The Fate of the First Hero of Light

Geir climbs the stairs to the throne room.

"Zelda."

"GEIR!" screams a startled Zelda.

"What is the matter?"

"I am just glad to see you. Are you sure there was another timeline? I cannot seem to recall it."

"Absolutely Zelda without a doubt look at these contracts and documents."

"GEIR I AM RIGHT HERE! Please look at me!" another Zelda is standing in front of Geir.

"Why can you not see me?"

Geir walks through the other Zelda and exits the throne room.

"Why can no one see me?"

The Zelda sitting on the throne stands up and moves to exit, the other Zelda moves in front of her.

"STOP! WAIT! I AM HERE!" Zelda walks through and past the other Zelda.

Zelda is alone in the throne room.

"What is happening to me?"

"Zelda is that you?"

The voice Zelda she knows it instantly.

"GEIR IS IT YOU?"

"Yes, it is no need to shout."

Geir enters the throne room and looks at her.

"Can people see you?"

"No, they cannot. What is happening?" asks Zelda.

"We are dying Zelda."

"WHAT DID YOU SAY?" screams Zelda.

"Can you remember of the other world?" asks Geir.

"Yes, we were busy rebuilding our broken Kingdom."

"I see." Geir is thinking.

"Which Geir are you?"

"The same as your world." speaks the Geir of the future that returned to his past.

"What is happening to us Geir?" asks Zelda

"We are the dream that is disappearing."

"The dream Geir?" says Zelda.

"Zelda did a person contact you and tell you of the timelines?"

"Yes, she explained that they would soon merge. She said we should not worry."

"..." Geir is thinking.

"What is the matter, why did you say we are the dream?" asks Zelda.

"Zelda while I have been in our different realm I have looked at many people. They are going about their business like normal."

"Geir that does not seem to be something to be alarmed about?"

"You are correct, but the way they go about their business is the problem." speaks Geir.

"Why would you say that?"

"If recently you discovered you had lived a different life and that you had received your memories and experiences. Would you still be able to go about your own business unperturbed and without worries?" asks Geir.

"Yes, you are correct that does seem odd. What is happening Geir?"

"They have most likely forgotten of their other lives completely."

"FORGOTTEN!?" screams Zelda.

"Yes, to protect their minds sanity. They must have somehow stored or forgotten the memories."

"Can a person really do such a thing?" says a shocked Zelda.

"Can you clearly remember the time that you were hurt the most in your heart?"

"Not particularly why?"

"The pain you felt how extreme was it?"

"It was the most painful memory I had ever felt." Zelda is trying to recall the memory.

"Yet you do not remember it clearly, even though that should be an important memory."

"I understand Geir why are we different?" asks Zelda.

"Maybe all the other people experienced the same thing when their other time's persons died."

"I see. Where will we go?" asks a Zelda.

"I do not know Zelda, maybe nowhere."

"NOWHERE! What do you mean Geir?"

"We are not really alive. We are just memories of a different world that does not exists anymore." says Geir.

"So that world really is gone."

"It seems that way."

"Geir I do not want to die."

"Zelda..."

"Geir is there nothing we can do?" asks Zelda.

"I do not know. We can try to forcefully take our bodies. But if that is not possible we will be absorbed immediately and disappear.

"Yes, that would be the case." says a sad Zelda.

"Let us leave here for now.

Suddenly the scene changes there is a spacious room with many gambling spots. Cards are being flipped and handed out, balls are being spun and small round chips are being placed. There are many people inside of the room.

"Geir what is happening!?" asks Zelda.

Zelda I just changed the scene for us. I do not want to die in the musty room, you call the throne room."

"Hahahaha." Zelda is laughing.

"Zelda are you well? Have you gone insane?"

"WHAT! Why would you say that?"

"I have never heard you laugh before. It must be the strain, pull yourself together!"

"Hahahahaha." Zelda is laughing again.

"Geir you are the one acting funny. Having a normal conversation are you unwell?"

"What do you mean a normal conversation?" says Geir.

"Well you would always come into the throne room, give me orders, hand me papers and fight with Sir Izdryn and Sir Hunfrey then leave immediately."

"Is that true?"

"Yes, it is. Can I have one of these drinks?" asks Zelda.

"Yes."

Zelda takes a cocktail glass.

There is a red liquid and a small fruit on a stick inside.

"Down it goes!" Zelda takes the drink and in one motion empties the glass.

"GEIR!"

"Zelda?" asks a worried Geir.

"Something is not right here!"

