upon finding out a portal that leads to another plane of existence that she didn't know about. One that led to the discovery that Yami had managed to once more defy death and somehow become a problem once more.

If only she and the other deities weren't stuck upon this plane and could actually do something to end the pest. As it stands she had to leave it to Issun's grandsun Izuku to hopefully stall for time until belief built up enough that they could do something.

Or as an alternative she could simply let the child do something about it but that really didn't set well with her.

Shaking her head Amaterasu knew she was getting lost in her thoughts about this new development and decided to focus on her current dilemma. That mainly being how to cope with not being in contact with the kid who she had strangely taken to mothering lately.

Honestly it was a miracle that in only eight months she had managed to calm him down and carefully dissolution him to his former friendship, with that explosive blond Bakugo. Then there was the fact that she had to help build up his low self esteem and instigate some divine intervention at current school.

As it stands the teachers and aides at that place were under investigation by their superiors and so far nobody was liking what they were seeing. In fact, if things kept going as they were the wolf goddess wouldn't be surprised if the entire school district was closed down and multiple people fired.

Letting out another huf Amy knew she was getting distracted once more and decided to do some people watching. It was her favorite past time and now that she had some more perspective on the current era she was much more interested.

Even more interesting was that while looking she spotted an occasional animal that also seemed to possess a Quirk. While far and few inbetween they were much more interesting and if possible the wolf goddess wouldn't mind seeing if they could be potential additions to their line up.

Other than that she witnessed the occasional scandal, a few fights between villains and heroes, a new anime episode that had come out, a live kidnapping of Izuku and the muder of Inko, some squirrel waking a quirk that allowed them to make duplicates of itself, and a…

Whatever she was seeing was instantly forgotten as Amaterasu quickly went back to the live event in horror. The green haired boy had just witnessed his mother being stabbed in the back of the head with a knife by someone and was attempting to escape.

Thing is, his left hand was at the wrong angle, probably broken, and there was another knife sticking out of his stomach and a second in left leg. If that wasn't horrible enough then the guy manifested another with a slight yellow glow around it and threw it at the kid as well.

Thankfully it missed as Izuku used his good hand to throw a plate at the man's head and it embedded into a wall not too far away. Before the man could retaliate though the boy seemed to throw what looked like a thing of pepper at him.

This not only distracted the man long enough for the kid to get away but left him blind enough that he couldn't do anything. Acting quickly the wolf goddess got ready to create a portal the second the child managed to grab the costume.

It would take quite a bit of Ink but in the end she had to get the green haired boy out of there and into proper medical care. Unfortunately the man had managed to recover quicker than anticipated and just as Izuku was escaping out the window the knifeman broke through the door and managed to hit the child in the middle of his back with a well timed through.

Without thinking anymore about it Amaterasu quickly lunged at the image and found herself impossibly managing to catch Izuku mid fall.

Frantically she looked at the child before glancing at the bag holding the costume just in time for a spool of thread to come tumbling out. She was all too aware that whatever was happening was only temporary and looking at the heavily bleeding and unconscious child came to a quick decision.

The wolf goddess quickly ducked back into the building and entered the real world before carefully setting the child down onto the floor. A quick brush technique later and not only was his clothing now shreds but so was the backpack containing the costume.

"Hold on Izuku, just a few more minutes and you'll be alright."

Speaking softly the goddess quickly assumed a human form before taking the costume and putting the child inside it. It was sickening but she removed the knives while doing her best to stem the blood flow, imposing her on the costume seemed to help, before finally finishing and sealing the thing up.

Not too soon she had finished and managed to drag the child into the spiritual world mere moments before the knifeman tried to flee the building. As for Amaterasu, she would look upon the man in anger before shifting her attention back to Izuku and checking him for any injuries.

It might have been luck or something but apparently the transition had ignored his wounds and with a relieved sigh the goddess relaxed slightly. A second later however she straightened out and with great reluctance turned the child over slightly to look at his back where the opening would be.

There was nothing there obviously while in the Spiritual World but that didn't mean that the seam still existed on some level. So it was with great reluctance that the human form of the wolf goddess used a little bit of her power to form a needle and got to work on permanently sealing the costume up.

A few minutes later and Amy watched as the threads seemed to slowly meld into the child's body from back in the divine plane. It was luck that she had managed to finish the last bit of sowing/stitching before suddenly and violently being pulled back into her place.

Now, here she was utterly exhausted but also satisfied that she had managed to save Izuku's life. Though as she laid down to take a nap the wolf goddess couldn't help but feel sad that she had to ruin the child's life like that with her sinful desigheres.

