(Loki waited on vormir for six years to be picked up by carol and Nat)
Authors note: wow, I'm sorry. I know I promised more regular updates but life just kind of got away from me and I couldn't find the time or inspiration to actually write anything I'm so sorry for the wait!
Bucky forced himself to move, to let go of Daisy's hand and walk away. They'd spent the last few days locked away in a room together, sleeping and touching as they tried to make up for lost time. After he had woken to her silent crying after finding out what had happened with the battle with thanos, how they had shared the power of the stones and drained themselves in the process, he hadn't wanted to let her go.
He had woken quickly at her soft groans, had shifted to try to carefully wake her or sooth her back into an easy sleep. One he had opened his eyes he found her face drawn in pain, cheeks wet as she let out a silent sob. Bucky had then been shocked out of his sleepy ness into a fully awake state, hands moving to cup her cheeks. She seemed frozen him place, arms flat and legs straight.
He had called to her over and over with no success, his own heart racing in time with hers as she cried and begged for it to stop, started clawing at the clasp of her shirt. He helped her out of the compression shirt she had fallen asleep in but she continued to claw at her chest, her movements growing desperate. He had struggled to restrain her, tumbling as he tried not to hurt her as she drew blood near her collarbone.
She continued to cry and claw, Bucky pinned her arms at the shoulders, sitting behind her with his arms crossed over her chest. She continued to scratch but his arms now blocked her bare chest. Tears continued to fall over her cheeks as she cried and prayed for the pain to stop, Bucky held her close, his own vision blurry as he spoke soft comforts to her in an attempt to bring her out of her nightmare.
He knew better than to shock her out of it, knew it could make the situation worse so he just held her, his heart aching as he was forced to watch her suffer. All he could think as she cried was of why, what was torturing her to get this reaction.
Last he recalled her nightmares had been few and far between, as were his after daisy joined them. What had happened during his absence to cause this, and how could he ever make it up, to her for leaving. How could he expect her to trust him again, to forgive him.
Some time passed and her hands stopped, Bucky pulled his head back, sitting up straighter and continuing to speak to her.
"It's okay, I'm right here. Your safe" he continued as she slowly came to, took in her surroundings and the situation. She had looked so tired when he told her what had happened. He had been so scared for her, for what she was going through.
He had no plans to let her go after that. After getting her injuries cleaned they had all but been locked in their room for two good days.
They were still drained so most of their time was spent sleeping, always tangled together or wrapped in the others arms. They woke only a few times, spoke very little except when Bucky slyly urged daisy to speak, just to hear her voice.
He had been watching her sleep, having woken from a nightmare of his own a short while ago, when she opened her eyes to his and smiled.
"Are you gonna regale me with your fantastic adventures?" Bucky had asked, hand reaching out to twirl around a purple strand of hair, watching the bright hair twist around his finger before returning his focus to Daisy's eyes. She had smiled and sighed dramatically as if it were a chore before giving him a quick run down of what she had done.
"I went to space." She said, getting a confused and then excited look from bucky who had a secret love for the new, the amazing inventions and advancements in the world, space travel being amongst them.
"Space" he repeated as daisy watched him, smile widening. She let out a soft laugh and nodded, head still against her pillow. "Really?"
"Yep, I got to travel across the galaxy, visit different planets, some of them friendly, and see so many different alien species" she explained, never looking away from him.
"Aliens, like that talking raccoon-"
"That's rocket" daisy cut him off, aware of rockets aversion to being called a raccoon (despite the fact that he did seem to be one). "He's kind of become part of the group but yes, like rocket, though a lot of them were more or less human in shape and size"
Bucky tried to imagine it. He had seen a lot of new faces upon his return, dr strange alone had had a team with him that had looked mostly human, he had assumed any extra appendages or differences had been because they were inhuman. Like the inhuman daisy had told them about, Gordon, or Reyna, their outside changed due to the transformation.
