1940, Paris. The Wehrmacht were striking down hard on the city. Two resistance fighters were fleeing from them. One of them, a woman, stopped her male companion. "Wait! We have to fight, Fu! Let's use the Miraculous: I'll take the Ladybug and you take the Black Cat!"

"But what if we fail? They'll get hold of this box and it will mean the end of the world! Come with me; we'll be safe in England." Fu reached for her, but instead she shook her head. "Marianne?"

"Go. Leave without me — I'd rather stay and resist, even without the Miraculous!"

Fu understood. He took out a button with the Chinese ideogram 爱, meaning love, from his tie and fastened it to Marianne's blouse; he then placed his hands on her upper arms and said, "I'll come back for this...and you!"

"I'll be waiting for you, right here, every day!"

"Marianne, I've never told you this, but I—"

Marianne put a finger on his lips and whispered, "Shh. Tell me when you come back!"

Suddenly, a hail of bullets almost hit them. A voice shouted, "Da drüben! Fang sie!"

"Go! NOW!" The two lovers separated with Schutzstaffel officers chasing after them.

"Komm schon! Schneller! Die Kiste! Wir müssen die Wunderkiste bekommen!"

Let's go back to the present to when Kellaway arrived at the bakery.

"M-My daughter?"

"Marinette, did you do something wrong?"

"No, no!" Marinette insisted to her parents.

"It's alright," insisted Kellaway. "I just want to ask your daughter some questions. It won't take long. I'd like to speak to her in private if you don't mind."

"Now wait a minute," Sabine snapped. "We have just as much a right to know what is going on in our own house, Lieutenant!"

"It's alright, Mom," said Marinette. She turned to Kellaway. "I'll take you to my room. It's the most private spot in the house."

Kellaway sat on a chair and waited as Marinette pulled up a stool. He looked at the pictures of Adrien on the wall. "Stalker much?"

"I am no stalker! I like Adrien!"

"It's fine. What you do in private is none of my business." Kellaway took out a cigarette and lit it. Marinette's nose flared at the stink of tobacco. "Let's cut to the chase, Marinette. You haven't been keeping your promise since the last time we met."

"'Last time'? Lieutenant, this is the first time we met."

Kellaway exhaled. "Guess there's no beating around the bush. I know who you are, Ladybug."

Marinette's eyes widened. Then she let out a laugh. "Me, Ladybug? That's preposterous!"

What the leiutenant said next froze her heart. "I've been following you for some time, Miss Dupain-Cheng. I'm not stupid." There was a moment's silence. Then he said, "Besides, it wasn't exactly hard to figure you out. Here's a little tip: don't have your hairstyle the same as your secret identity's. Let your hair down, perhaps."

"You have to go."

"Miss Dupain-Cheng..."

"GET OUT! GET OUT AND DON'T COME BACK!" She grabbed a perfume bottle and sprayed him in the face like it was pepper spray.

"AUGH! My nose!" She grabbed the stool and swung it at him. "Wait! Aren't you going to hear me out?!"

"No! You can't know about this! No one can know!"

"It's about Big-Head!" Marinette stopped. "Look. I just want to know. Do you know Big-Head personally?"

Marinette lowered the stool. "No. I think I told you that the last time we met." She sat down on the stool. "Why do you think I know about who has that accursed Mask when I clearly don't?"

"Don't get me wrong, but I assumed you knew since Big-Head always seems to be around whenever a villain attacks."

"I told you. Chat Noir and I are not allowed to figure out each other's identities."

"And Big-Head? Do the same rules apply to him?"

"Honestly, I don't know." Marinette paused to scratch her nose.

"Then you haven't noticed any of your classmates acting strange?"

Marinette thought it over. "Truth be told, there was one suspect, a boy named Rudi. He has these violent mood swings and he has a bit of a very naughty side to him. But I ruled him out as a suspect when Big-Head kidnapped him."

Kellaway wrote something in a notepad. "I see. Think you can lead me to him?"

