RAW: 16/4/2007
Monday Night RAW was live from Milan, Italy. Coach came out to the entrance and said that he had made a Backlash main event that was overturned last week by the honorary GM Michael Pena. Coach said he would have his way tonight though, that John Cena would take on Rated RKO in a handicapped match later tonight, and the Main Event will be the Bladewolf vs the Jackal.
Coach introduced WWE Chairman Vince McMahon who was loudly booed by the Italian crowd. BTW, kudos to our Italian friends who really went all out with the signs. Impressive. McMahon said Milan was supposed to be the fashion capital of the world. McMahon mocked the not-so fashionable people in the crowd before letting us all know that garlic was not an aphrodisiac. Funny stuff. McMahon got down to business and introduced The Samoan Bulldozer, Umaga.
Umaga headed down to the ring with his handler Armando Alejandro Estrada. McMahon wanted to remind everyone what Umaga did to Lashley last week. A video aired of the beat down on ECW Champion Bobby Lashley last week. McMahon said at Backlash, that their team would destroy Bobby Lashley.
McMahon said speaking of Shane, he wasn't here tonight. He was told them that Shane disliked the lack of deodorant in Italy in general. Lashley also isn't here because customs sent him back to the United States. McMahon extended an invitation to anyone in the back who wanted to take on Umaga. In fact he said, whoever did, would get a shot at winning Umaga's Intercontinental Championship. The crowd chanted something in Italian and Vince said he couldn't understand a thing they were saying. Vince said since they were so vocal, he'd put out a challenge to one of the fans in the stands.
McMahon called out a little kid in a red striped shirt and made him cry. Total classic heel stuff here. They plucked a guy out of the stands wearing a brown shirt. The fans went ga ga for whoever he is. McMahon asked him if he understood English and he responded with a 'si'. The fans broke out a soccer chant. Vince made him agree to a to harm no foul clause. Apparently this guy's name is Santino Morella. The crowd was TOTALLY molten for this.
Vince made fun of his shoes and even got a referee down. A "Santino" chant broke out and here we go. Santino took his shirt off and I guess we're off.
Santino was game hitting some kicks to Umaga's side before going for a schoolboy. Umaga was dazed before McMahon held the proceedings up. He said there's been a misunderstanding here. McMahon made the match a "No Holds Barred" match. Jesus. Estrada smacked Morella before Morella responded.
Umaga jumped Morella and dropped a big leg drop on his face. Estrada came back into the ring to slap Morella some more before Umaga hit him with a brutal front slam. Umaga lines Santino up in the corner and hit a second rope splash on the Italian. Umaga picked up his challenger and body slammed him and made his way to the top rope. Lashley showed up out of nowhere and press slammed Umaga off the top rope before landing some big punches and flooring the champion.
Lashley blocked the steel chair shot from Vince and chased him from the ring. Lashley hit some nuclear chair shots on Umaga and then hit him with a spear. He dumped Morella on top of him. Three seconds later, we've got a NEW Intercontinental Champion.
RAW then went to commercial.
*After the break*
King was in the ring with Lashley and the new Intercontinental Champion Santino Morella. Morella gave us all a thank you and Lashley said some bad lines.
Carlito and Flair were in the back. Carlito said he was beginning to wonder whether teaming up was a bad idea. Flair said not to worry about last week. It was water under the bridge to him. He said a win tonight would put them in contention for a shot at whatever they wanted. They just needed to go out and do it.
*After the break*
Next match was Ric Flair & Carlito v. The World's Greatest Tag Team. Carlito and Shelton locked horns and exchanged some shoulder blocks. Carlito hit a hip lock take over and then repeated the move to Haas. Carlito hit a pair of body slams on the two before dropping a pair of drop kicks into Shelton's face before dumping Charlie Haas over the top rope with a clothesline.
Haas officially tagged in and so did Ric Flair. Flair and Haas locked and ended up in the corner. Haas hit a shoulder thrust and a punch to the face but the former 16 time World Champ fought back with a bunch of chops before chop blocking Haas from behind. Benjamin came in to save the day before a figure four though with a clothesline.