She spent half an hour describing the planets and constellations she had seen before yawning, now on her back as she attempted to paint an imaginary image on the roof. They fell asleep imagining a planet with an ocean of lava.
When he had woken the next daisy had already been awake, Natasha on her way out the door as daisy thanked her. She had brought them food, ensuring everyone ate regularly while in lockdown.
Daisy had a softness on her face as she watched the redhead walk away, those eyes turning on him once she was gone, smiling gently. She sat with her legs crossed at the edge of the bed and Bucky wondered how he hadn't woken when she shifted.
"Hey doll, how you feeling?" He asked, hand absently finding hers and he shifted into a sitting position, leaning forward for a kiss. She obliged and sighed happily, content.
"Greatfull." She replied. Bucky watched her, head tilting before he matched her smiled, stealing another kiss before daisy made them stop to eat.
He had been picking at his pancakes when a thought stuck him. He was thinking of what had happened with the battle with thanos, how they had obtained the stones to bring everyone back, daisy missing them by a minute and Natasha late return.
"You said you met some unique characters in space," Bucky said, "on your way home..."
Daisy met his eye mid bite, nodding before chewing. He was trying to understand how Nat had come back if what Clint had said about the stones being true then-
"Figure out our little trick?" Daisy asked, pausing him mid thought. She smiled around a new mouthful of pancakes, syrup dripping down her chin. He was distracted by the sight momentarily before remembering himself.
"Loki's found me, while we were in space." Daisy said. "Hitched a ride and offered his help."
"Loki... the guy who tried to take over New York?" Bucky questioned, daisy nodded her confirmation and Bucky frowned, not understanding how he would offer any help and why.
"He's been on the run from thanos, faked his death... long story short he is the reason Natasha is alive and we got the soul stone," she said, again he shook his head in confusion, pancakes on his for dripping back onto his plate.
"How?"
"He switched places with her, used his magic so that he would come back after sacrificing himself. He waited on vormir for six years to be picked up by carol and Nat."
"Wait here was there for six years?" Bucky asked doubtfully.
"Yeah, well." Daisy started "he's basically a god so he claimed it would be nothing to him, a blink of the eye. That said I wouldn't be surprised if he had a was off the planet somehow and drinking, lounging around or something." She waved her hand about as she spoke to amplify her words.
Bucky watched her movements, the way her eyes crinkled after another wave, her smile broken for only a second as pain broke through. Her smile returned quickly but her hands dropped gently to her lap. He bit his tongue and returned his full attention to her words, speaking around a bite of toast.
"He's a bit of a dick but," she swallowed her mouthful. "He's genuine. And I'm not saying we owe him, but,"
"He's earned a chance to redeem himself." Bucky guessed, daisy nodded enthusiastically, telling him he had guessed right.
Their conversation had resolved around the last few moths, when daisy was in space. Bucky didn't comment on that, or how she steered the conversation back to space whenever it started towards thanos or the team. He had questions, how did she get back involved with shield, what happened after the snap, where was Steve and the rest of the team while daisy was gone.
He supposed he'd get answers soon enough, didn't want to put daisy through any stress so soon after the battle. So he listened to he talk about the things that made her smile, the plants that glowed in the moonlight and drinks the sparkles like the stars. Honestly he was fascinated by it, eager to know more and sad that he hadn't been there, by her side on this adventure.
Today she told him about a great blue planet covered by ice and lit by three suns. Despite the icy design it had been warm there. She described it like a beach but the ocean what a mixture of shaved and cubed ice with creatures far larger than sharks swimming in its depths. They were in and out all day, falling asleep in each other's arms or pressed together under the covers with gentle touches and fiery kisses.
They woke to find lunch on a table by the door and dinner much the same as they rested when their bodies told them too. It was odd to get used to, with so many years fighting against exhaustion to push forward, to get stronger. Sleeping when the weary feeling overtook them was just new to them and Bucky wondered how the others were coping.
