Lightz: Welcome to The Amazing Deku; it's been four years starting from yesterday since this story was first published. You know, Shadow had a point. The longer I work on this one project, the more I get bored with it, the less I update it. That and the constant deployments don't help either. I hate the entitled people of America.
That's why this chapter isn't as long as the others. Also, I couldn't find anything to put it that wouldn't be pointless filler.
- Omake -
Sitting silently in a room, Ochako Uraraka can be found. She has no mask, but still wears the costume that dubbed her the white spider. Fingers tap against the table she sits at while staring it down, avoiding the pads on her fingers from contacting.
The door opens up, catching her attention. She looks forward at someone standing by the exit. "Uraraka?"
"Yes," says the spider girl.
"You have two visitors." She watches as the door opens up, and in steps her two guests. Eyes widen in amazement and joy at what she sees in front of her.
"Ochako…" The girl gets up from her seat and rushes to the people in front of her.
Gripping them into a deep hug. "Mom! Dad!"
Chapter 57: School Festival
Weeks have passed since the events at Tama Juvenile Correction Facility. The perpetrators known as Curator and Bear-Head have been trialed and sent to prison for child endangerment, trafficking, abuse, and their connections to the Society of Assassins. Having his name cleared from being Tomura Shigaraki, Tenko Shimura has been placed in the hands of his grandparents on his mother's side.
It is now time for the School Festival at UA High.
"So pretty…" Sitting up on Izuku's shoulders is the little Eri, wearing a red pinafore over a white dress shirt with a frilled collar. Under that are grey tights with khaki boots. She looks around her with a smile of awe at the festival.
Even though the festival is only for students, faculty, and businessmen for some reason, Eri is allowed thanks to Aizawa giving the okay. He let her stay the night with Momo so no one would question how she got in. Being able to cheer her up some more and show her things that she missed opens up Aizawa's heart.
Holding her like an older family member, Izuku is dressed in his school uniform. His smile radiates off of Eri as he walks with her, those tiny hands grasping his olive locks of curly hair.
"Not so hard, Eri," he tells her as they go through the stands put up.
"It just looks amazing," she says, almost squealing with joy.
Looking up, Izuku feels glad that things have worked out better for Eri. When they first met before summer, she was a shrinking violet unable to interact with the world. She could barely muster a single word. Now, she's an adorable cinnamon roll he is proud to have as his little sister. Or in her eyes, daughter.
"Daddy, when does your dance begin?"
"In a couple of hours. First, we're going to look around."
Izuku heads over into the main building and enters. This dance has been a major plan for his friends, especially Jirou. It's a great way for her to express her love of music, something he knows of since the evening they sang 'Rise' by Origa that time.
Sadly, he can't break it to Eri that he's been mostly shafted to behind the stage.
Entering the building, Izuku and Eri reach the booth where the Development Course students have their inventions on display. Among them he catches Mei Hatsume by a giant mech suit, tightening a loose screw.
"There we go," she says with a wipe of her forehead. The pink-haired girl looks back and spots Izuku coming forth and immediately smiles. "Oh, if it isn't my favorite test subject!"
Frowning, Izuku says, "Nice to see you too, Hatsume."
"Hello," Eri whispers, waving to Hatsume from behind the curly locks.
"I was just putting the finishing touches on this hero suit! If they like it, I get a contract!" she says with joy, completely ignorant of the little girl with him.
"It's not gonna break the wearer's spine, will it?"
"Not this one!" says Mei with exuberance, and that's not good. "Oh, did you and Melissa finish that new armor of yours?"
"Actually, we did get to finish and test it out. We-"
"Deku!" Speak of the devil, Melissa walks in with a skip in her step, waving to Izuku. She's dressed in the traditional uniform as is appropriate for UA High. However, her tie is loose and she has blue lens shades.
"Melissa!" Izuku calls out, waving to the older girl.
The blond spider girl stops just in front of him, ignorant to Hatsume resuming the touch-ups of her invention. She takes great note of the dolled-up cinnamon roll hiding behind his head grasping his hair.
"Hello there, Eri."
"Uh, hello," Eri replies just loud enough for the two teenagers to hear. "Are you friends with daddy too?"
A blank look pops on the face of Melissa Shield. She looks between Eri and then Izuku, and sneers saying, "I guess someone forgot the condom."
"That's not-" he suddenly shouts, catching himself after that little shock. "Eri just likes to call me that."
"Hmm, hmm," she looks up at the little girl. "Cover her ears."
"Huh? Uh, okay." Izuku, realizing she might say something dirty, does just that to her surprise.
"You should probably make her stop that, otherwise people will get the wrong idea."
"Maybe one day, but what's the harm in it now?"
"Oh, so you enjoy being called that, daddy?" A lecherous tone accompanies that last word, surprising Izuku and turning his face red.
"Please don't call me that."