Haas dragged Flair to the corner and Shelton tagged in. Benjamin connected with a back body drop and got a cover attempt. Haas tagged in and planted some boots into the back of Flair before dropping a knee in his face for another cover attempt. TWGTT exchanged quick tags and boots before Flair eventually fought back with some chops. Haas went for a suplex but Flair countered and tagged in Carlito.
Carlito came in and hit some punches on Benjamin before booting him in the gut and hitting a running knee lift. Carlito came off the ropes and connected with a reverse elbow for a two count. Flair chased Haas out of the ring but distracted the referee in the process, causing the official to miss Haas tripping up Carlito, who stumbled into a Shelton Benjamin T-bone Suplex. Shelton made the cover for the win.
After the match Carlito and Flair argued up the ramp as RAW went to another commercial.
Next match was John Cena vs Rated RKO.
Edge and Cena started things off and the two exchanged moves before Cena connected with a fisherman's suplex and went for a cover. Cena grabbed a front face lock and a quick roll up for a two count. Edge forced Cena into the corner and raked the eyes to gain the advantage.
Orton tagged in and landed some mean right hands and laid the boots to Cena. Cena rushed Orton to the corner and did the old Chris Jericho whip/bulldog combo. Cena hit some forearms before getting a boot in the chin looking for a back body drop. The crowd got behind Orton and Orton turned around and got on their case. Nice gesture for him to try and get some heat off Cena.
Cena fought back with some punches and whipped Orton but Edge sneaked in a blind tag and dropped a mean elbow. Edge, unlike Orton, sucked up the crowd approval as we went to commercial.
*After the break*
We came back as Edge knocked Cena down onto the ring apron. Edge came off the ropes and shoulder blocked Cena off the apron into the Italian announce table. Orton tagged in and dropped Cena onto the table face first. Orton broke the ten count before gathering the former WWE Champion and tossing him back into the ring. Orton hit some punches to Cena's head and dragged him to the corner to tag in Edge who hit a soft kick to the gut.
Cena began to fight back a little bit with some big right hands but Edge floored him quickly with a big boot to the face. Edge kept hammering away at the head of the former WWE Champion while eating up the adulation from the crowd. Orton tagged in and hit a nice standing drop kick before clubbing away at Cena. No covers have been made, as the two want to punish Cena.
Orton dropped a knee on Cena's face before tagging Edge right back in. Cena grabbed Edge and went for an FU, but Edge wiggled out and hit the good old Edge-O-Matic. Haven't seen that in a while. Edge kept beating on Cena, hitting some nasty kicks to the head. Cena was picked up from his slumped over position on the ropes and perched up on the top rope in the corner. Edge mounted the second rope but Cena began to fight back a bit. He managed to knock Edge off the ropes and came off with a top rope leg drop.
Orton jumped right in and began hitting fore arms galore on Cena before HBK showed up. HBK low bridged Orton out of the ring and let Cena get into a groove and go into his victory sequence on Edge. Cena hit the five knuckle shuffle on Edge and looked for the FU. Orton popped back into the ring and hit a drop kick, knocking Edge into the referee.
Cena clattered into Orton and the three are out on their feet. Edge got to his feet first and looked for a spear. Edge missed Cena and nailed Orton before HBK missed Cena and nailed Edge with sweet chin music. Cena grabbed a stunned Michaels and nailed him with an FU before tending to Edge and making the cover for the win. Great ending.
As Cena's theme played, however. multiple wolf howls were heard and the Titantron went static a few times and glitched before showing john Cena's defeat at Bladewolf on the RAW after Survivor Series where he lost the WWE Championship.
"John Cena..." The crowd popped when hearing the Bladewolf's voice as Cena looked around for hi, the lights going to the sinister, blood red. "Our last meeting ended with you loosing that which I hold. Now, you've come back. You could not live with your own failure. Where did that bring you? Back to me..."
Four lightning bolts hit the turnbuckles, making fire shoot up and Cena jumps in surprise, looking around befor everything goes back to normal, leaving a confused and paranoid John Cena.
Later
The Bladewolf vs the Jackal was up next. Omen in the Sky hit in the arena and out comes the Jackal to a mixed reaction. He had no reaction on his face to facing his former tag team partner tonight.
