"Much better." Ash said stepping out of a changing room. He had on a light blue snowsuit, black gloves, and a red scarf.
"Looking good." Chloe joked, she had an outfit simmilar to what Dawn had worn last time they were here.
"Can you even move in that?" Goh asked in one of snowpoint's blue jackets.
"They're almost like fluffy overalls you know." Chloe said thinking. "Something you've worn a fair bit of lately."
"Nothing wrong with having a style." Ash defended.
"Style no, whatever this is, yes." Chloe said, pushing Ash back in. "Hold on I'll find you something."
A while later
"Stupid shop only having two types of coats." Ash said annoyed.
"We're in a foot of snow, be happy we have anything." Chloe said.
"So which way to the Torterra?" Goh asked.
"Best bet is to head south towards Mt Coronet." Ash replied.
"So we walk?" Chloe asked, hoping for a different answer.
"You're more than welcome to." Ash said clambering onto Torterra.
"Can we ride as well?" Goh asked.
"Ask him, I'm not the one that has to carry you." Ash said.
Truthfully Torterra didn't seem bothered by Ash, but Goh and Chloe weren't sure on how to ask if he'd carry all three of them.
"Don't worry, he doesn't bite much." Ash reassured.
"Torterra? Hey, I was wondering if we could get a ride on your back through the snow, I mean if it's alright with you that is." Chloe stammered.
Torterra simply nodded, before lowering down slightly to allow the others access. Once they were safely on, Ash looked at Torterra with a wicked grin.
"Okay Torterra, use Rock Climb to get through the snow, and find the other Torterra." Ash said.
Goh and Chloe held on as Torterra moved at a surprising speed for his size.
"Look at them." Ash said in amazement as they approached.
Turtwigs, Grotels, and Torterras some even making Ash's look small in comparison all in a large pack.
"What do you think they're doing?" Ash asked.
"Isn't that why we're here? To find out what they're doing." Chloe responded.
"Way to ruin the moment, but yes that's why we are…". Ash was interrupted.
His phone was going off for another challenger.
"Ash please don't make us stand in the snow." Chloe pleaded.
"Don't worry, you guys stay here with Torterra, I'll be back in a bit." Ash said hopping off.
Inside Mt Coronet
"So you must be Sam." Ash said approaching the trainer.
"Yeah, and I guess that makes you Ash." Sam responded.
"The one and only. How big of a battle would you like?" Ash asked.
"Three on three sound good to you?" Sam responded.
"Perfect. Ready when you are." Ash said holding up a pokeball.
"Come on out Drifblim!"
"Gliscor I choose you!"
"Drifblim use Shadow Ball!"
"Gliscor use Stone Edge!"
Gliscor and Drifblim easily dodged out of the way of each other's attacks.
"Time for a direct approach use Fire Fang!"
"Drifblim use Stockpile!"
Gliscor hit his mark, but it didn't deal as much damage as Ash thought it would have.
"Gliscor use Steel Wing!"
"Drifblim use Stockpile!"
Again Gliscor his, but it seemed to do even less damage. Drifblim on the other hand seemed to be moving a bit slower.
"Gliscor try for a Stone Edge!"
"Drifblim use Spit up!"
Gliscor managed to hit, as the stockpiled energy flew towards him.
"Gliscor bounce out of the way!"
Gliscor slammed his tail on the ground propelling him above the oncoming attack.
"Now use Fire Fang!"
"Drifblim use Shadow Ball!"
Gliscor took the Shadow Ball head on, but his Fire Fang was to much for the weakened Drifblim.
"Drifblim return. Come on out Frosslass!"
"Gliscor use Fire Fang!"
"Frosslass use Ice Beam!"
The Ice Beam hit Gliscor's wing sending it spinning to the ground.
"Now use Shadow Ball!"
"Gliscor get out of there and use Steel Wing!"
As Gliscor was recovering, he was knocked back down.
"Now finish him with another Ice Beam!"
Gliscor's defeat was quick. Ash needed to think quick to beat this trainer at his own game, and no one does quick like Pikachu.
"Pikachu I choose you!"
"Froslass use Shadow Ball!"
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"
Pikachu's Thunderbolt easily dispersed the oncoming Ice Beam, striking the Frosslass hard.
"Frosslass use Psychic!"
"Pikachu use Quick Attack!"
Pikachu dodged the onslaught, running right through the Frosslass.
"Come on that's common knowledge, a normal type attack can't hurt a ghost type." Sam gloated.
"Who said that was the attack? Now Pikachu use Iron Tail!"
Frosslass was flung into a wall, defeated.
"Lucky shot, but you'll need more than luck for my next ghost. Come on out Spiritomb!"
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"
"Spiritomb use Dark Pulse!"
Pikachu hit the center stone, before being thrown back from the Spiritomb's attack.
"Pikachu get up and use Discharge!"
"Spiritomb use Phantom Force!"
As the Spiritomb disappeared back into its stone, electricity crackled all around.
"Pikachu get ready for it to come back up!" Ash said.
"Now Spiritomb!"
Pikachu was again knocked off of his feet from the attack.
"Pikachu come on back. Let's try something a bit different." Ash said holding up a Pokeball. "Come on out Infernape!"
"Spiritomb use Ominous Wind!"
"Infernape use Flamethrower!"
Infernapes flames shot straight through the attack, engulfing the Spiritomb. The wind striking Infernape as well.
"Spiritomb use Dark Pulse!"
"Infernape use Flamethrower again!"
Once again the flames shot through the attack, while Infernape was still hit.
"Infernape keep using Flamethrower!"
"Spiritomb finish this with Psychic!"
Ash smirked as Infernape was knocked off of his feet. It would take a bit more than that to take out the fire type, but it was just what he needed. Infernape rose up enraged, flames growing wildly.
"Now Infernape use Flare Blitz!"
"Spiritomb use Dark Pulse!"
It was no use as Infernape charged eighth through the attack, slamming into Spiritomb, knocking it out.
"Infernape! Come here." Ash said digging through his bag. "Sorry to put you through blaze." Ash apologized using a Hyper Potion.
Infernape smiled, and hugged Ash. He knew he could always count on this trainer to take care of him during and after a battle no matter what. Ash looked down at his phone to see his number rise to 247.
"Almost there." Ash said energetically. "Come on we should get back to Goh and Chloe."
Back with the Torterra
"I spy with my little eye." Goh said.
"It's a Torterra." Chloe replied a bit annoyed.
They had barely moved, and were understandably bored.
"Fine your turn to find something to do to pass the time." Goh said.
"No need, I think they're moving." Chloe said, bracing herself.
The Torterra began a full on charge up the mountain heading for who knows where.
"Star!" A Staraptor cried out, as Ash caught up to them.
"So what's I miss?" Ash asked.
"The start of them moving." Goh responded.
"We still don't know where we're going though." Chloe said.
A while later, the heard started turning into a cave entrance heading down into the mountain.
"Chloe you did research on this mountain, where are we going?" Goh asked.
"Goh this is a mountain range, I did research on the peak!" Chloe retorted.
"Guys it's getting warm." Ash pointed out.
"Not more lava." Chloe complained.
"It's not lava." Goh said, looking at where they were. A natural underground hot spring.
"The Torterra must come here to relax. They probably migrate." Chloe said, in amazement.
"I say we let Torterra enjoy the soak, and then head back, this is quite the cool find." Ash said.
