Awakening of Evil Part 1

I don't own Digimon or Yu-Gi-Oh

"Attention Battle City Finalists, with the completion of the opening duel there will now be a half an hour intermission. At the end of this intermission, all remaining finalists are instructed to report to the main concourse for the selection of the next Battle City Finals match up." Roland's voice came through the PA system in the blimp as it continued flying through the night sky.

"Okay, so we've got half an hour to try and convince Kaiba to land this thing and get Bakura some medical attention." Daisuke said as she along with Serenity, Yugi, Willis, Kari and the four Digimon stood in a hallway in the blimp searching for Kaiba's room.

"Right." Veemon and the other Digimon said standing beside their partners, the ding of the elevator made them all look down the hallway seeing the doors open as Mokuba and White Veemon stepped out.

"You guys this is a restricted area." White Veemon told them with a frown.

"Where's Kaiba, we need to talk to him." Daisuke said, walking over to the Digimon and Mokuba who stopped by a door.

"Well, that's his room," he said pointing to the door before he looked at the group. "But I don't think you should bother him. Especially after what you two argued about during the previous duel."

Daisuke frowned and walked over to the door and began banging her fist on it loudly. "Yeah, well the jerk should have stopped the duel when he saw what was going on, Bakura was in no shape to continue the duel. It's only by a miracle he's still alive right now." She spoke.

"Yeah, a miracle named Daisuke." Yugi said with a small smile. "Something tells me that your shouting at Bakura convinced the evil spirit inside him to take back control to protect him." Daisuke returned the smile as she continued banging her fist on the door.

"Open up rich boy, I know you're in there!" She shouted before the door slid open, she lowered her fist and crossed her arms glaring at Kaiba as he stood in the doorway looking at her.

"And what do you all want?" he asked with a cold glare.

"How does convincing you to land this blimp to get Bakura to the hospital sound?" Daisuke asked, grabbing him by his coat and dragging him into the room, her friends and Mokuba and White Veemon following her as she pushed Kaiba into a chair and he glared up at her.

"We can't make an unscheduled landing. You're asking me to do the impossible." He explained.

"Don't you understand? Bakura needs help!" Yugi told him.

"He's been unconscious since the end of the duel." Willis said.

"And if he gets any worse it'll be on your head." Veemon told Kaiba.

"That's a risk I'm willing to take." He replied.

"Please, Kaiba. This is important, show some compassion. Pretty please?" Serenity asked, holding her hands to her chest, she looked at Kaiba with wide doe like eyes filled with innocence and concern.

"He shouldn't have left the hospital in the first place, this is Bakura's own doing." White Veemon said, crossing his arms as the Digimon glared at him.

"I guess your partner's stubbornness rubbed off on ya." Gatomon drawled as the white dragon ignored her.

"We're not landing, end of conversation." Kaiba said, standing up glaring at everyone before walking to the terminal in the room and pressing a button. "Send a medical team to Bakura's room ASAP."

"Good call Seto, KaibaCorp's doctors are more trained than at any other hospital." Mokuba said with a smile.

"Now that your friend is taken care of, all of you get out!" Kaiba ordered, the others sharing a look before leaving the room and the door hissed shut and the older male slumped back into his chair.

"Don't let them get to you Seto, they're just running on emotions right now." White Veemon reassured his partner. "We knew you wouldn't let Bakura go without help. Though we could have done without your girlfriend's attitude."

"She's not my girlfriend." Kaiba huffed, though his cheeks were tinged pink earning a giggle from his little brother.

Meanwhile Daisuke and Serenity walked back into Daisuke's room and Serenity saw her older sister sigh deeply on seeing Duke and Tristan standing there in the midst of an argument while Joey was reading a comic book, one that he had found with some headphones on his head drowning out the two older male's loud voices. "Oh Serenity, there you are. We've been worried." Duke said to Daisuke's sister with a charming smile, the male rushing over only to stop when Daisuke gave him a glare.

"My sister was with me, no way I'd let anything happen to her while I'm around." She told him.

"We know, but maybe next time we go with ya. Just to be safe." Duke replied while smiling over at Serenity who was shyly hiding behind Daisuke who grabbed Duke by his shirt.

"I think it's time you two go and find your own room." She said, throwing Duke out of the room before pushing Tristan less roughly out of the room before she followed and shut the door and glaring at them both, her glare mostly fixed on Duke.