It wasn't until he heard the voices in the hall the next morning that their peace was shattered. Having been in the midst of waking Bucky had sat up quickly when he heard the raised voices, doors opening and closing to confront them. He had moved without thinking, daisy, previously beside him, now behind him as he shifted on the bed.
She didn't move, lost to sleep, but daisy watched the door, listened to the voices in the hall. Nat had confronted the group, shield it seemed from their familiar voices. They seemed rushed, frustrated and pushing for information. He had just heard her name when she woke behind him, shifting slightly on the bed.
She felt her hand on his arm and relaxed, he hadn't realised he was holding himself so tightly, so stiff.
"What's going on?" she asked, voice rough with sleep, he softened a little, smiling inside at the sound. But then he remembered who was outside their room.
"Shield."
—-
Of course she'd go off with them, of course she wanted time. Bucky ran a hand over his face finding his muscles sore from disuse. Natasha was with her, he reminded himself of this as he moved down the hall in the opposite direction, walking away from her despite the lingering ache in his chest at their separation.
It was unjustified, Daisy was safe and just minutes away, in the same building, and yet the ache didn't dim as he searched for Steve.
He had wanted to hit something, someone, when they had asked for daisy, demanded to know where she was. Why should they get to see her? Who are they to demand anything of her. But he headed for the living room where everyone had been gathered a few days ago.
That was another ache, for the friend he had neglected since his return. He should have pushed to see him more. Bucky didn't catch the footsteps behind him, the hand on his shoulder shocking him out of his thoughts. It was familiar, something Steve did often as Bucky himself had done back in the day. It would never stop feeling odd. To have Steve stand so y'all beyond his confidence, actually standing taller than the brunette.
Bucky tossed him a look and Steve frowned.
"What's wrong?" Steve ask, Bucky shook his head and righted himself, his mind. He smiled. He pulled Steve into a hug, squeezing him tight. Steve hugged him back.
—-
"Shield?" Steve asked, looking to the door. Bucky nodded minutely, hunched over in his chair, eyes on the floor.
The blonde had repeated that three time's now, and that's after Bucky stopped him from storming down the hall to find daisy once he had explained the situation.
"Nats with her," Bucky repeated, "and she can handle herself, of course." He added before dragging his hands through his hair. "I'm just having trouble sitting still here while they're down there with daisy after-"
"No I understand buck," Steve said, turning his attention from the door the his distressed friend. Steve dropped a hand onto Buckys shoulder. "I'm not helping, okay... do you want to go for a run?" Steve suggested, offering a distraction.
"No" Bucky said to quickly. "No, I'd prefer to stay close," he looked up to Steve's concerned face. "In case the chance arises to hit one of them, I would very much like to volunteer." He smiled at the idea and Steve released an amused breath of air.
"Well the. How about a round in the gym" he asked, "if Daisy's not done with shield by the time your a little more relaxed then we can come back here and whip up some food for everyone." He nudged Bucky when he didn't respond. "Come on, it's been a while since you've burnt water."
"I didn't burn-" Bucky paused, realising he had been baited, and smiled up at his friends. He shook his head but agreed to follow Steve a floor up to an open gym where the had a short spar session and hit the bag for a while.
—-
Her palms were sweating, arms aching as she riddled with her sleeves. Why had she let go of Bucky? She had let him walk away, separating herself from him and now her heart thumped in her chest as she sat across from her shield team.
She had woken to his stiff form, felt him guard her and watched as he assessed every face old a new, for a threat. She didn't want to force him to talk to them, to even be in the same room with them, hadn't thought about her plans. But then he was gone and the distance felt it stretched on forever.
Mac and bobby had explained their presence, supposedly going against Coulsons orders on leaving this base alone to get word on her.
No one had any word on the battle following Thanos's defeat, the casualties and circumstances. Steve and Nat had done some minor press but have kept most details to themselves simply telling the public that thanos was defeated and everyone who had been affected by the snap had been returned.
