"Sorry, Sasha," Naomi apologized, wiping her face as she willed her gauntlet away.
"It's no problem, Naomi," Sasha responded as she willed her whip away. "Did something happen out here? Where's Jimmy? And, more to the point, what's caused you two to unfuse?"
"It's a bit of a long story," Naomi said. "But, if I had to guess, Jimmy disappearing like that…. ...I think it means that we broke up."
Well, breaking up is never a good thing. It's definitely not a good thing when it comes to Jimmy and Naomi we're talking about here. This isn't good. But, let's see how things'll go in this chapter. I hope you all enjoy. =)
"'Broke up?' What does that mean?" Sasha asked, feeling confused before getting hit with a pang of worry as she took hold of Naomi's hand to inspect her Gem. "It doesn't mean something happened to your Gem, does it?"
A light laugh escaping her, Naomi said "No, Sasha, it's nothing like that. As you can see, my Gem is okay."
Seeing that the taller Gem was right, Sasha let go of Naomi's hand before asking "Well, if 'broke up' doesn't have anything to do with your Gem, then what exactly does it mean?"
Another light laugh coming out of her, Naomi said "It's a bit of a long story."
"Oh. I see," Sasha said. "Well, if you want, you can tell me this long story. I wouldn't mind hearing it."
She had thought against this at first. After all, she and Jimmy did just break up, so it was something that she was still feeling a bit raw from. But, maybe she should at least talk through this with Sasha to maybe get someone else's perspective on how to try to fix this. Taking a breath in before letting it out, Naomi said "Well, I guess I should go back a bit before I can really try to explain this….'
Punching away at some nearby trees, Jimmy did his best to let out some of the frustration that had been building within him. Feeling as though he had let out enough of his frustration, for now at least-many of the trees he had been using for punching bags missing chunks of their bark being proof of his stress relief-the brunette let out a heavy sigh as he looked up at the sky. 'Why? Just why is Naomi being so stubborn about telling Bayley that we're a Fusion? Doesn't she know how happy and excited that would make baby girl? I just don't get it.'
Low hissing to his right caught him offguard as, the next thing Jimmy knew, he found himself face-to-face with a pair of centipeedles. "Still haven't found your mama, I see. No worries. I'll just take care of your asses like I always do," Jimmy said with a smirk as he readied himself to take on these Gem creatures.
Looking down at the bags of groceries he had, Seth couldn't help but let his mind begin to wander with ideas for what he could try to cook for dinner tonight. 'It's been a bit on the warm side lately. I wonder what would be get to eat on a night like this.'
He had made it up the hill and had just climbed up the steps when he was greeted by a surprise guest.
"Naomi! Well, this is quite a surprise. What brings you here today?" the two-toned Gem asked, genuinely surprised to see her.
"I ...I just thought I'd pop in for a surprise visit. Is that so wrong?" the brunette female asked, a slightly uneasy smile crossing her face.
"No. Nothing wrong with that," Seth responded, his body language mirroring Naomi's. 'This is weird. What's Naomi doing here? Did something happen between her and Jimmy that made them unfuse?'
Taking note of the look on his face, Sasha asked "Seth, do you need help with those bags you have?"
"Y-Yeah, I do. Umm, Naomi, you wouldn't mind staying out here while we take this stuff inside, would you? We'll be right back, I promise."
All Naomi did was nod in response to what Seth said as she let her gaze drift out to the town.
Keeping his grip on the bags, Seth headed inside with Sasha following behind him. Setting the groceries on the kitchen island, Seth sighed. "Do I even want to know why Naomi's here? Where's Jimmy? Is he out dealing with some kind of Gem creature?"
"Not ...exactly," Sasha began.
"What? What does that mean? ...Sasha. What's going on here?"
"Well. From what Naomi's told me, she and Jimmy have broken up," Sasha explained before adding "But don't worry, her Gem is okay. I gave it a look just to be on the safe side."
"Don't worry, Sash, I have an idea of what breaking up means," Seth said, a slight chuckle escaping him at the magenta-haired Gem's naïveté. Clearing his throat, Seth asked "So, did Naomi say anything about what caused their break up?"
"No. She didn't seem to have much to say about that. It's almost like she had just shut down a bit when I asked her about what happened," Sasha explained.
"She did? ...Oh man. That's not good," Seth said.
"So I got from when I talked to Naomi earlier. What…. Just what are we supposed to do about this?"
"I…. I honestly don't know. Did she say anything about what may have caused her and Jimmy to unfuse?"
"No, she didn't. Like I said, I tried asking her, but she just ...it seems like she just shut down on me."
Hearing this had Seth feeling at a loss. Sure in the past he had seen when Jimmy and Naomi had their spats and quarrels, but they would always make up not too long after. So, the fact that Naomi wouldn't tell Sasha about what happened….
"Nyaa?" Seth heard from his right. Seeing Rosey Paws pad into the kitchen, the two-toned Gem chuckled a bit before saying "Sorry if our chat woke you up" as he picked up and petted the cat.
A low purr was Rosey Paws's response to that as she got comfortable in Seth's hold.
A realization coming to her, Sasha asked "Wait. Bayley will be back from her friend's house any minute now. How are we going to explain this to her?"
"I ...I don't know," Seth said, coming to that realization himself. "We need to find Jimmy. And soon."
Well now! ...It looks Seth and Sasha are both a bit stuck in regards to how to try to help our dear unfused pair. Maybe when Bayley and Dean get home they can try to help sort things out and get them back together (and help bring Roman back). Looks like quite the task for the quartet to tackle. And said task tackling shall begin ...next time! Until then, don't forget to RR please. =)
(Just a couple of things here: Sasha was such a mother hen checking Naomi's Gem after she told her about her and Jimmy breaking up. And Chef Seth was kinda cute, too. That is all.)
(Stay safe, warm, and healthy out there, lovelies. *sends love and good vibes out to you all*