"Your constant arguing over who gets to be with my sister is really starting to get on my nerves, she's not interested in either of you two right now. She just got her sight back, she is here to support me in the Battle City Finals, not have two horny teenagers compete for her affections. To be honest I hope she doesn't start having feelings for boys for a long time." She told them.

Both shared a look and Duke opened his mouth to say something, but Daisuke cut him off with a glare. "Not a word." She warned before going back into her room.

"Ya know, she has a point. We've definitely acted like jerks around her sister." Tristan told Duke before he walked off and the male huffed before following him with his arms crossed.

Inside the room, Daisuke sighed before she grabbed the phone on the wall and dialled a number. "Who're you calling sis?" Serenity asked.

"Papa, I wanna see if he has any info about the Egyptian God Cards, maybe Uncle Max told him about them when he created them." Daisuke answered, leaning against the wall she waited for her father to answer the phone.

"Hello, Hatori Wheeler speaking." Her father's voice came through and she smiled.

"Papa, it's me."

"Ah, Daisuke. How are you sweetie, aren't you taking part in the finals right about now?" her father asked as he sat in his office going over some things.

"Not for a few more minutes, we're in an intermission right now. I wanted to ask you something, is Uncle Max out of the hospital yet?" Daisuke asked softly.

"Hm, he was discharged yesterday morning. I had been meaning to let you know, but well you were busy with all your dueling." Hatori answered with a smile.

"Okay, good. When you see him, could you ask him if he knows anything about the Egyptian God Cards?" Daisuke asked and she could hear her father take a sharp breath and go silent for a moment. "Um papa?"

"Hm, oh sorry sweetie almost spilled my coffee. I'll be sure to ask him later, he's probably resting at the moment. I've got to go, let me know how the finals go." Her father said before he hung up making her blink.

"That was odd." She muttered before putting the phone back just as the PA system in the blimp came on.

"Attention finalists and guests, please report to the main concourse for the second match of the Battle City Finals, this is your two-minute warning." Roland's voice came through.

"Well, time to get going." Daisuke said, walking over to her brother she nudged him, and he blinked removing the headphones. "Come on bro, time for the next duel."

"Awesome, let's go!" he cheered, making both his sisters giggle and they left the room.

A short while later, they along with the rest of the finalists and the others were in the main concourse with Roland standing beside the bingo machine with the remaining six numbers. "Thank you all for coming, now the time has come for the second match of the Battle City Finals." He spoke.

"And now the random selector will pick two more numbers." Mokuba told them. The bingo machine whirred to life throwing the balls around the glass sphere. "Everyone had better remember their number." He told the finalists.

The first ball flew into the dragon's mouth before it rolled out of the left dragon head into the bucket. "And the first duelist of the second match is, duelist number 2: Daisuke Wheeler." Roland said.

"How exciting, you're going to duel next." Serenity said hugging Daisuke who grinned.

"Yeah, time for me to kick some major butt." She replied, watching the remaining balls closely before the second one fell into the dragon's mouth and rolled out the right dragon head.

"Duelist number 7: Marik Ishtar." Roland said making everyone in the room tense up except Marik who smirked over at Odion who everyone believed to be him.

"Alright, time for me to make you pay for what you did to me and my friends earlier at the pier you creep." Daisuke broke the silence, glaring at Odion who looked away from her before he and Daisuke followed Roland to the elevator that would take them up to the duel arena.

"Daisuke better be careful." Yugi said softly. "Against Marik who knows what he'll try to pull during the duel.

"Well let's go up there to make sure he doesn't try anything." Veemon said as everyone headed off to the elevators to reach the arena on the top of the blimp while Ishizu turned and headed back to her room, her Millennium Necklace glowing faintly as she did so.

"Stay strong Daisuke, the trials ahead shall be difficult." She thought.

Soon, Daisuke and Odion along with Roland were on the duel arena as it began raising into the air. "Duelists, exchange your decks and shuffle them." He instructed.

Odion lowered the hood of his cloak revealing a long ponytail and the left side of his face covered in tattoos that resembled Egyptian hieroglyphs. He walked towards the centre of the duel platform as did Daisuke and both took their decks out of their duel disks.

