Levi is saved by a titan and is taken care of in his forest. A strange titan that is also a child. Survival is the first thing in his mind, second is to teach that kid how to probably clean itself. Disgusting dirty hand it has.

53. Chapter 53

Chapter 53: Epilogue - Ocean

Three years later

Blue. That is all Levi can say he sees. The sky is blue and the water is blue and everything he can see is blue. There is no end to it. It´s unbelievable. Yes, okay he said that about everything they found from the things Armin told them were shown in the book. The dessert was one thing, they don't have to talk about the volcano. It still frightens him to think that Eren nearly get burned because the idiot wanted to touch burning water. What had he expect that fire is suddenly cold. If he hadn't been so worried, he would have hit some sense into him.

Now they stand next to the ocean. The water is constantly moving and hitting the sandy land with small waves. The children, there is no better way to describe his team, are playing in the water. Splashing it into each other faces, running around in it without their boots on and in the worst case (namely Hanji) picking strange things from under the water.

The thing Hanji holds out to him looks like an ugly giant worm that is leaking liquid and Levi wishes she wouldn't touch things with her bare hands. Who knows what the think is. On the other hand it will give the scientist something new to do. Without titans to study she needs a new project. Maybe he will ask Erwin to let her study the creature they find here, or something like that.

Levi looks over at Eren who is collecting something from under the water. It doesn't look slimy or dirty or anything disgusting. It´s mostly white and looks solid, not like the living thing that found a friend as Hanji found another one, in a more greenish colour. Eren takes one of the pieces and brings it over to him.

"Look Levi, Armin found this thing it looks like a shell from a snail but bigger and look at the inside its all shining." Carefully Levi takes the shell into his hand, he is right, its like the small ones you see on a snail but so much more beautiful. "You should come into the water too. It´s clean, and so salty." Eren smiles brightly. Levi does everything to get Eren to smile like that. His happy child.

"Fine, but if my clothes get dirty you will clean them." Levi pulls off his boots and Eren doesn't wait a second longer and pulls him into the upcoming waves, splashing the water while he runs over to Armin and Mikasa. The water is warm and feels good on his tired feet. The way to the ocean was a long one. But Levi would take every step again to bring Eren to the ocean. And he must admit, this place, the world outside the wall is beautiful.
