Episode 85: How This Goes

I reread through this series, my favorite after Code Naia, and just love it. The ending especially. I usually/always wrote a happy ending except for this one. Yes Xana was defeated but there was no more Aelita, Bosh, Sanne/Maya, Odd and Ulrich hated each other, Yumi was in Japan again, so different. The ending happened as it did, this is just a spin off not a continuation of that series. Well, here it is... I am writing this on the fly, no real plans like I normally do. If some thing changes then uh, blame it on the time loop/distortion.

Kadic Academy

Odd, Ulrich, and Jeremie are unsure of what to do. After all the memories... "Ash knows more than we do. She, she has memories from when she was on Earth before. Before, something." Jeremie fought back the nightmares every night of what he saw. "But I feel something is wrong. She, she is an AI. Not a human trapped but I don't know how to prove it."

"Scan her and look at the data?" Both turn to Odd. "What? Like, look at ours, and hers. See what is different." Odd taps his head. "I swear my memories made me smarter."

Jeremie smiles. "Yes, yes! Perfect. But what if she's different because she's a girl and we're not? We need to scan a girl too."

Ulrich fights back the memory of Yumi. Hurt, bloody, physically weak. But looking stronger than ever as she stood up to Xana's attack. "Who? I mean, this is kind of big. We can't trust just anyone."

Odd holds up a hand and starts counting his fingers. "Not Dana, or Sissi, or Emily, or Samantha, or Megan, or Lilly, or,"

Jeremie interrupts him. "Milly! I, yes. I can trust her."

"Milly? Oh, year below us. Always with Tamiya. Speaking of, I better not be the one to ask Tamiya since, well," Odd makes some motions with his hands.

"I said Milly, not Tamiya."

Odd laughs. "They are a package deal. You should know that. Those two are almost inseparable. It kind of led to some... Well, I'm not sure I should say it."

Both Ulrich and Jeremie glare at Odd. "What?"

"I'll call Milly. I still have her number on my phone." Jeremie gets his phone out of his pocket.

"Wait," Ulrich grabs his wrist. "What about Ash?"

Jeremie pauses, looking at his phone. "She is just a friend."

"Which one?"

Jeremie doesn't answer as he calls Milly. "Hey, uh, can you keep a secret?"

Sewers

Milly, and Tamiya, are led by Jeremie and the others while blind folded. "Milly, are you sure we can trust them?"

Milly can't hide the excitement in her voice. "Of course. Jeremie would never hurt me."

"If you say so."

"I do." This is going to be a super scoop! I know I told Jeremie I'd keep a secret but this could be a big enough story I could get in a real newspaper or station! "Just make sure Odd stays away."

"Hey! I went on like, three dates with Tamiya but she always wanted me to get a friend for you. I said I didn't have any but didn't mind dating both."

"Pig."

Ulrich and Jeremie laugh as Milly and Tamiya say it at the same time.

Factory

The blindfolds are taken off as the group reaches the end of the path to the Factory. "Whoa, a warehouse?" Milly looks around. "What's the big deal?"

"Follow us." Odd jumps and swings down to the Factory floor.

Walking over to the elevator, Milly and Tamiya look around as much as possible. "I have no idea what is going on, Milly."

"Neither do I but I trust Jeremie." We are going to see something major I'm sure of it.

The elevator goes down to the Control Room and opens. "Welcome, ladies, to the control room."

Milly and Tamiya see the big screen in the middle. "What is this, Jeremie?"

"Something amazing." Jeremie turns to the monitor. "Ash?"

She appears in a screen. "Jeremie? Oh, more friends! Hello, new friends. I am Ash, you are?"

Milly looks up at the girl in the screen. One emerald green eye, one sapphire blue. The most unique hair of pink with blue streaks. Her face, feminine but strong. "I'm Milly. This is my friend, Tamiya."

Ash looks over at her. "Hello Tamiya. Are you coming here or am I coming to Earth?"

"Both." Jeremie sits down at the computer. "Ulrich, could you lead Milly and Tamiya to the scanners? I'll send them there as soon as they're in."

"Scanners?"

Milly is still staring at Ash and ignores Tamiya. Did she say come to Earth? Is she an alien? Did Jeremie find an alien! Holy shit this is even bigger than I thought. "Are you teleporting us to an alien ship?"

"What? No, aliens aren't real. Just go down the elevator to the next room." Jeremie's fingers fly over the keyboard. "Left and right scanner. Have Ulrich go in the center one."

"What about me? I'll go."

"No, Odd. Stay here."

Milly and Tamiya follow Ulrich on the elevator and take it down to the Scanner Room.

