"Chloe, as exciting as I'm sure you think this is, it isn't." Ash said.
The two had agreed to split the day up, and Chloe was having them go on a cultural tour of Lumiose City. They were currently on an audio tour of the museum. Well Chloe was at least. Staring at his phone, Ash looked at his World Coronation number. He needed a strong opponent to boost his number fast, maybe if he just looked really quick.
"I don't think it's very polite looking for a challenger in a museum." A woman's voice said.
"Oh, sorry. My friend wanted to do this cultural tour, and I just thought I'd look real quick if any opponents were nearby." Ash apologized.
"We'll let me help you." The woman said, pulling out her own Rotom Phone. "I'll be your challenger."
Ash looked down at his phone. "207! That's incredible!" Ash said astonished.
"Well it helps I'm one of Kalos's elite four members. My name is Drasna." Drasna said extending her hand.
"I'm Ash, from Pallet Town." Ash said introducing himself.
"Come on, I know a place we can safely battle." Drasna said standing up.
Ash followed her down a corridor up some stairs, and then down a few flights to an underground battle arena.
"I find that this place is best suited for my Pokémon. How does a three on three sound?" Drasna asked.
"Fine by me. I'm ready whenever you are." Ash said readying a pokeball.
"Altaria come on out."
"Sirfetch'd I choose you!"
Ash was amazed at the dragon type before him.
"Sirfetch'd use Leaf Blade!"
"Altaria use Cotton Guard."
Sirfetch'd's attack was mostly absorbed by Altaria's defenses, before it struck back.
"Now Altaria use Moonblast."
"Sirfetch'd block it with your shield!"
Sirfetch'd was hit hard, but pulled through.
"Now use Meteor Strike!"
"Altaria use Sing."
Sirfetch'd fell to the ground fast asleep, right in front of it's target.
"Altaria, finish them off with Dragon Pulse."
Ash was helpless but to watch as his first Pokémon of the match went down, having barely hit its opponent.
"Alright then, Dracovish come on out!"
"Altaria use Dragon Pulse.
"Dracovish use Ancient Power!"
The rocks blocked the oncoming attack as Dracovish sped forward.
"Now use Ice Fang!"
"Altaria use Cotton Guard."
Dracovish, despite having less experience hit its opponents and didn't let go. Altaria was stuck. Their opponent to close for attacks, and holding them tightly.
"Use Ice Fang again!"
"Altaria use Cotton Guard."
It was no use as the attack knocked out Altaria, bringing the battle back to an even point.
"Quite the dragon you have there, unfortunately for you, you're dealing with a dragon master." Drasna said readying her second pokeball. "Come on out Noivern!"
"Dracovish use Ice Fang!"
"Noivern use Dragon Pulse!"
Dracovish didn't even get close as it was blasted back into a wall.
Meanwhile
Chloe had finished the audio tour, and went looking for Ash. He had dissappeared, or maybe just got sidetracked. Going outside she saw him on one of the big screens around the city. In the middle of a battle.
"Dracovish use Water Gun!"
"Noivern use Flamethrower."
The two attacks collided, neither side giving an inch, until the flames overpowered Dracovish's attack.
"Now Noivern use Dragon Pulse."
That attack did it, as Ash was now down to his last Pokémon.
"Dracovish return!" Ash recalled his Pokémon.
"Pika!" Pikachu exclaimed ready to fight.
"Not this time buddy, we need to think a bit more agile than you for this." Ash said holding up his third pokeball. "Sceptile I choose you!"
The grass type entered the arena, raring to go.
"Noivern use Air Slash."
"Sceptile dodge it and use Leaf Blade!"
Sceptile jumped out of the way of the attack, striking its opponent directly.
"Now use Dual Chop!"
"Noivern use Super Fang."
Sceptile was hit hard, but landed both hits on Noivern as they went spiraling downwards.
"Now Sceptile use Leaf Blade!"
"Noivern use Dragon Pulse."
Sceptile wasn't using the leaf blade for damage, as the attack loosened Noivern's grip, allowing Sceptile to jump away before they crashed.
"Now use Dual Chop, one more time!" Ash said.
Sceptile ran in taking out his opponent.
"You're a good trainer, but good won't be enough to defeat me." Drasna said, pulling out her final Pokémon. "Druddigon I need your assistance."
"You ready Sceptile!" Ash said holding up his mega ring. "Let's show them that we're more than just good!"
Around Lumiose Ash's friends watched in shock.
"Clemont look Ash is mega evolving!" Bonnie exclaimed.
"Remarkable." Clemont remarked, Ash never ceased to surprise him.
"All my research, and I never thought I'd see him using it." Professor Sycamore said from his lab.
"You go Ash." Alexa said from her station.
"Well I'll be, he finally did it." Alain remarked from the street.
"Mega evolution, power beyond normal standards." Chloe said in shock and awe.
"Sceptile use Slam!"
"Druddigon stop them with Retaliate."
Even with mega evolution, Sceptile was still hurt from his last fight, Druddigon was on the winning side.
"Sceptile use Dual Chop!"
"Druddigon use Dragon Tail."
Sceptile landed a hit before being swatted away.
"The dragon type is remarkable. You have to know what you're doing to fight them properly, and other Dragons aren't always the answer." Drasna said.
"We'll do just fine, Sceptile use Slam!"
"Druddigon use Chip Away."
The final collision was to much, as Sceptile was thrown into a wall. The mega energy surrounding it dissipating.
"Sceptile!" Ash yelled running to his Pokémon.
"You did well, you have great makings as a trainer. I believe this won't be our last match." Drasna said helping Ash with Sceptile.
"You can count on it. Next time, I won't lose." Ash said energetically. He didn't need to look at his phone, to him this battle was a win. He just went toe to toe with a member of the elite four, and almost won!
"Ash are you doing okay?" Chloe asked, rushing up to him.
"I'm fine, feeling good, and ready for the next fight!" Ash said pumped.
"Glad to hear that." Alain said approaching.
"Alain! Long time no see!" Ash said greeting his rival.
"I'm impressed Ash, I fought half of Kalos's elite four in my effort to become the strongest Mega Evolution duo, and never came that close." Alain said.
"It was a good battle wasn't it?" Ash gloated.
"Not just good, great. Next time we meet, I expect a rematch with you and that Sceptile of course." Alain offered.
"You've got a deal." Ash said.
