Oh you've got to be kidding me!?
When she had told them that she needed to go out really quick to gather some research material never in a million years did she think this is what she meant….okay scratch that. The more she thinks about it the more this feels right. The stacks of dvds littering her living room floor. The sound of her best friend humming from the kitchen as she stands by a microwave just waiting for the popcorn to be finished popping. Yep this is exactly how she pictured it. It was such a Kitty thing to do.
Well mind as well see what the little firecracker brought over here.
Rising up out of her seat moving down to park herself on the ground next to two very impressive stacks of dvds reaching out to grab the first dvd from the first stack turning it over Ember's eye brows immediately raise up in silent amusement.
Rocky? Oh you've got to be kidding me? Rocky 2,Rocky 3,Rocky 4,Rocky 5….jesus christ! It's like a fricken stack dedicated to Stallone movies!
She could now see just what Kitty meant by having a movie/research night. Every single one of these action movies consists of different fighting styles. Boxing to kung fu. Kickboxing to karate. An action fan's paradise and the more she thinks about it maybe just maybe this isn't such a bad idea. Such a thought that would often make Ember shiver just thinking about but perhaps this time Kitty is right. Perhaps she is right to have them have a research night before this big event is to take place but personally she thinks her best friend just wants to get her hands on free food. A best friend the moment she hears whistling she turns away from the dvd cover in her hand finding the green haired ghost humming a silent tune to herself before she plops herself down in her vacated seat on the couch with a bowl of popcorn in her lap.
" And engage!"
Pointing her right hand directly at Ember only to receive nothing but a questionable look in her eyes despite her face showing nothing but annoyance rolling her eyes without missing a beat Kitty raises her feet up to lay them down on top of the living room table earning nothing but a scowl from her best friend.
" You know when i made the mistake long ago telling you to make yourself at home, I didn't actually mean to act like this place is your home."
Sticking her tongue out at her reaching into the bowl to grab a lone piece of popcorn out with a flick of her fingers Kitty sends the lone piece up into the air before she catches it and smiles sweaty down towards Ember. A best friend that if looks could kill she would be kissing her afterlife goodbye ten times over but she wasn't afraid. No Ember would never do that to her but best to stay on her goodside. The mere thought of being on the receiving end of an angry Ember Mclain makes her want to cry and as such keeping a brave face on Kitty lowers her feet to the ground causing Ember to give her one last look before she turns her back on her to take out the dvd out of its case making her sigh in relief. A sigh that doesn't go unnoticed as she feels a pair of eyes watching her making her turn to see Danny looking at her with nothing but amusement. This amusement that just makes her smile as she reaches back into the popcorn bowl before with a flick of her fingers once again she sends a lone piece soaring up into the air only this time it lands into the halfa's waiting mouth.
" So pray tell what is this genius plan of yours again?"
Turning her attention back towards an approaching Ember scooting across the couch allowing a cushion to open up between her and Danny popping another piece of popcorn in her mouth taking a few moments to chew the piece down Kitty glances over towards Ember with a wide grin.
" Oh that's easy. As you can see I ransacked my entire dvd collection for any action movies that might help us for this research project. Unfortunately i couldn't find any…."
Rolling her eyes at this scooting over until she can use his shoulder as her own personal tucking her feet under her with a sigh Ember rests her head gently down on Danny's shoulder. Why wasn't she surprised? She should have known her best friend didn't own anything like these movies. Her realm practically screams teen drama and romantic comedy movies! So if she didn't own any of these movies then just where did she….
" So I did the next best thing and visited a couple of stores in Amity Park."
Popping another piece of popcorn in her mouth seeing nothing but the main menu screen of the dvd popping up with the play option blinking turning to look towards the wielders of the remote Kitty is met with a pair of accusing looks. These looks that don't faze her as Kitty looks back and forth between Ember's and Danny's faces just waiting for them to break the silence.
" What?"
" And when you say visited these stores you mean visited not robbed right?"
Rolling her eyes waving her right hand like it's no big deal popping another piece of popcorn in her mouth Kitty leans back in her seat looking rather proud of herself.
