Part 88: He is my rival

Over in the capital at magic knight headquarters. Yami was explaining the current situation of what has happened to Finral. "Apparently this is what the eye of the midnight sun was after all along, Marx and Owen started acting differently," he said before clenching his fist. "It also happened to Charlotte," he said.

"No way they got her too, are you okay," Finral said looking surprised.

"Don't worry about me, Im staying focused so I can get her back," Yami said before taking a breath. "I know shes stronger then this, anyway I'm glad they didn't get you too," he said.

"So basically a lot of stuffs happened while you were out taking a nap,".

"Huh, you know I almost died right," Finral said looking down.

"Hey I was worried about you," Yami said calmly.

"Yeah right," said Finral. He then looked surprised as he realized something. "Wait whats wrong with them, could it be the same thing that happened to Langris?" He asked.

"Yeah it definitely would make the most sense," said Yami.

Finral looked angry as he looked down. "So their being controlled," he said before looking down. "It does make sense though, the anger coming from Langris and wanting to kill me without any hesitation," he thought.

"Don't worry Langris, I will save you," he thought looking determined.

"So you ready to go," Yami said.

"Yes sir," said Finral as he pointed his right arm out and opened a spacial portal. The two of them then ran through. Meanwhile far away from the capital outside a village. Magna was taking deep breaths before a flame appeared in his hand. "Flame magic, explosive scatter shot," he said before throwing the fire ball. It then changed multiple fire blasts and hit a small hill.

Magna let out a breath as multiple flames appeared. "Not enough," he said calmly.

"Hey flame head," a female voice said behind him. He smiled seeing Vanessa sitting on crazy cyclone and holding a bottle. "Have you been missing me yet," she said standing up.

"No but I'm glad you're here," said Magna as two of them kissed. "How was Finral?" He asked.

"Sadly he was still out when I checked on him," Vanessa said before looking at the flames. "Looks like you already got a head start on your training," she said.

"Yeah," said Magna as he looked at his right hand.

Vanessa looked confused by the look on her boyfriends face. "You don't seem happy," she said.

"Asta, Noelle and Luck are off destroying the midnight sun and I'm here," he said clenching his fist. "I outrank them, so I need to become stronger otherwise how am I suppose to fight alongside them," he said.

He then felt Vanessas hand on his shoulder. He looked to see her smiling, "I'm sure you can get stronger, but don't forget there are others to help you," she said.

"Thanks Vanessa," he said before giving her a quick kiss.

"Now cmon," said Vanessa grabbing his hand. "Surely you can take a break to hang out with your girlfriend," she said.

"Sure why not," Magna said smiling.

But during this at the eye of the midnight sun hideout. Asta had been taken to the room where the golden dawn members were. Mimosa was being helped up by a steel pillar from Klaus magic. While Klaus, Hammond and Yuno had changed.

"Hey whats wrong with you, snap out of it," said Asta looking serious.

"Stop," said Klaus. "Just who do you think we are," he said pushing up his glasses.

"What are you talking about, were both magic knights so snap out of it already," Asta said looking angry.

Klaus looked surprised. "This body, it's reacting to the boys words," he thought before looking angry. "Enough, don't speak to us like you know us," he said as a steel drill formed above him.

"This is over," Hammond said as glass formed in front of him. The glass then shot at Asta who was wielding the demon slayer sword. He destroyed the glass shards and cut through the steel drill.

As Asta stood on the ground he looked surprised as two drills shot up. He jumped out of the way but one drill still hit his right side. As he landed on the ground blood dripped from the wound.

"Asta," said Mimosa.

"I'm alright," said Asta looking up, "I told someone I would make it back and Noelle wouldn't be happy with me If I didn't make it back either," he said.

"Don't rough him up to much," Rhya said. "Then again it doesn't matter, as long as we get those swords and girmoire it doesn't matter what happens to him," he said before looking at Licht.

"He hasn't moved much, even with his girmoire and swords right in front of him," he thought. "Then again he did use the highest level of forbidden magic to bring back his friends, so he's probably going to take a while," he thought.

"I'm not done yet," said Asta getting Rhyas attention as he stood up. "I told someone Id make it back, so I'm gonna get stronger and beat you," he said. "Then one day, I'm gonna become the wizard king," he said.

