A/N: Thank you, Cyan-Snake, for your suggestion that Reginald should ask James if he knows what his son's name is.
Chapter 79
"Marlene sprang to her feet. "I need my husband at home! Suppose I go into labor tonight? You're just on the side of those rotten Snape's! This isn't even a fair trial!"
Overgood lowered his eyebrows at Wiggenworf, "Please get your client under control, Mr. Wiggenworf, before I am forced to find her overnight accommodations in the Ministry cells also."
Wiggenworf tugged on Marlene's arm, whispering frantically and finally got her to sit down again. He rose. "I apologize for my client, Your Honor, but she is a bit overly emotional right now. I'm sure she didn't mean what she said."
The bailiff walked past with James in hand and escorted him over to the two officers of the Court who waited silently. They each took one of his arms and escorted him out of the courtroom.
Overgood banged his gavel and said, "Court is dismissed and will resume at nine o'clock tomorrow."
Severus, Lily, Petunia, Hal, Rose and Reginald left the courtroom and stood outside talking. "Well, I certainly wasn't expecting that," Rose said. "I thought Potter would have at least enough brains to know Judge Overgood is serious."
"I think it's so ingrained in him, he can't stop doing it," Petunia replied.
"I agree with you," Severus said, nodding at Petunia.
Marlene and Wiggenworf walked out of the courtroom just then. He was talking to her softly and patting her hand when Marlene spotted Severus, broke away from Wiggenworf and flew at him. "This is all your fault, Snivellus! You're just a rotten, evil Death Eater! Somebody should put a stake right through your heart!" She screeched.
Severus ducked and grabbed hold of her arm, trying to avoid having his eyes scratched out by her long fingernails. "Potter was warned by the judge what would happen, but he chose to ignore it anyway!"
Lily and Petunia grabbed Marlene and pulled her away from Severus. "Consider yourself lucky I don't stun you!" Lily snapped.
"Mr. Wiggenworf, you better take her back to Potter Manor," Reginald said angrily. "Before I call Magical Law Enforcement and have her arrested."
Wiggenworf took Marlene's arm. "Come, Lady Potter. I'll take you home and the elves can prepare a nice hot cup of chamomile tea for you," he said soothingly.
"I don't want tea, I want James!" She turned around and spat at them, "I hope when You-Know-Who does return, he wipes out your entire family first thing!"
As they disappeared into the floo, Hal shook his head. "My God! What a dreadful person she is!"
"They're a matched pair because they're both dreadful, Dad," Petunia said.
Rose shook her head. "The entire family appears to be concerned only about their legacy."
Petunia laughed. "And there won't be much of that left after this trial is finished."

James sat in his cell, looking glum. He still couldn't believe that Overgood, a former Auror, had ordered him arrested and thrown in the Ministry's cells like a common criminal! He looked up hopefully as he heard the sound of the door that led to the cell area, being unlocked and footsteps and then Wiggenworf appeared in front of his cell.
James grabbed up his outside cloak. "It's about time you got here!"
"I'm not here to release you, Lord Potter," Wiggenworf replied.
James dropped his cloak. "Why are you here then?"
"I wanted to assure you that I escorted Lady Potter safely back to Potter Manor and she was resting comfortably when I left."
"And I'm stuck in here for the entire night rather than being home," James whined.
Wiggenworf sighed. "May I remind you, Lord Potter, that Judge Overgood gave you a warning and you ignored it so this is your consequence. And no, I cannot get you released until tomorrow morning, Judge Overgood was quite explicit about it."
James plopped down on the cell cot in dejection. "Snape must have cursed Overgood otherwise he'd never act this way towards another Auror. He does all his curses non-verbally, you know?"
"I will remind you again if you do not wish to spend another night in this cell, you will need to watch closely what you are saying in your testimony tomorrow."
"I was telling the truth!" James huffed.
"I mean the name calling, Lord Potter. Judge Overgood has already indicated he has no patience with that kind of behavior."

Tita served a roast for dinner along with two kinds of vegetables, mashed potatoes, and freshly baked rolls that evening.
"How did school go today?" Severus asked as he was slicing the roast. He had just finished floo calling his mum and Robert a half-hour before to tell them how the hearing was going although they were also hearing about it from Hal and Rose. He put a slice of meat on each plate and then passed the plates to Lily who filled them from the bowls on the table then passed them to Harmony, Harry, and Jamie. They didn't talk about the lawsuit in front of the children.
