Braxton House
"I heard you had another chat with Tyler, how'd it go?" Ricky asks.
"Better than I thought it would." Brax says. "He's agreed to think about how he should act at work and was the first to say how wrong it was. I thought I was going to need to tell him about how angry Heath was, somehow he already knew that."
"Doesn't that sound like he was just saying it so you wouldn't have a go at him?" She says.
"I don't know, he seemed genuine and even went into the gym to see Heath once we finished talking. He also told the River Boys he was hanging out with before that something came up so he had to bail. I don't know what was said to Heath as I haven't seen him yet." Brax says, thinking it was an improvement from what he's dealt with before.
"What did the boys think about it?"
"Lucas was clearly upset thinking Tyler would choose him but didn't and I couldn't tell about Kyle. I don't think it bothered him too much but he doesn't want Lucas to be upset over it." Brax says. "I know Casey will be happy seeing the back of Tyler if he leaves soon. I just don't think we're going to get a break from all of this anytime soon."
"I think things will start changing soon, you just need to give it time to settle down. Kyle is finally in a great place with Emily, Heath is focused on this family again, Casey and Denny agreed to see where things go. If Tyler could do right by this family like Heath did, then Lucas will be happy as well." Ricky says. "None of this will be a quick fix."
"There's always something with this family, so I'm not being hopeful about a quick fix." Brax says. "What I don't get is why Tyler and Lucas moved down here without much thought when their mum is back in Cairns. I get they didn't have a great relationship with her, I just thought they would have mentioned her more."
"I think it's a rough topic for them, they seem to enjoy it more without her being mentioned. And I think she just made life a lot harder for them by what I could understand from what they've said." Ricky says. "I feel like Lucas is coming out of his shell a lot now. Since moving here, he's grown so much and I'm noticing him becoming more confident in himself, it's so great to see." She smiles.
"Well how about when all of this settles down, and this family can finally be at peace with each other, we set a date for our wedding." Brax says, smiling as she stares at him.
"What?" She frowns, not sure if she heard right from him. "You want to set a date for the wedding soon?"
"That's what I said." Brax nods. "Putting that ring on your finger made me realise a lot of things, I don't want to wait another few years before we get married. If this is going to be as quick a fix as you think it will be, then we won't have to wait long."
"I'm going to make sure it's a quick fix." She grins, hugging him tight. "Sometimes I don't recognise you."
"It won't last long." Brax mutters, laughing as she elbows him. "Just don't go blaming me if thinking of a date takes longer than you want. I want this mess with my brothers sorted out before the stress of a wedding gets added to it."
"Okay." Ricky nods. "Kyle and Lucas will be easy, they won't dare upset me. If I get Bianca onside, which will be easy, then Heath will get on board. That just leaves Casey and Tyler."
"I'll talk to Casey, he'll be easier to convince." Brax says.
"So who's going to talk to Tyler?" Ricky asks.
"Talk to Tyler about what?" Heath asks as he walks through the door with Bianca.
"Brax has said we can set a date for our wedding once things around here calm down." Ricky grins.
"Softie." Heath smirks at him.
"How exciting!" Bianca smiles.
"So what does that have to do with Tyler?" Heath asks.
"I need to know if he's going to be sticking around for longer causing trouble, or if he's going to go back to Cairns." Brax says. "I think if we know what he's planning, we'll be able to do more about our wedding."
"I don't think he's going to be a problem." Heath says. "He came to speak to me after his chat with you and apologised for his behaviour towards me, Casey and the gym. He said he's extended his stay at the caravan park and wants to make things right with this family. He's also told me he wants to keep his job at the gym and he'll take a pay cut to make up for the clients we lost." He explains, thinking it was a huge improvement.
"And you think he's being genuine?" Brax asks.
"You've seen Kyle when he's making things right for bad things he's done, Tyler was the exact same. I felt like I was actually talking to Kyle most of the time, he's completely different since you spoke to him." Heath says. "Turns out he has a huge crush on Denny but didn't want her to know, so things are going to be tricky on that front for a while. Although he did agree to make things right with Casey, I just told him to make sure one of us was around in case it kicks off again."
"Well that sounds like an improvement." Ricky says.
"Well why couldn't he just tell me that?" Brax shakes his head.
"Bro, you scare him!" Heath laughs.
"Yeah right." Brax scoffs. "That's why he's been a jerk towards the boys then is it?"
"Nah, you didn't scare him then. It wasn't until some of the boys told him what you're capable of that he got his guard up. Colby warned him about getting on your bad side and I think that is what's made him start to think about his behaviour recently." Heath says.
"I knew I could trust Colby for some stuff." Brax smirks.
"Did you tell him to say that?" Ricky asks him.
"No, I just asked him and Dean to keep an eye on Tyler when he's with the boys and tell me if anything is planned with him involved. The last thing I need is Tyler causing trouble with the law after what we've done to get a good reputation around town." Brax says.
"You know no one is going to change their opinion of you just because of Tyler's actions?" Bianca says.
"How'd you know that?" Brax asks.
"It may have come up in conversation when I was at the diner with Irene. Lucas and Kyle make up for Tyler's bad actions and they know you don't have any say in Tyler's ways. They're more impressed with how you can tell the boys apart." She says. "Alf is certainly in your corner, you have Lucas to thank for that."
"How come?" Ricky asks, not sure how Lucas would go about getting on Alf's good side.
"Apparently the other day he saw Alf struggling with one of the boat engines, so went to help him. He even offered him a job if working at Angelo's wasn't his thing." Bianca replies.
"He never mentioned this to us." Heath says. "But then again, he wouldn't want to upset the big fella by swapping Angelo's for Alf's bait shop." He smirks.
"If Lucas wanted to do that, I wouldn't stop him." Brax shrugs. "I think he likes it at the restaurant."
"Yeah, I think he does." Heath nods. "And as far as Tyler goes, he practically begged me to let him keep his job, so I think I won't have to find another personal trainer in a hurry."
"Just make sure Casey is on board before you go putting them on shift together, I don't need you complaining about losing even more clients." Brax says.
"Yeah I will. Casey said he'd be home soon, so maybe you could have the conversation with him about Tyler."
"I figured I would be the one to tell him. It's going to be hard if this Denny chick sticks around. The last thing we need in another Tamara situation." Brax rolls his eyes.
"What's the Tamara situation?" Bianca asks.
"A very long story but the short version is she was the girl both Kyle and Casey fell in love with and she wanted them both. She ended up being with both of them at different times and it caused huge arguments between them. In the end, they realised she was playing themor whatever, and she ended up leaving the Bay." Heath says.
"Sounds messy." Bianca says.
"It was." Heath says. "They got on better once she left, so that's a good thing. Somehow I don't think it's going to be as easy with Casey and Tyler."
"I'll have to talk to Casey before we even think about letting Tyler talk to him." Brax says, not needing another fight on his hands.
