Chapter 73: A Siren Sings

*****Previously At Witch Academy*****

"Jaime Reyes," the scarab warned. "There is an unknown hostile in your proximity."

Using his armor's scope, he saw a hidden figure aiming something at Siren. He quickly grabbed his boyfriend.

"LOOK OUT," he yelled.

He pushed Siren back just as a black pearl arrow flew at them. Luckily, all it did was cut through a small part of his armor on his arm.

"Gah," he gasped.

"Are you okay," White asked, worried.

"I'll be fine," Jaime assured him. "It's just a scratch."

More arrows started flying at them.

"Bob and weave, Beetle," White called, making evasive flying maneuvers. "Bob and weave."

Beetle changed his armor's gliders into a jetpack and quickly took off. Both flyers dodged countless arrows of black pearl and ectoranium. Siren had a quick action of firing his scream into tree branches to make a leaf screen. It allowed them to disappear. Jetting through the trees, they made their way to Melinda.

"Mel, we have an archer in the trees with a very trigger happy bow," White informed her.

"Oh boy," the witch swore. "This spell should help us quite nicely. Thanatis Icatis Exodus."

A blue energy pulse shot from her hands. Out in the woods, a large twister burst into the sky. Fallen trees, rocks, things, and agents were swept up.

"Melinda, I think you're addicted to tornados," White stated.

"Wizard of Oz had to based off of something," Melinda smirked.

As the cyclone tore through the woods, one figure was forced out of their tree. She wears a predominantly burnt orange and black costume with a hard orange mask that covers her forehead, nose and cheeks resembling a tiger's face. She also wears a black sheath behind her back which stores her sword with a black belt to store her weapons. Her blond hair and eyes told them who she was.

"Artemis," White gasped.

*****Present Time*****

"Off all people, it had to be her," White complained.

He floated up, his hands glowing. Beetle changed his armor fists into blasters. Melinda's hands glowed shining blue. They were ready for a fight.

"You have some nerve," Beetle snapped. "Turning to the Guys In White, as if you couldn't betray us more than you already have."

"At least i'm not in love with a freak," Artemis growled back. "And I go by Tigress, now."

"I feel bad for tigers everywhere," Melinda smirked.

The former heroine pulled out a crossbow. Old habits die hard, even for traitors. And it didn't take a rocket scientist to know that it was full of more black pearl and ectoranium arrows.

"Your father must be so proud," White glared.

"Like you can talk," Artemis sneered.

"I've heard enough out of you," Melinda yelled. "Kemo Char."

Her hands changing to a yellow-gold color. She sent out short fire-like blasts at the former protégé. Artemis flipped and cartwheeled out of the way of them. But that lead her to getting nailed by Blue Beetle's energy rays. She was thrown against a tree.

"That aught to teach you not to call my boyfriend a freak," Jaime smirked at her. "I don't know what happened to you, beyond you going completely crazy, but I don't take things like that lightly."

"You got one of the good ones," Melinda whispered to Siren. "And usually i'm on the 'I Hate Men' team."

"You have been hanging around that goddess of the moon way too much," White told her.

"Not really," Melinda admitted. "Apollo just keeps flirting with me. Even as a guy, yourself, you'd hate men to if you spend too much time around that sun god."

Siren just rolled his eyes at her.

"Just focus on the crazy girl," White said.

"I can fight and joke at the same time," Melinda giggled. "Somnus."

Her spell effected a few other agents around them that hadn't been swept up in the previous twisters. They all instantly collapsed, fast asleep.

"You really think coming to an entire school of witches and wizards, with a siren also in the building, was a good idea," Jaime said to his former teammate. "I saw one boy summon a blast of water out of thin air. You and the GIW have no chance."

"That's what you think," Artemis smirked.

Within seconds, Siren and Melinda both had to get out of the way of a large green blast. A very familiar green blast, I say.

"Not that thing again," White complained.

And just like he and Beetle suspected, out came Metallo. He was fully repaired with a brand new ectoranium core.

"What the hell," Melinda swore.

But it didn't even end there. The sounds of blasting, screams, crashes, and mechanical movements surrounded them. All over the area.

"There's more than one of these robot villains," White freaked out.

Artemis smirked, causing Melinda to become even angrier than she already was.

"Stingu Invisibus," she cast.

Her hands glowing blue, two boulders rose from the ground. They were surrounded by a blue aura. She threw them at the former hero. But she just managed to evade them.

"I got her, you guys help the students deal with whatever these things are," Melinda ordered.

"Do as the lady says," Skylar says, flying in and hovering near them.

Beetle and Siren flew after the winged horse, Metallo going after them.

"Good," Melinda smiled, then turned an evil look to 'Togress.' "Now it's just you and me, Little-Miss-Crazy."

Artemis held up her crossbow.

"You have nothing on me, Wicked Witch of the West," Artemis glared.

"I believe you have that backwards," Melinda growled. "Silicus Milez Sasitatio."