"We learned about the Muggle King, Henry the Eighth," Harry replied. "And I told them about the land that Henry had given to Sir Edmond and how he built Witches Moon on it."
"Mrs. Patel said that King Henry had six wives, too!" Jamie exclaimed.
"People didn't live a very long time then," Lily explained. "And they often died at a young age from what we would consider a minor infection now or in epidemics so he could have easily have had six wives." She wasn't about to tell them that Henry had chopped off two of his wives' heads and would have likely chopped off the sixth's if he hadn't died before her.
"Harmony's helping with some of the younger kids," Harry said.
Harmony nodded. "Mrs. Patel didn't want me getting bored so she asked if I'd like to help some of the other teachers and I told her I would."
Severus smiled. "That's good practice for Hogwarts if you're a Prefect because you'll be dealing with first years and they're always in awe of everything. Your mother and I were Prefects fifth and sixth years and then head girl and boy our seventh year."
"What does a Prefect do, Dad?" Harmony asked.
"Well, the two years I was a Prefect, I did a lot of tutoring, mostly in potions and defense. In fact, I tutored your Uncle Liam in Potions when he was a sixth year and then when he saw your aunt in Flourish & Blotts, he asked me if I knew her and could I introduce him."
Lily smiled at the memory. "They were crazy about each other right from the first moment they met."
"Other than tutoring, it's mainly watching out for the younger children, making sure they aren't being bullied by their housemates or kids from other houses, talking to them if they're shy or homesick, or bringing whatever problems they might be having to the attention of your head of house if it's something you feel it is more in their providence."
"So, it's kind of like I do with Harry and Jamie now?" Harmony asked.
"Yes," Lily replied. "But you're allowed to take points as a disciplinary measure."
"Does the headmaster decide who gets to be a prefect or do the heads of the house decide?"
"They're chosen by their heads of house, but the headmaster does have to approve them. In order to be chosen, students have to have Exceeds or Outstanding scores in their previous four years and never had detention or any other disciplinary problems," Severus answered.
Harmony laughed. "I guess we all have big shoes to fill at Hogwarts."
"Just do your best and be happy is all we require," Lily said, giving her a hug.

The next morning the bailiff unlocked James' cell at 8:30. James stepped out with his hand out first thing. "Can I have my wand back so I can clean up a bit. I don't want to look or smell like Snape."
The bailiff handed him his wand and waited while James cast a Freshening Spell over himself and then a Wrinkle Removing Spell over his Auror uniform.
"Your barrister and Lady Potter are waiting for you outside of the courtroom," the bailiff informed him.
When Marlene spotted him, she rushed over to him and threw her arms around him as if she hadn't seen him for ten years and exclaimed dramatically, "James! I was so worried!"
"I'm fine. Let's just get in there and get this over with," James replied.
They walked in and saw that Severus, Lily, Rose, Hal, and Petunia were already there. Marlene sent a nasty look at them as she passed. "I can't wait to see them lose this! It will be such a pleasure to see the expressions on their faces!" Marlene whispered to James.
James grinned. "And after that, we can sue them and take every last Galleon, Sickle, and Knut they have and get the Boy-Who-Lived back."
They sat down. Wiggenworf frowned, having overheard James' comment. If the Potter's were planning to counter-sue the Princes, he wanted no part of it. The firm of Wiggenworf and Tiffentoller would have nothing more to do with lawsuits filed by the current Potter's. If Barrister Tiffentoller decided he wanted to represent them as a single barrister and not connected to the firm, then that was fine with him.
"All rise for the Honorable Justice Overgood," the bailiff announced.
Overgood seated himself and tapped his gavel on the sound block and then said, "Court is now in session. You may be seated. Bailiff, continue where we left off yesterday."
The bailiff stood and said, "The Court calls Lord Potter to the stand."
James strutted up to the witness box and seated himself. Judge Overgood looked down at him and said, "Lord Potter, the oath you swore yesterday is still in effect as is the warning I gave you and should you ignore that warning, you will find yourself spending another night again in a Ministry cell."
"Yes, Your Honor," James replied, attempting to look contrite.