Daisuke took Odion's deck while handing him hers and both began shuffling the cards, neither taking their eyes of the other the entire time as the others reached the arena and stood around the arena with Kaiba, Mokuba and White Veemon standing on the opposite side to the others like before.

"Come on Dai, teach this jerk a lesson." Joey shouted with a grin.

"Yeah, show him what dueling is all about." Tristan added.

Daisuke finished shuffling Odion's deck and handed it back to him while taking back her own and both duelists walked to either end of the arena. Daisuke turned around and glared at Odion, before noticing the Millennium Rod in his hand. "How about you put that thing away and duel me without any tricks or trying to control my mind again?" She asked him.

"Very well." He said softly, putting away the Millennium Rod making Daisuke blink.

"Did he just say very well?" She thought, narrowing her eyes as she put her deck back into her duel disk.

"Listen to me Odion, if you can't defeat Wheeler here and now you will stand no chance against the Pharaoh. So, I hope you do not plan on disappointing me by losing." Marik's voice echoed in Odion's mind.

"I understand Master Marik, I pledge my loyalty to you, and I shall destroy this pathetic opponent." He replied mentally.

"Let's do this!" Daisuke shouted as she activated her duel disk. "Time to duel!"

"And prepare to be destroyed." Odion said, activating his own duel disk as both their life-points climbed to 4000.

"If Marik's the leader of those Rare Hunters like we believe, he must have all sorts of dangerous and rare cards." White Veemon said.

"There's only one card in his deck I'm worried about, his Egyptian God Card, The Winged Dragon of Ra. Let's hope Daisuke's a good enough duelist to last long enough for me to learn about its strengths and weaknesses."

"I'll begin this duel." Daisuke said, she drew a card and looked at her hand and smiled. "I summon Gearfried the Iron Knight in Attack mode!"

"Oh, that's the monster she used to defeat Weevil Underwood." Kari said with a smile as the armoured knight appeared in front of Daisuke.

"There's more than that came from, now I end my turn. So, make your move." Daisuke told Odion who drew his next card.

"I play Temple of the Kings, a card like none you've ever seen." He said, placing the card in the Field spell slot on the duel disk and the entire arena began shaking as a giant stone temple rose out of the ground behind Odion.

"What's the deal with that building, Marik?" Daisuke asked. She looked at the temple seeing it lit with torches, covered in ancient hieroglyphs and at the top of the stairs leading to the temple behind Odion, rested a large stone sarcophagus that no doubt held something dangerous inside.

"Behind me is the ancient Temple of the Kings, within these ancient walls lie the greatest treasures of the Kings of Egypt." Odion told her.

"And what does this temple do?"

"To protect the king's treasure, it limits the number of magic and trap cards you can play in one turn." Odion answered.

"That's not good." Daisuke muttered.

"And to further protect the temple, I set two cards face down and this move shall end my turn. So, make your move, but be warned that you have no idea what dangers lie within these temple walls." Odion continued, two face down cards appearing in front of him as he set them in his duel disc.

"He didn't summon a monster and already this looks bad." Tea said in worry.

"Attack his life-points, Dai!" Tristan shouted.

"That's not a good idea. Did ya not notice the two face down cards, it's obvious Marik wants big sis to attack so he can put a hurting on her life-points." Joey told the older male.

"Good point squirt." He replied with a small smile.

Daisuke was looking at the cards in her hand and rubbed her chin. "Okay, Giant Trunade, Scapegoat, Graverobber, Apple Magician Girl and Apprentice Mage of Twilight, not a bad hand. With Giant Trunade I can blow away his Temple of the Kings and his face down cards, leaving him open to an all-out assault and I'll win this duel no problem." She thought.

"What's the delay? Don't you realise no matter what you do, you're finished Miss Wheeler?" Odion asked her.

"Okay, if I am going to pull this plan off, I'll need to be careful. Marik is the leader of the Rare Hunters after all, no doubt he has got a bunch of rare and dangerous cards in his deck. But I won't give him the opportunity to use them." She thought.

She then drew her next card and smiled. "I summon Red Eyes Baby Dragon in Attack mode." Her dragon appeared beside Gearfried and growled at Odion lowly. "And that'll be it for me this turn."

"Daisuke's gotta attack some time." Tristan said.

"I'm sure big sis has a plan to win this thing." Serenity said softly, holding her hands close to her chest as Odion made his move.

