Free Guy Trailer
"An unlikely hero huh?" Taiyang asked.
"Ooh! These are always fun." Yang said.
"Sounds familiar though." Ren said.
"We have seen a few universes with an unlikely hero." Glynda reminded.
"Yeah that's true." Nora said.
"Unlikely hero…a tale as old as time." Ozpin said with a smile.
Nanny Glynda started humming a song as soon as Ozpin said that and some looked at her in confusion. She floated up to Ghira and unfroze him as the man panted.
"Have you calmed down sir?" Nanny Glynda asked.
Ghira hugged his wife as she did the same and he merely nodded at her which made Nanny Glynda nod and float back to her seat as she continued to hum but this time she noticed the confused and surprised looks on most of their faces.
"Oh don't mind me, just reminiscing on some old friends." Nanny Glynda said as she ignored the confused looks and the eye rolls from her fellow gods.
"Right…so is this hero some cool, super awesome guy or girl?" Yang asked excitedly.
"Well…he's a guy." Bill responded.
"And?" Weiss asked.
"He's a guy…" Bill repeated.
"…That's it?" Ruby asked.
"Look just watch it and you can decide." Bill said as he teleported back to his seat and started the trailer.
"He's a guy, how is that enough information?" Glynda silently complained until Port shushed her.
"It's starting." Port whispered as Glynda grumbled.
The trailer began by showing a person skydiving towards a large city.
HERE COMES A WHOLE NEW WORLD
"Ooh, that must be him!" Nora exclaimed.
"Makes sense." Ren said.
A flaming helicopter was shown crashing through a building and exploding as a car flipped over another.
AND A BRAVE NEW HERO
"Is the city in a state of utter chaos?" Winter asked in surprise.
"Looks like it." Ironwood said.
"I bet the hero is gonna a super awesome guy with amazing superpowers or something." Ruby said with an enthusiastic grin.
"Kinda has to be if this is what's happening in his city." Robyn said.
Buildings were shown then the screen went dark and the sound of an alarm clock beeped. The screen illuminated to show Jaune Arc waking up and sitting upright on his bed with a happy smile on his face.
"Of course it's him." Mercury said with a face palm.
"Why is it always me?" Jaune groaned.
"Well you are the bravest out of all the students at Beacon." Ozpin said.
"Really?" Jaune asked.
"Really?" The other students asked.
"Yes, you came to Beacon untrained, lacking Aura, lacing any sort of social skills and with only basic equipment. I expected you to be dead in the first week." Ozpin said.
Jaune slumped "Gee, thanks."
"Hey what gives you the right to-" Saphron was about to shout but Ozpin beat her to the punch.
"But you do have heart, you work hard and use the few advantages you do have to the best of your abilities. That is why I consider you the bravest Mr. Arc, continue to do so and your path to becoming a Huntsman will be a rewarding one." Ozpin said as he sipped on his coffee.
Jaune grinned with a vigorous and elated nod "Yes sir!"
Glynda shook her head with a smile as she looked towards Ozpin 'Always full of surprises…'
Salem smirked at Ozpin 'Always full of surprises~'
Arc was shown opening his closet and picking out a shirt and pants out of a rack of the same shirt and pants.
"I would find that weird but we pretty much wear the same clothes outside of our uniforms." Blake said and she received many agreed murmurs.
"That's it! school field trip once we go back!" Coco exclaimed.
"Wait what?" Nora asked.
"You don't have the authorization to do that!" Glynda reprimanded.
"I don't need authorization to answer to a call of need! All of us will be going clothes shopping!" Coco exclaimed.
"Oh no." Velvet muttered.
"You poor kids." Fox said with a sympathetic sigh.
"Hope you have strong legs because you will be on your feet the whole day." Yatsuhashi said.
"That sounds…" Pyrrha tried to say.
"Like a total waste of good study time." Weiss said for her.
"It's cute that you think you have a choice." Coco said with a smirk.
Arc did a quick twirl as he went to change off screen.
"How can someone be so happy in the morning?" Qrow asked.
"He's not human." Cardin said with wide eyes, he never woke up with a smile on his face.