"I'll write you his address." Marinette sighed. "Listen, Lieutenant. You can't know about Ladybug's true identity. If Hawk Moth akumatizes you, you'll tell him right away. You've put yourself and others in danger."

Kellaway puffed his cigarette. "Wouldn't be the first time that happened. And I've been able to resist the Mask's magic, I can surely resist this butterfly pansy." She didn't look so sure about that. "What happens now? You gonna neuralize me?" Marinette gave him a weird look. "You know, the mind wiper from Men In Black?"

"Yeah...I don't know about that."

"You're missing out. I like Will Smith. Not so much as Tommy Lee Jones. So..." He paused to snuff out his cigarette. "What's going to happen to me?"

Marinette thought it over. This never happened before. This WASN'T supposed to happen. She didn't know what to do. Then she said, "I have to make a call. Go back to your loft and I'll tell you."

"Okay. Thank you for your time, Miss Dupain-Cheng."

"Wait. Before you go, do you know who Chat Noir's secret identity is?" She was met with silence. "I see."

After the lieutenant thanked the Dupain-Chengs for their time and left, Tikki was freaking out. "No, no, no, no! Marinette! Why did you let him go?! If he gets akumatized, Hawk Moth will know everything!"

"I know! That's why I have to call Master Fu!" She picked up her phone and was about to make the call when she saw a news update that made her completely forget about her talk with Kellaway. "WHAT?! Adrien and Kagami are going to the Royal Wedding?! I gotta call the girls!"

"Marinette! What about telling Master Fu about Kellaway?"

"Later! This is important!" Before she could dial her phone, Tikki snatched the phone and flew up to the ceiling. "Tikki! Give that back! This is important!"

"No! This is more important than Adrien! You let someone who knows the secret of Ladybug and Chat Noir's identities go!"

"But...I...Adrien..." Marinette fell to the ground and banged her fists. She panted heavily. "Fine. I'll tell him." She took the phone...then ran into the bathroom and locked it behind her. "Right after I call my friends!" She dialed down a number. "Hello? Alya! I need you and the girls to get over here! Yes, I know it's Friday! Fine! Tomorrow, then!"

"Marinette! Ugh, why do I bother?"

The girls weren't too happy to have to come over to Marinette's room on a day when they should be sleeping in. Indeed, their hairs were messy, their eyes were droopy and they were constantly yawning. So much for peace. Marinette raved, "Girls! We have a very serious situation! Adrien and his father have been invited to the Royal Wedding in England this weekend."

Alya yawned. "That's the 'emergency' you called us over here for on a Saturday morning?"

"You don't get it! Kagami and her mother are going too! Which means that Adrien and Kagami will be spending an entire weekend together!"

Alix asked, annoyed and sleep-deprived, "So? What's the big deal?"

"The 'big deal' is what if Adrien is blown away by her awesome dress and hairstyle? And if they dance together at the reception? And what if they tour the city on a romantic horse and buggy ride? It would be the end of the world! They're taking the Startrain to London at 11:00 AM; that's in less than two hours! We've gotta do something, fast!"

Mylene, half asleep and not really paying attention, made a suggestion. "We could... organize a demonstration and make the trains go on strike."

"Nah, they'd just take a helicopter or private jet," pointed out Alya.

Rose raised her hand enthusiastically. "I know! We'll dress you up as British megastar Adeline so you can slip into Buckingham Palace. You'll lure Adrien away from Kagami at the reception and waltz with him in the grand ballroom and—"

"Then when Adrien finds out you're not who he thought you were, he'll be totally disappointed because he hates lying; he'll fall head-over-heels in love with Kagami, given that she never lies, and you'll get locked away in the Tower of London." Alya didn't mean that last part, but the idea was enough to scare Marinette.

"Why don't you just kidnap Kagami? That's cool," Juleka suggested. She didn't really mean it, but it did make everyone gasp in horror.

"That would be bad!"

"No way we could do that, Juleka!"

"Mm-mm!"

"We couldn't!"

Alya was frustrated and exhausted. She got straight to the point as she told Marinette, "Listen, Marinette, the best thing to do is just spill your guts to Adrien once and for all before he takes off for London!"

