I sat leaning against the bar when Anakin walked in.
"I need your help." He said he had bags under his eyes.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"It's Padme I keep having nightmares about not being able to save her but I need something or someone's help." He said he looked like an emotional wreck.
"Of course. Hey hey look at me have you spoken to anyone else about this Obi Wan maybe." I said grabbing his arms
"Can't they'll kick me out of the order." He murmured.
"Like hell they would. Obi Wan wouldn't tell anyone you can't keep this to yourself." I urged.
"But..." he started
"No buts. This isn't good for you bottling these feelings the council can deal with it." I said. He nodded."I'll take care of Padme I promise." I sent him a soft smile.
"Thank you" he said. I nodded.
"It's going to be alright. Go speak to Obi Wan." I said "I'll be at Padmes apartment within the hour." He nodded and took off.
I collected my gear. Worry filled me for Anakin and his fears.
I knocked on the senators door. It slid open to reveal a heavily pregnant Padme.
"Lillee what's going on?" She asked
"Anakin sent me as protection. He's worried about you I sent him to talk to Obi Wan" I said
"Come in take a seat" She said
"Of course. I see a congratulations is in order." I smiled.
"Thank you." She said
"Is this why he's been so twitchy? He hasn't been sleeping I can tell." I said.
"He keeps having nightmares about me dying and he can't stop it." She said.
" I understand that." I looked and scanned the windows.
" Nothings coming to kill me he said that I would die having our child." She said.
I froze I couldn't find anything to say I just kind of gaped awkwardly.
"Mistress Padme you have a visitor." Threepios voice rang out
"Let them in Threepio" Padme said. Senator Organa walked in.
"Senator it's good to see you again." I said
"Likewise." He said
"How is your campaign going?" Padme asked
"It's good. I've got quite a bit of support from the citizens and the Senate." He replied. I stood and watched taking in the entire room and everything outside the window.
The sky exploded in color as fight raged in the uppermost atmosphere.
"The separatists are taking quiet a risk." I murmured." Trinity keep an eye on Thira and Maliyas vitals just in case" I wrung my hands
" I must get going be careful Padme" Organa said leaving.
"Lillee you alright" she asked
"I'm fine just thinking." I sent her a smile. She sat at her desk and went back to work. I stood at the window keeping a watch over Padme Thira and Maliyas vitals. I turned and watched the women power through paperwork
"Mistress I have a report on the battle if you would like it." Trinity snapped me out of my daze
"Please continue" I said
"The separatists army is retreating most of the attack fleet has been destroyed including Count Dooku. Masters Kenobi and Skywalker are returning to the temple."The Ais voice rang out. I felt a flood of relief
"What about Ahsoka and Rexs siege how is that going?" I asked
"I am unsure mistress I have no information on it" Trinity replied
"Alright thank you" I ran my hand through my hair.
I turned back to the window a small smile graced my face. We're so close to ending this war. I chuckled at the irony I wanted nothing to do with this war but here I am nearing its ending. A commander a war hero a mother.
"Fett where are you?" Windus voice rang from my comm
"Senator Amidalas apartment why what's going on?" I asked.
"We're arresting the chancellor. We need you here now." He said
"I'm on my way. Padme I have to go it's urgent. I'll be back soon" I said tugging my helmet on
"Go I'll be fine be careful." She said
"I will" I took of out the door. I sprinted down the steps and hopped into my speeder and hightailed it to the temple.
"Sorry I'm late." I said stepping into the hanger.
"Glad you could make it" Fisto said I stepped onto the gunship
"Figured you guys could use the support." I chuckled.
"Let's get going" Windu said boarding the gunship.
"I presume you have a plan. Right?" I looked at the four Jedi.
"Of course we do" Windu said"we plan to arrest the chancellor."
"The fact that all four of you are Jedi masters and this is your plan astounds me. How have we not lost to the separatists yet? Trinity get me a location on the chancellor" The Jedi looked at me.
"Mistress he is in his office alone no one is nearby except for the speaker." Trinitys voice rang clear through the ship
"Alright then lets create an actual plan."I pulled up the building schematics." Fisto Windu you'll enter first followed by the two of you I'll be outside the window should he attempt to flee. For once in your lives let the Jedi code go this is more important and don't die." I looked them over.
"Alright." Windu said curtly.
We landed on the platform I took of up the building the four Jedi head in inside.
"Trinity I need you to do something for me." I told the Ai" call Thira and if that doesn't work call Maliyas emergency frequency"
"Right away Mistress" Trinity replied
The line rang before Thira picked up
"What do you want?"she asked
"I know your still mad with me but listen. I love you I always will no matter what." I said.
" Whats going on?" She asked
"Nothing just listen. If I don't make it I don't want you to cry. Its always a shame to cry about something that made you smile. And I want you to tell Maliya if I don't make it that I'm so proud of her and that she's going to be amazing. I want you to tell Boba it's going to be alright." I chuckled ruefully" Can you do that please?"
"I will promise" she said
"God I love you I have to go it's time. I'll come straight to the bar if I make it out of here." I ended the call before finishing my ascent.
I poked my head up the four of them had just arrived in the room I readied my launcher. They whipped out their lightsabers. Palpatine stood a lightsaber whipping out of his sleeve igniting it before leaping at the four I slammed my staff into the window and it broke. Palpatine killed the two Jedi I didn't know I whipped my staff up to protect Fisto. We were pushed back into the main room. Purple red silver and green clashing. I avoided a blow only to see Fisto cut in half behind me. Windu over powered the chancellor forcing him back they re engaged each other the old man surprisingly nimble the lightsabers shattered the largest window as they dualed. Windo knocked Palpatine down sending his lightsaber over the edge. We advanced. The wind howled as I heard someone come in
"You are under arrest my lord." Windu said
"Anakin I told you it would come to this. I was right the Jedi are taking over." Palpatine said
"The oppression of the Sith will never return. You have lost." Windu said
I placed a hand on Anakins arm
"No. No. No. you will die!" Palpatine shot lightning at Winduwho deflected it with his saber. Anakins gaze flicked between the two
"Anakin don't listen to Palpatine. Look at me if we win this war Ahsoka could come back you'd not be called into endless battles Padme would have her children you could be a family." I urged.
Anakin ignited his saber Palpatines face shriveled as his lightning fizzled out. He swung it the siths head rolled onto the floor by my feet. Windu nearly collapsed in exhaustion.
"Go Padme is at her apartment we will clean this up." I looked at him. He hesitated before nodding and taking off.
"Call the corrie guards." Windu said "I want a secure perimeter around this room." He knelt next to two of the bodies
"I'm sorry" I looked at him before contacting the guard.