"Why? Is daddy getting angry?" She leans in closer with her whisper, making him perform the tomato impression. "Is daddy gonna spank me?"
His face becomes a sweaty tomato. "You know what, you're right. We're gonna stop that."
With that over, the two leave to meet up with the rest of Class 1-A. There he spots everyone is all ready to go in their uniforms.
"Izuku, about time!" Jirou says as she runs to him.
"Here, take Eri for a minute." The spider passes on the little girl and makes his way to the lockers to change his clothes.
"Bye, daddy."
Elsewhere…
As UA enjoys their well-earned moment of peace, the world continues spinning. Over at Japan's airport, a woman exits the doorway. This beautiful woman dazzles the scene with her bright red hair long enough to hang down to her knees after being wrapped up at the ends down her back.
She is dressed in a violet blouse with frilled cuffs, the collar upturned, and a pearl string necklace of a similar color. Over this is a short, navy blue dress with a collar so low it dips all the way down to her waist, as well as a thick brown belt that's fastened in 3 places around her waist. She also wears dark red gloves and frilled, thigh-high socks of a purple color, a pair of black boots with knee-high protrusions worn over the top, two bands of red binding them to her calves around the back. Along with this, she sports a black choker with a small red circle in the center, as well as a black domino mask over her eyes.
This young woman clutches a black briefcase in her hand as she approaches someone in front of her. There stands a chauffeur waving to her, behind him a limousine. "Ah. So very much, thank you."
The woman enters the limo before it drives away. In the back seat, she lies back and crosses her legs, pursing her glossy lips. "Are the others assembled?"
"They're all there and waiting for you two."
With a few clicks, the briefcase opens up and reveals a nice slab of raw meat. "Good. GOOD."
Meanwhile…
"THANK YOU FOR COMING!" screams Jirou as she plays the guitar.
She and the rest of Class 1-A stand before their audience of peers and guests dressed in yellow clothing, suits, and dresses for those upfront dancing and casual attire for those playing on the instruments. Well, this goes for all but Aoyama who is in costume.
Lead singer Jirou captures the audience with her melodic voice while the dancers match her in sync brought upon by weeks of hard work. Midway through the first bridge of the song, Izuku throws Aoyama into the air. Lasers fire from every port on his costume to illuminate and sparkle throughout the auditorium.
In the audience, Eri watches with Mirio and Tamaki at the beautiful dance choreography. The little girl awes with wide eyes and rosy cheeks as she smiles.
On stage, Izuku catches the joy of the girl he has been taking care of this entire time before he withdraws to do background work. Through everything, it has been worth it.
Everything.
Back to Action…
The limousine stops just before one of the larger buildings in the city. From the back the woman steps out, wiping off the red staining her pursed glossy lips. She enters the building, immediately traveling up to the top floor. As the elevator opens, she gazes in joy at what she sees before her in this office room.
Sitting on the black leather furniture is the combat person who was watching Izuku trap Doku not too long ago. Staring out the window is another individual, this one wearing a trench coat. Though in reality, he's an animalistic-looking man with traits of different animals; he has blue fur, a wolf-like head, hands and feet resembling an eagle's talons, and a long reptile tail. Under his brown trenchcoat is a blue dress shirt and jeans fastened with a belt; the black hair is dreadlocks.
And there, in the chair seated away from them, is a final person. He has bleached hair dropping down to his shoulders and wears a purple tuxedo with a silver shirt. He turns in his chair to face his new guest, grey and rectangular eyes with white pupils focusing on her. A smile graces them.
"Nine." All three figures get to a knee and bow before their leader.
The man now known as Nine sits up from his seat. He looks to the man by the window, "Chimera," to the woman on the floor, "Scream and Slice," and then the man by the couch, "Mummy, welcome to Tokyo."
Chimera raises his head speaking, "Yeah, I can tell we're in some shit here. The fact that you're calling us in must mean you're finally ready to take action."
"Who shall we kill for you?" Mummy asks while keeping his head to the floor.
"As you know," Nine begins before stretching his arms, "the Volcano Trio failed in their task to procure Venom, and that boy Spider-Man has taken down Curator among others. Our next task will be to procure the Symbiote and assassinate the vigilante."
"You called all three of us in for one person?" asks Slice curiously.
"No." The innards of his tux wiggle. "WE ARE."
All three heads rise in shock. "You?! For one kid?"
"Wouldn't myself and Scream be enough?"
"I'm not taking a chance this time." His eyes turn yellow. "We have some time before Venom gives birth; we'll collect him and fulfill our goal."
Chimera cracks his fingers by clenching his hand into a claw. Grinning, he says, "Good. I'll get on it."
Nine glares the chimeric beast-man. "Don't. We're going to go on my command here. For the time being, we'll wait until we can put him in a position where he can't escape from us."