"Mr. Winchester, you may resume questioning Lord Potter."
"Thank you, Your Honor," Reginald replied, standing up and walking towards the witness stand. "Lord Potter, do you know what your former son's name is?"
James looked around the courtroom with an expression that clearly revealed he thought Reginald had gone completely bonkers then snapped, "Of course!"
"In your testimony, you have only referred to him as the 'Boy-Who-Lived' so I have to wonder if you know what his birth name is."
"He is the Boy-Who-Lived and he saved the Wizarding World from You-Know-Who and he's going to be the one who saves it again," James said smugly. "People shouldn't be allowed to forget that!"
"But you still have not told me what his name is."
"Everybody knows him as the 'Boy-Who-Lives so his actual name doesn't matter," James replied with a shrug. "He going to remembered for saving the Wizarding World twice from You-Know-Who and people won't care what his name is. Even on his Chocolate Frog Card, it'll be the 'Boy-Who-Lived."
"Lord Potter, do you know a wizard named Alastor Gumboil?"
James sat up straight in his chair. "I met him once. He's a Hit Wizard and a damn good one if his kill record is any indication."
"Did you offer Mr. Gumboil a bribe to kill Lord Prince?"
So what if I did? The fact he even exists is offensive and he should have been sent to Azkaban a long time ago so decent people could feel safe!"
"No more questions, Your Honor," Reginald said.
Overgood looked at Wiggenworf and asked, "Do you have any rebuttal questions for Lord Potter or any other witnesses or evidence you would like to bring to the Court's attention?"
"No, Your Honor," Wiggenworf replied.
"Then I consider this lawsuit trial completed and I will render my verdict in three days," Overgood said. He tapped his mallet on the sound block. "Court is dismissed and will resume in three days for the reading of the verdict."
Severus, Lily, Hal, Rose and Petunia watched as the Potter's left the courtroom smiling and talking animatedly.
"I think those fools actually think they won," Petunia said in disbelief.
"Potter obviously doesn't realize he blew his case to smithereens with that last remark," Hal said.
"He's always been too arrogant to get out of his own way," Severus replied.
"Well, I'm looking forward to seeing the expressions on his and Marlene's faces when they lose," Lily said. "It will be almost as good as seeing Potter's expression at graduation when he found out we were married."
Severus chuckled. "I don't know if anything can top that!"

James was bragging the next morning to any of the Aurors who would listen, how he beat the pants off of the Snape's and how he was then going to sue them for every Galleon in their vaults and get back the Boy-Who-Lived.
Sirius looked up from the scroll he was reading with an irritated look. Ned Crockford, whose desk was back to back with Sirius', was studying a scroll and had his feet parked up on the corner of his desk which was his usual disposition. "Merlin! What an asshat Potter is!"
Sirius grinned. "Been over to your parent's house again, watching the telly again, I see."
"Yeah, mum loves that thing and I always end up watching it with her," Ned admitted with a grin.
"I told you Reg talked me into buying what the Muggles call a townhouse with him. Mr. Evans, Lily's dad, helped us with buying it. It's in a Muggle area so we have to be careful about doing any magic, but it has their electricity so instead of stumbling around trying to find the matches to light the lantern, all I do is flip a switch and the lights come on. We got one of those telly's, too, and I've gotten hooked on watching their football clubs," Sirius confessed.
Ned grinned. "Yeah, it really easy to get addicted to the Muggle's magic."
"You just wait until Snivellus makes a wrong move, he'll not only have not even one Knut left to his name after a lawsuit I'm going to file, suing him for trying to damage the Potter name, but he'll be enjoying a permanent view of the North Sea once I prove he's been a Death Eater since he entered Hogwarts!" James bragged.
"Don't think You-Know-Who takes eleven year-old's. Hard to get them to pay attention to your rants," one of the older Aurors said in a bored tone.
"We didn't even know Pettigrew was a Death Eater, Potter, you asshat!" Sirius yelled, borrowing Crockford's expression.
"He wasn't and shut your big mouth, Black!' James snarled back. "You should be in a cell at Azkaban right next to Snivellus!"
"Stuff it, Potter!" Frank yelled, "You're giving me a headache!"
"Merlin! If he doesn't shut up, I'm going to give him a pair of donkey ears!" Alice swore. Her partner, Griffin Greenwald, grinned and said, "And I'll add a tail!"