This included Coulsons team who hadn't been granted any more information than the public. The only reason they knew anything past that was due to the fact that they helped to move the unconscious heroes to this base once the battle was over.
They were talking, asking something about what had happened. Natasha answered for her as daisy absently pulled at her sleeves. Someone was repeating her name.
"Daisy?" It was Mack, eyes soft and confused. She turned to him slowly, finding all eyes on her. "You okay?" What a simple question.
"No" she replied, then furrowed her brows. "I mean yes, yeah I'm," she shook her head when their confusion didn't seem to clear, she let out a deep breath. "I'm managing it's just been-" she huffed. "What are you doing here?"
The group shared a look before turning back to her. Daisy watched the exchange but her mind drifted before she could think on it.
"We came to make sure you were okay, last we heard you were unconscious and that was over a week ago. " deke said. "Your team wouldn't give us anything and Coulson-"
"You don't get to demand things from my team." Daisy snipped. She brought herself back, releasing her sleeves and running her hands through her hair. "Sorry, no thats not- okay, I'm okay or, well, recovering."
The shield team watched her and she forced herself not to fiddle once again. She had spent month in space with some of them, months playing cards with hunter and bobby and staring at the stars with Jemma. And yet, them being here felt wrong, being here had felt wrong from the moment she had woken up but after spending her time with Bucky the place didn't seem to affect her so much and now, with shield sitting across from her all she could think was that this was wrong.
Bobby asked her what had happened, after they landed, wondering why daisy had just taken off, if she knew where the asguardian they picked up had disappeared to.
"She decided to travel with carol." Daisy decided to tell them, "and once we landed I just headed straight home to try and catch my team before they enacted their plans but I was to late and I missed them." She said.
"The rest is a complicated mess of gathering the stones together to bring everyone back, having a building dropped on us and battling thanos and his army before ultimately defeating him by using the stones again." She turned her focus to the floor, leaning over in her seat, elbows on her knees.
"The stones took their toll on those who used them," Natasha said. "As your aware," she added pointedly. "They have side effects, everyone has been recovering since the battle."
The red head said in a relaxed position, partially reclined on her chair, she commanded everyone's attention with the smallest movements.
"That is why you haven't heard anything" there was a hint of a bite in her tone that left the shield team silent, well, almost silent.
Deke spoke up, undeterred by nats sharp look though he had the smarts enough to shift further from her position. "You've been out with captain America reassuring the press but you couldn't give us a ring to let us know daisy was okay?" He questioned in a not too kind tone. Daisy cringed internally but didn't respond.
"We contacted everyone who needed to know," Nat shrugged. "You weren't on that list." Ouch.
It was silent after that, deke stewed while everyone else just stared at the floor.
"Look, you would have heard if something had gone wrong, if you want my team to trust you you can't just-"
"We're sorry," Mac said. "I know we have no right to do so after everything but we were worried about you and when we didn't hear-"
"We wanted to make sure you were okay." Bobbie simplified. Daisy nodded, careful not to say to much. "But we should have thought this through better." She added when daisy didn't respond.
"Well, you know where the exit is." Natasha said, not getting up from her seat. Daisy didn't miss the hurt look mac tried to hide, or the offended look deke wore openly.
"I'm alive and functional." Daisy told them, "but we're still recovering and not at all ready to really get into it. Eventually there will be a mission report and you'll get all the details but until then,"
"Yeah, yeah okay." Mack stood. "Our lines always open" he told her, looking like he wanted to say more before reluctantly giving her a tight smile and stepping away. Deke looked from him to daisy and back, mouth hanging open, disagreement on his lips. Mac gave him a sharp look and the younger man stood down, trudging over to the doorway where he now stood.
Bobbie have her a warm email and a nod, less resistant to doing as she was told. She was glad to see the blonde, she had been he closest companion in space, their relationship mending, reforming into something new.