Arc was shown walking out of his apartment as he looked around the streets.
"Did that door just have the words apartment building inscribed onto them?" Blake asked.
"I noticed that too, what kind of landlord is that lazy?" Emerald asked.
People in the background were shooting up in the sky. A man was walking along the street with a flamethrower and Arc was shown looking at a person on a zip line that was firing a gun as he shot a rocket to building and it exploded as a man on fire fell out and screamed.
"What is wrong with this city!?" Whitley exclaimed.
"It looks fun." Yang said with a smile and some adults gave her looks "What? It's true."
"This place is pure and utter chaos!" Jacques exclaimed.
"My kind of city." Tyrian said with an excited grin.
"Jaune needs to move." Ren said.
A person was shown dancing right next to a dead body.
"Oh come on! That's just disrespectful!" Sun exclaimed.
Neo silently giggled, she may have danced once she had taken down her enemies a few times.
"Hm, weird." Ruby said.
"What's weird." Jaune asked.
"It's just all of this stuff only seems to happen in a video game." Ruby explained.
"A video game? Seriously?" Vernal asked with an unamused look.
"Hey you've never played Gang Crime Cars online; people can be crazy in video games." Ruby said with a shake of her head.
"I hear that sis." Yang fist bumped her sis with the same disappointed look Ruby had.
"I still regret buying you that game." Taiyang said.
"Why? They didn't do anything wrong." Qrow said.
"No but you did! What made you think that driving my car off a building would make it miraculously intact after words!?" Taiyang shouted.
Qrow shrugged as he chugged down his beer and burped "Worked in Gang Crime Cars: San Atlas."
Arc walked along the pavement with Sun, who was in a security guard uniform, with coffees in hand until Junior was suddenly launched through a glass window and a man holding a stack of cash ran off
"Oh ho!" Arc exclaimed in amusement as he helped Junior up "Monday's am I right Junior?"
"You said it Arc." Junior said as he walked back into the store.
"Wait that's it!?" Junior exclaimed.
"Why was just okay with getting thrown out of a window?" Cinder asked.
"I think it's because they live in so much chaos that even things like that are normal to them." Penny suggested.
"What a way to live." Sienna said with an interested look.
A truck guzzling out money was shown driving off as a cop car chased it.
"Just like a mission in GCC." Ruby said.
"Coincidence?" Yang asked.
"Maybe." Ruby responded.
"Don't have a good day, have a great day." Arc said as he stamped on a paper and slid it to a woman within a bank.
"Oh so he's a bank clerk in this one." Raven said.
"Respect." Roman said.
"Why the respect?" Jaune asked.
"Kid with the amount of crap I put those clerks through on a weekly basis, I respect them for still going to work." Roman said.
Cardin was shown entering the bank and shooting the roof with a shotgun.
"EVERBODY DOWN ON THE GROUND!" Cardin shouted and everybody looked unaffected as the complied.
"Turned to a life of crime I see." Ozpin said.
"I wouldn't do that sir." Cardin said as he rolled his eyes.
"Why's he shouting?" Militia asked.
"He's loud." Melanie commented.
"Amateur." Roman said as he shook his head "You have to be calm when robbing banks so that they know you're in control. Shouting only makes you look nervous, it's like he's never robbed a bank before."
"I never robbed a bank." Cardin said.
Roman scoffed "Clearly."
Sun shrugged as he took off his belt and got on the ground with Arc as they had their legs up.
"Of course the security guard is not gonna do anything." Weiss rolled her eyes as the ridiculousness.
"Hey bud, you ever think that there's gotta be…more?" Arc asked as he was shown walking along the chaotic streets and suddenly he gets punched in the face by a passerby though Arc just moved his facial features.
This brought some chuckles from some of the cast.
"More to what?" Sun asked as a cop and a man in a pink rabbit costume were shown walking together and summoning guns in their hands.
"Stuff we do, day after day." Arc continued.
"A question asked by many with very little knowing the answers." Nicholas said.
"Did those guys just summon guns into their hands!?" Neptune exclaimed.
"Awesome!" Sun, Yang and Nora shouted.
"Okay I'm just gonna say it! this is a video game!" Ruby exclaimed.