"I'll make it permanent!" Chea Diggory grumped. "Complete with braying."
Mad-Eye stumped out of his office. "Potter, don't you have work to do? If you don't, then I have a whole pile of scrolls on Death Eater sightings on my desk that need going through."
James dropped down into his chair behind his desk with a smirk. "Not even you can spoil my mood today, Mad-Eye."
Mad-Eye went back into his office then came out again with an armful of scrolls that he dumped on James' desk. "Glad to hear it, Potter."

Severus stopped at Eileen's office before he went to work. Tomorrow, was the day Judge Overgood would announce his decision.
Eileen was sitting behind her desk doing her required paperwork. She preferred to get it done early in the week so she could brew during the rest of the week. She gave Severus a hug and a kiss and he sat down on the corner of her desk. "I want you to know that both Robert and I will be in court to tomorrow."
That's great, Mum. I'll have to send Uncle Timaeus an owl afterwards, too, to let him know what the verdict is."
"Well, from what I've heard, Sev, it will definitely be in your favor, I'm sure."
Severus chuckled. "I think Potter pretty much blew his his side of things out of the water with that very last statement he made to Reginald."
"I'm just thankful everyday that Jamie is no longer the Potter's child," Eileen stated.
"Lily and me, too, Mum."

The next morning, after taking the children to school, Severus and Lily arrived at Ministry early and took the lift and waited outside the courtroom. As soon as the bailiff unlocked the door, they went in and sat down. Severus noticed an official from Magical Law Enforcement had slipped in and sat down in the very back of the courtroom. He nudged Lily and nodded. "I wonder what he's doing here?"
Lily looked over her shoulder. "I hope it isn't because they think the Potter's will get violent when they lose."
Soon the courtroom began to fill up. Rita Skeeter, with her camera man, came in and sat down. She wasn't going to miss getting the shocked expression of the losers on the front page of the Prophet. Eileen and Robert, Hal, Rose, Petunia and Liam came in and sat down behind Severus and Lily. Reg came in and sat down next to Hal and Rose. He grinned as he leaned forward and said to Severus and Lily, "Siri couldn't get away today, but he wants me to give him a full report especially the expression on the Potter's faces when Overgood rules against them."
Severus nodded. "Alice and Frank, Remus and Missy, and Amos and Chea want a full report, too." He chuckled. "Chea told me Potter was bragging in the office the other day how he was going to beat the pants off me."
Lucius and Narcissa walked in, but seated themselves quietly in the back in the back.
Lord Reed came in, but also sat in the back of the courtroom. He'd been following the trial in the Prophet and had decided to attend the last day of the trial. He hoped the verdict would be in the Prince's favor.
Reginald walked and sat down next to Lily and Severus. "Are you ready?" He asked them. Lily nodded. "More than ready, Reginald."
A few minutes before nine, James and Marlene walked in with their barrister, Wiggenworf walked in behind them and sat down. Once again, James was wearing his Auror uniform. He smirked at Severus and Lily.
"All rise for the Honorable Justice Overgood," the bailiff called out.
Everybody rose as Overgood walked in and then seated himself behind his desk, tapped his gavel and said, "You may sit." He picked up a piece of parchment from his desk. "After reviewing all the testimony and evidence presented in the matter of Lord and Lady Prince versus Lord and Lady Potter, I rule in favor of the plaintiffs and order the defendants to pay them..."
James and Marlene both had horrified expressions on their faces as they imagined the entire Potter fortune going into Severus Snape's hands because he would surely demand nothing less!
"The amount of one Knaut," Overgood said. James and Marlene collapsed in relief. There was a rise of voices in the courtroom and Overgood tapped his gavel. "Order in the Court. Furthermore, I order Lord Potter to stop referring to Lord Prince as a Death Eater. This is clearly not true and will be considered as slanderous from here on in and subject to punishment by financial means."
Severus and Lily looked at each other, almost not being able to believe what they were hearing."
