Fiore | Sabertooth Guild
Life at the Sabertooth guild soon returned back to normal as the weeks went by.
The competition of who was going to take the most jobs request this month-
Who is going to a company lady Minerva on her next mission-
Were they going to attend the Grand Magic Games this year?
Well, since now that Fairy Tail is back?
After the encounter with...
'With them...' Sting narrowed his eyes onto the bluenette from his guild master's chair
She was laughing it up alongside Yukino, holding Frosh in her arms as Rogue looked as if he was in distress.
Geez man, pull yourself together. It's just a cat.
Hmph. This concerned the dragon slayer. He's never seen her laugh around anyone else but him... since she's joined the guild.
Not that it was a bad thing! Sting wanted more than anything for the girl to be her normal happy go lucky self, but this... Seemed strange.
Out of character...
Was she putting on an act?
Heh. Definitely was.
"Sting?"
Snapping out of his thoughts, the guild master looked up to face the moonlight mage staring at him. Her expression was somewhat troubling, which made Sting sit up from his desk rather startled.
Did she need him?
"Hey, are you okay?"
Blinking in confusion all the blonde could do was stare back.
'She's asking me if I'm okay?'
He was in the middle of going through an enormous amount of paperwork stacked up on his desk. Piles and piles of nonsense the blonde just didn't want to deal with.
Too focused on the moonlight mage, the rest of his work suffered for it. It's not like he wanted to deal with stupid paper work anyway... but all the weeks he's been putting off, the dragon slayer looked worse for words. The colour in his face was completely drained with under eyes bags beginning to form. This look... It didn't really suit him well.
She was concerned about him? You kiddin' me?
Letting out a tired sigh, the blonde dropped his head down on the side of the desk. His left cheek collided with the hardwood.
But that wasn't the only thing that was swirling around in his brain.
Fairy Tail...
Knowing that Vyra would never admit such a thing, the guild master knew how much she needed them.
Well, besides the fairy queen and that stupid prick-
Which added another element to his stress.
What was he going to do? He didn't want her to stay at Sabertooth because of him...
Fairy Tail was her family from the beginning regardless of all things that happened. There's so much more to their charisma besides Natsu and the Tenrou team.
He knew that she couldn't turn her back on the rest of them.
Gajeel, Levy-
Mira Jane, Elfman, Lisanna-
Jett, Droy-
Cana, Macao, Romeo-
Laxus...
The pressure migraine starting to form on the right side of the blondes brain made him clench his temples with his hands before getting up from his desk.
"S-Sting..." Vyra's expression immediately shifted from slightly worried to now overwhelming concerned
"I just need some air-"
And with that, the guild master briskly walked through the double doors leading to the recreational area of the guild (aka the pool area)
In the main guild hall, Olga, Rufus and Yukino all watched the scene from behind leaving Vyra standing there at his work desk completely speechless.
"I wonder..."
.
.
.
"What that was about..."
Later that night | 1:00 am
12:57, 12:58, 12:59...
The ticking of the clock had Sting Eucliffe stuck in a daze. He was uncomfortably laying on his bed trying to get some sleep.
But yeah...
The sleep part-
Just wasn't happening.
Stripping off his soaking wet sweat stained shirt, the dragon slayer forced himself up from his bed walking over to the balcony, proceeding to open the double glass doors.
Feeling the brisk breeze glide along the sides of his face, he closed his eyes inhaling before exhaling. Slightly, he rose up his arms to take in the night's beautiful breeze.
But little did the blonde know, he had a night visitor. Usually he'd be able to sniff her out in a heartbeat, but for some reason Sting didn't even notice the bluenette standing in his doorway.
"Psst... Sting... you awake?" She whispered, squinting around in the dark to find the boy
He's been off today... and the moonlight mage couldn't put her finger on it.
Noticing his silhouette standing in the balcony, Vyra's cheeks slightly flushed due to the dragon slayer being completely shirtless with his eight pack abs on full display.
The sheer burgundy curtains danced in the wind having the moonlight shine in behind him as his dull tired eyes lingered on her figure.
I mean he usually only wears a vest in the first place, so it shouldn't be all that distracting. His muscles were always on display, but something about the boys body language...
He looked vulnerable.
Sickly even.
"S-Sting?" She repeated hissing out a whisper slowly walking into his room
The girl had her hair down wearing her pajamas consisting of a pale blue tank top matching with a pair of frilly blue polka-dot short shorts. Barefooted, her tiny footsteps hardly made a sound as she walked over to his balcony.
"Hey, what are you doing out there?"
"It's late, come inside-" She insisted holding open the balcony door
Although the moonlight mage might've been asking the questions, the dragon slayer's brain was running on rapid fire.
Why was she here?
Awake?
In the middle of the night?
Was she okay?
But the only thing he could spew out of his mouth was her name.
Easily, that was a sign for the girl... knowing that yes, something was indeed wrong. The blonde always had cheesy nicknames for her every-time they came into contact...
Leaning on the tips of her toes, the bluenette lifted her arm placing her hand on the top of his forehead.
"Woah! H-Heyy! You're burning up!" She quickly removed her sizzling hand
Vyra even hesitated giving him a second opportunity to come up with something witty.
Saying that he's 'burning up'. Usually the blonde would immediately have a come back with a teasing reply-
But...
Nothing.
"Here, let's get you inside-" She wrapped a supporting arm around his torso leading him back into the room.