Lyoko

As they land, Ash leaves the Tower and sees them. "Hello! It is nice to meet you two." She smiles and waves. "Welcome to my home."

Milly runs over to her. "Wow, you, this, I can't believe it!" Milly looks down at herself. "Whoa, what is all of this?"

She is in a light blue leotard with a cape. Knee high boots the same color as the cape and leotard cover her feet. "I'm a super hero!"

"Yeah! Like that girl from, uh, the tians, right?"

Milly turns around and sees Tamiya. "Whoa! You're, uh, a cat?"

Tamiya does a couple punches. "I ain't the lady to mess with!"

Ulrich looks at both. "Yes, well, welcome to Lyoko. Where the physics aren't real and powers seem hard to figure out."

He had only figured out his powers after the fourth attack. A deflective shield that holds up against a few lasers before shattering. He had been surrounded by Wasps and couldn't use his sword to block all of the lasers. He screamed he needed a shield and then... A bubble formed and blocked the lasers long enough for Ash to get to the activated Tower while the Wasps were distracted.

"Powers?" Milly holds her hand out. "Like what?" A blue orb forms at the end of her hand. "What!?" It fires out and hits the sector. "Whoa!"

"That is so cool!" Tamiya holds her hand out and nothing happens. "Oh." She looks over at Ash. "What can you do?"

"I deactivate the..." The ground shakes. "The Towers when Xana attacks." She looks up at the sky. "Jeremie, send Odd. Xana activated a Tower."

Tamiya and Milly help, Ash deactivates the Tower, and Jeremie brings everyone back to Earth.

Milly can't take her eyes off of Ash as they all stand on the Control Room.

Jeremie look up at the monitor. "So, now that we have two girls scanned I can really start comparing Ash to everyone else. If she is an AI, she should be different from others. If she isn't..." He looks at her. "Then she disappeared from the world. Years, maybe even decades ago."

"What!?" Milly, still staring at Ash, jaw drops. "I mean, then, we could look up missing person records. See who you were, or, are!"

"Yes! A missing person case solved years later. A big story!"

"Wait!" Everyone flinches when Odd yells. "Ladies, we don't know who Ash is. If she disappeared a decade ago how would we explain her not aging? And her parents, well, where are they? They aren't here."

"And," Jeremie clears his throat. "If she is AI, the government would want her. I, I mean, we must protect her. And the Quantum Computer."

We have to wait but this will be a major story. I'm winning awards for this story. "Of course, Jeremie. We'll help protect her! Right Tamiya?"

"Of course, Milly." This is too big a story. We'll get in trouble. The government? I'm not getting myself in legal trouble over this. "We have to. And make sure this stays a secret."

"Thank you, both of you." Jeremie smiles at Milly. "I'm glad you believed me."

"Of course, Jeremie." All those times we... Well, it never worked out but I knew I had to stay friends with you. This must be why. "I will always trust you."

Ash walks over and hugs Tamiya. "Great! I will love having more friends. Female friends, too! I have not had any yet." She hugs Milly next. "We could, cruise the mall, as they say."

"Hey," Odd smiles. "Ulrich and I did some clothes shopping for her but we couldn't get everything she needed."

"Oh? What am I missing?"

"Well, I wasn't sure if you were a 38..."

"Odd!"

He flinches. "Hey, Jeremie, just saying. The undershirts we got are probably good but the ladies need support. And we got boxers but,"

Ash clears her throat. "Since the return, I have plenty of memories. I did my own shopping, thank you Jeremie for the money." She smiles. "So my new friends and I can go pick out cute things for any boys we like, that deserve them."

Jeremie can't help the smile that spreads across his face.

Milly finally takes her eyes off of Ash and looks over at Jeremie. These two are dating? After all those times we tried and failed... Well, dating would have distracted me from my hobby. "Girl time! I don't have a boyfriend but it looks like you do, Ash."

"I do! What about you, Tamiya?"

"I, well,"

"She does!" Milly turns and winks at her. "She thinks I don't know but I do." She taps her nose. "I could smell out a story from a kilometer away. Don't think I didn't notice the perfume you wore when you had to study. Away from me. And not at the library, either."

Tamiya smiles. "Of course you knew."

Ash walks over to the elevator. "Thank you Jeremie, for finding me new friends! From what you told me about Milly, she will become a great friend." She claps her hands together. "So, are we going now?"

"Yes!" Tamiya follows Ash on to the elevator.

"Wait for me!" A friend? Sure. Let me find out as much about her as possible. AI, or missing girl, this will all be the story that I use to make it to the big leagues!

A/N Ah, I did like I did for Code Xana and just do the "Go to Lyoko, Beat Xana" So I can focus on the story.