He looked at James. "In addition, having listened to the testimony of Madam Pomfrey about all the injuries you've caused Lord Prince during the time you were students at Hogwarts and the fact you've freely admitted to trying to bribe a Hit Wizard into killing Lord Prince, I am ordering you to stay 200 feet from Lord Prince, Lady Prince, their children, or any immediate family, including the Evans, the Saxon's, the Hollywell family, and also Lord Sylvester Reed. This also includes any future Hit Wizards you may try to bribe. You and Lady Potter are also forbidden to raise your wands towards any of them. If either of you do so, you will find yourself without wand privileges for a year. As you seem to feel your above the law and I suspect you will not obey my 200 feet restraint order, I am therefore ordering Magical Law Enforcement to cast a restraining spell on you. Should you violate the 200 feet restraint order, the spell will cause you to be thrown backwards. Lady Potter, because of your current condition, I will not order the spell cast on you at this time, but you are still under the same restrictions as your husband and if you should violate it, the consequences will be severe. I was made aware of your attack on Lord Prince three days ago." Overgood hit his gavel on the sound block and said, "Court is dismissed."
The MLE officer came over to James and Wiggenworf looked up at Overgood. "Can we do this somewhere private and spare my client the embarrassment of a public display?"
"You may use my chambers," Overgood replied, nodding at the MLE officer.
A few minutes later, James and the MLE officer came out again. He nodded at Overgood then left the courtroom. Severus and Lily waited outside the courtroom with their families. Lord Reed had also joined them. "Well, that was certainly a satisfactory outcome," he remarked.
The bailiff came out of the courtroom and handed a Knaut to Severus. "This is Lord Potter's payment of one Knaut."
"Thank you," Severus said to the bailiff who nodded and disappeared back into the courtroom. "I think I'll frame it," he joked.
Reg laughed. "Yeah, as the only Potter money you'll ever get!"
"We didn't ask for a restraining spell against the Potter's, did you put that in?" Lily asked Reginald.
Reginald shook his head. "I am assuming that was Overgood's idea. I noticed he seemed disturbed during Madam Pomfrey's testimony and then when Lord Potter acted as if trying to bribe a Hit Wizard to kill you was nothing, I think that may have been the final straw."
"I'm so glad he put the part in about the Hit Wizards, too, because I wouldn't put it past Potter to try that again. I'm going to write him a thank you letter as soon as we get home," Lily declared.
"I will, too," Eileen said. "This means also that the Potter's won't be able to grab Jamie. I'm certain they've been plotting some way to get him back."
Rose nodded. "As will I."
"Or harass any of us at who work at St. Mungo's if he should come in with an injured prisoner or be injured himself," Robert added.
"Thank God for Judge Overgood's foresight," Hal said.
"But I will miss having a chance to break Potter's conk again though," Petunia said, causing everybody to laugh. Liam smiled and squeezed her hand affectionately.
"Let's go home and I'll fix lunch," Rose said. She looked at Reginald and Lord Reed. "You are both invited also."
"I'll be glad to help you with it," Reg offered. "Now that Siri and I are sharing a place, he's ever so glad that you taught me how to cook."
"Well, if you and Sirius want to come over some time, I will be more than happy to teach him how to cook," Rose offered.
Reg chuckled. "Not sure you want Siri in your kitchen, Mrs E., he doesn't really understand Muggle appliances too well yet. Although, he does like watching football on the telly." He looked over his shoulder at Hal. "I'm trying to steer him towards Manchester United."
Hal grinned. "Good man!"
They all flooed back to the Evans home and Rose, with Reg's help, prepared a light lunch, and they discussed the trial.
"I am glad to see those Potters taken down a notch. The last two generations of Potter's have been arrogant fools and braggarts with no decorum at all!" Lord Reed stated.
"I wonder if Potter will have the guts to show his face at work tomorrow after all the bragging he's done about beating the pant's off you, Sev," Reg said.
Severus chuckled. "I'll have to remember to floo Frank and Alice when I get home tomorrow and find out. My guess is he won't."
"Don't forget to let Timaeus know the verdict," Eileen reminded Severus.
Reginald excused himself to get back to his office. He turned back to Severus and Lily. "And please let me know immediately if Lady Potter violates Judge Overgood's order."
Lily nodded and replied, "We'll do that."
Lord Reed also excused himself also, saying he would see Severus and Lily on Sunday when he came to pick up Harmony.
Severus and Lily stayed until it was time to pick up the kids from school and flooed home. Lily decided to take her car to pick up the kids. Severus sat in the passenger seat. He rolled down the window, enjoying the breeze. "You know, I don't think I've felt this lighthearted since I got my Hogwarts Letter."
