"Though it is curious how you three are here...Such a spike of energy through my illusion. How did you break it?"

"I take it you're the one with the cubes?" Sanctum scowled, noting how the golden orb narrowed at him in what he thought was a deep seeded hatred. Which was odd, considering he never saw this jackal before...Right?

"Hmm...you three seem to intrigue the ruby...What's so fascinating about lookalikes with a large dog?"

Scourge snarled at that, the purple markings glowing threateningly at the dark chuckling," Hey, this 'dog' will wreck your shit pal!" Steel snapped from behind the large werehog.

"Who are you?" Sanctum snapped, a cold spear appearing in his hands as his energy flared subtly.

The jackal chuckled," I once had a name...but now I am a part of something far greater, something far stronger. My enemies tremble before my name, and as such, you shall refer to me as my truest name." The ebony jackal gave a rather graceful bow as he floated," You may call me…...Infinite~"

"...Infinite…" Sanctum repeated slowly, deadpanning a bit at the chuckle from the jackal. "...Really?"

The single gold orb narrowed in faint rage and the scoff of a laugh as the armored hedgehog turned slightly," Alright, good news. I think I found the madman with too much ego to spare."

"Excuse me?"

"Well, clearly your illusions are the reason that there's a jungle by the city, right?" Sanctum gripped his lance with a faint smirk, something that made the jackal bristle subtly and rumble a nearly silent growl in his chest.

"And the casino!"

"And, the casino, thank you Steel. So, tell me I'm wrong? Go on." The ebony hedgehog waited a moment before smirking a bit more. The faint low bark from Scourge that came in mild warning was waved off with a laugh," His architecture skills bring shame to all moebian kind-"

"The jungle was here prior to my intervention." Infinite snarled slightly, growing a bit more infuriated as the ebony hedgehog blinked,"...Huh, well, seems Steel was right again about the rich people doing that nonsense."

"Told you dude." The younger albino subtly balled his fists as he continued to float behind Scourge, though seemed to glare a bit more in confidence at the jackal.

"So...what, you just wanted to throw a casino in...because…?" Sanctum rolled his hand forward, tilting his head as his rubies grew half lidded," Well, don't leave us in suspense 'Infinite'. If that's your real name."

The jackal paused as he let his gaze rest on the trio, his wild white locks flowing in an unfelt wind as his long tail flicked.

"...My goals are far beyond your form of understanding."

"Alright, don't want to admit your building planning is weak then fine," Sanctum raised a brow at the immediate tense and snarl from the floating jackal, the odd pinkish purple gem humming in power as he floated just a bit higher.

"What did you call me?"

"Uh- Sanc?" Steel tensed and coiled his aura up from the odd twitching and growling from the jackal.

"What? It's true, the placement of a casino next to a jungle, next to a city; even if the city and jungle was already here, is a weak plan placement! A weak form of planning too if all that could be done is to add said casino-"

"I'M. NOT. WEAK."

The orange striped hedgehog turned slowly, raising a brow curiously at the trembling jackal,"...Okay…" The ruby irises flicked back," I just said the plan was weak-"

"I'M. NOT. WEAK! GRAAAAAAAAAAH!" With a dangerous slice of his clawed hands, cubes exploded out from Infinite's core. The single gold eye wild in a rage that made even the 'Ultimate lifeform' pause.

"Sanc, I think we confirmed he's the dude with the cubes, can we just-" Steel flailed in a panic as Scourge lunged forward, his sharp teeth snapping down on the back of Sanctum's armor and roughly pulling him back before a slew of cubes slammed down on him.

"BOSS!"

The emerald werehog tensed when he felt a slight give of the armor under his teeth, a thick arm immediately going around his middle before it slid upward. Carefully the clawed hand that settled on his side reached up and tugged it down sharply, quickly shifting and making the ebony hedgehog fall onto his back like some hellish steed.

The trio felt themselves tense in abject wonder as the spot where Sanctum stood moments before was engulfed in cubes before glitching in a shrill scream. "...Ah."

"I will take immense joy in subjecting you fools to your innermost fears!" Infinite snarled, his arms flying back as more glitching cubes appeared behind him.

"Pretty sure you aren't any of that." Sanctum sighed, earning a glare from the werehog below him.

"Oh...I will be.." The distorted baritone lifted into a soft chuckle before a single ebony arm shot forward, the clawed hand curling and sending a tidal wave of glitching purplish red cubes forward as the chuckle reverberated into a maniac laughter. With a twist, Steel shot out to the side in a blur of red; a psychokinetic wave of red crashing into the cubes in an attempt to block the incoming attack.

The albino time traveller tensed when the cubes hit the energy wall with a dull thud only to see the cubes glitch aggressively and steadily push through the wall with ease. "Oh my go-"

"MOVE! NOW!" Sanctum tried to stand on Scourge's back only to yelp when the werehog shot forward. His Anarchy Lance collapsing as his hands slammed down on the broad shoulders with wide crimson eyes," SCOURGE WHAT ARE YOU-"

The forest green werehog snarled as he spun to avoid the cubes that had managed to slip past the red barrier. Making his rider thrash wildly in a panic to hang on.

Grasping a rock from the odd tiled ground, Scourge threw his hand back as he tried to stand up a bit more; wincing from the sharp pain in his spine as he hurled the rock at the jackal.

Amber, crimson, and blue widened as the rock slammed into the front of the mask with sharp force. The jackal flew backward as he clutched his face with a sharp cry, the odd gray mask fracturing a bit over his eye.

