Haunter barely started sending out a Night Shade before it got smacked in the face with a body slam from 187 pounds of feathers and bone. The ghost reeled back and rubbed its head.

The audience gasped aloud. Delia's smile grew as the audience stared in shock and awe. Ray cheered at the top of his lungs. Blue leaned forward in his chair.

Dodrio towered over the paralyzed pokemon, its three heads rearing up to attack again.

The leading head squawked at the others, and they charged forward onto the warpath, their beaks spinning into drills. Before the three heads could send the final blow, Haunter's eyes started spinning. Delia noticed them stopping their attack and stumbling forward.

"Why would they be stopping their attack- oh..."

She froze before she could finish her sentence and swore under her breath. Why in the world did she let Dodrio get that close?

Dodrio collapsed into a deep sleep, and Haunter feasted on three dreams at once.

This outcome can't be happening again. Delia shivered on the field as her palms moistened with sweat.

Dodrio woke up before Haunter could eat another dream, but it struggled to stay on its feet. It was only a matter of time before Haunter would strike it down too. Dodrio needed to try one last move before being struck down.

"Dodrio, DRILL PECK! LET'S GO!"

At their master's command, Dodrio rushed forward, all beaks spinning and ready to make one last offensive. Haunter tried to evade after being so close, slipping through two of the heads but couldn't escape the third. It collided with the drill peck attack and spun away onto the ground, its skin barely translucent.

"We did it." Delia stumbled onto her knees, watching her three-headed pokemon crow in triumph. We beat the Haunter. Two down.

Agatha recalled Haunter and, without a second to think, launched another ball into the field. It cracked open, and out poured slimy white energy that turned purple and scaly. It reared its cobra-like head and stuck out a bright-pink tongue. Dodrio braced itself as the Arbok unfurled its hood and began to sway. Agatha's eyes narrowed, and Delia stood back up.

Her weakened Dodrio faced Agatha's Arbok, and time stood still for a moment.