"Well, it has been stressful always having to be on the lookout for those idiot Potter's," Lily replied.
They pulled up in front of Jatan and Severus got out of the car and went inside the school. He came out in a few minutes with the children in tow. He opened the door to the backseat and the children got in, placing their rucksacks on the floor. "Fasten your seat belts," Severus reminded them before he closed the door. He got back in the passenger seat.
"Did we win?" Harry wanted to know first thing. The children all knew this was the day the judge was going to render his decision.
"As a matter of fact, we did," Severus replied.
All three children cheered and Severus smiled and said, "There's more to it, but we can talk about it a dinner."
When they got home, the children got changed and then started their homework. The school did not believe in loading their students down with homework so it didn't take them long to complete it.
At dinner, after everybody had filled their plates, Jamie asked in a rather fearful tone, "You said in the car there was more to the trial. The judge didn't allow the Potter's to visit me, did he?"
Severus shook his head. "Absolutely not! What Judge Overgood did do is order the Potter's to stay 200 feet away from any of us, your grandparents, your aunt and uncle and cousins, and Lord Reed as well. He also said that he didn't trust Potter to obey his order so he ordered a Restraining Spell cast on him. If he comes closer than 200 feet, the spell will toss him backwards on his arse. The judge didn't cast the spell on Mrs. Potter because of her current condition, but he did warn her if she disobeyed his order, the consequences would be severe. He also ruled that neither of them could raise their wands against us either and they would lose their wand privileges if they did."
"So, they can't bother us when they see us in Diagon Alley or Hogsmeade," Harmony asked.
"Nor are they allowed to call your father a Death Eater in public anymore either. Judge Overgood ruled that there was no basis for it and therefore, it constitutes slander and there would be a financial restitution if he called your father that again," Lily said.
"Wow!" Harry exclaimed. "The Potter's not only lost, they lost big time!"
"Indeed they did," Severus said.
"I'm glad he included Grandpa with the people the Potter's have to stay away from," Harmony said. "Did you and mum ask the judge for that Restraining Spell?"
Severus shook her head. "We didn't. Your mum asked Mr. Winchester if he had asked the judge for it, but he said he thought it was the judge's idea because the judge suspected the Potter's wouldn't obey a verbal order to stay away from us."
"I'm glad they won't be able to bother any of us anymore anywhere," Jamie said.

James sat sulking at the dinner table that evening. He couldn't believe the judge, a retired Auror no less, had ruled against the leading Light family in favor of people known to be dark entities for centuries! "I can't believe Overgood ruled against us. Snape must have cursed him; he does all his spells non-verbal so Overgood wouldn't have known he was cursed."
"It wouldn't surprise me a bit! And that means the Boy-Who-Lived won't get the training he needs to defeat You-Know-Who when he goes to Hogwarts even if Dumbledore wants to do it. The Snape's want him to be weak and an easy target for You-Know-Who when he comes back, so he can't save the Wizarding World," Marlene said in a gloomy tone.
"I'm not going to go into work tomorrow," James decided. "We need to think this through and come up with a solution. Somebody has to make sure the Boy-Who-Lives saves the Wizarding World and it looks like it's going to have to be us that does it."
Marlene nodded and scoffed, "Do those idiots at the Ministry actually think that when You-Know-Who does comes back, they can just politely ask him to leave again?"
James chuckled. "Well, they're certainly stupid enough so they probably do."
Marlene went to bed early, but James remained in his father's study, trying to think how they were going to get the Boy-Who-Lived back. Marlene was right, even if Dumbledore wanted to train him, Snivellus would never allow it and now with the added annoyance of the Restraining Spell, neither of them could even get near him.
James sighed and decided to turn in, Maybe something would come to him in the morning. He went upstairs, got ready for bed, noxed the lights, and fell immediately to sleep. He suddenly awoke when the Grandfather clock in the hallway chimed two am. He grinned when he realized why he'd woken and shook Marlene's shoulder. "Marlene...Marlene, wake up."
Marlene rolled over with a grimace on her face. "Wha...What?"
"I just woke up with a great idea of how we can get the Boy-Who-Lived back!"
Thank you for reading. Please review.