Creatures then started erupting from the ground. They looked like a combo of ape and muscular man with no facial features. Lines and runes of blue light covered them.

"This Wicked Witch won't be so easy to be taken down," Melinda says.

As Siren and Beetle lead Metallo away from the Battle of Two Fierce Women, they could tell that the Witch Academy students were thrown by the robots showing up.

"I had enough of Metallo the last time I faced him," White said, flying out of the way of another energy blast.

"And that battle ended with a shard of ectoranium lodged in your chest," Jaime reminded. "So be careful this time."

"Trust me, I will," White told him.

They soon got to a large area of the battle. With Metallo robots everywhere, the students were going full out to protect their school and home, not to mention each other. And if there is one thing that all mystics hate, it is robots. Robots basically ruin the science fiction genre. Well, robots and zombies, but that is a whole other issue in its own.

"Water nebula," a water wizard cast.

A spiral of two strong streams of water erupted around the wizard. The water swirled into one of the robots. But he had to use his water to jet off as the machine soon popped up and fired at him.

"Super vibration," a sound witch cast.

Waves of purple washed over that witch's robot opponent. Vibration manipulation magic. The robot was pushed back, some parts of it coming off.

"Hey buddy," another wizard called. "Weapon creation, whip."

A silver whip was created in his hand, out of thin air. He lashed it at the robot trapped in the waves. Pulling it toward him, he quickly conjured a shield. Swinging the shield, the mage bashed the bot Captain America style.

"Try this one for size, sparky," an enchanted artifact mage says to his opponent. "Eye of Dashi."

(Yes, that is from the tv show Xaiolin Showdown. I grew up on that show and was just waiting for a chance to use it.)

Her hands lighting up with lightning, she shot a powerful bolt at the Metallo robot. But the electric shot barely even kept the robot away from her.

"The students are strong, but no magic can keep ectoranium away forever," White says.

"Then what do we do," Jaime asked his boyfriend.

Siren touched his throat. His mind went to his and Phantom's first training session with the team. His siren shriek made the entire cave loss power and nearly shut down Red Tornado.

"My siren shriek could disable them all and maybe and shatter their hearts," White said.

"Your shriek can't reach far enough to get to them all," Jaime reminded. "And I doubt that there are any sound projection mages at this school."

"My shriek can't, but my song can," White says. "If I can combine the power of my siren song with the effects of my siren shriek, it might work."

"At this point, i'll take anything," Jaime said. "Just do it fast."

Switching from his gliders to his jetpack, Beetle tackled the Metallo that was following them.

Siren faced the rest of the battle, taking deep breaths. His siren song, the power he's hated since he found out he hated. The ability to take away a person's free will. Obsidian Siren used her song of corruption to infect the Isle of Sirens during her rule, and there was no way that Gold Siren was gonna be anything like her. But this was not the same. His song, of emotion and heart, is gonna be a force for good. And if robots don't understand one thing, it's emotions.

"Every day I sit with you talking about nothing
Watch the game and watch it for you your team
Laughs at all your jokes even when they're not funny
Cause all I want to know is that you care"

"And he can't seem to take his armor off
And he's fighting against his own self
What do I do? What if I lose this game of tug of war?"

Siren's voice unleashed gold sound waves over the land, and it was like all the battles just froze. Robots stopped what they were doing, some even starting to twitch. The students looked up, at the golden sound waves, feeling the magic in the music.

Melinda and Artemis, however, didn't stop their fight. But Melinda did smile at the sound of her friend's magical voice. She felt the power, but also the love.

"All I want to know is how do you feel when you're with her
When she cracks a smile does it light up your world?
How do you do feel when it's all said and done?
Are you in love with her even though you can't see?
How do you feel?
How do you feel?"

"I don't need your name I don't want your money
All I want to be is part of your dreams
I don't need no extra all I want is love
Please open up and listen to me"

"And he can't seem to take his armor off
And he's fighting against his own self
What do I do? What if I lose this game of tug of war?"

The robots then all started to malfunction. They sparked with gold energy, the song as if infecting them with a virus. The students all backed away, not wanting to be near the upcoming fireworks.

"All I want to know is how do you feel when you're with her
When she cracks a smile does it light up your world?
How do you feel when it's all said and done?
Are you in love with her even though you can't see?
How do you feel?"

"How do you feel? When you're with her
How do you feel? (Ahhh) (Uhh Uahhh)
All I wanna know is how do you feel when you're with her
When she cracks a smile does it light up your world?
How do you feel when it's all said and done?
Are you in love with her even though you can't see?
How do you feel (Oh Ahh) how do you feel?
(Oh Oh Oh My)"

The army of Metallo robots all robots exploded at once. The students all scattered, running away from the shattering ectoranium shards. Siren floated to the ground, Beetle then taking his hand.

"Eevie McKinney might not have wrote that sing for gay boys to sing it, but I do love it," White smiled.

Beetle couldn't help it. He kissed him right there on the battlefield.
