Episode Name: "Kickin' Bot"
Episode Summary:
Kaz gets a new scan of Iron Pillar. Normally, this isn't anything special since he and his friends all have scans of it, but something happened to the location making it look almost unrecognizable. Kaz then tells the story of what happened.
Ulmar was working on making intelligent Gigantropers that wouldn't need a creature controlling them to do tasks. But he made them too smart. The robots turned on the Underworlder and appeared to want to take over. H'earing suggest to get them all to Iron Pillar since battle gear doesn't work there. But turns out the robots aren't actually battle gear, but creatures!
Ulmar gave them a piece of his brain to make them smart, but that gave the robots enough intelligence to become self-aware. The robots then began to take the iron out of Iron Pillar so they can make more robots. If they take all the iron out then that would weaken Iron Pillar and make that part of the Underworld collapse. Chaor then makes a new plan. He orders Ulmar and Khybon to transform one of his huge statuses into a mech. Chaor then fights the robots in his new mech. The robots turn into one mega robot and have a one on one fight with Chaor. It looked like the ceiling of the Underworld would give out any minuet. Chaor points this out to the robot and says they would be destroyed if that happens. So the mega robot goes back to Iron Pillar and uses its own body to hold up the Udnerworld. Chaor uses rustoxic on the robot to keep it in place. And that's the story of how Iron Pillar became a mega robot.
Season 3, Episode 3
Robots made of iron
Have brains to be self-aware
But not to be smart.
Notes: Well this was a fun episode. I was trying to find the Iron Pillar card where the Gigantroper is in it. Couldn't find it, so it might have been one of the unreleased cards in the Fire and Stone set. There's artwork of the card on the fan wiki. I didn't search for the card long, so if you know that it has been released then go ahead and correct me in a review or PM.
So the Gigantropers had the intelligence to understand that they exist and that they don't have to do what Ulmar or anyone else tells them to do. But for some reason, they didn't think that destroying Iron Pillar would also kill them? Guess Ulmar didn't give them enough of his brain.
I have a theory that Ulmar can regenerate his brain. If he is fine with taking small chunks out to make a robot army then he must not be worried of what it can do to his mind. Could also explain why it's fine for his brain to be exposed and not protected behind a skull.
Question: Do you think my Ulmar theory is right?
