Episode 16 (77): Coming Up with a Plan
In the resistance, life returns to normal after the Steam Team's encounter with Chrysalis. Even the Steam Team has helped made a contribution to the forces. Henry and Edward have made a big impact on unloading and sorting the supplies. Nia, Emily, Rebecca and Gordon made an impact on delivering the supplies to the warehouse. Toby, James, Percy and Thomas have managed to keep everyone happy with anything the refugees need help with and sometimes, even entertaining the young ponies and assorted species. Thomas was proud at seeing the progression everyone is doing, Sunset and Starlight were with him. She wrapped her front leg around his.
Sunset Shimmer: Look at what you guys accomplished babe, the resistance has never been any happier. With you guys helping them out, we're getting things done in seconds flat, all thanks to you guys. I'm so proud of you Thomas, (Kisses his cheek) I really am.
Thomas: (Blushes) Aww, thanks Sunset, you're just too sweet.
Sunset Shimmer: (Seductively) When we get back home honey, we're gonna have some really good fun, just you and me. (Whispers) How does that sound.
Thomas: Sure thing.
Sunset Shimmer: (Chuckles) Oh, I'm so gonna enjoy this. (Kisses him)
Starlight Glimmer: Man, you guys are getting cuter than Big Mac going gaga for Sugar Belle.
Pony Big Mac: Say wha?
The three chuckled at what Big Mac said. After a while, the Steam Team, Pony 6, Sunset, Starlight and Young 6 were hanging around the lounging area, some were exhausted.
Pony Pinkie: How's everypony and other species!
Gallus: To tell you the truth Pinkie Pie, we're all tired, exhausted, labored, sweating and overworked. That should tell you how exhausted we are.
Pony Rarity: I would hardly think so Gallus, I've been helping out some really nice ponies who need all the help they can get after the trauma they've experienced being as a prisoner in Chrysalis' clutches.
Gordon: Puh, I would never be a prisoner under Chrysalis' rule if she even did take over, that would be disgraceful!
James: Disgusting, can you imagine living in that condition. Yuck, I'll barf, lose my splendid coat and be a shriveled mess.
Henry: Despicable, not to mention the guards and the rest of her changeling swarm, making threats and even annoying us to no end.
Smolder: Yeah, count me out!
Ocellus: Anything better than being enslaved by my own people.
Pony Flutters: There, there Ocellus, we'll stop Chrysalis and her changelings.
Percy: Let's, because they've been driving me crazy.
Pony AJ: I'll say, those buggers have been giving us nothing but trouble. I say we take them down one by one.
Thomas: I'm afraid it's not that simple.
Pony Rainbow: What are you talking about "not simple", it's a foolproof plan.
Princess Twilight: Wait Rainbow Dash, he might be on to something, go on.
Thomas: Chrysalis knows all of us and what we can do, if we charge in and take out a single changeling out of the swarm, more will be pouring in, swamping us. But if we make our swarm, we might have an advantage.
Sandbar: So you're saying we, the resistance, make a swarm of our own.
Edward: I think I understand now, he's saying for the resistance army to be an invading swarm to the changelings, that's genius, good work Thomas.
Thomas: Hey, learned it from the best.
Smolder: Okay, I agree with you on that one Thomas, but how are we gonna stop them.
Thomas: With teamwork, magic and determination, we'll be able to stop the swarm and Chrysalis once and for all.
The group cheered at Thomas' idea.
Silverstream: Now that sounds amazing!
Henry: Let's just hope it works.
Toby: It will work Henry; we just need to have faith.
Yona: Yona agrees with Toby, plan needs to come to motion.
Princess Twilight: I'll tell this to the others, and hopefully, our plan will finally stop Chrysalis' onslaught.
She flew away to the meeting room, where the other heads of Equestria reside. Sunset smiled at Thomas, she wrapped her foreleg around Thomas' and gave him a sweet kiss on the cheek.
Sunset Shimmer: Such a good little problem solver.
Thomas: Pff, Sunset!
The group laughed at the couple, that's when Sunburst arrived with someone unfamiliar to the Steam Team and Sunset.
