RAW: 11/6/2007
Monday Night RAW was live at the Wachovia Arena in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Mr. McMahon popped up on the TV screen not being exactly 'with it'. Tonight will be Mr. McMahon 'appreciation night'. The loss of his title has had an effect on his psyche, but he reassured us he had control over his faculties. He said tonight we would hear from people who had had experiences with him throughout the years. He said tonight would be the defining moment of his life. He looked at the camera gingerly before the opening credits hit.
JR and King welcomed us to the show before handing it over to SmackDown announcers JBL and Michael Cole who ran over the draft stipulation. Each match will dictate which brand gets to make a draft choice. When they get the pick, the pick will be made at random and anyone, champions included, are eligible to be drafted. Also, one brand could accumulate more draft choices than another brand.
It's time to kick things off with RAW's WWE Champion taking on the SmackDown World Heavyweight Champion. the Bladewolf vs Edge.
OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!
'Oh, ah, ah, ah, ah! Get up, come on get down with the sickness!'
Down with the Sickness plays to a loud pop and out comes the Bladewolf with the WWE Championship around his waist, baseball bat in his right hand. He makes his way down the ramp towards the ring. He puts the bat down against the steel steps before he slides into the ring and takes off his title, raising it with both hands on it. His theme dies down as he takes his coat off.
Edge's theme hits and out comes the World Heavyweight Champion to boos from the fans. Whoever won this match, then their brand would win the first draft pick of the WWE Draft 2007.
Edge slides into the ring and glared at Bladewolf who glared back. Bladewolf has not forgotten how Edge got that World Heavyweight Championship, cashing in on a weakned and beaten Undertaker after Mark Henry assaulted the Deadman, giving Edge the chance to cash in and win the title. Edge took off his coat and tossed it out the ring before he hands his title to the referee as does Bladewolf with his.
The referee handed the two World titles to someone at ringside before he calls for the bell.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
Bladewolf and Edge circle each other before they lock up in a test of strength, Bladewolf quickly shoving Edge back before booting the World Heavyweight Champion in the face. Bladewolf then grabs Edge from behind and goes for a german Suple but Edge uses his quickness and agility to get out of it and slide between Bladewolf's legs, backing away as the WWE Champion turns to him.
Edge got to his feet and the two locked up again, this time Edge pushed back and was able to get Bladewolf leaning on the ropes until Bladewolf kneed him in the stomach then headbutts Edge, making him stumble back. Bladewolf goes for a clothesline but Edge ducks it and Bladewolf turns into a hard right from Edge, who hits several punches to the face of the Bladewolf then does Russian Leg Sweep and locks in a hold on Bladeowlf's right leg, causing Bladewolf to yell in pain before he broke free of it by shoving Edge back with his feet.
Edge stumbled into the corner before he takes Bladewolf down with a clothesline, hammering away at the Bladewolf's skull before Bladewolf rolled them over and starts hammering away at Edge with lefts and rights then gives him a big headbutt before he goes for the cover but Edge kicks out at two. Bladewolf picks Edge up and goes for a hard right but Edge ducks it and locks in a headlock on Bladewolf. Bladewolf managed to fend it off briefly before Edge hit him with a throat thrust and tossed the WWE Champion to the outside like a sack of potatoes.
Bladewolf caught a shoulder thrust to the mid section and a sunset flip on his way back into the ring before Edge sucker punched him after kicking out to maintain his advantage. Edge choked Bladewolf out a little bit before bringing him out of the corner and hitting a nasty heel kick for a two count.
Edge jaw jacked with the referee for a little too long and when he turned around Bladewolf lifted him up into a Fireman's Carry, looking to end the match here, but Edge wiggled out and clocked Bladewolf with a boot to the face before slowing things down with a reverse chin lock. Bladewolf carried the weight well and was able to power out of the hold. he then grabbed Edge's right ankle, going for the Grapevine Ankle lock but Edge reached the ropes and was able to punt Bladewolf in the face to daze the WWE Champion.
The World Heavyweight Champion went for a cover, but Bladewolf kicked out at two, before trying to exchange shots with Bladewolf in the middle of the ring. Bladewolf gained the advantage, rebounded off the ropes and gave Edge a big boot to the face that floored the World Heavyweight Champion. Bladewolf rebounds off the ropes again and hits a leg drop across Edge;s throat, going for the cover but Edge kicks out at two.
Bladewolf got to his feet and grabs Edge by the throat, pulling him to his feet befor ehe lifts Edge up but Edge gets out of his grip and Bladewolf turns around into a kick to the stomach...AND AN IMPALER DDT! Edge gets to his feet with a crazed look as he backs into the corner and yells for Bladewolf to get to his feet. Bladewolf eventually does so and turns around...INTO A SPEAR! EDGE HOOKS THE LEGS! ONE! TWO! THREE! EDGE WINS!
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
Edge's theme plays before the draft annoying buzzer thing went off and SmackDown's first draft pick is...THE GREAT KHALI!
And that's it for this chapter everyone. I hope you enjoyed the match. I noticed how some matches on RAW and SmackDown are like 5 minutes long, while big PPV matches almost go 20 minutes long.
If I was to, say, have Bladewolf vs Sting at WrestleMania...I'd make that match the Main Event and go about an hour long.
