Haven't really spoke about the new episodes of RWBY for a bit so I'd just like to say I didn't like "Dark" at all but I loved "Burn the witch". Sure there was some problems with episode 10 but overall I loved it. Still quiet bummed about them delaying this week's episode though.
After the grenade exploded there was a moment where Jekyll was free from any interference when he moved to collect his partner. There wasn't time to help belle limp away so he pulled her over his shoulder and ran as fast as he could.
He couldn't tell how long he'd been running but if he was being honest it didn't really matter. The faster he was the further he'd be able to get away from that whole mess behind him. Jekyll avoided streets with people on them and favored the back alleys whenever possible until belle tapped his back.
He placed her down on her feet but made sure to do so as gently as possible with his free hand. Belle grunted when her feet touched the ground "thanks" she said. Jekyll switched the sword to his left hand and tapped belle's shoulder with his right "you ok? I saw you take some pretty hard hits back there".
Belle nodded "my aura absorbed most of the damage". She placed a hand against her right rib before sliding it over to her left "still...wish I could've used my semblance back there. Taking pyrrha's shield and yangs gauntlets head on without a guard really hurt".
Jekyll chuckled "true, if you used your semblance you could have used it to get out of their combo easily. But I'm sure if you did you would've given away who you really are under that mask".
Sadly it was true. Clones in particular were common, but the way they were used usually differed from individual to individual. Unlike sun who used them to fight along side him, she would use the force that was created by creating a clone to propel herself out of harm's way or towards her opponent at faster speeds then normal. Because she was more of a speed based fighter, she didn't rely on brute strength to get the job done.
Besides that, her team had become used to seeing her use her semblance, and if anyone was going to take notice it'd most likely be either pyrrha or ruby. With that being said changing ones fighting style would be nearly impossible unless years of practice was had before this moment - which she hadn't had. There was too much to think about at the moment and it didn't feel relevant with them having already escaped.
Belle was normally more aware of her surroundings thanks to her past but when Jekyll quickly grabbed her and dove to the right and out of harm's way she knew she messed up. The two rolled on the floor with Jekyll getting to his feet first with the katana at the ready. Their assailant had landed in the spot where they once stood before spinning like a top, scarlet hair flowing wildly and emerald eyes clear and focused.
Pyrrha tossed her shield and Jekyll held his sword diagonally to defend only to be surprised when the shield bypassed him entirely. Belle got up at the wrong time and got a face full of bronze in the shape of a shield that cracked her mask and knocked her back before she could formulate a thought. Jekyll turned to his partner and called out to her to see if she was okay, unfortunately he didn't get a response and was forced to focus on the woman in front of him instead.
Pyrrha tossed her sword like a javelin straight at him, there was a bang and the sword shifted into a spear a second later. The sudden change caused the weapon to close the distance almost too quickly for Jekyll to guard against it properly. After years of training with the best, Jekyll's body moved on instinct and brought the katana up to block the spear from doing any damage.
Pyrrha wasted not even a second as she rushed forward and caught the spear before spinning in place and aiming low to trip her opponent up. Jekyll anticipated her move and jump back before it could land, he then decided to rush back towards her the second his feet touched the ground. Pyrrha stuck her hand out and a bronze bracelet she wore on her wrist began to glow purple before her shield nearly rammed into Jekyll's back on it's way to her hand.
The bronze shield returned in time to defend it's master from Jekyll's cross slash before being pushed forward to shield bash the masked man backwards. When pyrrha pushed forward her weapon changed back into it's sword form so she could easily thrust over her shield at such a short distance without a problem. The blade reached out and carved a line into Jekyll's mask instead of running him through when he leaned his head to the left.
Pyrrha then used more force with her shield and pushed it into Jekyll's sword when she withdrew her own to disarm him. The katana flew from Jekyll's grip and hit the wall closest to belle before pyrrha spun to her left and slashed the masked man's left leg with her sword. Aura crackled because of the damage but it didn't deter Jekyll in the slightest.
Pyrrha went for another slash towards Jekyll's chest but the masked man stopped her attack. He stepped close enough to catch her wrist with his right hand and with one quick movement sent the red heads blade flying away to his left. Pyrrha went for another shield bash but Jekyll blocked it with his forearm before grabbing the top of the shield with his left hand.
Pyrrha knew what was about to happen so she flooded her right arm with aura just as Jekyll took hold of the the bottom of her shield with his right. What Jekyll did next would have broken the arm of anyone caught unaware and unprepared. The shield rotated to the left forcefully, instead of trying to resist pyrrha flipped with her shield using Jekyll to help complete the maneuver.