Jackal enters the ring and his theme dies down as he waits for the Bladewolf.
OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!
The Devil's Wolf plays to a loud pop and the lights dim to a blood red, casting a sinister glow as the Bladewolf walks out with his WWE Championship around his waist. Once again, he had ditched the metallic, Predator-style mask now. He makes his way down the ramp and enters the ring over the top rope. he takes his title off and hands it to the referee who gives it to someone at ringside then calls for the bell.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
Bladewolf wastes no time in charging over and tackles Jackal into a corner, throwing lefts and rights as Jackal covers up. Bladewolf drives his knees relentlessly into Jackal's gut before pulling him close and hitting a belly-to-belly suplex. Jackal rolled out of the ring to gain his bearings as Bladewolf told him to bring it.
Jackal rolled into the ring and the two locked up with a test of strength before breaking it when neither could overpower the other. Bladewolf landed a right to Jackal's gut before driving his knee into his gut then applied a headlock takedown, landing a few rights to Jackal's skull before breaking the hold and drops an elbow onto Jackal's back. Bladewolf gets to his feet, grabs Jackal and Irish whips him off the ropes but they both meet with shoulder blocks that doesn't take them down. Jackal runs and rebounds off the ropes but Bladewolf got behind Jackal and hits a German Suplex, sending Jackal across the ring.
Bladewolf gets to his feet and walks towards the Jackal and stomps on his back before dragging him into the corner where he relentlessly stomps away before backing off. Bladewolf runs and crashes his knee into Jackal's body, pulls him away from the corner and goes for the cover. ONE! TWO! THR-! Jackal kicked out at two.
Bladewolf grabs Jackal in a waist lock before hitting a second German Suplex. He holds on as he then hits another German Suplex, then another, then another, and then another, hitting six in a row. Bladewolf lays on Jackal and drives his knees into Jackal's knees before hooking the leg but Jackal kicks out at two again. Bladewolf rolls out of the ring and looks underneath it, pulling out a steel chair and slides back into the ring, looking to hit Jackal...BUT JACKAL HITS A SPINEBUSTER OUT OF NOWHERE!
Jackal hooks the leg but Bladewolf kicks out at two. Jackal gets to his feet and stomps away on Bladewolf, dropping his knee to Bladewolf's gut. Jackal then picks up the steel chair and begins using it on Bladewolf, smacking the chair off his arms, legs, chest, back, anywhere he can hit to injure his opponent. Jackal then tosses the chair aside before picking Bladewolf up and gets him onto his shoulders but Bladewolf rights back with elbows to Jackal's head and then gets off before hitting a DDT out of nowhere.
Bladewolf slowly gets to his feet, using the ropes to help him. He runs and hits an elbow drop on Jackal's chest before hammering away at Jackal's skull violently until Jackal is busted open! Bladewolf smirks at the blood before continuing the assault and the referee pulls him away to check on Jackal who says he wants to go.
Bladewolf paces as Jackal slowly gets to his feet and runs at him, only to be taking down in a MMA style. Bladewolf knees Jackal in the side of the ribs before headbutting him multiple times, getting blood across his forehead. Bladewolf wipes it off before standing up, pulls Jackal to his feet and onto his shoulders... WHERE HE HITS THE WOLF'S HOWL! HE HOOKS THE LEG! ONE! TWO! THRE-! JACKAL KICKS OUT BEFORE THREE!
Bladewolf looked surprised but begins smirking before getting to his feet and grabs Jackal, tossing him out of the ring and follows him. Bladewolf grabs Jackal and then tosses him into the steel steps, causing Jackal to hold his shoulder. Bladewolf picks Jackal up and looks at the steel ring post, looking to bash Jackal's head off it...BUT JACKAL PUSHES BLADEWOLF HEAD FIRST INTO THE STEEL POST!
Jackal crawls away a bit as Bladewolf goes to a knee. Bladewolf shakes his head and stands up, still a little woozy. Jackal uses this chance to lull a sledgehammer out from underneath the ring...AND DRIVES IT INTO BLADEWOLF'S GUT!