Once she got the dragon slayer back into bed, Vyra headed to the washroom to grab a towel soaking it in cold water.
Wringing out the drenched towelette, the girl didn't even realize that her hands were trembling.
'Get it together Vy, he needs you.'
"Here, this should cool down your temperature-" She placed a washcloth on the top of his forehead brushing his bangs out of the way
Not saying a word, Sting just watched the blue haired beauty take care of him. Not that she had to, but he enjoyed her presence every time she was around.
'Heh. What a stupid boy. Having too much pride as a dragon slayer... As a man... to say he was feeling ill-'
Well everyone breaks down here and there.
And Vyra Fernades was definitely the queen of emotional breakdowns with all the things she's been through.
What's very interesting about Vyra's sunlight form was that it had a connection to the Dragon Slayer. Vyra could heal herself anytime she gathered sun or moonlight...
and...
Sting Eucliffe was the only other person that she is able to heal besides herself.
Did it have to do with them both being light magic wielders?
The White Light Dragon Slayer and the Lost Sun/Moon Magic wielder?
Vyra didn't know, but maybe they were meant to meet.
Meant to be together.
Fate.
"W-What... Are you doing h-here?" Sting stuttered out with his cheeks lightly flushed due to his fever
Hesitating with her answer, the blunette stroked his hair leaning on her side close enough to the blonde to feel the boy's body heat.
"I came to check up on you-"
...
"No you didn't-"
"Sting-"
Vyra scouched back a bit taking slight offense to his remark.
"What do you mean I didn't?" She retorted as her heart began to race
"You've been acting a little strange all day long, of course I was worried you big dummy-"
Letting out a small chuckle he proceeded to lean back comfortably with a smile as their matching cerulean eyes locked.
Gently, Vyra placed her hand on his chest as it began to glow a bright golden colour. Knowing what she was about to do, Sting grabbed her hand.
"You don't have to-"
"Hey-" Her bright blue eyes turned solid
"Let me help you." Vyra cut him off
Unable to refuse her request, he rested his head against his fluffy pillow feeling the sensation of her light energy intertwine with his.
With all the sunlight she's absorbed during the day, the girl could easily lift a fever.
Slowly, his sluggish aching body began to feel lighter and healthier with every passing second Vyra used her sunlight.
Feeling his temperature slowly decrease, watching his pale clammy cheeks come back to life, the bluenette felt like she could breathe again.
"Why would you think I wouldn't come to see if you were okay?" She lightly snapped, shooting him a concerning glare.
Ignoring the question, Sting cut her off making her body stiffen.
"Why are you really awake?"
"You're here to check on me... In the middle of the night. Randomly..." He began to ponder
"I appreciate it, you know I do... but I just don't buy it-" The dragon slayer rolled his body turning to face her
Dammit.
"Eh, I'm a night owl-" She collapsed down onto the other side of the king sized bed staring at the high ceiling
"Liar-"
"..."
"I-"
"I couldn't sleep."
Watching her body language and solemn expression, Sting softly stared in silence waiting for her to continue on.
"How could I after today?" She pushed herself up leaning on her elbow locking eyes with the dragon slayer
Understandable. It's been a rough day for the both of them.
"You can always sleep with me-"
...
The girl's cheeks immediately flushed as steam figuratively shot out of her ears.
"Okay, I'll pretend that you didn't say that-" Vyra scoffed picking up one of the fluffed pillows lightly wacking him with it before cozying herself under the covers close to him
"I mean, you didn't deny it-" He lifted an arm wrapping it around her tiny frame as she scooted closer. Something about the blonde... just made her feel so safe.
"Shut up-" She cutely pouted snuggling up to his chest making the blonde let out a chuckle
After five or more minutes of silence, eyelids getting heavier, being in each other's arms... they could finally relax. Before sleep could reach them, Vyra lifted up her torso to match his height with their noses slightly leaning into each other.
Suddenly the boy felt his cheeks warm up at the sudden proximity between him and the blunette. Glancing down at his strong lips before catching his gaze once again, he had done the same for her.
"Sunsh-"
Cutting him off, their lips collided. Her strawberry tasting ones against his vanilla ones. It was as if a new light energy source was created. The dragon slayer could feel it spark down to his toes. Simply amazing.
"Goodnight." She whispered, laying her body on his bare chest closing her blue orbs with a smile.
"Night-" Sting smirked holding her in his arms before his mind started to drift off to dreamland
'Sleep tight-'

'My love...'
A/N: I am swooning. I love Stingra. (My ship name for Vyra and Sting) Now don't worry, we will see more of Gray soon.
Starting this fanfic at the beginning, Vyra's age was 18. I like to think now she and the rest of the Tenrou team (besides Erza b/c she's a year older) are either 20 or 21.
From the Eisenwald Arc to the S-Class Trial Arc, (Episode 5 to like episode 124) I think it was stated in the anime that those arcs took place throughout one whole year.
So Vyra was 19 going on 20 right before the tenrou incident. So yeah. Then add another seven years (which doesn't really matter) but now, on top of that we add one more year from Fairy Tail's disbandment.
So 20 or 21 makes sense right? I'm just trying to figure out the timeline because I want to show Vyra's growth. She's not a silly little girl anymore. Her being with Sting, their relationship is more... Mature. As in grown up. And I'm really excited to explore more of that side with him.
