Chapter 56
A/N: I'm updating so quickly these few days like- OwO
For all my new readers: I don't usually update this quickly, its usually a chapter every week or so but I was just in the mood to write this week ig lol
That night, she was pretty much done with being Blaise. She had no clue how to pee, what any of Blaise's friends were talking about, and didn't even know how to get into the boy's dormitories.
She was planning on staying the night in the library when Theo (Granger technically) ran up to her. "What's the Slytherin password?"
"Why- oh yeah. Well I'm not telling you"
"I need you to!" Granger snapped. "Or else, where am I supposed to sleep?"
Theo, in Granger's body, walked up to them as well. "In the library I guess"
Granger shrugged. "This was a horrible idea" she groaned.
"Mhm" agreed Calypso. "But speaking of which, Theo, what's the password the boy's dormitory"
Theo crossed his arms. "Not telling"
Granger furrowed her eyebrows. "You guys have an individual password?"
"WE don't" Calypso grumbled. "But the boys do, unfortunately"
"It was only fair" Theo argued. "If we're magically blocked from entering your dorms, you shouldn't be able to enter ours either"
"Yeah, yeah, whatever" Calypso said with a roll of her eyes. "Just tell me the password. PLEEEEASE"
Theo mimed throwing up with his hands. "Puppy eyes on Blaise is so weird. The password's Draco is the best"
"What?!"
"We take turns choosing" Theo explained. "It just happened to be Draco's turn this week"
"Figures" Calypso muttered. "Come on then Granger"
"Oh okay!" Said Granger, snapping the book she was reading shut. "But I was just thinking when we drank the voice changing potion-"
"No! I dont' want to think about that" Calypso snapped and they walked down the corridors.
"Shhh" Hermione whispered. "We're past curfew!"
"It doesn't matter, Blaise is a prefect."
"How about me then?"
"I'll just say you were with me," Calypso said with a shrug.
"Really?"
"I'm just doing it because I don't think Theo would be too happy to get detention", Calypso scoffed.
"Oh right," Hermione said dejectedly and plugged her ears.
"What are you doing?" Calypso hissed.
Hermione waved towards the wall. "You don't want me to hear the password right?"
"Yeah...defense" Calypso whispered and the wall slid open. "Welcome to the Slytherin common room"
Inside, there was a riot happening.
"Woah Woah Woah. What is going on?", Calypso demanded.
"Yo Blaise," said a fifth-year Slytherin. "Look who we found trying to trespass!"
Calypso glanced in his direction to see Ernie. "Oh, What's he doing here?"
"No clue" someone shrugged. "He was trying to be Malfoy. But we knew something was wrong as soon as he didn't mention his 'father' in the first two sentences out of his mouth.
Hermione giggled from behind Calypsop before quickly clamping her mouth shut.
"Er...well someone gets him out then", Calypso said loudly before anyone questioned Hermione.
Ernie crossed his arms and stormed out of the common room, sneering a very Draco-like sneer at Calypso as he passed.
"That was stressful" Calypso finally said as she plopped down on Theo's bed. There was no way she was staying in Blaises.
Hermione nodded thoughtfully from Blaise's bed. "It's so strange being in here...I thought Slytherins would be more…" she quickly cut herself off and turned pink.
"No, I wanna know. What did you expect Slytherins to be like?", urged Calypso.
"Oh...well, colder, and fewer jokes"
"You came on a good day" Calypso assured her. "Sometimes the whole place will be drunk...and sometimes everyone'll be arguing with each other. But what's it like in the lion's den"
Hermione frowned, "Lion's den? Oh, you mean the Gryffindor common room? It's usually very loud, and hard to concentrate."
"That's exactly what I guessed," Calypso said haughtily, drawing herself up to use the restroom. "Have you figured out how to pee yet?"
"Er...no"
"Great" Calypso groaned. "Well, I'll hold it in then- oh my god ew!"
Calypso quickly closed the bathroom door again, desperately trying not to throw up.
"What?" Hermione demanded, standing up to check for herself. A second later, she ran back out. "Why does the restroom so heavily reek of cologne?"
Calypso shrugged, "your guess is as good as mine. But let's just not worry about that for now. Have you brought anything to change into?"
"Er no"
"Oh great." and Calypso pushed herself up to dig through Theo's closet.