"Hey, I got to break into a secure base." Hunter said simply as he moved to follow his wife. "That's another thing I can cross off my bucket list, but yeah," he shrugged "I'm glad your alive." He winked at her when daisy rolled her eyes his way.
It was comforting to have hunter be so casual, it was familiar and natural for him, unlike how Mack was forcing himself to stand back. She knew she should have asked how their team was, about fitz and Simmons, how Coulson was going with whatever chaos came from everyone's return. Instead she smiled at the group and they took that as their hint to leave, turning together for the hall.
May remained behind, quiet as always. Once the team was far enough away she turned to daisy with a hard look. Eyes roaming her former student.
"I'm fine, I swear it." Daisy told her, gesturing to Nat who had yet to stand from her seat. "You think she would let me out of bed if I weren't?" Natasha simply smiled and it occurred to her a moment later that May might not know how protective the red head was.
Despite knowing the woman from previous missions, Nat had a reputation for being harsh and deadly, a side that daisy rarely saw since joining the team.
Mays lip curled up at the side. "I believe you" she said, "I just wanted to see for myself"
"And Coulson wanted a visual?" Daisy asked knowingly. May tilted her head to the right in confirmation then looked to Natasha.
"I apologise for this, obviously it was inappropriate and I should have stopped it from happening instead of joining them."
"Your not the only one who knew better, I'm sure." Nat replied. "But I do understand your reasoning, and I'm glad it didn't go... astray" Nat almost purred, like the idea of their intrusion causing some fight was exciting, actually, to Nat it would have been.
Daisy's eyes dropped to the cool metal chair across from her, the silver so different from that of Buckys arm. The chair didn't hold the look of comfort and calmness, I mean, it was just a chair, a hunk of metal design for meetings and visitors. But the sight of it, light bouncing slightly off the top of it, that drew Daisy's eye, that turned her attention to the man somewhere on this base that held her heart.
Her mind drifted from the chair, not one she'd put someone comfortable such as the base or perhaps a home. No she wanted real couches, the kind that tons of people could pile onto. Big enough to share, maybe able to fold out for guests, with the family she'd built she was sure they'd need the extra space. Chairs for living not just sitting, Bucky would like that, she was sure.
She tried to picture a home with him, teasing her as she tried her hand at something other than pasta for dinner before he nudges her aside and she takes over the teasing as he slips on an apron for her amusement. Her lips quirk up at the thought, she'd never really considered a house in the suburbs, happy in a little apartment, but then, she'd been alone in those apartments, in her van or in the orphanage, always alone.
She didn't give herself time to dwell on the feelings that followed that thought as his smile flickered through her mind, the thought of home didn't mean anything without him. Bucky was her home now, the compound- the compound, was their home. She glared at the chair staring hard before.
*CRASH*
She jumped in her seat at the sound, blinking back to reality, she quickly looked around to find the room empty, apart from the redhead sitting in the seat to her right, unfazed by the noise. Daisy looked down, an ache in her outstretched wrist.
"Lunch is soon." Natasha told her, stretching in her seat. "We have time to talk.."
She'd been so out of it, how long ago did May leave? Daisy let out a shaky breath.
"I'm sorry" she said, shoulders dropping.
"Not my chair," Nat replied with an easy shrug, but daisy shook her head. "No. I'm sorry you've had to run around after me, after everything. Have you even had a break?"
Natasha smiled warmly to herself.
"You," she started. "Constantly amaze me, I'm really proud of you, you know that?"
Daisy turned to her, brows furrowed in confusion. Did she say proud.
"You've managed to look after yourself since the battle, usually you fight against any medical advice." She said. "And your plan, with the stones," she moved from her seat, crouching down in front of daisy and grabbing her hands. "Your plan saved my life, I have no way to repay you for that." Her face was so soft in this moment, eyes shining. Daisy started, lost for words.
"I'm not over working myself to care for everyone, your my family and despite the irritations and arguments, I've learned that family will do anything for you." Natasha said, squeezing Daisy's hands in her own. "I wasn't sure we were there, despite everything this team had been through, how many sacrifices and choices we made together, it wasn't until you joined us, that we felt whole." She smiled. "Thank you, for staying with us, for choosing us."
