Season 5: Beginning of the Invasion
Episode 17 (78): Help with an Old Ally
The resistance has been booming, guards have been fine tuning their armor and sharpening their weapons for their fight against the changelings. Dragons training to hone their fire abilities, Griffons sharpening their claws and ponies working their hardest to be in physical shape. The Steam Team is busy training and using their weapons while the Pony and Young 6 watched them. Thomas is training with Rebecca, Gordon is training with Emily, Edward is training with Henry, James is training with Nia and Percy is training with Toby.
Pony Rainbow: (Whistles) Look at them go, they practically master them.
Spike: They're amazing, the way they used their weapons, their fighting style is so fluid and swift. I wish I could be like them.
Pony AJ: I don't know Spike, you practically fall over a lot and probably end up crashing into a lot of stuff. (Snickers)
Spike: Hey!
Spike knew that the ponies are just teasing, so he doesn't take it too seriously. The first training session we'll look at is Thomas against Rebecca, the two were circling each other while using their magic to wield their weapons. Thomas twirled his sword as he circles Rebecca.
Thomas: So Rebecca, you think you can take me on.
Rebecca: Well considering how well I fought in the last fights, I think I might be able to bring you down.
Thomas: (Chuckles) Don't try to be cocky Rebecca, but try to impress me.
Rebecca: Oh, I will Thomas.
Thomas and Rebecca rushed towards each other and clashed their blades, as they were fighting, the ponies watched them fight with their bladed weapons.
Pony AJ: Shoo-wee, they really swing them well like lassos about to grab branches from a big tree.
Starlight Glimmer: I'll say, they must have some extensive training if they're gonna use them in battles.
Sunset Shimmer: Well, we have to go to a place known as Hiro's dojo and they trained us in the art of Kung Fu and several martial arts, and even trained us in using these weapons, though Thomas got his when he was Midnight's dark influence.
Princess Twilight: Whoa, never knew that, but at least Thomas is back to his old self, and not his dark personality.
Sunset Shimmer: Well, there's one thing that Thomas is trying to control, he has a wrist blade, that sometimes pops out from out of nowhere. But we're working together to have it under control.
During their fight, Rebecca was panting from exhaustion and Thomas stood proudly with his sword.
Thomas: You're good, but still have much to learn.
Rebecca: (Panting) Oh, I'm just getting started.
They charge again, but that's when it happened, as Thomas is charging towards Rebecca, his wrist blade magically appeared, caught the ground and making him stuck.
Thomas: Are you freaking kidding me!
Starlight Glimmer: That's that arm blade you were telling us about.
Sunset Shimmer: Y-Yeah, this is not good.
Seeing this as an opportunity, Rebecca went in and struck Thomas to the side of his face with the shaft of her spear which sends him crashing to the ground. The ponies and Young 6 winced from the impact.
Sandbar: Come on Thomas get up.
Smolder: Show her that you're no pushover.
Thomas was on his back groaning from the impact, until he sees Rebecca's spear tip a few inches away from his face.
Rebecca: I'll admit you are a formidable fighter Thomas, but I think they're still more margin for error around your part.
Then, Thomas' eyes shift in and out of his usual eye color to purple, with a shout, he swung his wrist blade at Rebecca, but the tip of the blade made contact with her side and made a cut on her. She shrieked a little and fell back, which the ponies and Young 6 couldn't believe what they've seen. Sunset and Twilight raced over. Thomas panted after that, his eyes showed a faint purple stream as his eye colors returned to normal. He shook his head to regain his focus.
Thomas: Ugh, what just happened. (Gasps) Rebecca, oh no, what have I done?!
Sunset Shimmer: Thomas, Thomas! Calm down, that wasn't you doing this.
Thomas: Rebecca, are you okay!
Rebecca: I-I'm fine Thomas.
Princess Twilight: It's just a scratch, nothing a simple healing spell won't fix.
As Twilight activates her spell, Thomas is left with guilt as his wrist blade disappears.
Thomas: (Sighs) This is hopeless, no matter how many times I try to control this blade, it always pops out in the stupidest ways.
Sunset Shimmer: It's okay Thomas, this is only a minor incident, there's no harm done and Rebecca's not so terribly hurt.
