Summer Bay – Beach
Lee was sat on the sand playing with the sleeve of her red denim jacket when Lucas approached her and said: "I can't keep doing this."
Quickly standing up, Lee replies: "What?"
"I can't keep lying to everyone. We've got to tell the truth."
"No Lucas, come on you promised me. You can't say anything."
"Then when?" Lucas asks as he puts his hands in his short pockets.
"I don't know, I just. I just need to work out some stuff first."
"You keep saying that but you haven't figured anything out, and in the meantime people are getting really hurt."
"Yeah, I know and I'm sorry." Lee then begs again "Just give me a little more time please."
Lee suddenly looks behind Lucas which cause him to turn around to see what she was staring at.
Steve Braeburn starts to walk over to them while looking around to make sure no one was about to watch them all talking.
"I see you've taken my advice onboard and decided to stick together." Steve says to them.
"Well, what we've decided to do is none of your business" Lucas states as Lee stands behind him.
"As long as you're keeping our little secret everything is my business and you better make sure it stays a secret."
"We won't say anything." Lee cuts in.
Smiling, Steve replies: "Smart choice. I'm sure you'll make a very happy family when the baby comes."
Steve starts to walk away as Lucas says: "The baby? Don't you mean your baby? This is your own flesh and blood we are talking about here; doesn't that mean anything to you?"
Stopping and turning back around, Steve states with a hint of anger: "You listen here, you've got no right to judge me."
"I've got every right you pathetic coward." Lucas calls him.
"You just keep your mouth shut about this; you hear me?" Steve said, "Because you really don't want to back me into a corner, I can make life very difficult for both of you."
What the three of them hadn't noticed was that Sally who had been walking toward the Pier Diner on the path beside the beach, had stopped as soon as she saw them and was now watching what was going on.
Steve finishes speaking and then walks away leaving both Lee and Lucas just standing there and Sally a little confused as to what she had just watched.
(9:23am) 13 minutes later…
Summer Bay – Leah and Dan's House – Living Room
"How was the game?" Dan said as he noticed the boys coming back into the house.
"Awesome." Ryan replied.
"Yeah, I didn't realise rug rats could score that many goals." Drew laughed.
"I taught Ryan everything he knows." Dan stated while trying to do a trick with the football but ultimately failing.
"Yeah, right." Drew respond as he wasn't impressed.
Leah, who had been going through one of the boxes filled with Peter's stuff had a feeling the Dan wanted to talk with Drew alone: "Em, boys why don't we go and play in your room."
With the Leah, Ryan and VJ head off to play in the kids' room.
Just as Dan was about to say something to Drew there was a knock on the back door.
Summer Bay – Leah and Dan's House – Kitchen
Walking into the kitchen, Dan opened the door and said: "Hi Morag, thanks for coming over."
"Dan, you welcome." Morag replies as she walks into the house.
"Just go through." Dan said as he closed the door.
Summer Bay – Leah and Dan's House – Living Room
"Thank you." Morag said as she placed her bag on the table.
"Err, Morag Bellingham this is Drew Curtis." Dan says pointing towards Drew who was sat on the sofa.
"Drew." Morag said as the teen stood up and shook her hand "It's a great pleasure to meet you. I was your father's solicitor and even though we didn't always see eye to eye, he was a very very good man."
"Well, thank you and thanks for doing this." Drew replies.
"Oh, would you like a cup of tea?" Dan suddenly says.
"Oh, I think not." Morag replies "I think we should get started."
"Okay." Dan replies and is about to call for his wife just as she walks back into the room.
"Oh, hey Morag." Leah greets the woman.
"Leah."
"I'll move all this stuff." Leah says as she quickly moves everything off the table as the other three sit down.
Putting her glasses on, Morag starts as she goes through her briefcase: "Now, Peter drew up this will very recently, and he did leave very per specific instructions. First of which being that I am to read this letter before I read the contents of the will."
Pulling out the letter from her briefcase, Morag starts to read it: "Dear Dan, writing this was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do, but it is still a lot easier than it would have been than saying these things to your face. I know I wasn't always the brother I should have been, and you have plenty of good reasons over the years to cut me off, but you never did. I don't think you will ever know how much of a difference that made to my life which is why it has been so hard not telling you what I'm about to, but somehow it just never felt like the right time."
Morag pauses and for a couple of seconds she looks at Drew who is looking at the floor.
"I have a son; his name is Drew." Morag continues which causes Drew to look at her "And he's a great kid. It's only the last few years that I've known about him, but I love him and I need you to keep an eye on him for me. I know this will be a shock but there's no one else I trust like you. I'm sorry it had to be this way, but I know that if you're a half as good an uncle as you are a father, he'll be in very good hands. Thanks for everything, Peter."
Moving the letter out of the way, Morag asks if there are any questions before she starts to read the will.
"No." Dan quickly says while looking at his wife who shakes her head at the same time as Drew.
With that Morag starts to read the will: "I, Peter Kevin Baker being of sound mind, hereby state this to be my last will and testament. To my brother Daniel David Baker, I leave my car and the small share portfolio currently held in trust by my solicitor. And to my son Andrew Jacob Curtis, I leave the reminder of my estate. The sum of twenty thousand dollars."
Drew starts to smile with happiness but that suddenly changes when Morag reads the next part of the will: "To be held in trust for him by my brother Daniel Baker until he reaches the age of 18."
"But that's over six months away." Drew says with hint of annoyance.
"Err, Drew those were your father's wishes." Morag reminds him.
"I can't wait that long." Drew informs her.
"Well, I'm sorry but they're the conditions of the will and they are not negotiable." Morag says standing her ground in terms of Peter's will.
Drew shakes his head as Dan just stars at him with a slight look of anger on his face.