Marinette's heart raced. "Couldn't we try Juleka's idea instead?" Everyone shook their heads. "But I just can't do that! I can't talk to him without stumbling all over my words. I've been trying for months and—" Her crazy train of thought stopped when she saw a familiar green fairy resembling a turtle waving to her outside the window. "...and you're right!" She nervously giggled and started dragging the girls out of her room as they gasped in surprise. "It's about time things change. I'll find the courage somehow; thanks girls!"

"You sure you'll be okay?" Alya asked.

"Yeah, sure! I'll let you know what happens... Bye girls!" She slammed the trap door on them before she let Wayzz in. "It's good to see you again!"

"Marinette! You must come with me; Master Fu needs you," he said urgently.

Tikki popped out of her hiding place and asked, "What's wrong?"

"Just hurry!" he said before he flew out.

"Do you think it's serious," Marinette asked TIkki.

"Master Fu wouldn't send Wayzz if it wasn't!"

"You mean like the time when he lost his keys and locked himself out of the house," Marinette asked sarcastically.

"It's about time Fu learned how to write and send texts!"

That made a lightbulb go off in the girl's head. "Write! Thank you, Tikki! That's the answer!"

Later, Marinette ran to the subway and hopped on board the train. She took her seat and got out a pen and paper from her purse. "I'm gonna write Adrien a letter, and give it to him on the train platform just before he leaves. At least then I won't mess up anything when I open my mouth!"

She wrote down, "'Dearest you, when you love someone you must never hold back from telling them when you have the chance, because one day you might realize that it's too late and that all your hopes and dreams are ruined, with no way to go back in time and do it over. I want to tell it to you today, before you leave, so you can take my words with you. I'm hoping they'll make their way to your heart, and that, when you come back, you'll give me a chance to prove how true these words really are. I... love you.'"

Unfortunately, two boys overheard her and laughed at her. Their mother grabbed them by the ears. "That's enough! It's not nice to make fun of poets."

Marinette blushed in embarrassment. She looked down at her poem. "Maybe this isn't such a good idea after all."

By the time she arrived at the massage parlor, a doctor was already there, checking on the old man. "Doctor, is Master— I mean— grandpa okay?"

The doctor made a smile that told her he was fine. "Of course he is. You know what men are like: one little hiccup and they think they're dying."

Master Fu let out an overdramatic, "I'M DYYYYYYIIIIIIINNNNNGG!" And then farted.

The doctor handed Marinette a perscription. "Here you go; fetch this from the pharmacy and he'll be back on his feet in no time. And don't forget to eat more veggies, Mr. Chan. You need fiber, for guts' sake," he called over his shoulder as he left.

Marinette raised an eyebrow at Master Fu as he helped himself up. "Mister Chan? That's what you call yourself?"

"You can never be too careful..." he said as he sat on a chair. He then said seriously, "Marinette, if anything happens to me, I want you to take care of the Miracle Box — you'll be the new guardian and—"

"Oh, come on, Master Fu, you're overreacting; it's just a little bellyache, that's all!"

"I'm 186-years-old, remember? The doctor doesn't know that."

"You're going to be fine! I'll go and fetch your medication then..."

"Wait!" Master Fu stopped her before she could leave. "That's not why I called you here." He reached into his pocket and handed her an envelope. "Go to the address written here down on the river banks at 11:00 am. You'll see a woman there wearing a pretty brooch shaped like a Chinese ideogram. This one to be precise." He showed Marinette the 愛 symbol. "Give her this letter."

"Who is she, Master?"

"Someone I've always loved, but have never seized the moment to tell..." He suddenly blushed and turned away.

Marinette knew what that meant and she beamed with awe. "Master, you've got a sweetheart! But... why today?"

"Because I'm just realizing that I've waited way too long. I don't know how much time I have left, but I don't want to waste another moment."

She nodded and stood from her seat with determination. "You're so right! If you don't do it now, you'll probably never do it; I'm gonna do what I need to do today, too!" She placed the envelope in her purse.