Sunburst: Umm, (Clears throat), I hope I'm not interrupting anything.
Emily: Nothing really, just having a conversation.
Sunburst: Oh brilliant, well, I want you all to meet the head of the Equestria Education Association, or EEA if you will, Chancellor Neighsay.
Chancellor Neighsay: It's a pleasure to meet you all.
Sunburst: Neighsay, this is Sunset Shimmer, a representative from the human world, she's accompanying the resistance in fighting Chrysalis and the changelings.
Chancellor Neighsay: Nice to meet you.
Sunset Shimmer: It's a pleasure to meet you Chancellor.
Sunburst: And these guys are the famous Steam Team. Leading the team is Thomas, accompanied by Edward, Henry, Gordon, James, Percy, Toby, Emily, Nia and Rebecca.
Thomas, Edward, Gordon, Henry, Percy, James, Rebecca, Emily, Nia & Toby: Hello! Hello! Hello! Hello! Hello! Hello! Hello!
Chancellor Neighsay: I'm charmed to meet such fine champs. And there I say Thomas, you have the spirit of a true ruler.
Thomas: Uhh well, I may not be a ruler at the moment, but Twilight sees potential in me, so I wouldn't disappoint.
Chancellor Neighsay: I'm sure you won't.
Sunburst: Uhh, don't you have anything more to say to them.
Chancellor Neighsay: Wha, oh dear, I knew that was gonna be brought up to new folk.
Thomas: What's that?
Chancellor Neighsay: I uhh, did something back then, that wasn't very smart or very nice.
Sunset Shimmer: What's that.
Pony Pinkie: Twilight and the rest of us thought of doing a friendship school for all the kingdoms in Equestria, from ponies, griffons, dragons, changelings, hippogriffs, yaks and a whole lot more. We thought we had it in the bag, but then, Chancellor Neighsay deems this school unethical because it's only for ponies, not the other creatures 'cause he deems them dangerous and we'll use friendship for their own selfish ways. But we know that's total baloney, but Neighsay didn't think so, so he shut down the school, but we got it back. Then, he tried to take it again, and when we discovered that Cozy Glow is draining the magic of Equestria, he had a change of heart, right Neighsay.
James: (Shakes head) Wait, how accurate is she?
Chancellor Neighsay: Unfortunately, Pinkie Pie is correct, it was a mistake I should never have done from the beginning.
Nia: Whoa, now that's deep.
James: Putting harsh sanctions on every other species in Equestria for not taking part in the School of Friendship, now that's cruel.
Chancellor Neighsay: Yes, I'll admit my actions are anything but glamorous, but I'm trying to fix what I've done.
Thomas: That we can accept Neighsay, you've made a mistake and we forgive you.
Chancellor Neighsay: Thank you Thomas, I bestow my full trust on you all. But we must head to the meeting room, we're discussing a strategy on how to truly stop Chrysalis and the changelings.
Emily: I agree, these bugs have caused enough ruckus and trouble for more than enough days.
Thomas: Don't you mean, confusion and delay.
It took a second for the group to realize that he meant it as a joke and they laughed and laughed. After that, they arrived at the meeting room where everyone they've selected were to take part in their plan:

The Steam Team see the Pillars and the Princesses sitting at a meeting table.
Star Swirl the Bearded: Greetings Steam Team, you're just in time. We're about to discuss the final plan to get rid of that accursed Chrysalis.
Thomas: I agree, let's get down to business shall we.
So the Steam Team, Sunset, Starlight, Pony 6 and Spike sat at the remaining seats of the meeting table, while the Young 6 sat with the other resistance members.
Gordon: So, what's on our agenda for today?
Flash Magnus: Well, we need a plan to take down Chrysalis and her changelings once and for all, because if we don't….
James: Then Chrysalis and her army will spread to all the corners of Equestria and take over everything, yeah we know the whole shebang.
Edward: Don't get us wrong, we know you all want to take Chrysalis down, but taking the wrong approach could spell disaster.
Tempest Shadow: Edward's right, it could spell disaster if we take it in a completely different direction, we need to be smart about this.
Rockhoof: Very well Tempest, so what will be our course of action?