He places his hand on the table and opens a folder left there. Using a single finger he flicks three sheets of paper out into the air.
A red thread shoots out and wraps one for Mummy's hold. A strand of red hair grabs hold and pulls it to Slice. Chimera lets it land in his claw. "There you'll find a list of potential hiding places for Venom, or as they call him, Kuri."
"I'm gonna need a smoke." Gripping his file, Chimera enters the elevator with Mummy. In a tight fit. "Hey, move back."
"I AM back!" He's getting crushed inside by the beast man's gator tail up against his chest. The elevator closes and they travel to the first floor.
Left alone, Slice and Nine face one another. She says, "You know, now that All Might and All for One have retired, we probably won't need Venom. The four of us alone should be enough."
"True, but we DO need him out of the way." A dark blue substance oozes from Nine's face. "There are only three Symbiotes on Earth. But if he gives birth, we'll be dealing with one stronger than us."
The woman grins before standing to leave. "Then we'll make him the first offering."
Later…
The twilight orange flushes over the skies of Japan. Over at UA, plenty of the patrons participating in the School Festival as either guests or orchestrators. By the gate, Izuku is with Eri as his mother approaches.
"Eri!" Inko says as she collects the little one into a hug. "Did you have fun?"
"Oh yes, I did! I saw this amazing dance! And daddy was a part of it!"
Izuku cringes at the nickname again. Calmly, he speaks to her, "Eri, what did I say about that?"
"Don't?" she eventually replies, making him reply. The little girl moans. "Oh. Sorry."
"Thank you. From now on, I'm just Izuku." His hand fingers her hair and runs through it. "I'll see you again, Eri."
"Okay. Bye… Izuku." She struggles with the name before going back to Inko.
Speaking of whom, she asks her son, "What time will you be visiting?"
"Probably this weekend, or maybe whenever we get a holiday."
"Well, I'll see you then." Inko leans in to kiss his cheek before she leaves.
Eri catches Izuku waving to them before running back to the dorm. Smiling and holding her motherly figure tightly, she leaves for home.
Back with Izuku, he slides in through the hall heading for his friends. On his way, his phone rings. Onscreen, the ID reads Mandalay, which he now realizes he needs to change for her full name.
Regardless, he answers. "Hello?"
"Izuku!" Her voice speaks on the other end, far more exuberant than he expected. But then again, it has been a while since they've spoken.
"Hello there, Shino," he says politely. "Are you and Kouta back in Japan?"
"Oh, just about. There was a situation with her will that most of us had to stay behind for, and we needed to deal with it."
"And the funeral? How was it?" He should have not asked that.
"How do you think a funeral goes?" Her voice becomes somber. "It was depressing; that will be the last time I will ever see Uwabami ever again, and I don't think I'll ever get over that."
Sighing, Izuku mentally curses himself for trying to converse with such a dark topic. "Sorry. We can talk about something else."
"Gladly." She sounds happier. "Now, I was calling to let you know of my return. Also, I'll be returning to the Wild Wild Pussycats."
"Oh, that's great! Does that mean-"
"Black Cat is officially dead." He hears a strange chuckle from her lips. "Instead, I'll return to being Mandalay."
That's a good thing to know. For a while, he was worried she would remain that way. Thankfully, Shino will never fall down that lonely path ever again. "But, come by soon whenever you can. Kouta would love to see you."
"He would?"
"Yes… and so would I. Call soon." She then hangs up.
Sighing, Izuku pockets his device and walks off. Coming together to catch up would be a great idea, but first, he would have to speak with his girlfriend. That is a pile-up he wants to avoid; ever since that night he and Momo have become closer, most especially her. While she walked a little funnier the night after only, the way she looks at him from time to time is rather worrying, even though they haven't done a thing since.
"Eh, I'm overthinking this." Shrugging, Izuku continues on his way.
Elsewhere in UA…
As this goes about, in the teachers' lounge is Aizawa found hard at work doing his computing rounds. Fingers rapidly hit the keyboard typing up a report before his eyes, just as he clicks the enter button and finishes. He then sighs before taking a sip of milk and caffeine.
"Aizawa, how are you?" speaks Midnight as she sits on the desk next to him, her body radiating sparkles for some reason.
"Not now, Kayama."
"Oh, I see. Is Ms. Joke bothering you again?"
"Yes, but that's not what I'm working on," he admits. While sipping his coffee he sees an inbox notification. "I just sent in the paperwork for the Hero Work Recommendation Project. Now that Todoroki has his license, the entire class can go."
"Hero Work Recommendation Project…" Kayama repeats as she looks at the screen. "Was this set up by the Public Safety Commission?"
"Who else?" Following his dry remark, he sips some more. "They even chose the location."
Kei: Well, that brings this chapter to an end, leading to the next big arc. Like the Two Heroes, the Heroes Rising arc is a three-chapter saga extravaganza.
