Harry Overrides The Court

"Hang on a moment" Harry said, startling those that were trying to convict him, "I want to ask you a few things" and Madam Bones nodded simply.

"Ask your questions, it is your right after all" she spoke with a tone of finality.

"Nobody is to do magic in the presence of Muggles unless they are aware of it, correct?" Harry smirked.

"That is correct"

"And that even underaged witches and wizards are allowed to do magic in order to defend themselves and others, correct?"

"Indeed – the fact a witch or wizard could find themselves alone and under attack is why we have this exemption"

"Then I want to point out that the case against me has no basis" Harry said, trying to think how Hermione would talk.

"Explain" demanded the pink wearing toad like woman.

"Although I do not get on with him very well, my cousin is fully aware of magic so the charge of breaking the Statute doesn't apply. Second, the charge of using magic whilst underaged also does not apply because I was defending myself and my cousin from a dark creature"

"What do you mean?" asked Fudge as he blinked in surprise – he had not been expecting Harry to give as good as he got.

"Dementors work for the Ministry, but they are classed as a dark creature, correct?"

"That is true"

"So by using a defensive spell against known creatures of dark, I fail to see how I am in the wrong" Harry leaned back in the uncomfortable chair.

"You are still sticking to your story that a pair of Dementors decided to take a trip to where you live and attempted to take your soul?" the toad like woman spat in disgust.

"They came to attack me, that much is clear from both my testimony and from the Healers that treated my cousin for exposure" Harry replied, turning his gaze back to Madam Bones – the only fair person in the room. "If it was not two Ministry controlled ones, then somebody has imported them into the country and I should think, Minister", he quickly glanced at Fudge before looking back at Bones, "That you would want to launch an investigation to find and punish the person or persons responsible. Of course, that would be an investigation that I would fully support given how badly affected I can be by them" and Fudge was about to say something when he realised that coming out and saying that he was wrong about what he had said about Harry might actually gain him points in the minds of the magical population.

"And who do you think sent them?" he asked.

"As I see it, there are only three options" Harry knew that he had them and tried his best to Hermione Granger them into submission. "The first is that Voldemort and his followers made a deal with them, the second is that somebody in the Ministry did so and the third is that a private citizen did it. Of course, Minister, that is for you to decide"

"What a shame that you can't prove any of this" Umbridge sneered.

"There is" Madam Bones told her. "This court has the ability to project images from a subject's mind and then we can see if what he said was true or not"

"Then I demand to use it to show my side of the story… And if I don't get to do it, then I shall take my case to the highest authority in the land. I am told she is quite the fan of mine after helping her out twice during my time at Hogwarts" Harry gestured to an elderly woman sat in the public area of the courtroom – the only person there apart from a reporter from the Daily Prophet.

"And who are you?" Fudge demanded of the woman with a lack of manners and disgust.

"I happen to be your worst nightmare"

"You don't look like my mother in law" and a few chuckles were heard from around the courtroom.

"If I was, I believe that I would have done something about that" the woman replied flatly. "Mr Potter, I do believe that the verdict has already been set against you by the Minister"

"Ma'am?"

"The Minister has tried his best to convict you by changing your hearing to a full criminal case and moved the location to here – a place where only the most hardened criminals are put on trial. It was just as well that I get notifications about these sorts of things or else I would not be in a position to help you. As it is, I think I have heard and seen enough about this already" the woman rose to her feet and stared directly at Fudge. "Minister Cornelius Fudge, given the evidence of my own eyes and that which has been given to me, I decree that you are not fit for office and hereby remove you from your position immediately" she glanced to her sides and two cloaked figures shimmered into view wearing bright scarlet robes with gold insignia and white collars. "Arrest Mr Fudge and take him to cells at once pending an investigation into his conduct. Madam Bones, please undertake my wishes. I name you the Acting Minister until an election can be undertaken"

"YOU CAN'T DO THIS!" Fudge roared as he got to his feet and took his wand out to aim at the back of the woman as she left the court room. Before either of the woman's guards could react, Harry had taken out his wand and blasted Fudge into the wall.

"Thank you, Mr Potter" she smiled as she glanced back at the now former Minister as he tried to get his wits about him, "I can't do that…? I'm the bloody Queen – I do what I want"