Toby: We need to be direct at Chrysalis' army, no one and I mean no one should be taking on one, otherwise we'll be swarmed.
Mistmane: Hmm, quite a claim you got there young Toby.
Pony Rainbow: So, how are we gonna stop Chrysalis from advancing even further.
Thomas: We attack their army head on, as a team. I know it might seem difficult but we have no other option. So we must be strong, vigilant and on guard for most of this fight.
Sunset Shimmer: Thomas, that's a smart idea.
Percy: Let's just hope it's enough.
Sunburst: It's gotta work, we've suffered too long from her tyranny. Now's the time to strike, whatever means necessary.
Rebecca: We understand your concern Sunburst, and we will try to stop the changelings, once and for all.
Star Swirl the Bearded: You Steam Team folk really are relentless in your mission to help us. When the threat is over with, remind me to reward you all for your incredible services.
James: Thanks, at least it'll impress me when they reward us.
Gordon: Oh stow it James, you always think fame will get you anywhere.
James: Hey, I gotta have a bunch of ponies to Equestria get me noticed. You should know it too when fame gets to you.
Gordon: Of course I know fame James, you dummy. I was the pride of the line back on Sodor, and everyone treated me like a celebrity, even on the mainland. But fame isn't everything James, so get it through your head.
Pony AJ: Alright, you two, let's break this up before this turns into a slugfest.
Starlight Glimmer: Yeah, and I thought listening to Bill and Ben is annoying enough, next to these two.
James & Gordon: Hey! Hey!
Princess Luna: (Smirking) Do I need to use my royal voice towards you two.
Gordon & James: N-N-No! N-N-No!
Princess Luna: (Chuckles) Works every time.
Princess Celestia: You certainly have a way with words Luna, but back to the matter at hand. Thomas did bring up a point that we could definitely exploit to our advantage. Attacking the army head-on would be our best bet, with all of us working together, we could stop her army and hold back Chrysalis from taking over anymore land.
Thomas: Exactly, while you guys are taking out her army, I'll personally have to fight Chrysalis alone.
Pony Pinkie: WHAT?!
Pony Rarity: Surely you can't be serious darling.
Spike: Taking on Chrysalis is way too dangerous.
Pony Flutters: And she's scary, she might hurt you.
Thomas: Guys I'm fine, I've fared far worse. Even my friends could tell you that.
Percy: Exactly, he helped stopped Diesel from taking over Canterlot High.
Sunset Shimmer: Survived being possessed by his demon brother, who wants to turn everything into hell.
James: Survived, but almost died from his fight with Adagio.
Gordon: And survived being corrupted by Midnight's influence when he was Nemesis Thomas, no offense Thomas.
Thomas: (Sighs) None taken.
Princess Luna: Don't take it too hard dear Thomas, I too have fallen victim to the darkness' corruption.
Thomas: Really?
Princess Twilight: Yeah, back then, Celestia and Luna ruled ancient Equestria before it was the way it was right now. Luna, grew jealous when she couldn't appreciate the ponies in the daytime to which Celestia commands the sun and Luna commands the moon. So, she made the moon stayed where it was. To which, the Nightmare power corrupted Luna and she became Nightmare Moon.
Princess Luna: Yes, and my sister has to banish me with the Elements of Harmony to the moon, and after so many years, I'm released. At first, I tried to destroy the Elements of Harmony, but Twilight and her friends managed to possess them and reformed me.
Princess Cadence: Yes, it's tragic but we're happy that Luna is back to her old self.
Sunset Shimmer: Wow, that must be tragic. But I'm glad you all are together again.
Chancellor Neighsay: Indeed, Star Swirl, we should move forward with Thomas' plan. If he's correct, we just might be on the road to victory.
Star Swirl the Bearded: Hmm, give us some time to think about and we'll let you know
So the pillars and princesses went to a separate room to talk things through, while the Steam Team, Pony 6, Sunset and Starlight stay behind and talk things out.
Henry: Well that was interesting.
Pony AJ: I can attest to that Henry partner, with this plan set in motion, there's nothing stopping us.
James: About time, I've had enough of bugs lately.
