Ash looked out the window to see rain falling down. Looks like camp would be inside for today. Apparently he had given everyone quite the scare from the incident yesterday. Ash sighed, no sense in delaying it.
"Good you're awake. We're spending the day in the cabins, so we're bringing activities there." Chloe said. "Rain isn't supposed to let up until tonight so we're getting to make as few trips as possible.
"Are you going to be okay to do this? If you aren't up for it, no one will blame you." Professor Cerise said.
"No, a day inside should be fine. I don't want to leave you short handed." Ash said.
"Alright, everyone grab a cart, and a poncho. Then head to the cabins. Goh and Ren you're with me. Ash you're with Chloe and Chrysa." Professor Cerise said, handing out ponchos.
Ash followed Chloe and Chrysa making a bee line for the cabin. Ash already knew his fate, Chloe, Chrysa, and 'Ashley' were spending the day with the girls. As the girls were having breakfast, Ash went onto the cabins porch to think in peace.
"Penny for your thoughts." Chrysa said.
"Did Chloe send you to talk to me?" Ash asked.
"No, we're all worried about you. Ever since you came back from Alola your mind hasn't been all here, and with what happened yesterday it's frightening." Chrysa said.
"I just have things on my plate other than research right now. I'm trying to find someone I've lost." Ash admitted.
"She's special isn't she." Chrysa said knowingly.
"How did you?" Ash asked.
"Don't worry no one said anything, but I can put two and two together. So do you have feelings for her?" Chrysa asked.
"No, I mean yes, I mean… I don't know. I shared a kiss with her the last time I saw her." Ash said reminiscing.
"That's sweet, look I'm sure she's out there looking for a way back to you too. For now though, there's a group of girls in there that we need to entertain." Chrysa said.
"Not sure how good I'll be at that." Ash admitted.
At the first mention of makeovers, Ash noped right back out of the cabin. He had a much better idea, but needed help. Focusing, he created a small aura barrier on the palm of his hand. Lifting it above him, Ash made his way over to the boy's cabin.
'Knock Knock Knock'
"Who is it?" Goh asked honestly.
"It's me." Ash said impatiently.
Stepping outside, Goh turned and faced Ash.
"Is everything okay? Also how are you dry?" Goh asked.
"Everything's fine, and a smaller version of what I did yesterday. Look, do you remember what we did when I broke my ankle?" Ash said.
"The giant pillow fort? What are you thinking?" Goh asked.
"I'm thinking bigger, care to help?" Ash asked.
"We'll need more help than just us." Goh said.
"So we get some Pokémon involved. Bring the kids in the lab, and seal off the parts they aren't allowed in." Ash offered.
"Well then what are we waiting for?" Goh asked excitedly.
A long while later
"Have any of you seen Ashley or Goh?" Professor Cerise said over the radio.
"Ashley walked out for some air a while ago, I didn't think she'd just leave." Chloe responded. "What about Goh?"
"He went with her." Professor Cerise said, somewhat worried.
Their conversation was interrupted by knocks at the cabin doors.
"If you all will follow me, I have a surprise in the main lab." Ash said to the cabin.
After the larger group had made it into the lab, and dried off, they were shown what Ash and Goh had been working on. A blanket and pillow fort putting the previous one to shame.
"This fort has paths, mazes, lounges, pizzas, and room to explore. Have fun." Ash said.
"Ash, Goh. A word." Professor Cerise said sternly.
"Before you begin, the lab proper is blocked off, along with any personal quarters." Ash defended.
"I was just going to say next time at least run it by me, we could have moved around people to help." Professor Cerise said.
"Oh we had help." Goh said, holding up six pokeballs.
"A fair bit of it." Ash said holding up another six.
"Any sign of Impidimp or my Pokémon when you were doing that?" Chloe asked.
"We'll show you." Goh said heading down a path.
"We found them unconcious right in here." Ash said, opening the door to the lab.
"They seem fine otherwise." Goh added in.
"Ash, if you can't get Impidimp under control." Professor Cerise began.
"I don't think this is Impidimp though. Look at them. They're scratched and a little burned, neither of which is what Impidimp does." Ash explained.
"So it might be another thing like Gengar? A wild Pokémon causing trouble?" Chloe asked.
"It's definitely possible, Vermillion is a port city, it could just be lost and away from home." Ash said.
"So what are you doing for now?" Professor Cerise asked.
"Nothing, we don't want to spook the campers, so unless we have to, we'll wait until later to send someone in." Goh said.
"Now you said something about pizzas if I remember correctly." Professor Cerise said inquisitively.
Ash walked around the large fort, everyone had seemed to find something to enjoy. He turned today from being a day stuck inside to a day exploring inside.
Later that night
"Yawn. Ash, what are you doing up this late." Chloe asked.
"I'm putting out food for Impidimp, listening for not he deserves to eat." Ash said.
"Can't you sense him, or connect with him?" Chloe asked.
"I haven't been able to do it with all my Pokémon, just a select few, like Pikachu." Ash said.
"Why not send him in?" Chloe asked.
"Great idea Chloe, let's send in the living thunderbolt into a metal container." Ash said sarcastically. "Besides, if something else is in there, I want to know what we're fighting first."