"A video game?" Oscar asked.
"Yeah! The chaos, the weapons! This place is a video game and I think Jaune and Sun just don't know it." Ruby explained.
"Could be a possibility." Salem said.
"We have seen some pretty crazy things, so that theory couldn't be far off." Qrow said.
Weiss rolled her eyes "Please! A video game? That's ridiculous even from you."
"Fine! You'll see!" Ruby said as she crossed her fingers with a determined look as she looked at the screen.
"Being shot at!" Arc said as guys with guns were shown shooting up in the air as Arc watched Ruby walk away as a rocket was shot in front of her and it blew up.
"Yeah getting shot at isn't normal." Whitley said.
"Unless you're us." Ruby said and most of the room nodded and let out words of agreement.
"Run over." Arc said as he was shown getting hit by a high speed car and bouncing onto an oncoming taxi then landing on the ground.
"Ooh!" Sun exclaimed as he cringed.
"NO! Jaune!" Pyrrha exclaimed as she held onto the Jaune next to her.
"Too tight! Too tight!" Jaune exclaimed as he heard a crack.
"Seriously Jaune, why the hell were you standing in the middle of the street!?" Saphron exclaimed.
"I don't think he can answer you right now." Yang said as she looked at how blue Jaune was turning.
Pyrrha noticed and blushed as she let go of him "S-sorry Jaune…"
Jaune huffed and heaved "I-It's cool…I'm good."
"Taken hostage!" Arc said as Hazel entered the bank with a shot gun.
"Everybody down on the ground!" Hazel shouted as he let out a shot and a masked man also let out a shot which hit the glass window by the counter.
"Seriously guys! You don't have to shout, the gun already does enough." Roman said in exasperation.
"We're not as well versed in criminal activities like you Torchwick." Hazel said.
"Then learn!" Roman shouted "There is multiple CCTV footage of me, study them!"
"Today's gonna be different." Arc said as he had a determined look on his face.
"C'mon hero, show em what you got." Coco said.
"We believe in you…" Velvet said quietly.
Arc shot up and looked at the masked man "Hi."
Arc was shown getting beat up and thrown onto the ground by the masked robber as he pointed his shotgun at him.
Ironwood sighed "At least you tried."
"Arc this isn't you! You don't do this man." Sun said from behind the counter.
"Says the security guard whose job is supposed to be doing what he's doing." Robyn said.
"Hey I'd rather not die for a bank that apparently gets robbed on a daily basis." Sun said.
"Smart, your cowardice lets you live another day." Adam said.
"Maybe I do." Arc said as he's nose bled.
Arc stood up and grabbed the robber's shot gun and they had a struggle as Arc was pushed against the counter.
"This is scary." Arc said as Sun nodded.
"It always is, but who else is gonna do it?" Winter asked with a shrug.
Arc was shown firing the shotgun and the robber was blasted away as Arc held the robber's glasses in front of him.
This earned some surprised looks and some jaws dropped at the surprise win and Tyrian clapped as he laughed.
Everyone in the bank as shocked as Arc blinked in disbelief.
"He's just resting." Arc said though by his tone, you could tell he didn't even believe himself.
"In pieces!" Sun exclaimed as the robber was shown lying dead with a large hole in his stomach "That man is dead!"
"He's so sleepy." Arc said, ignoring what Sun was saying and denying the truth.
"Jaune he's dead!" Yang shouted as she laughed.
"Good job?" Ruby asked as she chuckled.
"At least you weren't that injured." Saphron said in relief.
"He's in shock isn't he?" Summer asked.
"Yup." Taiyang answered.
Arc ran out of the bank and put on the glasses as a load of information was shown in his perspective. He took off the glasses in shock and put them on once more as he looked around seeing different stats and levels of people and items. A nearby building suddenly sprouted a giant torrent that shot up in the sky and aimed for passing jets.
"It is a video game! I told you! I so told you!" Ruby shouted as she laughed at Weiss' unamused face.
"Fine, fine. You were right, congratulations." Weiss said as she rolled her eyes.
"So this Jaune lives in a video game world?" Emerald asked.
