On the Seedrian ship Galaxina was holding a baby Seedrian. Starla, Daisy, Chrysanthemum stood around her.
"So this is the only baby that could grow from the seeds, Galaxina?" Starla said.
"Yes. None of the other seeds had any signs of life." Galaxina said.
"If this keeps up, our clan won't last for long. What should we do?" Daisy asked.
"Earthia has been able to hang on so far due to the fake Planet Egg, but as time goes on, I see she's definitely getting weaker. That's her last child." Chrysanthemum said.
Then the baby started to cry.
"Don't cry, dear. I almost forgot we haven't given her a name yet." Galaxina said.
"Cosmo." someone said and they turned to look at Earthia the tree in the engine room. "Cosmo. She's the last of my offspring, and the last hope for the galaxy. Guard and protect her. Our future depends on it."
"Did you hear Mother? You're a very special baby!" Galaxina said to Cosmo.
In space Chris, Sonic, and Amy looked at Final Mova, which had entered its second phase.
"It looks so strange. What is that thing?" Amy said quietly and everyone looked on.
On the Blue Typhoon second bridge.
"Mother..." Cosmo said as Tails looked at the readings of Final Mova.
"This doesn't look good! Its energy is increasing so rapidly... our scanners can't measure it!" he said.
On the Crimson Egg.
"Blast! The forestation process is getting too powerful for us to stop!" Eggman said.
In space Shadow leapt toward Final Mova.
"Shadow!" Chris said.
"Let's help him." Sonic said and he nodded and flew towards the pulsating seed.
"You better hurry!" Amy said.
"Ring Tunnel!" Chris said and fired a line of rings. "Go, Sonic!"
Sonic leapt through the rings and impacted Final Mova, sending waves of energy all across its surface. Final Mova emitted a purple-black gas that pushed him away, and the spaceship also. Not even Shadow wave of Chaos Spears could do any damage. The purple gas surrounded him and knocked him away. Chris's ship crashed through a few of the palm trees. Amy flew toward the Typhoon.
"Amy!" Sonic said and flew after her, catching her as they collide into the ship together.
They landed on the ground.
"Thanks, Sonic." she said.
Shadow skid to a stop on the runway.
On the Blue Typhoon the Chaotix, Cream, and Rouge entered the bridge.
"We got all the Emeralds." Vector said he and Espio presented present the petrified Chaos Emeralds.
"But look; they're useless now." Knuckles said.
"Those poor Chaos Emeralds... All their power is gone." Cream said sad.
"Chao chao..." Cheese said.
"That's just great! We don't have a single working Emerald! How can we fight back without extra power?" Knuckles said.
"Eggman!" Tails said.
"Listen. According to my calculations, there's a chance we could restore the power of the Chaos Emeralds. However, it will take the energy of both out ships." Eggman said over the radio.
On the Crimson Egg.
"Doctor, something's happening!" Bokkun said.
In space the Final Mova emitted wave after wave of purple energy across the entire universe, instantly fore stating all the planets that had their Planet Eggs removed. When hit by the wave, Amy started to collapse.
"You okay?" Sonic asked
Plants started to grow on the Typhoon, and a strange energy surrounded everyone.
"I'm starting to feel weak..." Chris said.
On the Blue Typhoon Vector and Espio dropped the Chaos Emeralds.
"What's happening, Tails?" Cosmo asked.
"Dark Oak is taking the life energy out of our bodies, just like they did to all the planets they attacked." Tails said.
On the Crimson Egg.
"It's drawing in all life energy it can find to spread plant life across the galaxy. It's the last stage of the forestation process." Eggman said.
On the Blue Typhoon only Cosmo wasn't affected and Tails realized this.
"Cosmo?" he said as Cosmo secured the dead Chaos Emeralds.
"Dark Oak cannot take my life energy away from me, because we both come from the same species of plant. I'll take care of this." she said and left.
Tails did nothing to stop her.
In space Cosmo looked for a way to board Eggman's craft.
