"Get back here!" Chloe shouted throwing a shoe.
They had returned to the lab the previous day, and Chloe had just found Ash's new Impidimp running off with some of her school supplies.
"Dee!" Rookidee screeched zooming after the Pokémon.
"Pika!" Pikachu shouted, standing in the way of Impidimp.
Quickly dropping the loot, Impidimp scurried into a vent leaving the situation behind.
"ASH!" Chloe's scream echoed throughout the lab.
"So I'm sure you all know why we're gathered here." Professor Cerise said.
"Ash, you need to get control of that Impidimp." Goh said angrily.
"It's become a menace." Talia piped in.
"I still can't find my left shoe!" Ren complained.
"Hey, it's not like other Pokémon haven't caused issues." Ash defended.
"Other Pokémon haven't caused this much trouble." Chloe complained.
"Ash, I'm sorry about this, but if you can't get it under control, I'm going to have to ask you to not leave it here at the lab." Professor Cerise said.
"What about when Goh's Skwovet almost destroyed the field due to its greed!" Ash said in his Pokémon's defense.
"Goh was given the same choice. He worked with Greedent and now Skwovent. Now it's not an issue." Professor Cerise explained. "I don't like doing this, but I have to make these kinds of decisions Ash."
"I'll work with him, just give me a few days." Ash bargained.
"You have the weekend. Monday morning if it isn't under control, he'll either have to go back to Galar, or Professor Oak's lab." Professor Cerise said.
"Come on Pikachu we've got work to do!" Ash said running out the room.
"Come here Impidimp." Ash said walking through the halls.
Gengar was searching through the building, while Dragonite was looking for a possible stash in the field. Suddenly out of a vent flew Pikachu, and Scraggy, wrestling Impidimp.
"Good work guys!" Ash said returning Impidimp. "Scraggy, do you think you can find the lost items in the vents?"
"Scraggy!" Scraggy saluted, before jumping back in.
"Come on Pikachu, I've got the things ready." Ash said grabbing a duffel bag.
The next thing Impidimp knew, it was in a forest. Making a run for it, he came face to foot with a Krookodile. Then a Charizard, and a Sirfetch'd. Pikachu and Ash blocked another exit. The last path was blocked by something large, and squishy.
"Alright Impidimp, I get it you are just doing what you enjoy, but you can't keep doing it now. So we're going to spend the next few days out here in this forest, training, and working together. If at any point you don't like it anymore, then I'll you be free." Ash said.
Impidimp watched as the others worked together to set up a shelter, and while they weren't looking took some of the things from it. Hiding them out of view, waiting for the tasty emotions, except nothing but a bitter emotion emanated. Normally this worked.
"Are you going to return them now?" Ash asked. He couldn't see Impidimp, but knew he was nearby.
Slowly climbing back down, Impidimp returned the stolen items, it wasn't fun when they knew it was him.
"Come on the shelter is all done. We can train a bit." Ash said cheerfully.
Impidimp watched as each of Ash's Pokémon faced off against one another. It looked like fun, but a lot of them seemed scary.
"Hey Impidimp, how about you go a round with Pikachu?" Ash offered. "Let's see what you can do." Pulling out his phone to look at Impidimp's attacks. "Bite, Swagger, Thief, and Draining Kiss. Hey you know some powerful moves."
Pikachu readied himself. Ash would be commanding Impidimp for this sparring match, so he was going solo.
"Alright Impidimp use Swagger!"
Pikachu immediately lost track of Impidimp, enraged, he charged an Iron Tail and struck the ground, hard.
"Now Impidimp use Draining Kiss!"
As Impidimp moved forward, Pikachu finally focused, and struck with Iron Tail. Knocking Impidimp out in a single hit.
"Hey Pikachu, it's okay. This happens from time to time in sparring. I didn't expect Impidimp to be able to take you first try." Ash admitted.
Unfortunately Impidimp had heard what Ash had said, and took it poorly.
As dinner time came by, Impidimp was nowhere in sight.
"Impidimp! Are you out here!" Ash called out, "It's time to eat!"
"You guys stay here, Pikachu and I will go looking for him." Ash said, running off with Pikachu.
Running through another clearing, Ash spotted Impidimp in the middle of a battle against another trainer.
"Hey stop it! That's my Impidimp!" Ash said running up to them.
"Hey, calm down the little dude just started attacking us. I'm just defending my stuff." The guy responded. "Since you're here though, how about a proper battle. I win, you help replace what he damaged, you win, I'll forget about it."
"I guess I don't have a choice." Ash said.
"One thing though, none of that Pikachu stuff. I want to take it out on that little dude." The other trainer said. "Names Vito by the way.
"No problem." Ash retorted. "And I'm Ash!"
"Alakazam, you're up!" Vito called out. "Use Psychic!"
"Impidimp use Thief!"
Impidimp ran forward unfazed by Alakazam's attack striking bit, then flipping backwards., one of Alakazam's spoons in his hand.
"Alakazam use Thunderbolt!"
"Impidimp use Torment!"
If there was one thing Impidimp enjoyed it was tormenting others. It jumped around mocking Alakazam, all the while holding onto the spoon.
"Alakazam use Dazling Gleam!"
"Impidimp use Bite!"
Impidimp got in close, and knocked out his opponent.
"Don't think I'm done. Come on out Hitmonchan!" Vito said.
"Hey, one on one. Using a second Pokémon is cheating!" Ash said. "We had a deal."
"The deal has changed! Hitmonchan use Ice Punch!"
"Impidimp use Draining Kiss!"
Impidimp jumped up onto Hitmonchan's arm, giving it a big kiss on the cheek before moving out of the way of the other fist.
"Hitmonchan use Mach Punch!"
"Impidimp use Torment!"
Hitmonchan's attack went way off course, getting him stuck in a tree.
"Hitmonchan break free."
"Impidimp use Draining Kiss!"
Impidimp hit Hitmonchan once again, before it finally broke free.
"Hitmonchan use Mach Punch!"
"Impidimp use Thief!"
Hitmonchan's fist was fast, but Impidimp was sneaky. He was able to easily dodge the attack before striking his opponent down.
Two Days Later
"Ash, you're back. How did things go?" Professor Cerise asked.
"Still a work in progress, but he listens to me, and won't steal anything important anymore, watch." Ash said going over to a vent.
"Impidimp, let's see what you've got." Ash shouted into the vent.
A minute passed, and then Impidimp came out of the vent holding a couple of pens, a spork, and an unused toothbrush.
"He's learned the difference between good and bad tricks, I don't want to strip that part of him away." Ash admitted.
"Very well, as long as he agrees to return anything if he's gone too far, or we run out of pens." Professor Cerise said.
"I don't think that will be an issue." Ash reassured, as Impidimp scurried into the vent to start a new collection. "We agreed that when he is called out of the vents he'd have to leave everything back outside and start fresh."
"Controlled chaos. Remarkable. I must say I'm impressed." Professor Cerise remarked. "Very well, deal is a deal. He can stay."