"Man that's so cool! Why couldn't it be me!?" Mercury shouted.
"Yeah, why do I have to live in sucky old Remnant." Roman said with a pout.
"It seems like those glasses allow you to experience then world as it is, a game." Ozpin said.
"Then how come Jaune doesn't have one?" Nora asked.
Ruby face palmed "Hello Ruby! This Jaune is an NPC."
"A nick nack patty wack?" Nicholas asked.
"What? No! what even is that!?" Ruby asked as Nicholas shrugged.
"NPC's are basically the extra background characters in the game that are just there to fulfill a certain task." Blake said.
"Wait the hero of this story is an NPC!?" Cinder exclaimed.
"Unique." Ozpin commented.
Arc saw a health pack on the street and walked towards it. He lifted the glasses and the pack disappeared, then put them on again and it reappeared. He kept doing this a few more times until he stopped and reached for the pack. His body glowed a blue aura and he wiggled around a bit but his face was completely fixed afterwards.
"I wish we had health packs." Ruby said.
"Life would be so much less…painful." Jaune said.
"Suck it up, you have aura." God Raven said with an eye roll.
"Woo!" Arc shouted as he approached a car and someone rolled their windows down "Is this what recreational drugs feel like?"
The car drove off as Arc slapped the back.
"Someone's happy." Roman said as he chuckled.
"He just discovered a whole new side to his world, wouldn't you?" Cinder asked.
"True." Roman agreed.
'Video game Arc is funny.' Neo wrote as she silently giggled.
"Arc, this world. It's a video game." Ruby voiced over as she was shown entering a garage full of vehicles with Arc then she was shown loading a gun and firing it.
THE WORLD NEEDS A HERO
"At least Ruby's got his back, she's the biggest game nerd I know." Yang said.
"Hey! Just because I know a lot about them doesn't make me a game nerd!" Ruby shouted.
"Anyone who knows a lot about a specific subject is a nerd of that subject." Yang said with a shrug "No offense."
"All of it taken!" Half of the theater exclaimed with glares towards her.
Arc was shown walking past a chaotic scene of people that seemed to be frozen in time.
"And its full of bad guys." Ruby said as Mercury was shown childishly lifting his legs onto a desk.
"I'm a rule breaker, I'm a rattle chika chika snake-a." Mercury rapped as Oscar shook his head.
"No Merc!" Emerald said as she face palmed "Just no."
"Even I gotta admit that was bad." Mercury said as he cringed.
"I dig it." Ghira said with a slight bob of the head and an amused smile.
"Of course you would." Blake said with a sigh.
IT'S GETTING AN ARC
"We need you to be the good guy." Ruby said as Arc pointed at himself unsurely and citizens of Free City ran along the streets in fear.
"They're doomed." Cinder said.
"Have a little faith at least." Pyrrha stated hopefully.
"Honey, he's no Captain Vale." Cinder responded.
A man aimed to stab Arc but he dodged and trapped the man's arm with a steering wheel, he brought the arm down and hit it with his knee, snapping it upwards as the man screamed.
"Augh! I'm sorry! Oh Oum!" Arc gagged as the man stood up straight and Arc hit him with the wheel as Ruby was shown firing a rocket launcher.
"Yes! Don't apologize, embrace the feeling!" Tyrian exclaimed happily.
"Do you think Arc's just doing this because of the glasses?" Glynda asked as she looked towards Ozpin.
"I theorize that the glasses grant Arc the move sets of the previous owner or at least some form of power when it comes to the stats he has." Oobleck interjected.
"The dude doesn't even know what he's doing but he's that strong!" Sun exclaimed.
"That's scary." Scarlet said.
Arc and Ruby were shown back to back as players appeared and surrounded them. A motorcycle was revved as Arc rode it in front of Ruby and the group.
"Wow!" Arc exclaimed "Giddy up!"
"This seems like a fun adventure." Yatsuhashi said.
"It's a video game, it's always gonna be fun." Ruby said with a grin.
Ruby jumped over a man and did a flip, landing onto the motorcycle and in front of Arc.
"Is that a glock in your pocket?" Ruby asked.
"Oh?" Yang asked with a growing smirk as Taiyang's smile slowly faded.