"I'll take these Emeralds to Dr. Eggman so he can restore their power." she and climbed the vines surrounding the Crimson Egg. "The Metarex want to wipe out all animal life in the galaxy, but I still believe it's possible for plant and animal species to coexist in peace." she said to herself. "Just like I made friends with Tails and the others." she said remembering the party. "Dark Oak, there's still time for me to stop your plan!"
Deep inside Final Mova, Dark Oak spoke to Cosmo inside her mind. The singular eye of Dark Oak, as well as the eyes of Lucas, were shown.
"You cannot win... It's hopeless. What can one girl do to stop the Metarex?" Final Mova said.
"Nothing you can say will make me give up! I have hope! Hope for a better future - a future of true peace!" Cosmo said and Sonic used all his energy to stand up. "That's the kind of future my friends and I are fighting for!"
'That and get back home.' Sonic thought.
Suddenly, Final Mova emitted a red wave of energy causing one of the branches surrounding the Crimson Egg to grow and grab Cosmo, slamming her against the side of the Crimson Egg. There was a bright white light.
On the Blue Typhoon.
"Cosmo!" Tails said alarmed.
In space even after trying to tighten her grip, Cosmo's grip slipped on the handkerchief containing the Chaos Emeralds, and the float away.
"I lost the Chaos Emeralds!" she said.
Chris used what little energy he had left to look up and see the Emeralds floating away. Sonic tried to move, but Amy held him back. Shadow was about to move as well when there was another glow from Final Mova. Final Mova appeared to be vertically splitting in half. The weakness died down.
On the Blue Typhoon.
"What's happening?" Knuckles said.
"We've stopped losing energy." Tails said.
In space the Chaos Emeralds glowed from deep in space.
On the Crimson Egg.
"It's because of the Planet Egg." Eggman said.
In space.
"It appears the life force that the Metarex stole from the planets is responding to the Chaos Emeralds." he said on voiceover.
The Emeralds continued to glow and Cosmo was able to free herself from the vine and float down.
"Thank you." she said to herself.
Tears of joy appeared in her eyes as the Emeralds also float down.
"The pain's gone away." Chris said.
"Look, Sonic." Amy said.
The Emeralds finished floating down.
"Shadow!" he heard someone say and had a flashback of Molly and the memorial.
"You ready, Shadow?" Sonic asked.
"All set. Let's finish this!" Shadow said.
They closed their eyes and absorbed the power of the Chaos Emeralds, letting them turn them into Super Sonic and Super Shadow.
Sonic and Shadow prepared to fight Final Mova. Cosmo watched while Cream and Cheese ran outside.
"What's going on?" Cream asked.
"Shadow and Sonic are teaming up to stop the Metarex." Cosmo said as they flew inside the crack of Final Mova.
On the Blue Typhoon second bridge Chris joined the others.
"They'll be okay. I hope..." he said as they flew in and out of Final Mova, allowing it to finish splitting.
It glowed intensely.
On the Crimson Egg.
"Yay! All right!" Decoe, Bocoe and Bokkun said.
Eggman was shocked as many clouds surrounded the area where Final Mova once was.
"Something is wrong." he said.
In space.
"The energy levels are starting to reverse! Hm... It seems like it's imploding now." Eggman said on the voiceover.
The clouds moved away. Now Final Mova had the appearance of a black planet. Phase Three had begun. Everyone was shocked.
"Foolish hedgehogs! With the help of the Planet Egg, you have indeed prevented me from transforming the galaxy..." Final Mova said and Super Sonic and Super Shadow floated down to battle it. "...but you can never win this battle. If the Metarex can't rule the galaxy, then we will destroy it!" he said and laughed.
It pulsated with massive energy.
On the Blue Typhoon the reading are off the charts.
"The pressure inside that thing is growing fast!" Tails said.
"What's Dark Oak tryin' to do?" Vector asked.
"I know. He's producing a huge gravitational force, because he's trying to crush the Planet Egg." Chris said.
"But why is he doing that?" Knuckles asked.
"Imagine it's like a big balloon, and you keep on squeezing it tighter and tighter. You know what happens sooner or later, don't you?"
"It goes bang!" Charmy said.
"Hold on. Are you telling us that thing's going to explode?" Espio said.
"I'm afraid so." Chris said.
