Hey guys… it's been a long while hasn't it… don't even remember when I last posted… well life hits hard is all I can say. With how my jobs been, with covid happening. And to be honest with all the updates my favorite console games have been getting…
It's been too long since I last updated as writer's block had hit me hard since I last updated. Currently, I am only going to be focusing on the story Derpy Sunrise since it's one of the few requests I got to work on.
I can't really say much about whats happened besides all I just said… but I hope to finish this story efficiently and cleanly!
Word spread fast among the higher ranks…
Word of a new princess…
As well as the news of how it happened…
It was decided to keep the news only among the higher ranks for the time being. The matter of locating Derpy was handled with extreme cautiousness as any word of who was missing would cause panic among the noble populace. "Your Highness." Turning around from my position stood one of the royal trackers among the unicorn guard. "we have located a trail similar to your own magic in the west wing of the castle. We are currently honing in on the position of where it goes." He stated in a monotone voice.
"anything strange concerning the trail?" I immediately questioned.
"From what we detected it was joined by another signature of vast amounts of power, even more than your own your highness, before it goes straight into a vacant wall." He began to explain. Emotions such as curiosity and confusion slipping into his tone of voice. "There are also traces of magic on the wall in the shape of a door. We have reason to believe it's connected to a spell created before the unification era. From what research we do have about it we can't do much about locating its exit point."
I know of the spell he was speaking about. It was an old spell, only used by those advanced in the practices of transportation magic. "take me there." He saluted before we began to move at a quickened pace towards the area he was notifying me of. Arriving with just a few minutes comes from years of transversing these halls. Several other ponies were casting magic carefully in the area so as to not muddle the trail they located. We approached a pony who was scanning the wall.
"report." He stated. The mare turned around and gave a quick bow noticing me before standing up straight.
"all signs match that of the confirmed spell that you located sir. We are currently working on seeing what the other signature was and who it may belong to. Ticker and Trotter are currently working on rewinding the area." He gives her a stern stare.
"a rewinding requires authorization Corporal." Her ears flayed back and her eyes went wide as she leaned back a little.
"I gave permission to your higher to use whatever means necessary within reason." I spoke up as his stare lessened and she gave a breath of relief. "although I am shocked that you needed to resort to such measures."
"my apologies your highness." She spoke up. "but whatever happened here left little to no trace for us to accurately locate."
"then I believe that I may be of assistance in this matter," I stated with a small smile. Remembering an older spell that could be used in this situation like it was used in the old days. "although I will ask that we go through with the spell first… I wish to know what occurred here." They both nodded as I looked at the wall she had been previously scanning. Casting a quick spell I was happy to feel Derpy's signature all over the wall in the specified area.
But the other signature intrigued me… it felt…
Familiar…

But very… familiar…
"princess we are ready to proceed." The captain stated.
The rewind spell was a highly restricted spell only allowed in serious situations. If it went wrong many things could happen, as is the risk of all spells that manipulate time. It requires many years of learning about and of pounding the runes needed for this spell into the minds of those learning it. It could only be used in small areas, yes and it drained the unicorn's reserves massively depending on how far back we needed to see. This is why I decided to put some of my own magic into the mix. "allow me to assist with the spell." He nodded as we approached a rune circle placed in front of the supposed door location. "before we cast this spell I need you all to listen to me and listen to me carefully."
All six guards looked at each other with the exception of the captain. "anything wrong your highness?" I gave a small nod.
"The information that's going to be revealed is of the utmost importance… it will reveal something that may shock you and could possibly cause trouble among the populace should said information come out at the wrong time. Currently, only your commanding officers know of the reasons… so I must please ask you to keep what you see here secret, I am willing to speak of what was seen afterward."
"then we shall obey your highness." Spoke the captain as the other ponies of his squad nodded. "do you remember what must be done with this spell?" I gave a nod as he, an older mare, and myself all stood in a triangle. We began to push our magic into the circle…