With Yuno. He was seeing the past and the day he and Asta became Rivals. His eyes opened as Klaus spoke up. "Enough, its time we finish this," he said as he and Hammond each fired a spell.

Asta stood ready when a large tornado destroyed spells making him look surprised. "Save your breath Asta," Yuno said making him look surprised. Mimosa smiled with tears in her eyes as Yuno stood in front of them.

"The one who's going to be the wizard king is going to be me," he said smiling.

"Yuno, I'm so glad your alright," Mimosa said getting his attention.

"Asta, can you cut her down," Yuno said.

"Yeah sure," said Asta before cutting the chains holding Mimosa to the pillar. Before she fell Yuno caught her as she hugged him.

"I'm sorry if I worried you," said Yuno as he put her down.

"No I'm okay, but are you sure your okay," Mimosa said noticing he was still glowing.

"Yeah you sure your you," said Asta. "Your ears are all pointy and your all glowing," he said.

"Of course its him shorty," Bell said.

"Who are you calling short, at least I'm more then three inches tall," Asta said looking annoyed.

'Hey five inches," said Bell when Klaus spoke up.

"You've awakened," he said. "Were glad your with us now, so stand away from them and come join us," he said.

"Do you mind," said Bell. "Were trying to talk here," she said as wind blew at them. Surprising them.

"I see, so he hasn't fully awakened yet," said Klaus. "The owner of that body is stubborn, so will just have to push him out," he said. He and Hammond both sent out their spells but Yuno easily destroyed them with another tornado making them look surprised.

"Those bodies belong to my squamates," said Yuno before putting his hand down revealing the serious look on his face. "Leave them before I force you to," he said making them look annoyed.

"Looks like will have to try something else," said Klaus.

"Yes," Hammond said before glass and steel surrounded them and grew larger.

"This doesn't look good," Asta said looking worried.

"You two stay back, with their power I wont be able to protect both of you," Yuno said calmly.

Asta seemed surprised before he started laughing which made Mimosa look confused. "Yeah right," he said before holding the demon slayer sword in front of him. "I want in on this too, Mimosa," he said.

"Yes," she said.

"Would you mind standing back and giving me and Yuno some more room to work with," said Asta.

"Yes right," said Mimosa before looking at Yuno. He nodded at her and she nodded at him before stepping back.

The glass and steel stopped growing before forming what looked like a small moving fortress on wheels. "With this magic and girmoire, the magic looks much better," Hammond said.

"Yes it does make things easier for us," said Klaus. The two of them then stood on the fortress. "Compound spell, charging fortress," they said.

"They're powerful so I cant afford to hold back, so don't get in the way," Yuno said smiling.

"Yeah, right back at you," said Asta. Then Asta took on his black form while Yuno was using spirit dive. "Lets go," he said as the two of them rushed at the moving fortress.

"You will not stop us," Klaus said as glass shards shot at Asta. Asta looked serious as he cut through the shards easily and reached the small fortress. Klaus and Hammond looked surprised as Asta easily cut their spell in two.

Yuno then pointed his left arm forward. "Spirit storm," he said sending out blast of magic power. The fortress was completely destroyed and Klaus and Hammond were sent flying back unconscious.

"This is impossible," said Rhya. "That brats using anti magic and thanks to reincarnation magic the other guy got a huge power boost," he thought. But then as Licht looked at Klaus and Hammond falling. He suddenly remembered the destruction of that day.

Everyone then looked surprised as Licht flew in front of Klaus and Hammond. He then held them up and lowered them to the ground. "This isnt good," said Asta.

"The magic power coming off him is intense," thought Yuno as Licht started walking over to the sword in the room. Asta then looked confused as something started moving underneath his robe.

"Huh," he said when Nero popped out. "Nero, how long were you in there, ow ow ow," he said as the bird started pecking him on the forehead. Licht then picked up the sword as it began to turn white.

"Asta," said Yuno.

"Yeah I know," he said as he took out the demon dweller sword from his grimoire. "This guy is strong," he said when Licht quickly stood in front of him. The two of them looked surprised.

"How did he do that, its like he melted in with the wind and I couldn't sense his Ki," Asta thought. Then Licht took the demon dweller sword out of Astas hand and held it up in the air. The sword then turned white making Asta look surprised.