"What do you mean Zelda?"

"I have never tasted something like this, it has a unique taste. Zelda is sniffing at the empty glass.

"What do you mean Zelda?" says Geir.

"This dream might be real!"

"Zelda?"

"Fetch a drink you have never drank before and taste it!"

Geir goes to the bar and grabs a bottle.

He opens it and pours it into a glass. He drinks it.

"Unbelievable Zelda it is true. I have never tasted this before, yet it has a unique taste!"

"Geir bring those bottles over here. Let us taste them and compare our findings!" says Zelda.

"Good idea!"

After many times all the bottles are consumed.

"Hahahahaha" Zelda is laughing.

"Zelda?"

"I never thought I would have fun with you!"

"Am I really such an unlikeable person?"

"That was not what I meant."

"Oh I see...what do you want to do next?"

"Can we go to my homelands?" asks the smiling Zelda.

"I have not seen much of it. You will have to take us there."

The scene changes

There is a massive sand storm.

Two small children are running towards a large compound.

There are many buildings in the walled off, homestead.

While walking through the homes of the inhabitants.

"So this is where you grew up?"

"Yes, wonderful is it not!"

"Yes, it is. Still even when you were little you were annoying." says Geir.

"WHAT DID YOU SAY!?"

"Look your brothers and sisters, they want to play also with your mother, but you are hanging on her dress."

"Mother...Geir take me to your home."

The scene changes

The halls of House Dominitus.

A boy he has bright shining eyes.

He is carrying a large suitcase there are many papers sticking out of the barely closed leather bag. The small boy is carrying it with a big smile, he is walking next to a massive man. The man has a stern look on his face. The other House members move out of their way when they see him. They form a line with their backs against the wall as he moves towards them. The little boy is talking to the massive man. The man's eyes soften as he looks at the young boy. The other House members stare with complete disdain at the young child.

"This is terrible Geir!"

"What do you mean Zelda?"

"Is this boy your younger cousin? Why does everyone hate him?"

"What do you mean my younger cousin? That boy is me Zelda!"

"Geir in a thousand suncycles I will never believe that. Where are you hiding? Surely you are waiting to kill the large man!" says Zelda.

I put my hand to my face.

It is not there anymore. Where my forearm was there is a dim light coming out of the hole.

"It has started."

"Did you only notice now?"

"Zelda I am sorry for..."

"BE QUIET DO NOT SAY ANYMORE!"

"Zelda?"

"I want to hate you till the end!"

Zelda instantly regrets what she said.

Suddenly both of Geir's arms have disappeared.

"Yes, that would be the case."

The scene changes.

They are back in the throne room.

"Zelda I am just going to lay down for a bit."

Geir moves to sit against the wall.

His feet disappear his legs are turning translucent. They are almost gone.

Is this how it ends?

He cannot hear anymore.

He sees Zelda.

She is screaming at him, she is furious her mouth will not stop moving.

All those suncycles of hell I put her through, she must be chastising me.

He only has his upper legs left.

If only there was a way, even If I could just get rid of her, to be able to die in peace.

"If you could only choose one who would it be?"

Zelda has been screaming at Geir for long times, his eyes are closed he has almost completely disappeared. "...WHY DID YOU MAKE ME! ALL THOSE TIMES YOU FORCED ME.."

Geir's whole body becomes like that of burnt out wood. It is gray and looks fragile.

The lips of the crumbling husk speaks

"Take her back."

Zelda feels her body is being restored. Her translucent arms are growing more visible.

"WHAT DID YOU DO?"

She reaches out to grab Geir. Before she can touch him he turns to dust and disappears.

Zelda opens her eyes she is on the floor.

"YOUR MAJESTY!" "Your Highness what is the matter?"

"WHERE IS GEIR?"

"He told us he would be in the barracks today."

"I HAVE TO FIND HIM!"

Zelda is running as fast as she can. The Knights all stand at attention when she approaches them.

"WHERE IS GEIR? I NEED TO SEE HIM!"

"YOUR MAJESTY RIGHT THIS WAY!"

Zelda enters the room.

The barracks is full of smoke. The pipes of the soldiers lay on the floor, their drinks have been spilled.

They are standing next to a person laying on the floor.

"SIR GEIR What is wrong? Wake up!"

"MOVE!" Zelda shoves the Knights away.

She heals him, Geir wakes up.

"Geir I am so relieved!"

"Zelda what are you doing here?"

"You saved me in the dream world. Then left of course I would come looking for you!"

