As the dozen head home, the three oldest were very curious. "Sirs?" Asked the oldest youngling and only femme youngling.
"Yes?" Optimus answered, carrying two of the really little sparklings. Megatron continued walking on for now without responding.
"Why did you take us?" She asked, curious.
"Because, everyone deserves a family to love them" Optimus replied, making sure the group followed and that Megatron didn't get too tired. "Do any of you olde ones have names?" The two youngling mechs, one a flyer and one a triple changer, shook their helms.
"I do. I was called Iron witch" the femme replied, hating her given name.
"No one deserves a name like that" Megatron stated, stunning all but Optimus and the three youngest sparklings who were too young to notice.
"It's the only one I've ever known" she replied, her grounder frame sagging.
"I think you deserve a better name. A name like Jewel, considering your coloration is like a bunch of jewels" Optimus replied, much to the femmes shock.
"You really think so?" She asked. Optimus nodded.
Then the mech younglings spoke up. "What about me, sir?" The flyer mech youngling asked.
"I think Skywriter would be a good name for you" Megatron answered, making the mech youngling smile.
"And me?" The triple changer mech youngling asked.
"I think you should be called Recall" the femme suggested, hoping the mech liked it.
"Why did you pick that?" The mechling asked.
"Because your memory and recall is like nothing and no one else's. It's a compliment" she explained.
Then the triple changing mech youngling smiled when he realized she was talking about one of his best traits. "I like it, then. Thank you" Recall replied, grateful to have a name. Optimus smiled, three were now named, only seven left to name.
"And what about us?" Asked one of the older sparklings, wanting a name.
"Yes, I want a name too" uttered a second one, an undersized seeker youngling.
"Well, let's see here" Optimus replied, trying to think. Two of the older sparklings were femmes, one a grounder and the other a flyer, while the other two were mechs, one the undersized seekerling and the other a grounder. Optimus had to think carefully as he wanted just the right names. "How about Sunrise and Sunset for my flyers?" Optimus asked.
Both little flyers smiled. "I like sunset" the mech said while the femme indicated she was happy being Sunrise.
"And for the other two….Quartz and Onyx" Optimus offered up, noticing the coloration of the two grounder sparklings. Both indicated that they like their names. Now seven of little ones had names. The only three left were the three that were being carried between Megatron and Optimus, all three were mechs one was a triple changer and the other two were grounders.
"They need names too" Onyx pointed towards the little ones.
"Yes, they do, my son. Any ideas?" Optimus asked, wanting to involve the others.
"I think the little triple changer should be switchback" Jewel offered up.
The sparkling cooed, seeming to like the name. "And for the others?" Optimus asked.
"I think Peacekeeper and flasher" offered recall.
"I like peacekeeper, but why flasher for the other?" Optimus asked.
"Because, he was an experimental sparkling like I was and he has the ability to appear and disappear" Recall answered. Optimus nodded. That would make things tricky, but they could do this.
"Well, welcome all of you, to our family and our home" Optimus stated as they were closer to reaching home. Optimus and Megatron could only hope their other sparklings would accept these ones. Only time would tell.