Princess Twilight: Sunset's right, she's not so badly hurt. But here's some advice Thomas, I have to face some dark magic whenever the situation gets hairy, and I learn to embrace it. But don't let it control you, otherwise it may overwhelm you and become a mindless monster.
Thomas: Thanks Twilight, are you sure you're okay Rebecca.
Rebecca: I'm okay Thomas, I'm not so terribly hurt, all is forgiven Thomas.
She went and hugged Thomas, to which Thomas hugged her back. Sunset and Twilight smiled and hoof-bumped. Meanwhile, the next pair came in to the arena, it was Edward and Henry.
Edward: Henry?
Henry: Edward? Oh no, I don't want to fight you.
Edward: Worry not Henry, this is just a training session, not an actual fight.
Henry inhaled in and out and went into his fighting stance and so did Edward, as they slowly circled each other. Thomas and Rebecca joined the ponies and Young 6 to watch the fight. Then, the fight began, Edward fired his wrist blasters at him, but Henry is swinging his Nunchucks all around to deflect the blasts.
Gallus: (Whistles) Henry is moving so fast with his Nunchucks, it's almost a blur.
Silverstream: I totally agree, they're incredible.
Edward was still firing and Henry is still whipping around his Nunchucks, until one blast disarmed them.
Edward: You're impressive with that speed of your Nunchucks, but how are you at hoof-to-hoof.
Henry: I won't be holding back.
They stood on their hooves and immediately started hoof-to-hoof combat, and everyone was amazed at what they can do.
Pony Pinkie: Whoo! They're moving so fast.
Smolder: One of them is bound to fall at some point.
As Edward and Henry were busy fighting, Henry managed to kick Edward back and is about to strike, but Edward is ready.
Edward: You're finished.
He brought his hoof out, blocked Henry's attack and did his pressure point technique on certain joints on Henry's body. He then dropped to his knees and fell, making Edward the victor.
Pony Flutters: Oh no, Henry! Are you okay!
Yona: Henry unconscious?
Edward: No, he's fine, it's just a technique I've learned from Master Hiro and his friends.
Sandbar: Phew, at first I thought you killed him.
Edward: Pff, me, no, he's my best friend and I would never kill him.
James: Alright Eddie, stand aside. (Twirls his ax and stops) I'm next.
Pony Rarity: Just don't hit your head one too many times darling.
James: Relax, I've been in far greater scrapes before, I can handle this.
The group went back to the booth and watched James and Nia walking into the arena.
Smolder: He sure seems like a hothead; how are you guys even friends with him.
Thomas: Believe me, James has got himself cocky and always showing off back on Sodor when it comes to his shiny paintwork. Even with that attitude, he's still a reliable and good friend.
Ocellus: Interesting, I'm learning more about you guys by the day.
James is twirling his ax with his magic as Nia prepares her weapons.
Nia: This sounds too easy.
James: Why do you say that?
Nia: (Chuckles) Well, from what the others have told me, you seem like an easy one to beat.
James: What?! I'll show you Nia how strong I am.
Nia: We shall see.
The two circled each other as their fight begins. Nia fired four arrows at James with her bow, but James using his magic to swing his ax at the arrows and sliced them in half, and one (slow motion) went so close to his mane as he dodges it. The arrow grazed over his mane until it stuck itself on the ground.
James: Hey, watch it! You nearly took my mane off!
Nia: Sorry, but impressive dodging that last arrow.
James: True, but this time, I won't be holding back.
Nia put away her bow, and used her magic to bring out her Bo staff. They soon charged towards each other as their weapons clashed and their fight began. The group watching the fight was mesmerized.
Henry: Man, James is going all-out.
Gallus: I'll say, from what I'm seeing with Nia is that she has more weapons than most of you, meaning she has more versatility. She might have an advantage if she beats James.
Starlight Glimmer: We'll just have to wait and see Gallus, this is gonna be interesting.
James and Nia continuing fighting, until James caught her Bo staff with his ax, flung it over him with Nia clinging to her staff as she crashes to the ground, disarming her from her staff.
James: Had enough Nia?
Nia: Oh I don't think so James.
Her magic brought out her sword and they charged again and clashed. They were fighting, dodging and blocking their strikes, the audience is wondering on who would land the blow first. Their weapons hit again, as they look at each other.
James: You may be strong Nia, but I'm stronger than you think.
Nia: We shall see James.