"Asta move," said Yuno pushing Asta as Licht sent out a slash of white magic power.

"Looks like we have to go up against the leader of the elves now," said Asta as he flew at Licht. Yuno sent slashes of wind a Licht who dodged them and sent slashes from the demon dweller sword at Yuno. Then Asta flew at Licht who blocked his sword with the first sword he grabbed.

As Yuno watched them fight he formed a large wind bow with multiple wind arrows. He tried to aim at Licht as he fought Asta. But Licht then sent Asta flying and jumped quickly at Yuno. He destroyed the wind bow and sent Yuno flying at Asta. Yuno hit Asta and two of them were sent flying into the wall.

"I cant keep this form up much longer," Asta thought as he stood back up.

"Were not doing so well, any idea," said Yuno as he flew in front of the wall.

"Don't worry about it, this is the part where I surpass my limits," said Asta smiling.

"Is that seriously your plan," Yuno said when Licht sent out multiple slashes.

The two of them jumped out of the way and Licht pointed his hand right hand at Licht. "Binding magic, raging tempest," he said, then multiple tornados surrounded Licht.

Then as they cleared Licht looked like he was trapped in the middle. "Don't miss," Yuno said as he landed next to Asta.

"Yeah right," he said before flying at Licht. Asta cut through the trap but Licht wasn't in it anymore. "Wait where did he," he said before Licht sent him flying with a sword. Asta went through multiple walls before ending up in a large room with a pool of water. He blocked Lichts first attack but then he was sent flying into the water. His black form vanishing.

"Asta no,' Yuno said looking annoyed. He then started pointing his left arm forward, "Wind spirit magic, spirit storm," he said sending out a large blast of magic power. Licht pointed the demon dweller sword forward as the spell hit it.

Yuno then looked surprised as the spell stoped and Licht wasn't harmed at all. "Did he absorb the attack," he thought noticing part of the sword was glowing green.

"Ha, this is just one of the original powers of the demon dweller sword," Rhya thought smiling as Yuno and Licht kept fighting.

"Why cant I move," thought Asta. "And what did that guy do to my sword, this sucks," he thought.

"Cmon body, move already," he thought. Outside the hideout Licht and Yuno were now flying around as they continued to fight.

"I cant find an opening," Yuno thought looking annoyed. "I need to do something," he thought. They flew further up with Licht sending another slash at Yuno.

"Not yet," thought Yuno.

As they flew further up Yuno dodged again before pointing his left arm forward. "Mana zone," he said as green light appeared behind Licht.

"Wait that's the same thing madam royal," Rhya thought before looking up. "Look out," he said.

"Spirit storm," he said as the spell fired at Licht from behind him.

But Licht pointed the demon dweller sword and hit the spell. Beginning to absorb it.

"Ha, not fully awakened yet but he still was able to take him by surprise," Rhya thought smiling. "Well after all, he is Lichts," he thought.

But back in the room with the water. Astas eyes opened as he grabbed the demon slayer sword and took off in his black form. Passing by Rhya who looked surprised.

"What," he thought before Asta took off through the roof.

"This is where Asta, pushes past his limits," Yuno thought looking determined.

"Not yet," said Asta as he flew higher.

"They're attacking like they had this planned, just who are these guys," thought Rhya.

"Your not killing Yuno," Asta said as he flew next to his rival.

"Or Asta either," said Yuno as he brought his left arm back.

"HE IS MY RIVAL," they both yelled attacking Licht. But their attack was blocked with Licht letting go of the first sword he had grabbed. Asta then noticed the sword falling.

"He blocked our attack with that sword," he thought before grabbing it. But then Asta and Yuno looked surprised as Licht pointed the demon dweller sword at them. Then he fired the spell he absorbed at them.

The spell sent them flying back at the hideout. Inside Mimosa noticed wind starting to surround her. "This is Yunos," she thought before looking up surprised as the ceiling exploded. Revealing Asta and Yuno yelling as they tried to block the spell. But the spell fired through the hideout and hit the ground below. Causing a massive explosion and destroying some of the surrounding area.

The groups that escaped earlier put up spells to protect them from the blast. When the blast stopped Licht flew above the hideout. But in a crater Asta lied down on the ground unconscious with his girmoire open next to him. The sword he grabbed going into it and changing color.