"Oh-"

The cubes paused, coiling and swaying like snakes as a gross hiss of energy crackled from the gem angrily. Taking the chance, Sanctum gave a snarl as he let his own energy crackle and spark back into existence. Twisting on Scourge's back, the armored hedgehog shot a blue lance out and into the paused cubes. The jackal curled and spasmed as his cubes splintered and collapsed as he fell down slightly before his own aura stubbornly made him shoot back up. "Of all my hate…" The cold gold iris peered out through the cracked lense as the ebony hedgehog leapt up to slam a lance into the jackal. "Never has it been this intense…" With a flicker of glitching cubes, the jackal disappeared before the lance could bury its way into his abdomen.

"SANC!" Steel shot out his psychokinetic aura out in an effort to stop the surging cubic tendrils. His heart froze in his chest as the ends glitched and appeared from above rather than below, how could an attack change a position that quickly-

Unless...The amber orbs looked around, noticing how twitchy and spasmic the area was around them, panicking as his aura didn't make it over Sanctum in time.

Were they in an illusion?

With a sharp grunt, the tendril slammed into the ebony hedgehog. His sparking lance fading as he collided into the ground with a sharp shout.

With a deep bark, Scourge lunged as the purple markings flared on his body as he let his clawed hands dig at the cubes attempting to suffocate Sanctum beneath them. The ice blues widening as the cubes raced up his own arms, curling and tightening like the hellishly large snake they saw mere minutes before.

"Scou-" Sanctum felt his mouth cover in the cubes, muffling his words as the crimsons disappeared behind the overcoming swarm. The last thing he could make out was the large werehog attempting to pull him free as cubes rushed up the thicker arms.

Scourge let out a sharp roar as he felt something pull him downward, cubes filling his own vision as he collapsed to the ground.

With a horrified stare, Steel watched his two teammates and roommates spasm on the ground before stilling in a sprawled out starfish. Sanctum laying on his back while Scourge rested on his stomach. Their mouths slightly agape as the cubes glitched and sparked over their faces as they completely went still.

The only thing telling that they were still alive was the fact that their chests were slowly rising and falling.

"I will say, it's rather amusing you of all people remain untouched by sheer luck.." Steel whipped around with a tiny snarl, his aura flaring defensively as the jackal reappeared. Infinite crossed his arms coldly, his cracked mask sparking in the hellish purple red energy as it steadily sealed itself. "The last telepath I fought barely survived our last encounter. It's no surprise you're barely able to keep up."

Steel narrowed his eyes as he stood in a defensive posture, scowling as he growled softly. "I'm not like anything you fought before, old man."

Infinite cackled, tittering off into an amused rumble as he tilted his head slowly," How so? Your ability didn't stop my attack, couldn't save your friends...You're just like that silver hedgehog that tries oh so hard for his little rebellion~" The mad canine missed the spark of pure anger in the young telepath; a faint greenish glow sparking and humming beneath his bangs.

"I...am nothing like that dweeb." Steel snarled, his red aura sparking as he floated up to meet the jackal with a cold scowl. "Really?" Infinite gestured to the fallen pair behind him," The result appears the same~ And it's no illusion, I assure you~"

Steel flared, his energy roughly shoving the jackal back as he sneered," No, you didn't hear me. I'm nothing like that dweeb you weak asshat."

The single gold orb narrowed as the younger teen let his aura flare sharper as he casually cracked his knuckles. "I hope you don't mind crying old man, because I'm going to rip your shit," Steel threw his hand forward, the sharp psychokinetic wave snapping forward and slamming into the jackal with hard force.

"So hard, that you're gonna wish it was one of your stupid illusions."

Carefully, Steel let his senses reach out, listening to the pulsing energy behind him as a plan formed in his mind.

"Let's see if you can handle someone with actual skill…" Steel smirked as he snapped his fingers, his aura appearing all over the messed environment. Grasping trees, stones, an odd bit of metal, even some of the fallen buildings on the edge of the jungle.

Infinite seemed to shudder at the idea of a challenge as cubes rose up behind him," Come at me then, child~ I look forward to your imminent defea-" With a rush of speed, several large rocks, trees, and a literal half of a building slammed into the jackal. Steel staring coolly as his long ivory quills swayed softly in his own energy, the greenish glow hooding over his eyes like an ominous phantom waiting to lunge and possess. "You talk too much," the ambers rolled as he flicked his head to the side, his long bangs swaying before he scoffed.

With a snap of his fingers, a dome of red energy appeared over the fallen two, his energy flaring again as he felt something shift under the rubble," Okay, beat this guy and figure out a way to get Sanc and Boss free from...whatever they're stuck in." Steel muttered under his breath, narrowing his gaze coldly.

"Easy enough…"

He looked behind him," Just hang tight guys! When I'm finished here, I'll get you guys out! S-somehow-"

"YOU INSOLENT LITTLE-" A large rock slammed down on top of the jackal as he attempted to burst free from his cocoon of rubble. The albino teen sighing softly as he clicked his teeth," I'll figure something out."

Casually, the amber gaze focused on the rubble, sighing as he felt the energy build up underneath his own,"...Yeah I can figure something out. It just might be...a bit."

With a flare of red energy, Steel smirked coldly as Infinite appeared in front of him with a flicker of cubes.

Howling a distorted rage as Steel casually shot his energy into the body; smirking as it collapsed into a sparking mess of cubes. "Starting with figuring out how to know what's an illusion and what's not."