"You think he'll be okay with you doing that?"
Calypso shrugged. "If I ruin anything, I'll just buy him a new one. Here- try this on", she threw Hermione a grey hoodie.
Hermione caught it in surprise. "Wow, thanks. This feels amazing!" she squealed….uh that looked so weird with Theo's face…."It must be nice being rich. I would never be able to afford this" Hermione sighed.
Calypso stared at her. "It's a hoodie"
"I know! But the material feels like it's such good quality! I've never felt anything like this!"
Calypso allowed herself to grin at Hermione's enthusiasm for a hoodie. "You can ask him if you can keep it"
"No, no, I couldn't. This probably cost a hundred galleons at least." Hermione insisted. "I haven't got nearly as much to pay any of you back"
"He won't mind" Calypso shrugged as she dug through more clothing. "I'll ask him for you later. But...could you do me a favor?"
"Sure!" Hermione said enthusiastically, looking up from inspecting a drawstring. "What is it?"
"Well, it's probably too much to ask but can you help Theo with the whole death eater leaving thing. Also, help clear him of death eater charges when you guys win the war" Calypso lied. There was no way the Order was going to win but she had to make it sound like she believed in Potter or whatever.
Hermione considered it. "I can try...but there's not much I can do about it"
"You're Potter's golden girl, I'm sure you can." Calypso encouraged as she pulled a black sweater over her head. It smelled like wood.
"Goodnight"
"'Night" Hermione said back as the lights dimmed.
The next morning when Calypso got up, Hermione was still well asleep.
She half considered waking Hermione up, but then decided against it when she looked at the time. It was 5 in the morning and no sane person would appreciate being woken up at that time.
So instead, she combed her- Blaise's hair, washed her face, and got ready for the day without brushing her teeth since there was NO way she was going to use her own.
Wait, shoot shoot shoot, it was 3 minutes till sunrise. Quick, animagus spell.
Great, done.
Luckily, she woke up early, or that was no way she would've had enough time to carefully plan an outfit that matched with Blaise's figure.
The rest of the day whizzed by with minimal excitement, except for when Pansy discovered Hermione, and before she knew it, it was time for Potions on Wednesday.
As they entered, she discovered that 6 people had failed, including two Ravenclaws, Ernie, Hermione, Potter, and Weasley.
"Finally" she sighed as the Polyjuice wore off for the last time and she was back in her own body with her former voice.
"I didn't know I'd miss my old body so much" muttered Draco, you have no idea how uncomfortable it is to be a Hufflepuff.
Calypso stifled her laughter at the thought of Draco in yellow robes...hilarious.
"Yes! Well, it was just a little fun, and let's see...full points to everyone!"
"Seriously?" Calypso hissed. "I bet it's just because Potter failed"
Hermione too, looked disappointed, even though she failed, but continued to talk to Potter and Weasley.
…
On Saturday, Calypso was forced (by Snape) to go hold tryouts for the Slytherin Quidditch team, which had fallen apart again..but this time, Draco had abandoned her, which meant so did her beaters, Crabbe and Goyle.
Right now, she was feeling very stupid standing on the Quidditch pitch with a group of random Slytherins and Terence Higgs.
Oh, how she wished Bletchley didn't have OWLs this year and could still play as a keeper.
Nobody besides Terence even managed to fly across the pitch without injuries.
"Let's start with Higgs then. What spot do you want?"
"Seeker"
"Oh, well...I guess you can have it then, but if Draco wants to play, he's got first priority over the spot. Got it?"
Terence shrugged.
"Ok, good. Now...everyone else, move it! I'm off to beg Snape to cancel the team"
"But please" a second-year begged. "I want to be a Chaser!"
"NO!" Calypso shouted. "I'm not going to let someone who can't tell one side of a broom from another be a chaser! Get out of my face now"
And so he did, with a frightened expression but Calypso couldn't care less.
"PLEEEEEASE", she begged after dinner.
Snape glared at her, "No. I expect you to win"
Calypso glared at him, "You just like the look of that trophy don't you"
Snape stayed silent for a count of three. "Absolutely not. I just want you to get good exercise"
"Maybe I would if you didn't assign so much homework?"
"...ok, so I have gotten used to the look of it in my office."
"..."