"Thank you," the old man said feebly.

Before Marinette left, Wayzz called out to her, "Bring the medication back fast! I don't care what the doctor said, I don't have a good feeling about this."

Marinette reassured the little kwami, "You can count on me, Wayzz!" But the moment she walked out of the massage parlor, she realized something. "Wait! Adrien's train leaves at..." She checked her phone. "Oh no! That's in 20 minutes!"

"The meds, Master Fu's letter, Adrien's letter— you won't have enough time to do everything, Marinette!"

The girl smirked at the little kwami. " I won't have time, but we might... Tikki, SPOTS ON!" Tikki was absorbed into the earrings and in a flash of red and black, Marinette turned into Ladybug. After finishing her transformation, she swung off on her yo-yo.

At the Gare du Nord train station, Ladybug hid behind a corner and turned back into Marinette. She spotted Adrien and his father about to enter the Startrain with the Tsurugis. "WAIT! Adrien!"

He was surprised to see her. "Marinette?"

The girl took a while to catch her breath and handed him the letter. "Here! Read this in the drain—er—on the train! I've never told you kiss—this, but what I want more than anything else in the world is written on this piece of paper and...only you can give it to me." Adrien raised an eyebrow. Blushing, Marinette turned tail. She bumped into someone without realizing it. "Sorry! Medical emergency!"

Adrien looked down at the letter, then put it in his pocket before walking into the train.

Marinette returned to her hiding spot and did a little cheer. "I did it! I gave him the letter; I actually did it, after all this time! Why did I wait so long? It was so easy!"

"I'm so proud of you, Marinette! You were right to take the plunge," said Tikki.

"All right! Time for the next one." She changed back into Ladybug and swung off to find Master Fu's secret admirer.

Meanwhile, back on the Startrain, Mrs. Tsurugi noticed Gabriel feeling nervous. She could tell from the sound of him drumming his fingers on his knee. "I'm feeling a sense of uneasiness in you, Gabriel-san!"

"I think I just don't like being away from home, that's all."

"He who hopes, gives himself the opportunity to obtain what he desires. But he who fears, always ends up with the very thing he dreads."

"I shall remember that, Tsurugi-san!"

Adrien sat in his seat in front of Kagami. He took out Marinette's letter and what he read made his eyebrows raise.

At a bench near the Eiffel Tower, Mr. Ramier fed his pigeons when he felt a presence next to him. He turned to see a woman as old as his mother. She wore a yellow buttoned collar shirt with a tan trench coat, a yellow skirt, yellow earrings. yellow dress shoes and a brooch with a Chinese character on it, 愛. "Hello again, Mr. Ramier," she greeted him.

"How are you today, Ms. Lenoir?"

"Today's the day! I know he's coming... I can feel it!"

"He really is a very lucky man; he doesn't deserve you."

Mis. Lenoir smiled. Then she began to sing to herself.

"We'll meet again
Don't know where, don't know when
But I know we'll meet again
Some sunny day

"Keep smiling through
Just like you always do
'Till the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away

"So will you please say hello
To the folks that I know
Tell them I won't be long
They'll be happy to know
That as you saw me go
I was singing this song

"We'll meet again
Don't know where, don't know when
But I know we'll meet again
Some sunny day"

Ladybug appeared; she recognized Ms. Lenoir's brooch, took the letter from her yo-yo and approached her. "Hello, ma'am!"

"Hello, Ladybug!" Mr. Ramier greeted her.

Ladybug handed Ms. Lenoir the envelope. "Uh... yeah—I have a letter for you; the mailman asked me to give it to you because there was something wrong with hi—"

The old woman made a knowing smile. "I know perfectly well who sent you, young lady!"

Ladybug did not expect to hear that. "Oh!"

"Go now... the less we talk, the safer your secret will be... but thank you, Ladybug. I've been waiting for this moment for a very long time!"

"You're welcome, ma'am! It was very nice meeting you."

