This is what she feared the most. He's already moved on. She was too late. Her heart is flooded with sadness and regret. Squeezing her. Too tight.

Suddenly she can't breathe.

Beckett falls to the floor, her body unable to fight any longer.

"Beckett!" Castle cries desperately. It's all in slow motion in front of his eyes. He sprints towards her plummeting figure, running faster than ever before.

He reaches her just in time. Shame surging through him. It's his fault. Her body is still healing from the shooting. He shouldn't have pushed her so hard.

"Kate, I'm so sorry."
