Chapter 55-The Fight

Billy walks out of the gate first, followed by the others. Monroe was the last person out of the gate, and the gate closed behind them. There was a group of about two hundred in front of them, and the rest were on the east and west side.

"I would say about 500 to six hundred," Indra says. Billy nods as a man rides into the front of the group in front of them.

"This is your last chance. Hand over the commander and nobody dies," The man says.

"We don't abandon our people," Billy says to the man.

"So be it. At least you will die a warrior's death," The man says. The two groups on the east and west side start to move towards camp, and when the first explosion goes off. The group in front of them comes after them. Billy goes first, followed by the others as the guards on the walls start to shoot down grounders. He watched as his friends got separated in the battle and guards that had come out fell. Billy blocks a man's sword and cuts the man's leg making the man fall to his one knee. Billy drives his sword through his heart. Behind him, Luna kills a man and grabs his spear. She throws the spear through another grounder. Billy and Luna fight back to back as they kill clanless men.

Inside Alpha station Lexa, Emma, and Clarke stood behind metal as they watched the south side of camp. "Wouldn't the fence kill them?" Emma asks. Lexa looks at her as she held a bow.

"They would use bows and try to take down the guards. They would have to move, but they would start here. That is why you and Clarke have guns," Lexa tells Emma, who nods as they listen to the fight.

"How do you think they are doing?" Clarke asks as they hear the gunfire.

"I don't know. Good, I hope," Lexa tells them. Bellamy and Murphy shoot at the grounders with Sterling. Bellamy shoots two grounders and takes the clip out of his gun as three grounders come up to them. Bellamy looks at Murphy and Sterling, who was also reloading. Bellamy pulls out a knife, as does the other two. One grounder goes after each. Bellamy jumps back as one of them swings at him. He watches as one of them cuts off Sterling's hand. The teen yells but is quickly stabbed in the chest and kicked off by the grounders boot. The grounder in front of Bellamy swings at him again. Bellamy moves to the side and stabs the grounder in the hip. He pulls the hatchet off his belt and stabs him in the neck. He pulls the knife out and lets the hatchet go as the other grounder looks at him. A sword goes through the other grounder from behind. Roan pushes the man off as Murphy kills the grounder he was fighting. Murphy and Bellamy pick up their guns and reload as Roan walks away.

Atom stood with Otan and Emori. He had his handgun, and that was it as the other two fought the grounders off with swords. Atom aims the gun and shoots a grounder in the chest, and then shoots another. He hears a scream behind him as Otan's hand is cut off. He shoots the grounder who cut his arm off. "Emori, get him to medical!" Atom yells to her as he shoots grounders, who moves towards him. A guard comes over and helps Emori as another covers him. Atom shoots a grounder and hears movement behind him. He aims his gun.

"Woah," Roy says as he comes over with Claire. Atom aims away from them and shoots a grounder behind them as Roy and Claire cover him. Emori and a guard trag Otan into medical.

"Here," Abby says as he points to a bed. Emori sets her brother down. Abby and Nyko come over. "Emori, I know you are worried. But you have to go help them. We'll do everything we can," Abby says to Emori, who nods. She kisses her brother's head and leaves the tent as Abby, Nyko, and Jackson tend to Otan. Outside after 20 minutes of fighting, Billy could tell the grounders we're going down faster than his own. Luna is cut off from Billy as the man who had talked to him at the beginning comes up to him.

"If I can't have the commander. I'll take the leader of this clan," He swings at Billy, who uses his sword to block the man's swing. Billy swings, and the men does the same as they take turns swinging at each other. Billy swings his sword, and the man hits it away. He grabs his dagger and stabs Billy in the arm. He lets go of the dagger and punches Billy in the face. Billy drops his sword, and the man stabs him through the middle of the torso. Billy coughs blood as the man looks at him in shock. "Nightblood," He says before a dagger goes through his throat. The man goes to the grounder, letting go of his sword. Lincoln looks at Billy.

"Hey, you're gonna be okay. Don't pull that out," Lincoln says as he helps him stand up. "I need help!" Lincoln yells. Gustus comes over and grabs Billy's other side. They start to take him down the hill as he passes out. They pass Luna. "Finish this," Lincoln says to her as they make their way down to the gate. They get to the gate, which is opened.

"Find the commander," Gustus says to a guard who nods. They take him to medical. Abby lets out a gasp as Gustus and Lincoln set him down.

"I need blood," Abby says as she comes over. She looks at the sword. "He's lucky. It doesn't look like it hit anything major. Hold him," Abby tells the two grounders, who nodded. Abby grabs the sword as Lexa comes running in. "Jackson, get her ready for a blood transfusion," Abby says as she slowly starts to blood the sword out. Jackson puts a needle into Lexa's vein as Clarke and Emma come in. Emma looks at her brother. "Get her out of here!" Abby shouts at her daughter, who pulls Emma out. Abby pulls the sword out as Billy wakes up. "Stay still," She tells him as she grabs the needle from Jackson and puts it in Billy's vein as blood comes out of Billy's wound. She grabs a rag and hands it to Lincoln. "Keep pressure," Abby tells him as Jackson goes back to helping Nyko. Lincoln nods.

Outside, the clanless start to retreat, only about a hundred of them left. Raven looks around at the bodies and over at Luna. "Where is he?" Raven asks the girl as the others look around for their leader.

"Medical," Luna tells her. Raven drops her sword and runs back to camp as Luna puts her sword away. She looks at Anya. "I was supposed to protect him," She says as she picks Billy's sword up. Kane follows Raven to the tent. They go up to the tent where Gustus stood in the front. He grabs Raven as she tries to get in.

"Let me in!" She yells at him.

"You can't. You'll only distract, Abby," Gustus says as Raven struggles against him.

"Please!" She yells as Gustus wraps his arms around Raven, who hugs him and cries. Murphy helps Myles walk. Myles had been shot in the leg by an arrow.

"Second time," Murphy says. Myles smiles.

"They most like me," Myles says

"Yeah," Murphy says as a guard comes over and grabs Myles. Octavia walks down to him.

"Are you okay?" She asks as she looks at the cuts on his clothes and the red bloodstains.

"Yeah, just some cuts," Murphy says as he looks at the bodies around camp. "This will take a while to clean up," Murphy says. Octavia looks around and nods.

"What happened to Sterling? I thought I saw you with him," Octavia says to him.

"They got him," Murphy says as he looks at the guards on the ground too. "We lost people too. Good men," He says.

"That is expected in a war. You lost a lot less than most," Anya says as she comes over. Murphy nods. Inside the medical tent Abby stitches Billy's wound and looks at Lexa sitting in the chair.

"They must know that he is a nightblood after this, right?" Abby asks the commander, who looks at her.

"Yes, which will now make him even more of a target," Lexa says as she looks at him. "Will he survive this?" Lexa asks Abby, who nods.

"He should. He got lucky that that sword didn't go through anything fatal," Abby says.

"Then why is Gustus standing guard?" Lexa asks.

"Because he's pale and bloody. Nobody out there should see him like this," Abby says to Lexa, who nods. Abby walks away and over to Nyko. She looks down at Otan. "How is he?" She asks.

"I believe he'll survive, but he will never be the same," Nyko says. She nods as she looks at him. A guard walks in with Myles and sits him down on the bed. Abby goes over to him and looks at his leg. Outside, Lincoln walks over to Harper, who looks at him.

"Are you okay?" He asks her. Harper nods and looks at the blood on his shirt. "I'm fine. It's Billy's blood," He says.

"Go get cleaned up. We have work to do," Harper says as she walks away. Raven sits outside the tent.