Just a moment before going to sleep though Amaterasu couldn't help but blink as a random thought suddenly entered her head.

"Does this mean that I now have a second child?"

Groaning in pain Izuku couldn't help but feel like something was incredibly wrong before suddenly stopping and sitting up. He was apparently in the Spirit World if the fact he was fluffy was any indication which neatly explained why he wasn't exactly in any pain.

The next thing he noted was the scent of blood, a strangely familiar and yet not familiar scent, alongside a tone of new people. It was then that he blinked a few times and took note that there were apparently a bunch of police officers around him going about business.

Apparently the wolf child had been unconscious and not too far away from the scene of an actual crime scene. Wincing slightly the boy couldn't help but feel some sort of phantom pain as he stood up and wobbled on his digitigrade legs.

Izuku then let out a grunt as he leaned on the wall for support before finally calming down and trying to figure out what happened. A brief headache later and he experienced for the first time being unable to recall anything from the night before.

It was honestly the most scary thing he had ever faced so far and for a moment he almost fell onto the floor once more in panic. A second later however he quickly forced these thoughts out from his mind and took a few calming breaths.

That said the boy shook his head and took another glance at the scene before deciding that he should head to his apartment. Thankfully while in this Spirit World nobody could actually see him which was more than enough to prevent him from being too embarrassed.

However his panic came back once more as he saw that the door to the apartment he and his mother lived in was also surrounded by police tape. He didn't even think twice before quickly ducking in and taking note of all signs of violence that had taken place.

There was even what appeared to be signs there being a body of some sort on the floor if the tape was any indication. Fear for his mother was the first thing that came to mind as Izuku took note of the officers that were busy taking photos of the place.

Feeling an ear twitched in response the boy carefully made his way away from them and carefully into his room. Only to find another officer in there looking at his desk and carefully reading through his newest rewrite of his Hero-Analysis journal while also talking on the phone.

"Yeah, looks like this kid was some sort of Hero-otaku… or possibly some sort of stalker but I'm more likely to go with the first option if the opinion of the neighbors were any indication. Judging from the one we found the kid was the target and his mother was just an unfortunate victim…"

"Yes he was quirkless but just looking at the one we found and this half written one he had an incredible eye for detail. You're kidding right… the boy is just a few steps away from being a pro at Quirk analysis and if he was targeted the villain might have wanted him because of this."

"Look, all I'm saying is that the boy might have had a passive quirk or something… it wouldn't be a surprise all things considered. I know that you know that several hospitals have made mistakes in recent years when it comes to passive Quirks due to the lack of signs that appeared in the earlier years."

"We also might have to consider that this could be related to the recent kidnappings going on across the entire country. Yeah… fine I'll bring it with me… no either the killer took the rest of them or the kid was smart and hid everything really well."

"Again I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case… yeah… ok… fine I'll have someone come over to look for them."

That said the man picked up a journal and walked out the door while leaving a stunned Izuku behind as he tried to figure out what was happening. Not only was his mother dead apparently but it appeared that everyone assumed he was either kidnapped or worse.

The second that thought entered his mind he couldn't help but do the first thing that came to mind, pass out in shock.

It was several hours later that he woke up and the setting sun was casting a variety of colors into the sky as the wolf child woke up. "Urghhh… what happened?"

Izuku couldn't help but feel confused before everything suddenly came back to him and the boy couldn't help but break down. He could feel his world practically breaking down around him which caused the young child's tears and cries of grief to be all that much more bitter.

Despite how smart and mature he was, the child was still seven years old so the fact that he broke down like this wasn't really a surprise. Therefore it was this scene that the recently awakened Amaterasu came to and quickly acted by sending her presence towards the child.

It took a few minutes but soon enough Izuku started to calm down as the presence of his friend helped to anchor him.

"It's alright child… just calm down and I promise you that no matter what happens I will do my best to help you."

Slowly the child's cries and sob's began to stop before slowly the wolf child finally calmed down. At some point he seemed to have curled into himself and was hugging his tail but even after calming down Izuku didn't uncurl himself.

"I… I can't remember what happened… for the first time I can't remember something and it's terrifying."

The goddess was quiet for a moment even as she did her best to send a comforting feeling towards the child before letting out a sigh. As much as she didn't like it Amy knew that she really couldn't afford to alienate the child by lying to him, at the same time she also knew that he wasn't exactly ready for the truth either.

"Izuku… I'm sorry… I… I know what happened to you but… right now there is nothing we can do without causing drastic repercussions. I promise you though that one day I will tell you what happened, all I need in return is for you to place your trust in me alright?"