Daisy was crying, tears falling over her cheeks as she blinked at the assassin crouched in front of her. Choosing? They chose her, she was grateful that they hadn't kicked her out. She was reckless and stubborn and pigheaded and the had stuck with her, it wasn't the other way around, they had filled the holes in her that she didn't know was there. She opened her mouth to speak but instead natasha stood, wrapping her arms around her neck in a tight hug.
Daisy limbs moved on their own, hugging her back, wet face ticking into her shoulder.
"Just remember, you are always going to be apart of this family and we are all here if you need anything." She pulled back. "Even if you just need someone to listen." She met her eye and nodded.
"Thank you" daisy finally said, voice breaking. She cleared her throat. "I don't know what to say." She didn't, she was so moved she had so many thoughts and emotions rushing through her mind that she didn't know where to start.
Natasha wore a small smile, Daisy was sure her cheeks actually turned a shade darker. Was she blushing.
"That might have been too much." Nat admitted. "I'm not good with the emotional vulnerability, need work huh?"
"No, no, sorry " daisy let out a soft laugh. "I'm just terrible at receiving any sort of praise and I mean, you guys took me in and gave me a home, I owe everyone so much-"
"You owe us nothing, family remember." Natasha met her smile with one of her own. "But I do want to know, how are you doing, mentally?"
Daisy didn't let her eyes drop, didn't let her smile falter.
"I'm good, I mean I'm extremely happy, great full that everyone is okay and over the moon to have everyone back. I'm so thankful to have James back." Her eyes watered, "but I'm still scared that, that everything will turn at some point"
"He's not going anywhere" Nat reassured her. "Trust me, I saw it in his eyes in the hall today, he's not letting anything seperate the two of you again." Daisy stared at her, trying to see whatever it was Nat had seen, to read on the redheads face what he had expressed.
"What about sleep?"
"I head a nightmare a few night ago but since then I've been pretty much fine." She said, fingers Twitching. "I, in the dream, I was strapped to a table as someone cut out my heart. They told me I don't need it anymore, I woke up sitting on the floor against Bucky, he had to pin me down cause I was freaking out. That's when I scratched up my chest, I'm not sure if the doctors told you."
"They didn't, I knew you were in to see them but I was told it was just a checkup for general pain. But I'm glad you got checked out."
"Thanks," daisy said, followed by a soft laugh. "I'm growing as a person."
Natasha smiled at that, then seeing daisy hand brush against her chest where her heart sat, she said. "When I got back, even though carol had told me the plan, so I knew everyone would have thought I died. But when I got back, and I saw the expressions on everyone's face, the heartbreak you all shared, I didn't know how to react." Natasha told her. "And since then, clients woken up screaming twice, seeing my face, watching me fall to my death." She shook her head.
"I'm great full to Loki, for saving Clint. But I can't help but hating him for what it out Clint through. I hate myself for letting it happen."
"Nat"
"It's just something we have to get through, it will take time, but loss has a lasting effect the same as any trauma." She gave daisy a tight smile, eyes full of warmth. "But we will get through it together, that's the perks of having a family I've found, and a partner. We're both lucky in that respect."
"Yeah" daisy smiled warmly. He thoughts went to him again, strong arms wrapping around her shoulders from behind, pulling her into his embrace. Her whole chest warmed as if he were there, holding her.
"Okay," Nat said, pushing to her feet. "On that note, I recon it's time we found our fellas and grabbed a snack." Daisy stood quickly, to quickly as her vision darkened. Natasha chuckled as she swayed on her feet. "Someone's eager."
Daisy regained her site and pulled a face at the redhead. "Says the woman halfway out the door." She smirked.
"Come on," Nat replied. "Everyone should be somewhat better by now, and likely roused by the ruckus shield made, you think we can find enough stuff to do a movie night?" Daisy jumped at the idea, moving to catch up to Natasha in the hall.