"Observe you fool. I place two cards face down on the field, and now my move is complete." Odion said as two more face down cards appeared on his side of the field.

"Four face down cards. That spineless snake is going to sit back and wait for Dai to attack, when she does, he will activate them. It's the oldest and wimpiest trick in the book." Mai said with a hint of disgust in her voice.

Daisuke drew her next card and took a deep breath; it was now or never. The entire duel was resting on her next move. "I summon Apple Magician Girl in Attack mode." Her magician appeared on the field in a flash of red light. "And now it is time to end this duel, I now play the magic card Giant Trunade. This magic card will send all of the magic and trap cards on the field back to your hand, so say goodbye to your defences."

"Yes, nothing will stop her attacking Marik's life-points now." Mai said with a grin, the giant twister appeared on the field and travelled towards Odion's side of the field, but as it reached his face down cards, it began to dissipate.

"What's going on, why is my magic card not working?" Daisuke whispered watching as the twister finally vanished from the field.

"Unfortunately for you Miss Wheeler, you made a predictable and deadly mistake." Odion said and she glared as he continued. "For you see, I knew that if I set so many face down cards you would be hesitant to attack my life-points. I also anticipated you would try to destroy them with a magic card, but in doing so you've activated one of the deadliest trap cards in the entire game."

"A counter trap card that destroys magic cards?" Daisuke asked.

"That's correct, but it does much more than that. It also will devastate your monsters and a large portion of your life-points away, so prepare to feel its wrath. Go Judgement of Anubis!" Odion shouted, activating one of his face down cards.

A large cloud of thick purple smoke appeared in the air above the field. "Never have you faced a trap card with such destructive force as this, Judgement of Anubis will now destroy your monsters and also inflict damage to your life-points equal to half of their combined Attack points."

"So, 1800 Attack points from Gearfried, 1200 from both Apple Magician Girl and Red Eyes Baby Dragon, divide that by two is…" Willis muttered running over the numbers before he gasped. "That's 2100 life-points she's going to lose."

The purple smoke formed into the shape of a fierce looking dog's head that bared its fangs and let out a demonic roar, the purple smoke turning into spears and striking Daisuke's three monsters before a larger spear of smoke struck Daisuke through the chest and she fell to one knee her entire body shivering from the feeling as her life-points dropped all the way down to 1900.

"You should have never built such a strong army of monsters without considering the fact I had just the cards to stop whatever you had planned Miss Wheeler, and your agony has only just begun." Odion told her.

"By thinking she had the upper hand, she played right into Marik's trap." Kari said.

"Come on Dai, you can do this. Kick that freaks butt into next week!" Joey shouted.

"Have you given up, or do you want more punishment, Miss Wheeler?" Odion asked coldly. Daisuke grinned slightly; her hair covered her eyes before she forced herself back to her feet.

"Oh, I'm just getting warmed up. If you think I'm giving in just because of your fancy little trap card you need to get your head examined. I've been in worse situations then this before, believe me when I tell ya, it takes a hell of a lot more to put Daisuke Wheeler down for the count."

"So be it." Odion replied, making his next move. "I set two more cards face down, and I end my turn." He said as two more face down cards appeared in front of him.

"Hey, this is called Duel Monsters not hide behind trap cards. Play the game how it's meant to be played!" Joey shouted up to Odion who glared down at the boy.

"If you can find me the rule that says I can't pay face down cards then I'll stop but until then, be silent child."

"Oh, you've done it now. Nobody threatens my little brother and gets away without a good ass kicking." Daisuke shouted, drawing her next card she nodded. "I summon Alligator Sword in attack mode!"

Her monster appeared on the field brandishing its sword ready for battle as Daisuke considered her options. "If I attack now, Marik's bound to use a trap card against me. I can't afford anymore life-points to be lost otherwise I'm history." She thought.

"So? Are you going to show me how this game is played? Go on." Odion taunted, making her grit her teeth.

"I set one card face down to end my turn. You're lucky this time." She said, a card appearing face down in front of her.

"Lucky? I would call it you're getting cold feet. Unable to cope with the pressure of failing Miss Wheeler?" Odion asked her.

"Just make your move!" She snapped in reply.

"Actually, I choose to end my turn without making any moves." Odion said after drawing his card and Daisuke grit her teeth.