"No." Arc responded.
"Oh~" Yang said with a full smirk as Ruby started to blush while Taiyang's eyes started to twitch.
"What?" Ruby asked.
"It's two glocks." Arc said as Ruby smirked and reached down to his pants.
"Oh!" Arc said in surprise.
Jaune had his jaw dropped while Ruby was as red as her cape and Taiyang's teeth could be heard being grit as he clamped his hands down on Jaune's shoulder.
"Touch my daughter and I kill you, got it?" Taiyang asked.
"Got it." Jaune said with a mouse like voice.
Taiyang's grip tightened but then he let go "Good."
"Honey that wasn't fair, they're going to start dating anyway. They're teenagers." Summer whispered as she cast a sympathetic look to the frightened Jaune who was rubbing his shoulder.
Taiyang sighed "I know, but…I just don't want my babygirl to get hurt."
"I know and that makes you a great father but they have to experience new things like relationships." Summer said.
"You're just saying that because you want grand kids." Taiyang said.
"Yes I am but I also want our girls to be happy, like how I'm happy with you." Summer said.
Taiyang sighed "Fine, I'll go easy but that doesn't mean I won't be testing these boys or girls."
Summer kissed him on the cheek "That's all I ask."
Ruby pulled out both the glocks and started firing at the players as Arc spun the motorcycle in place but as more men with guns entered the room, he drove towards the window and crashed through it as Ruby continued to fire at the men.
"Okay I'm not gonna lie, that's a cool shot." Coco said.
FREE ARC
"Ah, an NPC being free. Smart." Ironwood said.
"Sounds a campaign to free Jaune from prison." Yang said with a giggle.
"Kinda." Jaune said.
"I'm not gonna be the good Arc," Arc said as he was shown putting on the glasses and looking determined then he was shown talking to Ruby "I'm gonna be the great Arc."
Ruby faked a surprised gasp as she pats him on the arm "Well enjoy your lifetime supply of virginity, off you go!"
"Kinda sounding hypocritical there ain'tcha Rubes?" Yang asked.
"Shut up Yang!" Ruby shouted as her sister and a few laughed.
Bill floated up to the front with the remote in hand.
"So what'd you think?" Bill asked.
"It's an interesting universe which proves that there are still a lot of crazy things we've yet to see." Ozpin said.
"Exactamundo wizard!" Bill exclaimed.
"I never thought I'd be this interested to see if an NPC lives or not." Neptune said.
"You and me both man." Sun said with a chuckle.
"So what's next Cipher?" Winter asked.
"Well-" Bill was about to say but the lights were suddenly turned off and everything went dark "What the heck?"
"Did the power go out or something?" Yang asked.
"No of course not! We're running this place through my powers, we have all the power in existence." Bill said as he looked around in the dark until the sound of an ominous piano and chord rang around them and the screen turned on as it was blank white.
"No, no, no, no, no…" Nanny Glynda muttered in fear as she shook.
"Damn it…" God Raven muttered with a glare.
"What's going on?" Ruby asked.
"Yeah, what's up with you guys?" Yang asked.
Bill widened his eye as the screen twisted into a red portal and thousands of red balloons floated out and covered the entire theatre. After a few moments of everyone screaming and shouting, the balloons started to go back to the portal. Once all of them were gone, the screen turned white again.
"What the hell was that about!?" Qrow shouted as he looked around.
"Guys! Bill is gone!" Ruby shouted.
"Nanny Glynda too!" Jaune exclaimed.
"God Raven also!" Vernal shouted.
They heard a laugh as the screen started to get covered in red writing which matched a voice as it spoke to them.
"Hello~ A special day is coming up, one where you can't run~"
"Guys this is freaking me out." Oscar said in fear.
"Oh we're going to have so much fun~"
"I don't wanna have fun." Jaune said in fear and the others agreed.
"In a few days' time, Ruby happy birthday to you~"
"It's that time already!?" Yang exclaimed in shock.
"My birthday's coming up…" Ruby said.
"How does this person know? Who are you!?" Taiyang shouted.
"We all float down here Ruby, You'll float too~"