So as they're fighting, James did a slide move, which clipped Nia's hooves, and he kicked Nia far until she crashed to the ground, declaring James the winner.
James: I told you I'm the victor.
Sunset Shimmer: Well done James, you put up a stellar fight.
James: I know, a proud and splendid engine like myself should always get the attention he deserves.
Gordon: Pah, you think you deserve the attention, I've said it countless times, I pull the grandest train in all of Sodor, the Express and even you tend to show off more times than none.
James: Okay, I wanna see you do better in your fight against Emily.
Princess Twilight: Alright, you guys, let's not go overboard on this.
So everyone went back to the booth to watch the next fight which is Gordon vs Emily, Gordon got out his hammer while spins her katana.
Gordon: This is almost too easy.
Emily: Don't sell yourself so short, stud. I might be the one to beat you.
Gordon: Pah, I hardly see you fairing in this fight, I'm the decided victor for this one, so without further ado, let's get this done.
Gordon and Emily charged at each other and their weapons collided, hammer on katana. The crowd watched as the two Pegasi fought.
Pony Pinkie: Whoo! Look at them, they're moving so fast, it's like a blur!
Smolder: Tell me about it. Gordon could easily beat Rainbow Dash.
Pony Rainbow: Hey! I heard that!
Their weapons collided again and sent them sliding back. Emily looked to see Gordon charging again, but this time Emily's ready, when Gordon gets close enough. Emily brought out her katana just in time for her sword to make contact with his hammer, the momentum of Gordon's regular speed and even his hammer made him tumble and crash to the ground, making Emily the winner.
Gordon: What?! How did I loose! I had the advantage.
Emily: Well, you do tend to rush things around some cases, so I took an advantage and used your momentum against you.
Gordon: I call for a rematch!
Gallus: Sorry Gordon, Emily played smart and used your momentum to screw you over, thus getting her the win.
Gordon grumbled over the fact that he was beaten by Emily as they head to the booth.
Pony Rainbow: Relax Gordon my man, it's not a competition that's all about winning, you win some, you lose some. That's just how it goes.
Gordon: Well, thanks.
They see Toby approach the arena with his scythe floating from his magic.
Toby: So, who would I be fighting?
Something flashed in, and showed Percy.
Percy: I'll be your challenger.
Sandbar: This should be good.
Princess Twilight: These are your friends Thomas, why make them fight each other.
Thomas: Don't worry Twilight, I'm sure they're just playing around, sometimes we do fight, but we eventually get back together.
Percy and Toby were circling each other as they begin their fight.
Toby: You ready for this Percy?
Percy: I'm born ready Toby.
Toby charged forward with his scythe to try to strike down on Percy, but his agility dodged the scythe and started firing at Toby, to which Toby's scythe starts spinning around to deflect the shots. Toby charged again with the scythe still spinning, he then struck down. To Toby's surprise, Percy had dodged again and charged at him to try hoof-to-hoof combat, to which Percy did as Toby deflect the strikes with the shaft of his scythe. With their combat going on, the others were amazed at how good they are.
Pony AJ: Shoo-wee, these two sure have worked out this much to get them to this point.
Sandbar: I know right; I wish I could train much like you guys.
Sunset Shimmer: It takes a couple of weeks to accomplish this sorta thing.
Percy and Toby were still fighting it out, until Percy kicked him back, fired at him with his blasters while trying his best to block them but couldn't block all of them, and that's when Toby dropped to the ground panting, making Percy the victor.
Thomas: Nice job Percy.
Percy: Thanks, and you're not so bad yourself Toby.
Toby: (Panting) Thanks.
Percy walked up to and brought his hoof out for him to grab, Toby obliged to his gesture and Percy helped him up. That's when the rest of the Steam Team, Pony & Young 6 gathered around Percy and Toby. That's when they hear clapping from outside of the arena, coming out of the shadows is Discord.
Discord: Bravo Steam Team, you must have some outstanding training performing those moves, your weapons are truly mesmerizing and extremely intimidating when you handle them. I should know, (spawns' swords from his hands) I do have some knowledge of a lot of weaponry here in Equestria.
Princess Twilight: Discord, what brings you around these parts?
Discord: Oh come on Twilight, I just happen to notice the Steam Team training in this makeshift arena you guys are doing. So, as I watching them, I've been sensing enormous amounts of potential for them.