Jackal tosses the hammer aside and grabs Bladewolf before bouncing his head off the announce table then tosses him over it. Jackal then looks underneath the ring and pulls out a ladder, a very tall one. Nodding to himself, Jackal sets the ladder up in front of the announce table before grabbing Bladewolf and tosses him onto the table. Jackal hits a few right hands to make sure Bladewolf stays down. Jackal then begins climbing up the ladder until he was at the top. He stands on the very top of the ladder and looks around as the crowd were cheering before he shrugged and jumped off...AND HITS AN ELBOW DROP—BLADEWOLF MOVES— THROUGH THE ANNOUNCE TABLE! JACKAL CRASHED INTO THE ANNOUNCE TABLE!
The crowd were cheering like crazy! 'Holy Shit! Holy Shit! Holy Shit!'
Bladewolf rolled onto his back and got to his feet, using the ring apron to get to his feet. Bladewolf flips his long hair back before walking over to Jackal, grabs him and tosses him into the ring. Bladewolf rolls into the ring and grabs Jackal, pulling him to his feet before grabbing him by the throat, lifts him up...AND HITS A CHOKESLAM! BLADEWOLF GOES FOR THE COVER! ONE! TWO! THRE-! JACKAL KICKS OUT!
Bladewolf holds his head in disbelief before getting to his feet and Bladewolf walks towards Jackal, looking to do more damage... BUT JACKAL HITS A LOW BLOW! Bladewolf falls to his knees as Jackal gets to his feet before getting Bladewolf in a headlock...AND HITS A DDT!
Jackal gets to his feet and grabs Bladewolf, scooping him onto his shoulder and positioning him upside down with Jackal holding him...BEFORE HITTING A TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER! HE HOOKS THE LEG! ONE! TWO! THRE- BLADEWOLF KICKS OUT!
Jackal slaps the mat in frustration. "STAY DOWN!" Jackal yells. Jackal rolls out the ring and picks up the sledgehammer he used before sliding back in.
The fans cheer as Jackal lines the sledgehammer with his skull before raising it...BUT BLADEWOLF HITS A DESPERATE LOW BLOW OUT OF NOWHERE! Jackal groans and falls to the ground, dropping the sledgehammer. Both men were down now.
Bladewolf is the first up to his feet and he grabs the sledgehammer, waiting for Jackal to face him...BEFORE BASHING IT OFF HIS SKULL! Bladewolf drops the sledgehammer and leans against the corner.
Bladewolf walks towards Jackal, looking to do more damage... BUT JACKAL HITS A LOW BLOW! Bladewolf falls to his knees as Jackal gets to his feet before getting Bladewolf in a headlock...AND HITS A DDT! Jackal gets to his feet before leaving the ring and looks underneath the ring and pulls out a table which he sets up before walking back over to Bladewolf and drags him over to the table and goes to toss him onto it but Bladewolf slides out of his grip.
Jackal turns...INTO A SUPERKICK! Jackal falls onto the table as Bladewolf leans against the apron before he begins climbing onto the top turnbuckle to a pop from the fans. Bladewolf reaches the top and looks around before looking then...THEN JUMPS OFF WITH A SHOOTING STAR PRESS! BLADEWOLF CRASHES ONTO JACKAL!
'HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT!' The fans chanted. 'THIS IS WRESTLING! THIS IS AWESOME! THIS IS WRESTLING! THIS IS AWESOME! THIS IS WRESTLING! THIS IS AWESOME!'
Jackal and Bladewolf slowly move in pain before both painfully get to their feet, Jackal stumbles back into the ring and Bladewolf follows, leaning against the apron for a moment before rolling back in.
Both men laid on their back before getting to their feet. Bladewolf scoops Jackal onto his shoulder... AND HITS THE TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER! Bladewolf lifts Jackal onto his shoulders again.. AND HITS A THIRD TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER! HE HOOKS THE LEGS! ONE! TWO! THREE! THE BLADEWOLF WINS!
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
The Devil's Wolf plays as Bladewolf stands tall. he is handed his WWE Championship and he raises it as RAW goes off the air...
