Chapter 55
"So, do you have anything going on today?" Leonard asked Penny as they ate breakfast at the kitchen island.
"No." said Penny. "I was thinking of cleaning up around here. You know, replace the drapes, do the laundry, clean the kitchen…" Penny said absently.
"If you weren't doing anything today then why did you wake up early?" he asked.
"What do you mean?" Penny asked.
"Well I was thinking that maybe you wanted to sleep in, you know, wake up late in the afternoon, take a long bath in the tub, that sort of thing." he said.
Penny sighed and gave Leonard a stern look. "Well I'm sorry if I wanted to have breakfast with my husband and daughter." she said with a hint of sarcasm.
"Mom's right dad, why do you have to be the buzzkill?" said Sarah, surprising her parents while looking at her.
"Where did you learn that word?" asked Leonard.
"I heard mommy say it." said Sarah.
Penny sighed again. "And do you know what that means?" she asked the little girl.
"Party pooper." said Sarah. "Am I in trouble?" asked the child.
"No sweetheart, you're not in trouble. I just don't want to hear you say that again. Do you hear me?" Penny said.
"Why?" the child asked.
"Because I said so." Penny said looking at Sarah.
Sarah nodded. "Okay mom." she said.
Penny touched Sarah's cheek while smiling at her. "Now why don't you go and wash up in the bathroom? You're gonna be late for school." she said while helping the child get down from her chair.
Sarah walked to the bathroom as Leonard and Penny started to clean up the kitchen island.
"We really have to be careful when that young one is around us." said Leonard.
"I know." said Penny. "Now why don't you leave that to me and you go ahead and get dressed." she said kissing his cheek.
"Thank you honey." he said kissing her back before going to the bedroom to get ready for work.
After half an hour, Leonard and Sarah were ready to go out of the apartment. The child went to her stepmother and kissed her on the cheek, hugging her.
"Bye mommy!" said Sarah.
"Bye sweetie. Have fun at school okay?" said Penny kissing the child before turning to her husband. "Bye honey." she said kissing Leonard on the lips.
"Bye honey. I'll call you when I arrive at work." he said before holding Sarah's hand, leading her out of the apartment.
"Bye guys! Love you!" Penny said as she stood by the door, seeing them enter the elevator.
"Bye mommy! Love you too!" Sarah yelled as the elevator door closed.

After almost thirty minutes, Leonard parked the car on the side of the road in front of Sarah's school entrance. He kissed his daughter on the cheek before helping her out of the car.
"Have fun honey. I love you so much!" he said to his little princess.
"Bye daddy! I love you too!" she said as she slung her bag over her shoulders before joining the other kids entering the school. Leonard looked at her daughter as she walked away, seeing a few of her classmates arrive and calling out to them. Sarah joined her classmates as they enter the school's gate, making small talk as the security guard let them in while Leonard looked on, happy to see the positive change in her daughter.
He was about to start the car when he thought about his wife before thinking about his schedule for the day which was pretty much open. He smiled smugly as he pulled out his phone and began texting. He put his phone back in his satchel before driving back out on the road.

Penny was halfway through to cleaning the kitchen and refrigerator when the apartment door suddenly opened with Leonard stepping inside with a big smile on his face.
"Why are you back? Did you forget something?" Penny asked as Leonard put his bag on his desk before going directly to his wife. Penny was surprised when Leonard quickly pulled her close and began kissing her passionately. She tried to break free but Leonard held her tight, locking their lips as she felt her own eagerness and excitement building up. They broke off after almost five minutes of kissing.
"I missed you." said Leonard.
"Aren't you supposed to be at work?" Penny asked while holding on to his arms.
"Do you want me to go back to work?" he asked smiling at her.
Penny smiled back. "Let me guess, you dropped Sarah off at school and thought to go back here to have sex with your wife the whole day!" she said. "Am I right?"
"I texted my boss and told him that I wasn't feeling well today." he said.
"But I haven't showered yet honey." said Penny as Leonard took her hand and led her into the bedroom.
"Don't worry, we'll shower together later." he said as he closed the bedroom door