Ladybug turned back into Marinette and rushed into the pharmacy's doors. "Morning, ma'am," she said to the pharmacist. She handed her the prescription. "Here. It's urgent."

But when the pharmacist read the letter, she blushed and chuckled. "Uh... look... thank you for this very moving heartfelt declaration, but I'm already taken, and my name's not Marianne."

Marinette gasped in horror. She mixed up the letters! "So if you have Master Fu's letter, who's got the prescription?" Then a terrible thought crossed her mind. What did she just give to the old lady?

Ms. Lenoir opened the envelope and read the letter. "'When you love someone, you must never hold back from telling them when you have the chance, because one day you might realize that it's too late and that all your hopes and dreams are ruined, with no way to go back in time and do it over...'" She didn't want to read it any more. "'Too late...? Hopes and dreams ruined...?' This means he doesn't love me anymore. That it's too late for the two of us...?"

Mr. Ramier put a sympathetic hand on her shoulder. "We promised each other... All this pain, all these year of waiting... for nothing."

On the Startrain, Gabriel felt it resonating in his brooch. Overwhelming sadness and betrayal. He immediately stood up and walked to the train's conductor who was making his announcement. "We are about to depart; stand clear—"

"You! This train will not depart until I say it can!"

The conductor didn't like having his authority challenged. "Who do you think you are?"

Gabriel grabbed him by the collar and got in his face. "I am Gabriel Agreste! And I'm not feeling well, and until I'm feeling better nobody goes anywhere; is that clear?"

The conductor gulped and nodded. "Y-Yes, Mr. Agreste." Gabriel marched into the bathroom as the conductor announced, "Ladies and gentlemen, we have a sick passenger on board; our departure will therefore be slightly delayed until further notice." Everyone on board groaned and complained.

Now that he had a place of privacy, Gabriel let out his kwami. "We've got work to do. Nooroo, DARK WINGS RISE!" Nooroo was sucked into the brooch and in a flash of purple, Gabriel transformed into Hawk Moth. "I can feel... a whole lifetime of hope... The hope of being reunited with one's true love, only to find out that the waiting has been in vain!" A purple butterfly popped out of his cane and flew out the window. "Fly away, my little akuma, and evilize her!"

Ms. Lenoir was still grieving and paid no attention to the akuma flying toward her. Then it absorbed itself into her brooch. Her face went blank as a baritone voice spoke in her mind, "Backwarder, I am Hawk Moth. I'm granting you the power to make up for lost time by stealing it from others! All I ask for in return is Ladybug and Chat Noir's Miraculous and Big-Head's Mask of Loki!"

She smirked as purple smoke enveloped her. "Thank you for giving me a second chance, Hawk Moth!" The transformation was complete and she now wore gold and black armor with a clock face on the chest plate and a helmet shaped like a clock's wind-up key. In her right hand she carried a sword shaped like tuning fork.

Mr. Ramier gasped and backed away a little. "M-Ms. Lenoir?"

Backwarder tapped him with the tuning fork and all of a sudden, he started speaking and walking in reverse. "No more time to waste!"

In his room, Rudi was watching TV when he heard something strange outside. He looked out the window and saw something bizarre: people, cars and animals moving backwards. "Now that is strange." He reached under his bed and pulled out the Mask. "Time flies when you're having fun. Well, this could take a while. IT'S SHOW TIME!" He slapped it onto his face and in a flash of green, transformed into Big-Head.

Back on the Startrain, Adrien waited anxiously for his father. Suddenly, he heard his phone beep. He checked it and saw a news update on his phone. A villain was making everything go in reverse! He rushed to the bathroom and knocked on its door.

"Occupied!" his father's voice rang out.

Thinking quick, Adrien took the other bathroom and locked the door. He let Plagg out of his pocket. "Gotta go, huh?"

"In more ways than one," said Adrien. "Plagg, CLAWS OUT!" Plagg was sucked into the ring and in a flash of black, Adrien was turned into Chat Noir.

