"Ziva." That was the fifth time he had called her name. He was afraid to touch her because he didn't want to startle her and end up on one of Ducky's autopsy tables. Her eyes were still fixed on Caitlin but they were distant. Off into a different world.
"Come on Ziva. Stop daydreaming." He said quietly. He was so afraid of startling her.
He took his chances and shook her shoulder gently. She jumped and screamed ever so slightly.
"Sorry." He whispered.
"Maybe you should rest for a bit." He suggested.
"N- No. I will be fine. Really. I am fine. I will just sit for a bit." She compromised.
"Ziva, you will not sit and beat yourself in your head. I will not let you do that." He said sternly.
He knows me way too well.
"You will not let me do a lot of things Tony." She said. In a way annoyed.
"Yes. Because I care about you. Now sit on the couch and talk to me. About anything. Good or bad. appropriate or not. Anything. I don't care."
"I do not even know what to say Tony." She said nervously. Looking down at her lap unconsciously playing with her fingernails.
"Fine then I'll start." Tony was thinking about something not too hard on Ziva.
"Remember when we superglued McGeek's face to his desk?" He said chortling at the thought of McGee waking up. Finding that he can't lift his face off his desk.
"Yes." Ziva smirked.
"Then boss walks in and says 'grab your gear.' Probie couldn't even look in Gibbs' direction." He was the one laughing uncontrollably. Ziva was merely smiling.
"And when Gibbs saw him he emptied an entire bottle of nail polish remover around and over his face." He was rolling on the couch with tears in his eyes.
"Tony. You stopped laughing when Gibbs told you to stay in the bullpen and do deskwork after head slapping you twice." Ziva pointed out and wiped the smile off Tony's face.
"Haha. Yeah. Very funny." He said sarcastically.
"I got another question for ya." Tony changed the subject.
Ziva tilted her head 45 degrees to the right. Tony thought about his question wondering if it was the right question to ask. He took his chances anyways.
"Ziva. Are you ok?" He shifted gears to a more serious note.
"Yes." She answered quickly. Too quickly to be true.
"Don't lie to me." He frowned.
"Really. I am fine." She lied.
"Admit it Ziva. You're not fine."
"I am. Now would you excuse me. I need to sleep." She dismissed Tony. To Tony's surprise, she fell to the side onto Tony. The moment she fell, she was out of in. Now Tony was stuck in one place and he couldn't reach for anything. He needed his cellphone to call Gibbs and tell him that he wasn't going to come to work until Ziva woke. He was kind of pissed but he reminded himself that she needed the sleep. So, he tried to sleep himself. When she started snoring. It reminded him of the night in the hotel room when they went undercover as the married assassins. He sighed and tried his best to sleep.