—-
"That doesn't count!"
Yelling, that's what Natasha and daisy walked into the hall to find. Barely muffled by the wall between them and distance between. Daisy faltered slightly in her steps, brows furrowed at the sudden outburst. Natasha simply rolled her eyes.
Laughing followed the shout and by the time Natasha opened the door more words were being thrown.
"No, it's- that's not how it works!" Tony shouted at an unfamiliar man who wore an amused smile. Tony's hands running through his hair as if he were itching to pull it out.
"Yes it is" the man, Peter quill? Daisy thought, shouted back with his own level of insistence, voice almost breaking.
They were gathered around a large rectangular table, cups set up in semi circles on either side. Tony kept glancing at the setup with stress in his eyes. Steve stood on quills side while rhodey stood by Tony's, much more relaxed by whatever was going on but still eying the table with doubt.
Several people had pulled up chairs or leaned against walls watching the exchange, nobody had noticed their entrance.
"Your meant to toss it-"
Natasha made a point to shut the door with an audible click, drawing the rooms attention to her and Daisy.
"Lunch is ready" Clint said easily, pushing of the wall to move to the bench where the prepared food sat waiting.
"We were just trying to teach these guys beer pong." Tony explained weakly, gesturing to the mess of a table where daisy noticed, as she stepped further into the room, was wet in places, pooling around several cups.
"Non alcoholic" Rhodey added pointedly. Smart since most of them were still on pain meds.
"You don't need to teach me how to play it I learned it when I was thirteen-"
"Noooo" tony cut the man off, "no no, whatever this is." He made a wild gesture at the tables layout. "Is not beer pong, it's not even on the same planet-"
"Well duh Tony" rhodey snarked.
"You know what I mean." Tony responded.
"Oh I know, but I also know this guys literally, not from this planet."
"Actually," Steve butt in. "He is from this planet, he was just raised, uh, elsewhere" he stumbled through his words, not quite sure how to describe quills... departure.
"Yeah, whatever, but it's the same general idea." Quill said, gesturing back to the table.
"In theory, you'd think so." Tony huffed, he was getting really worked up over this. "But looking at this, and the rules you claim there to be-"
"Oh, now you think I'm making up rules?"
This was not going to end well. Daisy stepped up, Natasha having rolled her eyes and followed Clint to the kitchen.
"All, here's the plan." She said, placing both hands on the table, it was wet and sticky and she immediately pulled back, her sleeves now tainted by the liquid. She pulled a face as everyone turned to her, shaking out her sleeves. "You know how to write? In English?" Daisy asked quill who crossed his arms, rocket, who she hadn't noticed earlier, chuckled nearby.
"I know how to write some things in English." He replied.
"Just write it down as usual, they've got tech to translate it" rocket told his, friend?
"Okay, well do that then. I'm not busy today, I'll have a look at your rules and compare them to our ones, see where they differ and sort the whole thing out. That way you can have another round after dinner tonight." She looked from quill to tony who wore a small glare, directed at the man across from him.
"Sound like a plan?" She asked when neither spoke. After a brief look at one another they nodded and turned away. "Fantastic." She said, clapping her hands together. The wet material of her sleeve clapped against her palms and she grimaced.
"Cool, now" she looked around the room. "Can anyone direct me to James current location?" Clint was bringing food from the small kitchen, Steve having moved to help as Natasha carried mugs of steaming liquid.
"Lover boy ducked out to fetch Wanda and Sam just, should be back soon" Tony to,d her, leaving his spot at his end of the table to come to Daisy's side.
"How you doing mini me?" He asked, daisy took a moment to look him over. Tired but no serious injuries, he had a brace around his wrist that she hadn't noticed before, a cast?
"I'm handling things, healing slowly." She smiled up at him, his face warm, eyes bright.
"What about you?"
"We won, I'm fantastic."