"That sounds bad." Rouge said.
In space Cosmo looked on with dread as black energy pulsed out of it.
"Dark Oak really is trying to destroy the galaxy." she said.
Super Sonic and Super Shadow spun toward Final Mova and tried to penetrate its energy, but it is so strong that nothing was done.
On the Crimson Egg.
"Isn't there anything we can to to help break through that gravity field?" Bokkun asked.
"Well... I've got one plan that involves you robots, but you won't like it. When you were built, I put special self-destruct circuits inside your bodies in case of an emergency such as this. I could set you off to break through the gravity field." Eggman said.
"But Dr. Eggman, that would destroy us too!" Decoe said.
"And besides, that gravity field is really powerful, so it would take a huge amount of energy to break through!" Bocoe said.
On the Blue Typhoon.
"Good point!" Decoe said over the radio.
"Eggman... please don't carry out that plan." Chris said.
"Don't worry; I won't. The explosion wouldn't be strong enough to penetrate through the field." Eggman said.
"Don't you have another plan up your sleeve? We're running out of time here!" Knuckles said.
"You claim to be a scientific genius. This would be the perfect time to prove it to all of us." Rouge said.
In space Super Shadow started to remove his limiters, but was stopped by Super Sonic.
"Don't use that ring yet! In a few seconds, we're gonna need all the power we can get. Listen up, everybody!" he said.
On the Blue Typhoon.
"Our only hope of saving the galaxy is to throw all the energy we've got into this gravity field in one shot." he said on voiceover. "Use the Sonic Power Cannon and launch me at it!" he said on the screen.
"It's way too risky! We've never launched you from the Power Cannon before when you were Super Sonic. We don't have any idea what'll happen to ya!" Tails said.
"That gravity field's extremely powerful, Sonic. If you smash into it, the force could be too much for your body to take!" Chris said.
"You mean to tell us there's a good chance Sonic won't even survive the attack?" Knuckles said.
'I'm not losing Sonic. Not my best friend, my brother.' he thought and saw him losing him.
"He can't do it! We have to come up with another plan!" Amy said.
In space.
"I don't know if I can save the galaxy, but I have to try!" Super Sonic said.
On the Blue Typhoon.
"And there's no way anybody's gonna talk me out of it, so save your breath. Now are you gonna help me or not?" he said on voiceover.
Knuckles could tell he was using the prince in him.
"Let's do it." Chris said while Amy just started.
"Great!" Super Sonic said on voiceover.
Chris ran over to a computer.
"I'm routing all the energy in the network to the Power Cannon." he said.
"We only have one chance to break through that field. We'll need all the energy we can get." Tails said.
On the Crimson egg.
"Prepare to transfer all power to the Blue Typhoon." Bocoe said.
"Cutting off the ship's energy supply now and sending it to the Sonic Power Cannon." Decoe said and turned the lights off as the Blue Typhoon did the same.
"Be honest, Doctor. I wanna know what you think. Does Sonic have a chance at saving the galaxy?" Bokkun asked but Eggman didn't know what to say.
In space.
"I'm so nervous I can't even look." Cream said.
"I feel helpless..." Cosmo said when her amulet glowed.
"Cosmo." Earthia said and was seen. "This is the moment we've been waiting for. You can help save the galaxy and our clan if you only believe in yourself."
"This is why I was sent here..."
"Are you okay?" Cream asked.
"I understand now. There can be peace in the galaxy, and I have the power to make it happen, Cream." Cosmo said to Cream.
"What do you mean?" Cream asked but she only smiled as she levitated into the air, amulet glowing. "Where are you going?"
Cosmo allowed her amulet to break apart. She started to enter her own stage of Mover Mode. The flowers in her hair started to bloom.
On the Blue Typhoon Cream and Cheese returned to the bridge to report the news.
"No! Come back!" she said crying.
"What's wrong?" Tails asked.
"Cosmo's out there to stop Dark Oak!"
In space never before had Cosmo looked more beautiful, with blooming roses and a mature appearance. Super Sonic saw this.
"Why are you here?" he asked as Cosmo flew toward Final Mova.