She couldn't tell if Jekyll was surprised because of the mask but when her feet landed on the ground she was easily able to rip free and bash her shield into his face. The bronze bracelet on her left wrist glowed purple and drew pyrrha's discarded sword back to her hand before she slashed Jekyll's chest. Behind the mask jaune grunted at the pain as he backed away.
He knew pyrrha had gotten better over the years but this was more then he thought possible. She was strong enough to be named the invincible girl for a time and now it seemed he was learning first hand what that meant. Then there was those bracelets she wore on each of her wrists.
When had she gotten those? But more importantly how come she never used them in any of her training matches in miss goodwitch's classes? Clearly she had some training in using gravity dust if she could use them in such a way but still it made it difficult to disarm her if she could just call them back whenever she wanted.
Jekyll settled into a fighting stance that mirrored yangs for the next set of attacks pyrrha was going to use when voices were heard coming around the corner.
"I heard a gun shot from over there"!
"Ruby are you sure that's what you heard" yang asked.
"She is a weapons nerd" weiss monotoned
"Yeah" ruby agreed before realizing what weiss fully meant "I'd prefer expert rather then nerd actually" she whined.
Belle had gotten to her feet and heard their voices as well "Jekyll we got to go". It was easier said then done but he did have a plan "alright but we got to split up". Belle was shocked at the suggestion "split up?! Are you crazy"?
"Look, if you haven't noticed yet pyrrha has only been focused on me this entire time we've been fighting so I think I can lure her away. We haven't been spotted by the others yet so while one of us is being bait for their strongest fighter the other can keep the rest distracted".
It was a plan just not a very good one belle thought "how am I supposed to keep those three occupied? They'll murder me"! Jekyll didn't give her a choice because he turned and ran her way "move"! Belle growled with anger and was about to run when she saw the katana on the floor.
Jekyll was going to need that so just like a soccer ball she kicked it his way and he caught it with his free hand before they rushed down the alleyway together. Pyrrha obviously gave chase and fired off a few rounds when she changed her sword into it's rifle form. When Jekyll and belle reached the end of the alley the two split in opposite directions forcing pyrrha to choose one to follow and allowing the other to escape.
Just as Jekyll had predicted the red head chose him. Staying on ground level was a risk for many reasons so he chose to scale the closest building. The chase continued over the rooftops as Jekyll led the red head further and further away from belle and the rest of her teammates.
Eventually after a good deal of running the masked man came to a stop on top of a random roof. He turned towards his pursuer before clicking the switch just under the ear so he could speak. "You are really persistent, care to tell me why"?
"No" pyrrha answered before rushing in to attack. Jekyll met her half way and the two traded blows in quick succession cause sparks to fly with how fierce they fought. Pyrrha jump in the air and tossed her sword just over Jekyll's shoulder before activating her bracelet once more.
Instead of her weapon flying back to her hand the red head was pulled towards her weapon where she came down like a meteor on Jekyll. The masked man's feet skidded across the roof as he tried to hold her off. He shifted her weight and tossed her into the air over him where pyrrha flipped over and tossed her shield at him like a frisbee.
The shield fell short or so he thought until it bounced off the floor and nearly hit him in the face before he backflipped out of the way. With no weapons on hand it was his best opportunity to attack but just like any skilled huntress worth their weight, pyrrha was prepared. Jekyll rushed at her but pyrrha activated her bracelet and jump to the side allowing the gravity dust to quickly pull her towards her weapon and out of the way.
When she picked up her spear with her right, she used her left to call back the shield she had thrown. Jekyll shook his head incredulously "just where the heck did you learn how to fight"? Pyrrha didn't answer, instead she lowered herself in to her combat stance.
"I get the feeling you hate me on a personal level"
Pyrrha huffed "I got it on good authority that your the reason my father is dead". Behind the masked jaune eyes widened in surprise before realizing this was probably what Alec had put into their heads. It was so typical of his former master that he wasn't even surprised about it anymore.
"Impossible" he said plainly. Pyrrha shook her head "of course a criminal would deny the charges against them". Jekyll knew she wouldn't believe him without proof and getting busted killing white fang probably didn't help either, but what could he do? With the way this was going he'd have to nearly kill her to get away and that wasn't an option.