" Oh please! I would never do such a thing. What kind of girl do you think i am?"
Not getting the desired reaction she was looking for and instead receiving the opposite from the now pointed looks she is receiving letting out a huff turning to look directly ahead Kitty crosses her arms over her chest and raises her chin up high in defiance.
" Gee thanks for the vote of confidence. It warms my heart knowing my two best friends trust me that much."
Sparing a glance down towards them seeing neither of them are convinced by her words turning her sights back towards the ceiling deciding to mentally count up to ten as she gets up to five instantly Kitty breaks her composure by reaching back into the popcorn bowl to grab a handful of popcorn out and stuff her face causing a couple of loose pieces to fall down onto the carpet down below as she starts to chew rather loudly. This sound that just makes Ember's left eye start to twitch before just as she is about to point her right hand out intending to get her best friend a dose of reality a hand coming down to rest on her forearm makes her snap her head around to send Danny an accusing look. To send him this look of outrage for daring to interrupt what she has planned before the look disappears when she sees the knowing smirk on his face. A look that makes her eyes widen before her lips curve up into a grin when he gives her a wink and he raises his left hand slightly up to point his index finger at Kitty. A finger that lights up for only a second before instantly Kitty jumps up from her seat spilling the popcorn bowl on the ground as she immediately starts to rub her butt cheek. A scene that just makes Ember's grin widen even further before she pays Danny an amused look and watches him lower his arm back down and around her waist.
" Huh? Would you look at that? We haven't even started to watch the first movie and i'm already learning."
Sending the halfa a murderous look hearing nothing but rushing feet glancing down instantly as she finds Cujo munching happily on the popcorn littered on the ground while his tail wags like crazy giving Danny one last look Kitty retakes her seat with her arms crossed over her chest.
" Ha,ha,ha. That's so mature of you."
Letting out an unladylike snort reaching across to snag the dvd player's remote off from the living room table with a click Ember starts the movie before she returns back into her comfortable position by Danny's side.
" That's rich coming from you."
" And what does that mean?"
" What does that mean she says? Uh girlfriend aren't you the one that practically just spelled it out for us that you robbed a couple of movie stores?"
" Ah,ah,ah. I never used the word rob. For your information I'm only borrowing them. Besides its not like they will notice anyways."
" Some would call that stealing."
" You say tomato, I say tomato."
Oh this has got to be the stupidest thing, I've ever heard.
It is official her best friend is insane and to top it all off she is dragging her and her boyfriend along with her for the ride. She should have known watching all those boxing movies would spring along ideas like theses. Just knew deep down the moment she had seen the first scene that her best friend would tuck it away in her memory to use for later. She just never thought she would actually do it. Never thought in her wildest dreams that her best friend would have put so much thought into this let alone find a place like this and yet here they are now. Sitting on top of a metal fence out in the middle of nowhere staring down towards a sleeping rodeo bull. If she was being honest the biggest fricken bull she has ever seen.
Your hubby needs speed, she says. Let's go to a rodeo, she says. Why do I keep listening to her suggestions?
A question she keeps asking herself. Maybe she got dropped on her head as a baby? Maybe it was because she was her very first ghost friend….hell that's not the truth. If she was being honest she is the very first friend she ever made. That just has to be why she always agrees to most of her crazy ideas right?
And my poor Babypop is gonna be on the receiving end of this one. Literally….
It is crazy! Did Kitty know you are to never anger a raging bull? Especially a bull that is sound asleep? But noooo this was part of the plan. This two week long plan to get Danny ready for Ghost Wars. That is if Kitty doesn't somehow manage to kill him first.
" You realize how crazy this is right?"
Grinning down at the sleeping bull without bothering to look away Kitty nods her head as she starts to swing her feet back and forth freely on the fence.
" Yeah ain't it cool?"
Immediately snapping his attention away from the sleeping bull to look over Ember's shoulder at Kitty with an outraged look before he has a chance to say anything the sound of the bull snorting down below makes Danny turn his attention back downwards towards the bull and gulp his throat nervously.
" Easy for you to say. You're not gonna be the one that is about to be chased by a raging bull."
