The Pier Diner
"Where's everyone else?" Casey says as he sits down next to Brax, Tyler sitting opposite them.
"It's just going to be us." Brax says, Casey faintly rolling his eyes.
"Make this quick, I have a shift soon." He says.
"Tyler, do you want to start?" Brax asks.
"I wouldn't know how." Tyler lightly shrugs.
"How about what's going to be happening with you and your job at the gym, then take it from there." Brax says. "I'm just here to stop a fight from starting."
"Okay, well I did a lot of thinking after our talk the other day and then the talk I had with Heath." Tyler starts, noticing Casey frown at what was spoken about, and why it was just him there with them. "I really want to be a part of this family, and I know I haven't shown it since I moved here but I really want to try now."
"Yeah right." Casey scoffs, getting elbowed in the side by Brax, who glares at him.
"Hear him out so I can marry Ricky, or don't come to the wedding." Brax warns, not wanting to put his life with Ricky on hold just because of them.
"You'd ban me from going?" Casey asks.
"I will not have Ricky's big day ruined because you two can't get along. It's going to mean the world to her and I'll stop people from going if I have to." Brax firmly says, he'd do anything to make her happy, whatever it would be.
"Fine, carry on." Casey glares at Tyler.
"I've been a dick, I'm not denying that. I like Denny, I just didn't think she'd be with a guy like me so wanted to stay friends. Then I found out she'd been dating you and it hurt knowing I wouldn't have a chance with her. I shouldn't have been so harsh about it, it was stupid and I'm going to apologise to her when I see her next." Tyler says. "I really like working at the gym and Heath said I can keep my job if I really want to stay here. I'm happy living at the caravan park until I can find my own place somewhere close to Lucas and Kyle, so I can see them more."
"What's this got to do with me?" Casey asks. "I don't care where you live, as long as you stay away from me."
"I was stupid for starting that fight with you just because I couldn't be honest with Denny from the start. I'm sorry, can you please just forgive me or whatever so we can start being civil again, maybe even brothers?"
"How many more things have to happen before you stop begging for forgiveness?" Casey asks, and Brax knew he had a fair point so kept quiet.
"I'm trying to make things right, is that not good enough?"
"Not when you keep doing stupid stuff that needs forgiveness." Casey glares. "I would say you can have a second chance, but how many of them have you already had since moving here? Either way it would be wasting everyone's time, unless you actually think about how much you're hurting Lucas by being such a dick and change your ways for him. A real brother would think about their feelings." He says, standing up and walking out to get to his shift.
"You're going to let him talk to me like that after I tried making things right?" Tyler asks.
"Casey has a point, Tyler." Brax says. "You haven't been the one trying to cheer Lucas up, trying to take his mind off the arguments and fights you've been causing, we have. Kyle has given up spending time with his girlfriend just to try and help Lucas know that one of his triplets cares about him. Having been the one who brought him up, it should be your job."
"You know nothing about how I brought Lucas up!" Tyler shouts, attracting the attention of some of the other people in the diner.
"No, I might not know everything but I know what it's like to bring brothers up!" Brax retorts, getting fed up with Tyler's attitude and not seeming to care about his own brother's feelings. "You need to get off your high horse and start realising the world doesn't revolve around you and maybe you'll have your triplets in your life. I don't care who you think you are, you don't go near Kyle or Lucas until you realise how much you've let them down." He firmly says, standing up to leave.
"You can't stop me from seeing them!" Tyler glares, shooting out of his seat to face him.
"You just watch me! Cause let me tell you this, I know where they would rather be right now, and that's not with you. So either you back down or get out of the Bay, and don't even think about crossing the line again or you'll have me to deal with." Brax warns, turning to walk to the door.
"You'll all regret this!" Tyler hisses.
"Say that again." Brax firmly says, pinning him against the wall. "Say it."
"Brax, leave him to it." Alf says, now at their side. "He's only doing it to get a reaction."
"Back off old man!" Tyler glares.
"Get out." Brax hisses, slamming Tyler against the wall before shoving him harshly towards the door. "If I see you around here again, you'll wish you never left Cairns."
"I'm not leaving without Lucas or Kyle. I'm their big brother, you won't ever be." Tyler glares before storming out of the door.
"Sorry about that." Brax says to Alf and Irene.
"He seems like a piece of work." Alf says. "I would never have guessed young Lucas was brought up by him."
"Heath told me he's been hard to control, you've done your best." Irene says. "I don't think there's any doubt who Kyle and Lucas will choose to stay with."
"I don't think it's going to be that simple." Brax mutters.
"You know you've got us on your side, you've done a great job with your brothers and young Lucas couldn't speak more highly of you the other day." Alf says.
"Really?" Brax frowns.
"Don't seem so surprised." Irene smiles. "When Heath lived at mine, he was grateful for the ultimatum you gave him as it made him realise that family is what he wanted most. You impact their lives more than you know and they're lucky to have someone that cares about them."
"Don't think your tough guy act can fool us." Alf chuckles as he sits back down at his table with Roo, who just walked in to join him.
"Has Ricky been in here talking about me by any chance?" Brax asks.
"Let's just say she has more planned for your wedding than you may know about." Irene says as Leah walks out from the kitchen.
"Oh, are you talking about the wedding?" She asks, Irene nodding. "Some of those dresses were to die for!"
"So when is it happening?" Roo asks.
"We haven't talked about it yet, maybe sooner than we think." Brax says.
"I never thought I'd see the day a Braxton got married." Irene says.
"I never thought I'd see the day that Kyle was a triplet, I guess things around here change." Brax says. "Anyway, I'm sure Ricky will give you more details so I'll leave you to it." He smirks as he leaves.
Surf Club - Angelo's
"Anything you want to tell me?" Brax asks his soon to be wife as he leans against the bar.
"About what?" Ricky asks, handing some drinks over to Lucas to take to a table.
"Well I've just come from the diner and they seem to think you've already been looking at dresses and planning other parts." Brax says, trying not to smile at her guilty expression.
"I may have got a little carried away but I'm excited!" She grins.
"Well maybe we've got some conversations to have."
"About what?"
"When it's going to happen."
"Are you getting married soon?" Lucas asks as he walks back over to the bar.
"Were you listening to our conversation?" Brax asks.
"No, it's rude to listen in on other people's conversations." Lucas says. "But this is an exciting conversation and we've got nothing else to look forward to for a while."
"For a while?" Ricky questions.
"Well me and Kyle turning 21 is pretty big. Did you forget that's coming around quite fast?" Lucas asks.
"How could I possibly forget?" Brax lightly rolls his eyes, having heard them talking about it with Casey and Emily.
"It's still a while away yet so you don't have to worry about planning anything just yet. You've got your wedding date to set and choosing your best man." Lucas says. "Heath and Casey had an argument about which of them was going to be the best man but I wasn't meant to tell you that." He says before going to get some beers from the fridge
"How about we go and talk about a few things in the office?" Ricky suggests to Brax, who nods, thinking it was best.
