Day 88: Starday the 15th, Kuthona, 4707

Savah was up again today, almost glowing when she woke me up. I saw her in the morning light and she seemed happier than I had seen her in a while. I got up and we had breakfast together, with her having a simple apple cider that wasn't hard. Savah told me that she had something to tell me tonight, but that she had to check something to make sure. I asked her if she needed me to do anything to help, and she shook her head, noting that she just needed to make sure that everything was right first. I told her that I'd help out however I could, that all she needed to do was ask. Just then we heard a knock coming from the garage.

After a second, Savah remembered that today as the day that Sheriff Hemlock was going to pick up his bike. I hurriedly got dressed in my armor (thank you spellcasting!) and ran downstairs. True to form, Sheriff Hemlock was there and wanted to see his new bike. I took him into the workshop, and it was fully assembled. Veronica and Igor were working on another pair of revolvers, one each for Oren and Arika. Sheriff Hemlock and I both pushed the bike out the workshop door and he sat down on it.

I gave him a run thru of the capabilities of the bike, including the modified lights, the stun baton charger holster, and his new firearm. Sheriff Hemlock noted that he had never used one of these before, and I told him that I would be glad to teach him. He held the revolver in his hand and said that it did feel like it fit. I told him how he had a selection of rounds to choose from, and showed him how to load them and unload them. I went back inside and Savah was standing in the workshop. I asked her if she wanted to get some target practice in with her Nagant, and she said that she'd love to.

We all hopped on our individual bikes and took off at a decent pace, similar to a trotting horse. Sheriff Hemlock asked if this was as fast as the bikes could go, and Savah told him that it wasn't even close. We all started going faster on the Lost Coast Road to an area where we were relatively safe from annoying the populace of Sandpoint. I set up a backdrop of a three-foot-thick wall of packed earth and a few simple targets, and demonstrated to the Sheriff how to use his new gun. He took to it very quickly. Savah had went off a distance and started plinking away, improving on her accuracy greatly.

After a few hours, we decided to head back. Sheriff Hemlock was slowly getting the hang of all of this new stuff. While we rode back, Sheriff Hemlock asked me if I ever thought that Sandpoint would ever be the same again. I told him that I couldn't specifically say, but that if it were up to me, Sandpoint would become a better place to live, as long as I can keep working towards that. He nodded and we rode back to the town. He pulled up to the rudimentary gate that I had set up on the road heading out from the Tanner bridge and noted to us that he was going to have to add another post for the guards, with a smile. The good Sheriff wished us a good night and he headed off, and Savah and I went home.

I checked in on Veronica and Igor, and they were happily working away on the two revolvers for Oren and Arika. I figured that they would be done by the end of the day, and I went to check in with Savah. She was in her store, basically just tidying up. She had been having a pretty good week so far, so I would guess that she wasn't stressing. I smiled and got back to the workshop. I figured that I would finish up on the plans for the University that I was planning. Granted, this wasn't any university that I was used to seeing back where I am from, but it would definitely be a start. I mean the entire town was smaller than most universities from back there, but getting a start with the right foundation is the important part.

What I eventually ended up with is something of an interesting dilemma. I had originally thought about that I would put all of the lodgings on one floor, with the workshops and classrooms below them. Then I realized that it would be better to have the lodging, classroom, and workshop for a single block on every floor with some associated rooms for each. I put a bedroom and office for the teacher that I would eventually find for each core competency as well. Four Classrooms, one each for Math, Chemistry, Physics, and Geological Sciences, and a Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, and Kinetics workshop. I feel that this will give a good start to the study of science.

After a few hours, I notice that Savah has snuck up behind me and is looking over the designs. She noted that this would be the building with the most floors in Sandpoint. I nodded and noted that it would require stronger building materials, rather than wood. Savah noted that it would also take a long time to build. I agreed again and said that I expected it to take at least two years to build when everything was all said and done. Savah added that we would have to get builders and such from Magnimar, as we didn't have local talent here in Sandpoint. I agreed with her and noted that it would just increase the amount of time it would take to get the building made. Savah hugged me and asked if I had any plans for the night.

I thought about it, and replied that I'd just really like to spend some time with her. Savah hugged me and said that we could just kick back and watch a movie. I told her that we could check in to what I have and find something new. Savah said that we could just watch the Princess Bride again. I smiled and said that would be okay with me. I gave the twins their marching orders for the night and we headed upstairs. I made a quick dinner for us and set up the projector in our common room. We get changed into our pajamas and have a nice night together.
