A.N. — It's International Women's Day, so here is a fairly well-known character that doesn't get an official birthday. And she's placed here, rather than right next to her husband, because that pairing came out of nowhere. Though her son is one of the few characters from the epilogue I would willingly write.
67. Nymphadora Tonks
Tonks could morph into a male in every way that mattered, but her mind would always consciously be a woman's.
Nymphadora had learned early in Auror training that the Department wasn't above using her. This meant spending more time morphed into other people than inhabiting her own body. Moody's advice had proved invaluable in those times. He'd told Tonks to always be true to herself. Impersonating many shady, male, targets led to dysphoria she hadn't dealt with since puberty. Knowing she was still Tonks behind the facade kept her grounded. Her form was hers, even if others abused her gifts.