"Mother, I feel really happy now because I finally know what my purpose is!" Cosmo said to herself and easily penetrated the energy field. "My friends mean more to me than anything. That's why I give up everything to save them." she said to herself and started to merge with Final Mova as it glowed brightly.
A single rose petal floated by.
On the Blue Typhoon.
"What's she doing?" Tails said.
In space a beautiful cherry tree with many cherry blossoms appeared atop Final Mova, it roots spreading halfway across the artificial planet.
"Cosmo, you can transform and pass through the gravity field. In your new form, you will be like me. Your destiny will be fulfilled. You have the power to stop Dark Oak, and bring new life to our clan." Earthia said surprising everyone.
It spouted a few rose petals outward. One floated near Sonic. The spirit of Cosmo appeared.
"It's all right. I have Dark Oak immobilized. Now you'll be able to destroy the Metarex and save the galaxy. Don't worry about me. Just fire the Power Cannon now." she said.
On the Blue Typhoon.
"But if we fire the cannon, what'll happen to you?" Chris said.
"If she says not to worry, I have to trust her." Tails said.
A single tear fell on the ground. Now that he was alone, Tails hesitated before pressing a button, pulling up the targeting computer. His hand is on the trigger, but it grieves him to pull it.
"Tails, we must act immediately! Prepare to fire the cannon at my command!" Eggman said over the radio.
In space Super Sonic took off toward the Typhoon.
"Plug cannon into place and take aim." Eggman said on voiceover.
While dusty, the Sonic Driver is activated. Super Sonic flew into the cannon. Everyone looked out the window sadly.
Amy and Cream hugged each other, sobbing. Super Sonic was ready to be fired.
"Get ready, Sonic." Eggman said on voiceover.
Super Sonic looked up to see that Super Shadow was joining him smirking. Both hedgehogs spun at an insane rate inside the cannon.
On the Crimson Egg.
"Sonic and Shadow are attacking together!" Bocoe said.
"Which means this blast will be twice as powerful!" Decoe said.
Energy was drawn into the cannon.
On the Blue Typhoon.
"Here goes..." Chris said.
Even Knuckles closed his eyes in grief.
'Please be careful and survive.' he thought.
"Sonic Power Cannon, fire!" Eggman said on voiceover.
On the bridge.
"Roger!" Tails said.
He tried to pull the trigger, but couldn't bring himself to kill the one he loved most.
"Tails, I know this is difficult, but the galaxy is in danger, and time is running is running out! You must fire now!" Eggman said over the radio.
"I-I can't..." Tails said as he shook his head. "What about Cosmo...?"
"She knows what she's doing. Cosmo is carrying out her destiny. She was meant to save the galaxy, and we have to help her."
Tails looked up at the beautiful cherry tree that was Cosmo.
"But you're my friend, Cosmo. I'm sorry, but I just can't do it." he said when the spirit of Cosmo reappeared.
"Trust me, Tails... You have to fire. It's the only way to save all of us." she said.
"I trust you... but you mean a lot to me... I don't wanna lose you, Cosmo."
"You won't, Tails. You'll defeat the Metarex, and spread the seeds of my clan through the galaxy.
"I believe in you, Cosmo."
There were several flashbacks, including Cosmo bandaging Tails, Tails and Cosmo in the Lake of Love, Cosmo watching Chris pointing out a planet, Cosmo finding a Planet Egg, Sonic and Cosmo watching new seeds grow, and Tails and Cosmo looking up at the moon.
"Your friendship has meant a lot to me. I wish we could spend more time together, but I understand; this is your only hope to save the galaxy and bring your clan back. I'm sure your seeds will find a place to grow and find a new home."
"Good luck, Cosmo, and goodbye." Tails said and opened the safety and pressed the button, firing Super Shadow and Super Sonic at Final Mova… and Cosmo.
The blast was so strong that it destroyed the Sonic Driver. Super Sonic and Super Shadow manage to completely destroy Final Mova, Dark Oak, and the Metarex once and for all. A few more cherry blossoms float by.
"Thank you, Tails." spirit of Cosmo said and she spun around a few times. "I'll never forget you." she said and vanished.