Ladybug arrived just in time to see Backwarder make the Roue de Paris spin wildly in reverse. Then her eyes focused on the villain's brooch placed just above the clock face. "Oh no! I've seen that brooch before! If my love letter caused this kind of reaction it's probably a good thing Adrien didn't read it!"

Backwarder continued to send more people and cars in reverse. One unfortunate woman pushing a stroller walked backwards just as a car was heading for her. Ladybug grabbed her and set her down at the park. " Here! You'll be safe here in the meantime."

The woman still continued to walk backward as Chat Noir arrived, almost bumping into him. He moonwalked backwards up to Ladybug and asked, "M'Lady, okay you are?" Ladybug frowned at him. "Are you okay, M'Lady?"

"Not funny! They've been hit by a super-villain!"

"Uh, yeah I saw that; looks like she's making them go back in time!"

"Don't worry," a voice called out. The duo turned to see Big-Head, holding a man running backwards. "I've been taking care of that!" He pulled a wind-up key out of his pocket, stuck it in the man's back and turned it a few times. The man started moving forward, but in a stiff way like a wind-up toy. "See?"

"Well, that's a start, but we gotta take care of the main problem," said Ladybug. The three of them started running toward Backwarder as she explained, "I won't bore you with the details, but I'm sure the akumatized object is the brooch with the Chinese ideogram she's wearing."

"I trust you."

The trio found Backwarder forcing more people to move in reverse. Ladybug wrapped her yo-yo around her wrist and shouted, "Not so fast!"

Backwarder let out a grunt of frustration. "There you are again, you ghastly bug! Once I've touched you, all I have to do is wait for you to transform back!"

"Then you can give me her Miraculous!"

Backwarder shook her head at Hawk Moth's command. "Not right now; first I'll follow her so that she can lead me back to the man who gave her those earrings."

Oh, did that really pique Hawk Moth's interest. "What? You know the Guardian of the Miraculous? You must take me to him!"

"Fu? Of course! He's the one who broke my heart. He's been hiding under a false name for a long time, but now thanks to you, Hawk Moth, I'm going to find him again at last and make up for all that lost time."

"What a delightful twist of fate!"

Ladybug heard everything. "Chat Noir! I was at Master Fu's earlier! We can't let her touch me otherwise she'll lead Hawk Moth straight to the Guardian! And the Miracle Box!"

Suddenly, the string holding Backwarder's arm loosened. No. It had been cut by a pair of scissors held by Big-Head. The smile he made did not give Ladybug and Chat Noir comfort. "So his name is Fu?" He turned to Backwarder. "Tell me more about this Miracle Box, lady."

Ladybug gasped. "Big-Head, what are you doing?!"

"Whatever I feel like."

Wait, what am I saying?! I'm not supposed to affiliate with bad guys!

"Shush. What do you say?"

"I say...why would I do that when I can take the Mask right off your face?!" Backwarder lunged at him with the tuning fork, but he quickly dodged it and kicked her in the chest.

Big-Head slapped himself in the head. "What are you thinking?! Why would I want to side with the enemy?!" He grinned and said, "Aren't you a little curious? No! I just want to get the akuma so I can go back to watch TV!"

Chat Noir blinked at the bizarre sight. "Is he...having an argument with himself?"

"No, it's the Mask," Ladybug realized. "It's making him say those things!"

"Don't turn your back on your opponent!" Backwarder shouted, posed to strike her with the tuning fork. But before it could touch her, a bullet blasted her in the hand, making her drop it and she grabbed her hand as it started to bleed.

Lieutenant Kellaway kept the gun positioned at the villain. "Step away from the ladybird beetle!"

Big-Head was taken aback by his appearance. Then he said in a low voice, "You."

Wait. Why did I say that? I don't know that guy!

"Lieutenant!" exclaimed Ladybug and Chat Noir.

"You shouldn't be here," Chat Noir said. "You'll get in the way!"

"It's alright," the lieutenant said. "I don't think she's going anywhere."

"That's not the point!"