Pony Rainbow: Potential? As the word "potential" in your eyes say you like to play devious tricks on them.
Discord: Heavens forbid, I ain't here to make devious tricks on our new saviors, I'm here to help them out.
Gordon: Hmph, well it's gonna take some convincing to have us believe you.
James: Yeah, after the last stunt you pulled, almost had both Canterlot and Sodor destroyed.
Thomas: Let's not mention that James, he's changed now.
Discord: Aww, thanks for believing me Thomas. Also, Twilight and I have been talking about something you guys should know.
Thomas: What are you saying?
Princess Twilight: Me, the Princesses and Discord have been talking about this, while you guys were helping the resistance. And to help stop Chrysalis' once and for all, we were thinking if you guys should be the next bearers of the Elements of Harmony.
Discord: Why thank you Twilight, so what do you say to that?
Gordon: I don't know, from what I've heard of this so-called "Tree of Harmony", that the Elements are supposed to keep the Everfree forest from taking over.
James: Yeah, I don't think it's worth the risk.
Discord: Oh sweet Celestia, don't you guys want to be heroes to stop the changelings, well it's time for you to take this action. Can't your other friends do something like that. I don't think so, actually, I feel a song coming on! HIT IT!
BG Music: Friend Like Me- Genie (Aladdin) Discord singing
Well, Steam Team had them forty bugs (Spawns 40 changelings)
Scheherazade had a thousand tales
But, master, you in luck 'cause, up your sleeves
You got a brand of magic never fails
(He spawned a shirt and in his sleeve, he brought out all sorts of magic)
You got some power in your corner now
Some heavy ammunition in your camp (Spawns tanks, guns & ammo)
You got some punch, pizzazz, yahoo and how?
(Discord was wearing boxing gloves and did an air punch)
See, all you gotta do is say that word, and I'll say
"Mister Thomas, sir, what will your pleasure be"
Let me take your order, jot it down (He was a waiter taking an order)

(He starts dancing with other versions of himself)

Can your friends do this? (Juggling a bunch of hot potatoes)

Out their little hat (A large T-Rex as it roared out)

And then make the sucker disappear
So don't 'cha sit there slack-jawed, buggy-eyed

After Discord's performance, the Steam Team couldn't believe what they've just witnessed.
James: Wh-wh-WHAT DID I JUST WITNESS?!
Percy: My mind is blown!
Sunset Shimmer: Yep, Discord is truly the master of chaos right there.
Discord: Oh do tell Sunset.
Sunset Shimmer: Don't push it.
Princess Twilight: Well, besides Discord's performance, we think the new Elements might give us an advantage in stopping Chrysalis and the changelings. What do you say Thomas, can you and your friends be the new Element bearers to help our fight?
The Steam Team looked at each other pondering on what to think of being the new Element bearers.
Thomas: We accept the offer, Princess Twilight.
Princess Twilight: Yes, follow us!
Discord: How about I just teleport you all over to the Tree of Harmony.
Suddenly, with a snap of his fingers, he teleported the Steam Team, Young 6, Pony 6, Sunset and Starlight, along with himself to the Tree of Harmony, where it keeps the Elements of Harmony, powerful Equestrian relics. Once they arrive, it leaves the group with eyes spinning. They shake their heads to regain their senses.
Princess Twilight: Next time, warn us when you're gonna do that.
Discord: I digress, but hey, at least we're at the Tree of Harmony.
The Steam Team looked to see the Tree of Harmony for the first time.
James: Well, flatten my funnel!
Thomas: Cinders and ashes.
Sunset Shimmer: This is beautiful.
Princess Twilight: Sunset and Steam Team, I present to you, the Tree of Harmony, it's a very special place that keeps Equestria safe but also houses Equestria's most powerful artifacts, the Elements of Harmony.
The tree opened up each of its six branches, revealing the six gems: A pink butterfly gem, a magenta six-star gem, a red lightning bolt gem, a purple diamond gem, an orange apple gem and a blue balloon gem.
Emily: Wow, they're so pretty.
James: Sparkling and shiny, of course, not as spectacular as myself with my splendid coat and wavy mane.
Gordon: O' the indignity, would you shut up James.
Edward: Guys, let's get back to the matter at hand.