Shrugging her shoulders looking to her left at the nervous looking couple giving them her best smile Kitty looks past Ember towards Danny to give him a pointed look.
" It was either this or getting chased by a raging Cujo. Which one would you prefer?"
" Neither!"
Instantly reaching out to cover his mouth with her gloved hand nervously looking down finding to her relief the bull still sound asleep sighing in relief removing her hand from Danny's mouth Ember sends a glare Kitty's way.
" And you do realize if something were to happen…."
" Yeah,yeah,yeah. If something happens to your Babypop you'll roast me like a Thanksgiving turkey. I've heard it all before…."
" And this time i'll make it a reality."
Rolling her eyes floating over towards them manoeuvring herself until she is floating behind them with a gentle shove Kitty pushes Danny off from the fence and into the fenced area causing him to quickly regain his composure mid flight and land down on his feet before he hits the ground. A simple motion that earns her a look of outrage from Ember that she ignores in favor of floating down towards the door to the locked caged door before with a silent click she unlocks the door and pulls the gate wide open causing Danny's eyes to immediately turn to look towards the bowed head of the sleeping bull. A bull now that he is down at it's level looks so much bigger than it looked before. Looks monstrous. Looks enormous making him gulp his throat as his skin pales noticeably. Something that doesn't go unnoticed by Ember as her eyes widen before immediately her eyes look down to meet his own.
" Blue Flame if you get me out of this, I promise i'll never disobey anything you ever say again."
Snapping her eyes away to look at the sleeping bull gulping her throat nodding her head furiously Ember turns her attention back towards Danny giving him a weak smile.
" Sounds good."
Turning to her right intending to call this whole thing off seeing Kitty nowhere in sight immediately glancing around seeking her out after only a few seconds movement out of the corner of her eye catches Ember's attention making her look back down towards the cage down below. A cage that now has two occupants as Kitty stands directly behind the sleeping bull with her hand starting to glow bright green. Quickly snapping her fingers catching her attention as she shakes her head to her horror Ember can only watch as Kitty nods her head as she rears her hand back.
Muuhhhrrr!
She couldn't watch and yet her arms remain pinned at her sides. Her eyes remain wide open in silent horror as she watches this raging bull smash against the sides of its cage in nothing but anger while its eyes search for what had disturbed its sleep. Eyes that immediately find Danny making him gulp deeply as he pales like a ghost before within seconds he takes off running as fast as his legs will take him as the bull shoots out of the cage chasing after him.
Oh my god,oh my god,oh my god….
Scratching the back of her neck nervously letting out a weak chuckle putting on a brave face despite the immense fear she is feeling inside from the withering glare she is receiving from an irate Ember from her spot near the living room couch where a flipped over Danny is laying face down with numerous ice packs across his back Kitty forces a smile across her face.
" Okay maybe that wasn't the best of ideas."
Staring unmoving at Kitty except for the way the fingers on her left gloved hand keep cracking from this raw energy trickling out from her fingertips hearing nothing but nervous laughter as her best friend slowly backs up out of the room Ember follows her movements like a hawk.
" I'm just gonna….bye!"
Parting words that quickly come out before a small energy ball hits the wall where she once was making her stop at the closed realm door and wipe the sweat dripping down from her forehead before a cold chill runs up and down Kitty's spine as though she is being watched. This feeling that makes her whimper as she slowly turns her head to look over her shoulder before with an eep she quickly fazes through the realm door as another energy ball heads her way.
" Okay! This time there is nothing to worry about!"
She really wished she could believe that. Everything seems normal. Nothing out of place. No wild animals in sight. No danger of any sort hidden away. Nothing but the brand new indoor pool staring directly at her with a shirtless Danny in nothing but a pair of blue swimming trunks while a grinning Kitty sits down at the edge of the pool with her toes dipped into the pool. Yep everything was looking alright except for one little detail. Why oh why was she instructed to wear this blue almost see through robe with as little as clothing as possible while her best friend does the same with the only difference is the color of their robes? Just what kind of game is she playing?