He'd already almost accidentally killed yang because he never thought she'd freeze up like she did back at the abandoned building. After mulling it over he realized there was a way to punch a hole in Alec's story but at a great cost. Pyrrha was someone he trusted greatly and she already knew about his criminal shenanigans so why not take the plunge.
Jekyll's sword stabbed into the roof before he reached up for his mask. Pyrrha was slightly confused at what he was doing until he yanked off the red mask revealing blonde hair and a face she recognized all to well.
"I said it's impossible because I was only five and I'm pretty sure you and I were running around together at the time" jaune finished with a slight smile. Pyrrha's body stiffened and she didn't exactly know how to respond to this sudden reveal. Her mouth opened and closed as she tried to make words but failed to voice them at all.
Eventually she took a deep breath before walking over to him. Her sword changed into it's spear form while she placed her shield on her back. There was no indication that she was going to attack him so he let it slid when she bopped him on the head with the flat side of her spear - Didn't mean it didn't hurt a little.
Pyrrha placed a hand on her hip and glared at him "you idiot I could have seriously hurt you back there"! The spear retracted into it's sword form before it was put away. She wasn't normally so easy to anger but this one time she thought she could make an exception.
Jaune chuckled "I will admit you are definitely strong but I think I would've been alright". Pyrrha's hand covered her face a moment later as she let out a sigh "that's not what I..(sigh)...nevermind, just tell me what your doing dressed up like this" she motioned to his outfit. Jaune held his arms out "working, I guess you could say".
"Working? Jaune you killed a bunch of people and attacked us. That grenade you threw nearly killed yang and seriously hurt Alec" she stressed. Jaune scratched his cheek "yeah that was kinda my bad".
Pyrrha's eyes looked down for a moment before she met him with a tired expression "blake's that other one with you isn't she"?
Irk! He hadn't expected her to figure that out but then again he hadn't really thought that far ahead. Pyrrha sighed once more cause his face all but gave away his answer "what happened to you to make you like this" she whined. Honestly it took a lot for him to change like this, from white fang kidnapping to nearly being killed by people he thought were friends to being attacked by actual friends. She could take her pick.
"I'm sorry pyr but I can explain if you'll let me"?
Pyrrha thought about it before nodding "fine but I want to know everything".
"Okay".
"EVERYTHING"!
"Okay, okay-" he surrendered "just head over to juniors bar and I'll explain there". Pyrrha's eyes narrowed "your not coming"? Jaune held his hands up "I'm just going to get blake and I'll be right behind you I swear".
After a moment she finally agreed "I'll let ruby and the rest know to head back to Beacon, I'll tell them I lost you and hopefully blake hasn't gotten herself captured yet". Jaune smiled "I owe you for that"? She met his gaze and let out another sigh "yeah you really do" she said.
Jaune took the chance to put his mask back on "belle you there"?

"A little busy at the moment" her heel dug in to yangs shoulder as she used the blonde to jump on top of a nearby building. Ruby aimed her sniper rifle and fired off several rounds but belle used her cat like reflex to dodge several of her bullets the moment she landed. She was fast but one bullet caught her chest and knocked her off her feet.
Life really wasn't fair, how come she had to deal with three people while Jekyll got to deal with one? That does it, he was definitely going to make her food, rub her feat and treat her like a queen if she got out of this in one piece. As if to say that wasn't going to happen, weiss appeared in her vision standing upon a glyph before using it to fire herself towards her target.
Belle rolled over and pushed herself on to her feet before keeping the high speed heiress from turning her into a pin cushion by jumping out of the way.
"I'm heading your way now, set of the beacon in your helmet so I can find you quickly" the voice of Jekyll spoke.
Belle did as instructed and clicked the voice masker under her ear three times. There was no knowing if it work until Jekyll confirmed it, which he did and told her to hold on until he got there. It was easier said then done especially when trying to keep away from yangs monstrous punches and ruby's ridiculous speed.
Weiss was probably the easiest to handle since her attacks were predictable unless she amplified them with her semblance. Other then that she relied greatly on her projectile attacks which gave belle plenty of time to maneuver out of the way. "Stay still coward" weiss furiously yelled before shooting five ice shards at the masked woman.
Belle cartwheeled to the left and dodged two of the five ice shards before jumping over a third. Her foot landed on the passing ice shard and she used it to jump over the last two and over to weiss. Her handguns came free and she returned fire, forcing the heiress to retreat as best she could.
