We pressed our offensive on the droids. I ducked to avoid a stray blaster shot.
"Hunter hold them off. I'll check on Rex and Echo." Anakin said. We took of at the droids. More kept coming and we were pushed back.
"It's gonna get more difficult to get out of here"Hunter said Crosshair crushed the doors control panel" there's several squads of droids closing in." We forced the door back closed welding it shut.
"Enemy approaching droids lots of'em" Crosshair said
"How long can you hold them off" Anakin asked
"How long do you need?" Hunter asked
"Tech how much longer." Anakin shouted.
"Not yet I need more time." Tech said we continued welding as something started cutting through the door we slammed the other one shut and started welding it
"Got it we can unplug him now." Tech said.
"It's a touching reunion guys but we need to get out of here now." Anakin said
"There's an exhaust vent that leads to the cooling systems right there." Echo pointed.
I turned back to the door
"They've breached the front door." I called
"It won't be long before they're through the second." Hunter said.
The vent opened and I chuckled.
"Great now how do we get up there?" Crosshair asked.
"I can help with that." Wrecker said. He pushed Hunter forward
"Wait, what? Wrecker what are you doing?" Hunter said ending in a slight shout as Wrecker threw him into the vent."a heads up would've been nice!" Hunter shouted.
Wrecker threw us up one by one. Echo was sandwiched between Victory and Rex as we climbed the vent. Wrecker and Anakin emerged into the tunnel with us.
We walked through the vent tunnel.
"Fives couldn't make it huh." Echo joked I nearly stopped dead in my tracks.
"No he couldn't he got killed about a month ago." Victory said softly. I walked ahead leaving the two arcs to their privacy. Coming to stand just behind Crosshair.
"Huh. This ventilation corridor acts as a cooling system for all the computers in the facility." Tech said
"How did you know this was up here, Echo?" Anakin asked.
"Well they got access to my memory, and I got access to the Techno Union database. All their plans inventory building schematics everything." Echo chuckled.
" you mean you can find us a safe way out of here?" Hunter asked.
"Well there is a way but you're not gonna like it." Echo said. He directed us through the vents to a door leading outside.
"I don't know about this "Wrecker shouted.
"I'm telling you there's a landing pad on that other building." Echo shouted
"So you think there's a ship we can steal" Rex asked
"Well, I hope there's a ship we can steal." Echo said
"Let's hope this trip isn't for nothing." Hunter said. Anakin walked out first followed by Echo and Rex.
"Oh boy I can't look just keep walking Tech"Wrecker said
"That's fine but if you fall don't take me with you." Tech replied
"Uh-oh I looked Ahh!" Wrecker said."I think I'm gonna be sick, not gonna panic"
"Hang on Wrecker Were almost there." Hunter said Wreck continued to mutter.
"Turn around!Go back" Anakin shouted. We were trapped on the pipe. Crosshair swayed going over the edge I grabbed his arm as we went over.
"Oh boy. Gotcha!" Wrecker said. We hung from one of the supports.
"Anybody got a brilliant idea?" Anakin asked
"I do have a brilliant idea." Tech said
"I'm hanging here!" Wrecker shouted
"When the locals attacked us I recorded the creatures distress call." Tech said
"He records everything it's a hobby." Hunter said
"Which allows us to call those flying creatures to us." Tech said.
Tech played the sound and I cringed.
"Ow! Enough with the sound" Wrecker grumbled. We continued shooting the droids
"That's our ride out of here " Tech said
"How do we get on them" Anakin asked
"How else you jump" he answered. I let out a small shriek as wreckers dropped us onto one of the creatures.
"Uh that wasn't part of the plan" tech said the droids started to follow us."those things can fly"
We flew through the air avoiding the shots. We returned to the village and the chief started yelling at us.
"Their leader is impressed we tamed the keeradaks, but he wants to know why we returned here." Tech translated
"Tell him we had not choice tell him we wore out our welcome in Purkoll." Anakin said. Tech translated and blaster fire rained down on us. We fired at the scouts.
"Not good if I know Tambor he'll come after us, us and the Poletecs with everything he's got." Anakin said. The chief started speaking."what's he saying Tech
"He says we have broken our word. We have brought the war to his village." Tech translated Rex stepped up.
"You're right. Tell him he's right, Tech. Tell him we didn't plan to drag his people into war. But look what the Separatists did to one of our people. They took away his freedom his humanity. They tried to turn him into a machine."Rex shouted.
"The Techno Union claims its neutral, but they have chosen sides. Now your people have to choose." Victory said
"Couldn't have said it better, you two" Anakin said.
"Ugh! Let's hope it works, because I see forces coming— more than we can handle alone." Crosshair said I turned to look at the ridge. We all moved to defensive positions. Anakin signaled. Wrecker forced another Boulder down the cliff and we attacked. I ducked under a blaster bolt destroying the droid. Two giant spider droids landed on the ridge firing at us sending us sprawling to the ground more droids rushed us. We continued our assault.
"Don't worry General we can handle it." Rex said into his comlink.
"Hunter Wrecker Lillee Your with me." Rex said we got up and ran at and fired at the walker.
"That seemed to work but how do we get up there?" Rex asked. I smirked as wrecker went to grab him" no, no not again!" Rex shouted as he was launched up. Hunter and I following suit. I shot out the eye of the droid. The other walker crashed into ours and we tipped. Crashing against the ground.The droids flew away.
We climbed out from under the droid. Hunter rolled his shoulder. Wrecker heaved Rex up. we joined the celebration
"It's hard to compete with a Jedi." Hunter said.
We stood by the ship
"Thank you for helping us in our fight." Anakin said tech translated.
" he said the Jedi will always have an ally here on Skako Minor." Tech said
We went to board the ship.
"Rex Victory, Thanks for coming after me." Echo said.
"That's what Vods do. I'm just sorry it took so long." Rex said.
"Hopefully it's gonna be just like old times." Victory said. I stepped into the ship a soft smile on my face.