Penny laid her head on Leonard's shoulder, wrapping her arm around him as they breathe hard, satisfied with their intimacy.
"I'm glad you skipped work today." Penny whispered.
"Well I have to satisfy my wife right?" said Leonard, hugging his wife close.
"Great job honey." Penny said kissing his lips.
"Do you wanna take a shower now?" asked Leonard.
Penny smiled at him. "Let me guess, we go into the bathroom, you take off all my clothes, you soap me up and then…?" she said waiting for Leonard to finish her sentence.
"And then I'll be a good husband to you, make you feel safe and warm...and loved…" he said smiling at her.
"Hmm...but can you keep up?" she asked, teasing him.
Leonard slowly sat up and put on his robe before pulling his wife off the bed. "Only one way to find out!" he said.
"Okay, but I'm telling you, if you fall short then I'm gonna be disappointed." she said while putting on her robe.
"Oh believe me I won't!" he said as they went out the bedroom and into the bathroom. Leonard immediately mixed the hot and cold knobs, making sure the temperature is just right before pulling Penny in, washing and soaping her up. Leonard massaged her body, starting from her neck and shoulders, then down to her back and arms and finally to her legs and calves, feeling her muscles relax under the soothing warm water. It didn't take long for the couple to be making out and having sex in the shower. Penny let her husband's excitement take over as she held her breath while Leonard moved in, making her feel his love and affection.

After the shower and getting dressed, the couple went back to the kitchen to continue cleaning up, throwing out old food items from the fridge and scrubbing off built-up grease and stains on the stove and oven. They would glance at each other from time to time, smiling, giggling and sometimes walking up to give the other a kiss on the cheek or lips. They didn't say a word as they cleaned up around the apartment but somehow understood each other's thoughts with just a glance or a smile to one another. They replaced the drapes and pillow cases in the couch while also vacuuming the floor and underneath the tables and chairs before cleaning some of the junk from Leonard's desk.
By lunch time, they were done cleaning the kitchen and living room, including their storage closet and decided to just order a pizza as they were too tired to even cook not to mention Penny insisting on keeping the kitchen clean.
"Ugh this is so good." said Penny as she took a bite of her pizza slice.
"Yeah." said Leonard. "What do you wanna do next?" he asked.
"I thought we were gonna have sex all day?" Penny said, greatly surprising Leonard.
"We can have sex after this if you want?" said Leonard becoming a little excited.
Penny glared at him. "Look at you, just the thought of sex really stirs you up huh?" she said, amused by her husband.
"Well we still have the whole afternoon before we pick up Sarah from school." he said, puling her back into the bedroom.
"Ugh you're unbelievable!" Penny sighed as Leonard closed the door before starting to undress her.
"I'm not feeling any resistance from you honey so I'm just gonna keep going." he said as he began loosening her bra and underwear while Penny put her arms around his neck, kissing him passionately.
"Just shut up and kiss me." she said as they laid on the bed and got under the covers, making love for the third time.

Later that afternoon, the couple decided to get out of the apartment and pick up Sarah from school. The child smiled when she saw her parents in the car, welcoming her in and making sure she has her seat belt firmly secured.
"How's school honey?" Leonard asked as he started to drive away.
"It was okay dad." said Sarah. "Did you pick up mom from the apartment before coming here to fetch me?" she asked as the couple looked at each other.
"Yeah sweetie, your dad passed by the apartment so we could pick you up together." said Penny.
"How come daddy's dressed differently? Did he change his clothes before coming here?" asked Sarah, surprising the couple with her observation.
"Uh yeah honey, I changed when I picked up your mom from the apartment before coming here." said Leonard hoping his daughter would let it go.
"Why? Did you spill something on your shirt or pants?" Sarah asked.
"Yes honey." he said, sighing with relief while looking at Penny. "What do you two want for dinner?" he asked.
"I don't know daddy." said Sarah.
"I know! Why don't we go out to dinner tonight? We can dress up and go to a nice restaurant! What do you guys think?" he said.
"That sounds like a good idea daddy! Right mommy?" said Sarah.
"You're right sweetheart. But we have to take a quick shower before we dress up okay?" said Penny smiling at the little girl.
"Okay mommy." Sarah said.