Rebecca: Let's not get too hasty James, we want to be right about this.
Gordon: Exactly Rebecca, like they said, if we screw this up, we'll be playing into Chrysalis's hooves with no way on reversing the effects.
Pony Rainbow: Uhh, what?
Princess Twilight: What Gordon is saying, that if the plan backfires, Chrysalis will have her chance at taking over all of Equestria. If she does, no one will be saved and the changelings will be unstoppable! They need to be stopped or else Chrysalis will become more powerful beyond my comprehension.
James: Ugh, I hate it when some people or pony get too technical with their words, it's making my brain hurt.
Edward: Twilight's got a point, if Chrysalis does take over, no one is safe, not even the princesses.
Pony Rarity: I have to agree with Edward darling, we must stop her if our plan is going to be exact.
Thomas: Then it's settled, once the Pillars and the princesses come back, we'll know for sure if we're good to move forward with the plan.
Sunset was watching them talk this out, until Twilight tapped her hoof and asked her to come over with her. At first, she's curious, but accepts, so the two went to an area for a little privacy.
Sunset Shimmer: What's up Twily?
Princess Twilight: Well, there's something that's been on my mind and I just want someone with an honest opinion, that being you of course.
Sunset Shimmer: (Chuckles) Well, you have me on presenting honest opinions, so what's up.
Princess Twilight: When I was watching the Steam Team, I sense potential for them.
Sunset Shimmer: Potential, for what?
Princess Twilight: I think they might be worthy on wielding the Elements of Harmony and becoming the new bearers.
Sunset Shimmer: Really, but the Elements are bonding to you and your friends, how are they going to bond to Thomas and his friends.
Princess Twilight: Hmm, I've read more about the Elements of Harmony and they can even generate new elements for new bearers. The Steam Team might be our only shot in stopping Chrysalis for good.
Sunset Shimmer: Hmm, well, you had me at curious Twily?
Princess Twilight: (Blushes, chuckles) Sunset! But seriously though, you really have changed, and I'm glad I got to be your friend Sunset.
Sunset Shimmer: (Blushes) Aww, same here Twilight.
The two hugged it out and walked back to the group, that's when the princesses and the Pillars arrived.
Thomas: So, what's your decision.
Star Swirl the Bearded: Well, me, Celestia and the rest of us were talking and making some final assumptions on your plan Thomas, and we've reached a conclusion.
They waited in anticipation to see if they're in agreement.
Princess Celestia: We accepted your plan and we'll be able to move forward with the arrangements.
The Steam Team and Pony 6 cheered after they said that they'll agree with Thomas' plan. After a while, the Canterlot guards get to work on fining their armor, sharpening their weapons for battle against Chrysalis and the changelings. Thomas, the Princesses and Lady are seeing first hand.
Thomas: So this is the famous castle guard.
Lady: Yeah, a couple castle guard managed to escape Chrysalis' tyranny when we started our resistance, but when you guys came in and freed every single citizen in Ponyville and Canterlot, we now stand a fighting chance at stopping her.
Princess Luna: Indeed, Sir Thomas, we couldn't have done it without you and the Steam Team's help. Without you, we would've have gained barely enough ground to stop Chrysalis.
Princess Celestia: I agree, remind me to commend a ceremony to congratulate the heroes that saved Equestria. We thank you Thomas and the Steam Team.
Thomas: You're welcome Princess Celestia, I feel honored to help Equestria out if it needs me.
Sunset Shimmer: Oh Tommy, where are you honey?
Thomas blushed surprisingly, to which the princesses could just giggle.
Princess Luna: I think your loved one is looking for you.
Thomas: (Blushes) Y-Yeah.
Lady: It's perfectly fine Thomas, go get her Thomas.
Thomas chuckled sheepishly and raced away, leaving the princesses to laugh at what just transpired. Meanwhile, Chrysalis watched from the outskirts of Canterlot castle as she gazed throughout Ponyville.
Queen Chrysalis: This is only the beginning, ponies of Canterlot, soon you will feel my full wrath when the ultimate battle presents itself, time for the reign of Chrysalis to take flight! (Laughs evilly)