"Skipping his turn, that no good…" She mentally growled before she drew her next card. "Two can play at your little game Marik, I pass my turn also."

"Perhaps now I'll draw a card worth using." Odion said, drawing his next card and looking at it. "No, this won't do at all. I pass my turn again."

"This is getting out of hand. Daisuke looks ready to blow a gasket." Mokuba said to his older brother, noticing the girl's face was turning red and her eyebrow twitching dangerously.

"So what? Let her get her emotions out of control, I'm not the boss of her." He replied. "If Wheeler wants to make amateur moves and let the pressure of dueling get to her against Marik, who am I to step in and stop her from cracking like an egg?"

"Alright that tears it." Daisuke growled to Odion. "You're asking for this."

"Hey Dai calm down, you're going to play into Marik's trap again." Willis called up to his friend.

"Yeah, you need to chill out before you pop a blood vessel. Momentai." Terriermon chirped sitting on Willis' shoulder waving his ears at the girl who ignored him.

Daisuke drew her next card and smirked. "I summon Rocket Warrior to the field in Attack mode." She said, her monster appearing on the field. "I didn't come here to watch the finals; I came here to win. It doesn't matter how many trap cards you've got on the field; I'll smash through them all to take you down. Rocket Warrior, transform into invincible mode and attack his life-points directly!"

Rocket Warrior transformed into its rocket mode and shot towards Odion. "Daisuke this is a big mistake!" Yugi shouted.

"Activate Trap Card." Odion said as Rocket Warrior dove towards him. "Eye of Ujat!" one of his face down cards activated flipping up and a wave of energy struck Rocket Warrior with an eye like symbol forming on its casing. "Now that the Eye of Ujat has appeared on your monster it is now under my control. I shall now redirect its attack to one of your monsters, Rocket Warrior attack her Alligator Sword!"

Rocket Warrior spun around and flew towards Alligator Sword. "I don't think that's gonna work because I play my face down card. Fairy Box!" The giant box appeared on the field and Alligator Sword dove into one of the holes.

"She played a trap card to hide her monster?" Odion thought watching as Rocket Warrior circled the Fairy Box.

"Thanks to Fairy Box, Rocket Warrior's flight plan has been delayed. Care to try again?" Daisuke asked with a smirk, Alligator Sword stuck his head out of one hole and stuck his tongue out at Odion.

"Rocket Warrior attack now!" Odion ordered, Rocket Warrior flew down to the hole as Alligator Sword ducked back inside the Fairy Box just before Rocket Warrior hit the hole. "So much for…" he stopped when Alligator Sword popped his head out of another hole as Rocket Warrior emerged from the Fairy Box. "I missed?"

"Looks like you haven't been to the arcade in a while." Daisuke replied with a smirk. "I'm on to your game, Marik. You've overloaded your deck with Trap cards meaning the likelihood of you summoning a monster in this duel is slim to none. It's only a matter of time until you run out of ways to defend yourself."

Odion scoffed. "I may have many trap cards in my deck, but I hold a rare trap card that is both a trap and a monster card." He explained.

"I think you're gonna have to repeat that. Did you just say you have a trap card that is also a monster card?" Daisuke asked.

"Is there such a card?" Yugi asked.

"Well, I've never heard of it." Mai answered both sharing a concerned expression.

"Behold what is known as a trap monster, a rare and powerful card that you've activated due to your Rocket Warrior's attack. Come forth Embodiment of Apophis." Odion said, one of his face down cards flipping up as purple smoke began to stream from the card. "And you've not only activated one of my trap monsters, but in fact you've activated three. Come forth my beasts!"

"This isn't good." Daisuke whispered, the other two face down cards flipping up before the purple smoke streaming from the cards formed into three identical monsters. They were large snake-like beings with a long snake lower body, two slender arms holding a curved sword and a shield, armour around their shoulders and neck and from their backs curled large snake like heads.

"Whoa, this isn't good." Mokuba said.

"Yeah, all three of them have 1600 Attack points." White Veemon said.

"I must say I'm impressed." Kaiba said.

"Prepare to lose it all Miss Wheeler, your judgement has arrived." Odion said.

"I've gotta find a way to squash these snakes or I'm through." Daisuke thought in worry as the three trap monsters hissed angrily at her.