Princess Twilight: Each of these elements represents an aspect of what all my friends represent. I'll let my friends tell you of their respective elements, and the same for myself. I'll start, I represent the Element of Magic, how I got it, well, when I see my friends coming to my aid to face off against Nightmare Moon, it made me realize that they're helping me to the point where it somehow "sparked" my element.
Thomas: That's quite a story Twilight, you really have that quality of not just magic, but a quality of a leader and ruler in you.
Princess Twilight: (Blushes) Aww thanks Thomas, you're too sweet. So, Element of Magic, who should be worthy of wielding your power and spawn a new Element of Harmony.
The magenta star gem rose up and spun around, over the Steam Team, until it stopped. Then, a magenta aura covers Thomas which surprised the others.
Percy: Thomas, worthy from the Element of Magic, that's awesome.
Toby: That doesn't surprise me in the slightest. (Chuckles)
Thomas walked off to be separated from the others as he awaited the others.
Princess Twilight: Pinkie Pie, care to tell them your Element?
Pony Pinkie: Oh, you got it Princess. Well, where to start, oh yeah. While me and my friends were heading to the Castle of the Two Sisters to find the Elements, we have to go through a dense forest, that have trees with scary faces. SCARY FACES PEOPLE! (Clears throat) Back to the subject at hand, since most of my friends were scared of those faces, I just laugh and make funny faces at them, causing them to poof into nothingness. I just had to tell them that they have to conquer their fears, by just laughing at them! Hence why I earned the Element of Laughter when defeating Nightmare Moon.
Percy: Whoa, now that's crazy, but cool at the same time!
Pony Pinkie: I know right, so, Element of Laughter, who should be worthy of wielding your power and spawn a new Element of Harmony of awesomeness!
The blue balloon gem rose up above the Steam Team, and spun around, until it stopped. Then, a blue aura covers Percy and James which surprised the others.
Percy: Ha, look at me, I'm worthy! AWESOME!
James: What?! Why am I the Element of Laughter!
Pony Pinkie: No silly, I'm the Element of Laughter, it just wants to share its power with you.
James: Oh joy. (Sarcastically)
Gordon: (Chuckles) Probably because of your silly antics on trying to show off! (Laughs)
James: Oh shut up Gordon!
The two separated from the others and joined Thomas.
Pony Pinkie: Rainbow Dash, care to tell them your Element.
Pony Rainbow: Oh, I thought you never ask my balloon-haired friend. (Clears throat) So, I Rainbow Dash, represent the Element of Loyalty. How I got to be worthy of it, well, when me and my friends have to cross a broken rope bridge across a ravine, I volunteered to help fix it, that's when I was confronted by the Shadowbolts, they were trying to flatter me and invite me to join them as their captain, which will result in me abandoning my new friends. At first, I was tempted, but I decline their offer, fixed the bridge and letting them cross. How's that for a flashback!
Gordon: Now that is some story and a brave one too, almost like me in a way.
James: We get it you moron.
Pony Rainbow: Now then, for the moment of truth, Element of Loyalty, who should be worthy of wielding your power and spawn a new Element of Awesomeness.
The red lightning bolt gem rose above the Steam Team and spins around, until it stopped. Then, a red aura covers Gordon which everyone expected.
James: Of course it's gonna choose Gordon, no surprise there.
Gordon separated from the others and joined Thomas, James & Percy.
Pony Rainbow: Hey Applejack, care to tell them your element partner.
Pony AJ: I thought you never asked. So, I'm Applejack, and I represent the Element of Honesty. How I got to be worthy of it, well when me and my friends were heading to the Castle of the Two Sisters to get the Elements of Harmony before Nightmare Moon. When we were going through the mountains, a ledge where we were standing is starting to collapse, Twilight was dangling off the ledge, I was there and told her to let go, of course she was appalled by this, but I told her to trust me and let go. She let go and Rainbow and Fluttershy caught her and to safety.
Henry: You're kidding!
Princess Twilight: (Blushes) Y-Yeah, probably one of my least favorite things I've done in the past.
Pony AJ: All is forgiven, Element of Honesty, who should be worthy of wielding your power and spawn a new Element of Harmony?
The orange apple gem rose above the Steam Team as it spins around, then it stopped. Then, an orange aura covered Nia and Edward, which the others were surprised minus Thomas.