Backwarder snarled at Kellaway as black smoke enveloped her. "You should not have interfered, meddler!" When the smoke disappeared, Backwarder revealed her Megakuma form. She now resembled a grandfather clock with her face and spindly arms and legs on the sides. "Now you're on my time, you little brats! Give me the Miraculous!" She slammed the ground again, sending forth an energy wave. The Miracle heroes, Big-Head and Kellaway jumped over it just before it hit them.

Everything around them began to go backwards, vehicles, animals, people, even the clouds in the sky. Ladybug realized, "She's going to make everything on Earth go backward!"

Kellaway pointed his gun at the giant clock woman and fired his gun. Backwarder saw the bullets and commanded, "Return to sender!" The lieutenant's eyes widened when he saw them flying straight for him. Fortunately, Chat Noir managed to block them with his staff.

"She can reverse time without that tuning fork now," he shouted. "Lieutenant, you better run!"

Kellaway nodded, knowing he was way over his head. He turned to Ladybug. "Meet me after this fiasco is over, Ladybird Beetle!"

"OI!" Big-Head punched Kellaway in the stomach and sent him flying across the rooftops. "Only I call her that!"

"Big-Head! He meant well," Ladybug shouted.

"Yeah, and look where that got us. Someone got Megakumatized and for once, it's not my fault!"

Ladybug exhaled. "I just want to get this over with. LUCKY CHARM!" She twirled her yo-yo in the air and its magic created... a mouse trap. The glue kind.

"Well, I wouldn't mind using this trap," said Chat Noir. "But how do we use it?"

Ladybug formulated a plan in her head. "Okay. Big-Head, stand over here." She drew an X in the ground and placed the green-headed loon on it. "Chat Noir, I want you to leap over him backwards and say 'Cataclysm!' in reverse."

"Uh... Msylca... ms-msylca... Msylcatac!"

"Perfect! Now, Big-Head, when he leaps over you, throw the mouse trap at Backwarder's feet, then toss Chat Noir at her."

"Not sure where it's going, but...okay."

Backwarder finally caught up with the heroes and pointed the tuning fork at them. "Come on! You're merely delaying the inevitable."

Ladybug whispered in Chat Noir's ear, "Sorry."

"Sorry for what?"

Ladybug pushed him into the tuning fork. He suddenly started moving backward. Backwarder took one step forward. "Now, Big-Head!" He nodded and threw the mouse trap at the clock lady's sole. As she struggled to get it off, Chat Noir shouted, "Cataclysm!" On cue, Big-Head tossed him at her chest, causing the boy to break the brooch and release the akuma.

"No more evil-doing for you, little akuma. Time to de-evilize!" She captured it and purified it before she released it. "Gotcha! Bye bye, little butterfly!" Then she tossed the mouse trap up in the air and exploded into a wave of red and black waves that undid all the damage and turned Backwarder back into Ms. Lenoir.

"Pound it!" Ladybug and Chat Noir fist bumped.

"Well at least I think so, 'cause to be honest, I still don't understand what all that was about," the black cat said.

Ladybug helped Ms. Lenoir up. "That's because we girls are mysterious that way."

"Well, that's all fine and dandy, but let's skip to the good bit," said Big-Head as he approached the old woman. "Tell me more about this Miracle Box."

Ladybug stood between them. "You're not getting any answers out of her, creep!"

"I don't think you have enough time for this," he said, pointing to the blinking earrings.

"No, but I do!" Chat Noir swung his staff like a croquet mallet and sent the cartoon psycho flying across the rooftops. His ring started to blink. "Oh, oops! Sorry, but I'd better scat! Superfast."

"What's the rush?" asked Ladybug.

"It's a secret; you see, we cats are mysterious too," Chat Noir said with a wink before he left.

Ms. Lenoir asked Ladybug, "What happened to me?"

The ladybird beetle hero gave her the right letter. "I gave you the wrong letter earlier, I hope you'll forgive me. I can't do anything to change the past, but, I hope this letter will change your future."

Ms. Lenoir smiled as she watched her go.