"Dream world?"

Zelda starts crying.

"YOUR MAJESTY!" The Knights do not know how to act. Geir signals to them.

"Zelda let us leave." She nods.

They enter the throne room. Zelda explains.

"Zelda I will call for a healer to come see you."

"NO, IT IS TRUE!'

"A dream world. Where you and myself went, to wait to die, because we were merging with ourselves?"

"I know it sounds ridiculous. Try to remember Geir you saved me!"

"What did I say?"

"Take her ba...NOOOOO!"

Zelda falls on the floor and starts sobbing.

"WHY..."

"Zelda stay here I will call the healer!" Geir runs out of the room.

"Are you here? Are you enjoying my suffering?" Zelda is talking to someone in the empty throne room.

Zelda's shadow extends a long distance.

A woman stands out of it.

Her body is black like the night, she barely has a form.

She has red eyes, the irises are formed from patterns they move like concentric rings inside of each other.

In Zelda's mind see hears the woman speak.

"He chose you."

"Give him back to me!"

"That is not possible."

"Are you not god? Just do it."

"..."

"I want him, give him to me."

"..."

"He was the one who saved the other world and helped rebuild mine. Why should he disappear?"

"This is the same Geir..."

"If that was the case why did he have to choose? If I was the same Zelda then he need not have made a choice. It would suit you as well?"

"..."

"Just do it give him back to me."

"I cannot do that." says the voice.

"BE QUIET IDIOT! THIS WHOLE PROBLEM EXISTS BECAUSE OF YOUR INCOMPETENCE!"

"What do you mean?"

"That you did not stop time from being tampered with. Now I have to suffer."

"..."

"I understand why Geir was always upset with me, can you not respond are you even listening to me?"

"Why should I bring him back?" says the voice.

"Because I told you to!"

"..."

"You do not know what is going on in the real world. Trying to appeal to you with logic and reasoning will have no meaning. I am the Ruler of the Kingdom of Hyrule, that Geir is more valuable than the one I have."

"Even then..."

"You did not fulfill your task why should I suffer?"

"My task?"

"You should have stopped this disaster from happening. Give him back you cannot be trusted, I would rather have him to protect us."

"I understand."

Geir enters the throne room.

"Zelda the healer is coming..."

Geir goes limp. He falls on one of the tables.

CRASH

All the expensive trinkets are broken.

He is unresponsive.

"geir, geir ,geir, Geir, GEIR!"

"GODDAMMIT! WHAT IS IT!?"

Tears are falling on his face.

"Geir is it really you?"

"Where am I?"

"You are back in the real world!"

"ZELDA WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO?"

"Geir I was talking to the shadow god and she agreed to bring you back."

"ZELDA I WAS SO CLOSE!"

"To what Geir?"

"Thor broke the wooden fake Mjolnir Warhammer, I snuck into their armoury when we were looting Asgard, on my head. Great Father Glorizeat Bristlespine and our party were disguised as the Titans, I was so close to killing Thor!"

"GEIR! What do you mean?"

"It was revenge Zelda once the gods of Asgard refuse to pay a citation we had issued them, for parking their flaming chariots on the Dwarven consulates lawn. The penalty's and late fee's had grown so large we could not take it anymore. I went to collect the gold they owed us Thor ripped it up right in our faces. That was grounds for war. The order was given, I and my fellow Dwarven Warriors attacked then raided the Halls of Asgard again! After that we..."

Geir talks many long moments.

All of the Castles inhabitants are called and everyone listens attentively to Great Father Geir Tulok's adventures in the Dwarven Afterlife.

"And that is where I find myself now. Zelda what is the emergency surely there must be an armageddon scale disaster, waiting to befall the realm, for you to be calling me back."

"Well about that you see Geir..."

"WHAT DID YOU SAY? I ALMOST KILLED THOR AND YOU CALLED ME BACK FOR..."

Zelda's eyes start tearing up.

"Geir I am..."

Geir puts his hand on her head.

"Thank you Zelda. I am truly blessed to have you as a friend."

"Really Geir!"

"Yes, Zelda!"

Zelda is crying, she hugs Geir.

"Geir thank you for coming back." speaks the teary eyed Queen.

"Zelda?" asks the Queen being hugged Geir.

"Yes, Geir?"

"What were we doing here?" asks Geir.

"What do you mean Geir?"

"I have been gone for many ages. I cannot remember what was happening here." speaks the confused looking Geir.

"WHAT DID YOU SAY?"

Finish.