Thomas: I always knew you have that honest attitude from every single adventure we've been on during our stay in Canterlot.
Edward: (Chuckles) I've learnt it from experience my old friend.
So the two separated from the group and joined Thomas, Percy, Gordon and Edward.
Pony AJ: Rarity, care to tell your Element?
Pony Rarity: Oh, do tell darling. Well, as you all know, I am Rarity, and I represent the Element of Generosity. Around our adventure to get the Elements from Nightmare Moon, we have to cross a river which is impossible by a fellow sea serpent chap by the name of Steven Magnet, who is dreadfully upset about his mustache and not allowing us to cross. But, clever me, I have to sacrifice part of my tail to repair his mustache. With that, he helped us get across the river. And that's how I got my Element.
James: All that to fix some snake's mustache, ugh, lame.
Edward: Oh shut up James. Sorry about that Rarity.
Pony Rarity: None take darling. Element of Generosity, who should be worthy of wielding your outstanding power and spawn a new shiny Element of Harmony.
The purple diamond gem rose above the Steam Team and spin around, then it stopped. Then, a purple aura covers Emily and Rebecca, which surprised everyone.
Rebecca: Wow, can you believe it Emily, we're actually worthy in sharing the Element of Generosity's power.
Emily: This is so exciting; beyond anything I can imagine.
The two separated from the group and joined the rest of the Steam Team.
Pony Rarity: Fluttershy darling, care to tell them your Element.
Pony Flutters: Oh, umm, well I'm Fluttershy, and I represent the Element of Kindness, and how I got it is quite adorable. While we're on our trek to get the Elements, we encountered an angry manticore, and my friends decide to fight the poor thing, but I approached it nice and calmly. And I saw that it had a thorn stuck in his paw, the poor thing was crying in pain, so I removed it and the cutie is back to his normal self, pain free.
James: (Blinks twice) Wow, was not expecting that at all.
Henry: What do you expect, she loves animals.
Pony Flutters: Element of Kindness, who should be worthy of wielding your power and spawn a new Element of Harmony.
The pink butterfly gem hovered over Henry and Toby, and shined a pink aura around them to which everyone expected.
Toby: I always knew you will always carry the Element of Kindness in you Henry.
Henry: (Chuckles) Well, I aim to please.
The two walked over to the rest of the Steam Team, that's when Princess Twilight toward them and stopped.
Princess Twilight: Since these Elements have picked each and every one of you, do you promise to wield them for good and to help others whenever they need it.
Thomas, Edward, Gordon, James, Rebecca, Henry, Percy, Toby, Emily & Nia: We promise! We promise! We promise! We promise! We promise! We promise! We promise!
Princess Twilight: Then it's settled, I present to you, Steam Team, your new Elements of Harmony.
Then, the jewels start glowing as a glittering stream of their power to the Steam Team. A light started shining and everyone had to shield their eyes. Princess Twilight: And finally Emily, a pony who acts like the motherly figure of your awesome team, shared with these characteristics, royal, stern and self-reassurance, she represents the Element of Courage!

With the Steam Team all powered up, the group could only stare and mesmerize at their majesty. Sunset and Starlight were so amazed by them, they started shedding tears.
Starlight Glimmer: (Sniffles) This is so beautiful.
Sunset Shimmer: (Sniffles) You're not wrong there. And Thomas is looking so majestic, I can't help myself!
Sunset charged towards Thomas and lunged for him which made him topple to the ground as she gripped him in her hooves in a big hug. Everyone was laughing at the two, as Thomas and Sunset looked at each other.
Thomas: Well, this is something.
Sunset Shimmer: You have no idea, my cute and sexy prince. (Kisses his cheek)
Her hoof went to his mane as she trailed it up and down like she's trailing her fingers through his hair. She then went to a kissing frenzy and starting kissing his cheek multiple times.
Thomas: Gah, hey! Stop it! (Laughs) Stop it! (Laughs)
With that moment right there, everyone laughed at their cute little moment with each other. Meanwhile, at the castle, Chrysalis is watching the horizon still content on her conquest.
Queen Chrysalis: The final fight is upon us my changelings, soon all of Ponyville and Canterlot will feel our total power and might. Arm yourselves, protect yourselves, no excuses, no retreats, no setbacks. The time is nearing, I would finish what I started all those years ago.