They arrived at the apartment shortly and Penny wasted no time in getting Sarah and herself cleaned and dressed up. Leonard took his phone and called the restaurant where Penny first took them for dinner to reserve a table for three. He was thankful that he was able to reserve a table, owing to the fact that today was not the weekend.
After almost thirty minutes, Sarah and Penny came out of the bedroom all dressed and made up, looking very pretty.
"Oh my god, you guys look amazing!" said Leonard while kissing his daughter and wife.
"Look at my eyes daddy, mommy made it prettier." Sarah said.
Leonard took a closer look and was amazed. "You're right honey, you look like a real princess now." he said. Before turning to Penny and kissing her on the cheek. "You're so beautiful honey." he said.
Penny kissed him back before fixing his tie and shirt. "There, perfect." she said.
"Okay, let's go. I called the restaurant and we already have a table waiting for us." he said holding their hands.
"Which restaurant is that?" asked Penny.
"The first one where you took us to dinner." he said making Penny smile.
"Aww, that is so sweet honey." Penny said as they went out the apartment, locking the door before going into the elevator.

They reached the restaurant in no time and was shown to their table by the receptionist while a waiter served them some wine while taking their orders.
"Uh can we have some grape juice for my daughter here?" Leonard told the waiter.
"No problem sir." the waiter said before going away to get Sarah's grape juice.
Another waiter came, offering Leonard some flowers for his girls.
"Sir, perhaps you would like some flowers for your daughter and girlfriend?" he asked as Leonard somehow recognized him from their first visit here.
Leonard smiled at him. "Oh, she's actually my wife now." he said while giving him a couple of five dollar bills, taking a couple of roses from his basket.
"I'm sorry for the confusion sir. It's just that I kinda recognized you guys from your last visit here." said waiter number two.
"It's alright. You don't have to apologize." said Leonard before the waiter said his goodbye.
Penny smiled and pulled Leonard in for a kiss. "Good job." she said.
"Eww, so gross!" said Sarah looking at them. "I think I lost my appetite." she said making the couple laugh.
"Ugh! You young woman are gonna get in trouble for that!" said Penny laughing a little.
"Why?" Sarah said.
"Because it's embarrassing." said Penny.
"Not as embarrassing as kissing in front of your daughter?" Sarah said, teasing her parents.
"Okay little princess, we get it." said Leonard. "You've made your point. We're not gonna kiss in front of you again." said Leonard.
"Thank you daddy." said Sarah as she took a sip from her glass.
Their food arrived shortly as Penny helped her stepdaughter with her food, making sure that she used the table napkin so her dress won't get ruined. They continued eating with Sarah telling her parents about the Science & Math Club that she recently joined. The couple also shared some stories especially with Penny's new job, telling them about the celebrities she got to work with and the projects they are in.
After having a lovely dinner and a few glasses of wine, the young family decided to go home as Sarah still has to go to school the next day as well as Penny who has work that day. Leonard paid their bill, leaving some extra dollars for the tip as Penny held Sarah's hand, leading her out of the restaurant.

By the time they reached home, Sarah was already asleep in the back seat. After parking the car, Leonard carried his daughter in his arms while Penny followed close, getting the elevator and the door. After putting Sarah in bed, Leonard went to the bathroom to wash up and change into his sleep clothes.
As soon as he entered their bedroom, Penny jumped on him, kissing his lips hard.
"Woah! Slow down honey!" Leonard said, laughing a little.
Penny bit her lip. "You did a really good job today honey! I'm impressed!" she whispered while starting to take off his clothes.
"Hmm, I like where this is going!" he said as Penny undressed in front of him.
"This is what you get for being an amazing husband!" she said as they laid on the bed, slipping under the covers while locking their lips with one another. Leonard held her tight as Penny let him in, feeling his warmth and affection while whispering loving words to each other.