Removing her toes out from the cool water looking over her shoulder seeing Danny avoiding to look in her direction with these rosy red cheeks while Ember looks straight forward covering her chest with her arms while crossing her feet grinning at the scene without any delay Kitty claps her hands loudly earning their attention.
" Okay! We're onto the next stage of your training. You've acquired the speed you will need to avoid any attack those other ghosts might dish out. Now what you need is to gain the muscle required to defeat these guys and i'm not talking about gaining a six pack. What I'm talking about is good old fashion blunt force trauma. Horsepower heavy duty cast iron pile driving punches that will have to hurt so much that it will rattle their ancestors."
For once since they started this she had to give it to Kitty. She was right. He would need this. He is good. Really good. He would have to be for the small time he had defended Amity Park against some of the worst ghosts that had popped out of that Fenton Portal. But being good wouldn't be good enough if he wants to win the whole thing. No he needs to be the best. He needs to improve and if she is reading the situation right she has a good feeling what is being planned here.
" And now that it has been explained to you this is how you gain such power. From this day forward every single day you are to come in here and give me one thousand laps."
Hearing a throat suddenly being cleared looking over towards Ember as she sees a pointed look being directed her way a confused look comes across Kitty's face.
" Five hundred?"
An answer that seems to only infirate Ember even more from the way her pointed look turns into a glare making a bead of sweat drip down from Kitty's forehead.
" Oh fine! One hundred and that's my final offer!"
Tilting her head slightly as though truly weighing her offer after a few seconds with a sigh Ember nods her head very slightly causing a bright smile to come across Kitty's face. A small exchange that Danny can only watch in silence take place before with a shrug of his shoulders he turns his attention back towards the pool.
I suppose the saying is true. Happy wife, happy life.
" Alright! Now as extra motivation for just today for every hundred laps Ember and I will remove one article of clothing…."
" Kitty!?"

Whoever first started this trend really is a sick bastard in her book. To drink raw eggs from a glass. Eggs fresh out of the shell with no sort of frying applied. These eggs she continues to watch Kitty pour into a rather large glass before flicking away the empty eggs shells over her shoulder to where a panting happily Cujo swipes them out of the air before they can hit the ground. At least one person is happy about this. She has never considered herself a morning person. Hell she knew for a fact that Kitty barely wakes up before eleven oclock on most days. The sheer fact that she is here right now wide awake was simply outstanding. If only she just waited a few more hours and not show up at the realm at seven oclock in the morning and her poor babypop who looks so exhausted with his head buried in his arms at the kitchen table. He was the one that would be suffering at the hands of their green haired devil but she would make it up to him. For all the effort he is putting into this. For the understanding he has shown not questioning any of this. Oh she'll make sure to make this whole tournament nonsense worth his while.
But first he had to survive Kitty's dreaded training sessions and this next session if you want to call it one? She couldn't bear to watch this one. Just the thought of drinking raw eggs makes her want to gag. So much so that as she sees Kitty getting finished up and snatch the glass from the counter Ember can't help but turn her back and look away pretending she isn't even in the room. Making her way silently over towards her prey tapping him gently on the shoulder receiving no reaction from him frowning down at the back of his head placing the glass down onto the kitchen table walking around until she is standing directly behind him reaching out Kitty furiously shakes Danny's shoulders.
" Wakey,wakey! Hey! Wake up you lazy bum, I didn't hear no bell!"
Groaning into his arms lifting his head up just enough to crack open an eye to send Kitty a glare receiving nothing but a sheepish smile in return feeling his eyelid getting heavy not even noticing how she moves around his chair to stand by his side with the glass back in her hand as Danny's head starts to dip back downward suddenly her free hand gently grabbing a hold of his chin stops his head from returning back to its spot in his arms.
" Say ahhh."
Deciding to just go along with whatever Kitty has in store this morning instead of fighting so that he can get back to sleep obeying her wishes by opening his mouth as he feels the tip of a glass touching his lips tilting his head up slightly to allow whatever energy drink she had prepared for him to slide down the moment it touches his tongue immediately Danny's eyes snap wide open as his face starts to turn green.