Weiss used her glyphs to launch herself away from the gun fire before creating another to send her towards where belle was about to land. Unfortunately for weiss, ruby appeared in her way after seeing their mask foe about to land and thought she could catch her off guard. She succeeded but not in the way she wanted.
"Look out" weiss screamed a little to late as she crashed into their youngest member. The two got tangled up in each other and crashed on the floor while belle landed easily. She watched the two begin to bicker with each other before she decided it was probably her best chance to escape.
The second she turned to run away she came face to face with red eyes and and a large grin. Belle tried to move away and probably could have avoided the attack if yang hadn't grabbed her arm to keep her from escaping. "Argh" yang yelled as she drove her fist into belle's gut knocking her off the building in one go where she free fell into a passing car.
Any normal person would have more then likely died from what just happened but not her. No, she was a huntress with aura that shattered on impact with the moving vehicle. Her body hurt so much that she kinda wished she had died like a normal person back there.
Belle tried to push herself up but the creaking of her bones and the pain she was going through was to much. When she heard the sound of footsteps she knew she was done for.
"They really did a number on you didn't they"?
Belle froze for a second when she heard a masculine voice instead of a feminine one. She looked up to see Jekyll kneel down next to her with one hand outstretched for her to take. Was it wrong that she almost wanted to cry tears of joy...apparently it was because she remembered why exactly she had been sent into this situation in the first place.
Belle reached up and took hold of Jekyll's hand and allowed him to pull her up and into his side. She felt power begin to pour into her for a brief moment just to get her aura back up so she wouldn't be completely defenseless.
Yang, ruby and weiss appeared a moment later with weapons at the ready. "What have you done with pyrrha" ruby asked.
"She tied up at the moment" he answered. Ruby looked a little relieved at first until Jekyll spoke again "for now at least, no telling how long she can stayed tied up before she falls". Yang looked ready to charge but Jekyll held up his scroll for all to see "I wouldn't if I were you". The scroll was off but what caught their attention was when he slid the top over to reveal a red button on the scroll.
"Make one move and I press this button and you can kiss you pretty little friend good bye".
Nobody knew what to do, not even belle herself. Would he really do that? She thought but honestly didn't know either. Yang held her hands up in surrender a moment later as did the rest of her team "what do you want" the blonde asked.
Jekyll looked down at his partner and then back to the blonde "for you to go save your friend. Yang didn't look like she believed him so he pointed in the opposite direction from where he stood "Your friend is that way and if all of you go together you might just find her". Time ticked by slowly before yang let out a frustrated sigh "fine but this isn't the last you've seen of us" she warned.
Jekyll nodded to the blonde before he watched them rush off in the direction he specified. When they were gone he placed his hand behind belle's legs and lifted her up "let's get you out of here" he said before rushing off into the night.
Belle was quite for most of the journey back until they arrived at juniors place. "Jaune what did you do to pyrrha" she asked almost afraid to know the answer. Jekyll looked down at her a for a brief second before chuckling "she's fine, you'll understand when we get inside".
When we get inside? She thought to herself. She soon understood why when they entered the club and went into juniors office to see the red head seated at juniors desk.
Pyrrha looked over to see belle's beaten form before turning over to Jekyll "we can talk when you get changed, also I already spoke with the others ut we'll talk about that later as well". Jekyll placed to fingers to his forehead and gave her a salute "I'll be back" he said as they exited the room. Belle looked up at her partner "now I'm more confused then ever" she said honestly.
Jekyll guided her to their room and filled her up on the things that happened when they split up. Blake discarded her beaten helmet and laid on her bed "I can't believe you told her" she finally said. Jaune shrugged his shoulders "well it was that or let her be manipulated by Alec so I chose the lesser of two evils".
The blonde sat on the bed next to his girlfriend "you had it pretty rough out there, anything I can do to make up for it"? She didn't answer, instead she lifted her feet into his lap. Jaune understood right away and laughed "that's fair I guess" he said as he beg massaging her foot.
He continued until he heard soft snoring coming from the cat faunus. Afterwards he silently pulled the covers over her and kissed her temple before sneaking out of the room. It was time to speak with pyrrha and junior about some things that he had kept hidden from them.
After all Blake's been through you'd better deliver on that pampering Jauney boy lol. This chapter was full of fighting goodness and we got to see some of pyrrha's new skills now that she's lost her semblance.
In case you want to know I've already started on the next chapter and it's gonna have a bit of dialogue cause of stuff. Oh and guest reader your probably right but this is my first story so I'd like to keep it how it is. I will be doing better if I write another story in the future