"And I would prefer not to give it to McGonagall"
"Mhm. But I'm not going to hold another tryout so you get to keep your room decor"
"I don't need you to," Snape said coldly. "But you do need to find a full Slytherin team that will be ready to compete next month or else fail my class"
"Seriously?! You're blackmailing me to keep your trophy?"
Snape glared at her but didn't say anything.
"Fine! Be like that" and Calypso marched out, slamming the door behind her.
"Oi Blaise!", she shouted after he finished a chat with Slughorn.
"What?"
"Would you be interested in playing Keeper?"
He shrugged. "Sure, but you're only asking me because nobody showed up at tryouts huh?"
Calypso stuck her tongue out at him. "I have no idea what you're talking about. Have you seen Theo anywhere?"
Blaise rolled his eyes, "He's with the mudblood"
"Hermione?"
"Yeah her. Since when have you two been on a first name basis?"
"Since I was polyjuiced as you and shared a dorm with her. But who cares. Do you know anyone who can be a chaser or beater?"
"What? Your team fell apart didn't it?"
Calypso put her hands on her hips. "That's none of your concern."
Blaise ignored her and continued. "So now you're rebuilding the team with your friends?"
"Uhhh. Maybe?"
"You're going to drive the team into a wall" Blaise groaned. "But yeah, I can ask Marinette to play as the other chaser"
"Marinette? Who's Marinette?"
"Marinette Avery. Justin's younger sister"
"What?"
"I guess that's on me for doing all your shifts in 5th year. But Justin has a sister in 4th year. You can ask her"
"Yeah, I will. But like, do I have any choice at this point? I'm so desperate I'd be willing to recruit Potter"
"Don't even think about that or you'll be one keeper short again" Blaise warned.
"Okay okay. Do you know where Marinette is right now?"
"Uhhh" Blaise scanned the Great Hall, "She's the one with the long blonde hair and big green eyes"
"Oh...her, yeah okay thank you!"
"I can walk you there"
"Uh…"
Calypso finally decided to just wait until Marinette finished eating and left the Great Hall to talk to her. No need in causing a riot about what a failure this year's Slytherin Quidditch team would be.
After almost 2 HOURS, Marinette left the Great Hall and made her way towards the Slytherin dungeons.
"Wait- uh excuse me?"
Marinette spun around. "Yes?"
"Uhh, you're Marinette right?"
"Mhm"
"Ok...uh, I'm the captain of the Slytherin Quidditch team...and would you be interested in playing for us?"
"Oh! Yeah, I guess" shrugged Marinette. "What spots are there?"
"Anything you want besides Seeker" Calypso muttered. "Have you ever played before?"
"Once or twice when I was small" Marinette admitted. "I use to steal my older brother's broom and practice...but then I got caught. I'd be interested in being a Chaser though"
"Okay great! The practice is next Saturday"
Marinette smiled, "I'll be there", before disappearing down the corridor."
Thank Salazar, now all Calypso needed was to find herself 2 beaters and one more chaser.
Easier said than done….after another grueling hour of begging, she still had nobody willing.
Now desperate time call for desperate measure...which was how she ended up arguing with Theo.
"PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE"
"I told you no" he muttered as he flipped through 'How to Make Friends'.
"Maybe if you weren't so stubborn you'd make more friends"
Theo rolled his eyes. "Well then, explain to me how 'being less stubborn' will make Potter trust me enough to tell me what old Dumbly is doing with him in private lessons"
"That's not the point!"
"Mhm"
"Just PLEEEEEEASE play chaser"
"No"
"THEO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
"SHHH" shrieked Madam Pince from behind a shelf.
"Sorry!"
Once Pince was out of earshot, Calypso continued. "PLEASE! I'll do whatever you say"
He kissed her lightly on her forehead. "No"
"You're so annoying. You know that?"
"So i've been told"
Calypso stomped her foot angrily. "Fine. I've got to find someone else then, see ya"
Finally, she was able to bribe Crabbe and Goyle back on the team, which just left one spot open on the team. It wouldn't really be a big deal anyway, but Snape had demanded a FULL team in order to pass her.
As October rolled by, her team was still one player short...which meant Terrence would have to play as chaser while Draco was seeking.
Let's just say nobody was happy with that arrangement while they trained.