For a moment the child felt tempted to throw a fit at the goddess before his rational mind pointed out that it probably wouldn't do any good. Izuku also knew that Amaterasu probably had a good reason for not wanting to tell him either and well, she did promise to tell him one day so that would have to do for now.

With a reluctant nod the young wolf child proceeded to slowly stand once more as the wolf goddess let out a contemplative hum.

"Alright then… the first order of business is grabbing whatever you can and getting out of here, I know you have a thing or two stashed away in the Spirit World which is good since you can't really interact with the Real world without causing problems later on. As for what to do next… the best thing for now is to get somewhere safe and lie low for the time being so… me thinketh it's time to go back to the shrine."

"Once that is done we can have some time for future planning such as figuring out how to get new clothes, some food, and potentially making a new identity for you."

In typical wolf fashion the child let out a reluctant whine before proceeding to do exactly as requested.

The first thing he needed to do however was head back outside his room to pick up his back up backpack he had stashed away in case of emergency. A brief look inside showed that he had a shirt and shorts inside along with a few odds and ends such as school supplies.

These supplies were simply ignored as Izuku grabbed and stuffed his journals in the bag before carefully reaching under his bed for an old shoe box. This was something he had simply tossed into the Spirit World on a whim and opening it up showed a few wads of cash either from his allowance from his mother or from the occasional defeat of the Yokai he managed.

It only totaled up to a little over 1000 since the rest he had decided to give to his mother but for the time being it would have to do. Then there were the other odds and ends he had stashed inside of it such as the blue and red demon fang, an odd white bone, and at least three glass beads.

"I'll be honest, if I had known you had that Holy Bone then I wouldn't have nearly panicked as much as I did when trying to put you into that costume. Though small that thing is one of my favorite snacks and can actually heal more damage then one would think it could."

"As for the demon fang… they can be useful to buy certain artifacts from the more passive Yokai which might prove useful. Then there are the beads… let's just say that collecting them is going to be incredibly hard but well worth it in the end."

Nodding quietly the child simply dumped everything into his bag and, after making sure to put on his clothing, hopped out the still open window.

"IT HAPPENED AGAIN, THREE HOURS GONE FOREVER DUE TO, I'm not helping am I?"

Izuku couldn't help but absently nod in response as he finally reached the shrine and felt like he could collapse at any moment.

He had spent most of his time absently waiting for the train to come and couldn't really feel bad at not paying for any ticket. In fact he had spent most of his time in a numb shock as Amy did her best to comfort him, which despite not being much was still something.

The second he saw the still there portal the boy let out a low sigh and proceeded to ignore it by walking around the Torii gate.

While small the shrine itself was still rather unique in that there was a secret door in the back that led to a small room. It apparently used as a storage of sorts to contain supplies for various festivities before being cleaned out at some point and forgotten about a long time ago.

Surprisingly enough there was little to no signs of rodent activity inside and even some money inside a box that had been stashed away. Other than that the place was empty and only needed a few patches here and there before it would work as a place to live.

Despite whatever negative feelings he was feeling Izuku had to admit that this place would be quite decent with a little bit of work.

"This place needs a new paint job, probably some renovations that won't affect the outside too much, and some much needed appliances. A new room probably wouldn't be that much of a hassle if you're smart enough to go underground though you would need some creative work to prevent it from flooding."

Amaterasu seemed to be looking at the room with something akin to that of someone thinking of how to improve their own home. Then again she was a goddess and this shrine was technically dedicated to her so in a weird way she did own the place.

"I think if we were to add some drawers and compartments into the walls we could save space… and with modern construction we can preserve the exterior. Combine that with a few charms and spiritual energy then we can make the inside have a rather stable temperature year round, especially when you take being covered in fur into consideration."

"For now though… this place is a safe zone for you where you can rest and recover without fear of being attacked. Otherwise we have time for me to train you in combat techniques and with the abundance of roaming Imps, the offerings that people still give, and some careful planning you won't have to worry about food and money that much."

At this the child couldn't help but let out a brief snort as he proceeded to pull out a blanket from his backpack and lay it down in a corner. It was getting rather late and unsurprisingly Izuku had a rather tiring day already after the rather depressing truth he had learned about.

He also had the strange feeling that in the days ahead he would be bringing a large amount of headaches. That said the wolf child proceeded to lay down on the blanket and curl up while taking into the scope of the room.

While he wasn't exactly that smart when it came to construction the room appeared to be a five by seven foot big space slightly sunken into the ground. Combined with the six foot high ceiling and the room was at best nothing more than a storage locker for whatever reason.