Hawk Moth smirked as he monologued, "Don't believe for one second that you've won, Ladybug! I've acquired more information that will enable me to track the Guardian down. And even though no one in Paris goes by the name of Master Fu, I will find where he's hiding. Soon I'll be able to have him decipher the spellbook for me and maybe, who knows, even get my hands on every Miraculous known on Earth and the Mask of Loki!"

At that moment, both Adrien and Gabriel left their respective bathrooms and met with each other simultaneously. "You seem to be feeling a lot better, Father."

"Oh yes, I am."

The train conductor sighed in relief. Finally, the StarTrain can get on rolling.

Master Fu was escorted by Marinette to the spot Ms. Lenoir was sitting at. Her usual spot next to Mr. Ramier. The old woman smiled when she saw her old spark. "Marianne, I—"

"Fu, I—"

The two of them chuckled. Then Master Fu said sadly, "Marianne, I'm sorry I took so long to come here. I always felt as long as I was in charge of the Miracle Box, I'd be a danger to anyone I'm close to... but that's all in the past now."

"I know you always wanted to do what's best. I know what a responsibility it is being the Guardian of the Miraculous. Unfortunately, Hawk Moth now knows that I know you."

"Yes, he could hurt you to get to me."

"We can't be together again until he's been defeated."

"I have full trust in the ones I have chosen." Fu held her close. "They will succeed."

Ms. Lenoir's smile was replaced with a sad frown. "Now it's my turn to go and hide, my sweet darling Fu."

"Marianne, I've never told you this but I... I..." Ms. Lenoir put a finger on his lips.

"Shh. Save it for when I get back."

A single tear fell from Master Fu's left eye.

Marinette and Tikki watched the scene from nearby. "Why doesn't he just tell her?"

Marinette responded to the little kwami, "Because it's probably not the right time yet."

"How about you? When will it be the right time for you?"

"I'll tell you if I'm still alive after seeing Adrien again tomorrow morning."

The next morning, Marinette met up with the other girls at school. "So? How did it go?" Rose asked.

"Did you tell him?" Mylene asked.

"Yeah... I mean— kind of. Basically, I gave him a letter..." The girls cheered with excitement before she could finish her sentence.

"Tell us exactly what you wrote in the letter!"

"Oh, not much; it's not really important, is it?"

Alya was confused as to why she said that. "What? How can you say that, girl?"

"Hey, Marinette!" Adrien called out. He was carrying a white paper bag with a green cross on it. "I was very surprised when I read your letter, but since it seemed to be so important, I spent the whole weekend walking around London looking for it...for you." Marinette's eyes bugged out. Now she knew what happened to Master Fu's prescription.

"Thank you..." she said, red in the face.

"I'm glad I could help."

Marinette collapsed to her knees and buried her face in her hands. "This is a disaster!"

Alya helped her up and picked up the bag. "Disaster? He had you on his mind all weekend; he even brought back a gift for you!" The girls all agreed and asked her to open it.

"No, we're good." Marinette shifted the bag out of the girls' reach as they tried to take it. "Trust me, you really don't need to open it."

With a mischievous grin, Alix snatched the bag out of Marinette's hands and opened it. Inside it was not candy or chocolates. "Are these...constipation pills?"

Marinette was speechless.

Rose put an arm around her shoulder. "What a beautiful display of pure love!"

Rudi stared at the TV with a dark frown. He did his best to ignore the Mask.

She told him to come. Alya told the lieutenant to come! There's no other way he'd be here.

"Shut up. He probably saw news footage of me and came right away."

Why didn't he show up right away then?! She cannot be trusted!

"You know what? After that behavior back at the park..." Rudi put the Mask under the floorboard. "...you're getting a time out."

WHAT?! Come on! Aren't you a little curious about the Miracle Box?

"I don't know what you're talking about and frankly, I don't care! I just wanna do what I normally do. Kick butt with Ladybug and Chat Noir and one day, serve Hawk Moth's head on a platter!"

But, even Rudi had doubts about Alya's loyalty. Did she really tell Kellaway to come to Paris? His eyes flashed green.
