I've written a new story called 'The Chosen Few'. It's a fantasy story about eight chosen ones fighting against the Old God of Darkness. The main couple is MarcoxAce, with side couples such as LawxLuffy, ZoroxSanji and NamixVivi. It's based off the Vampire AU in my story collection, with Marco as a Vampire, and Ace as a Hunter. So feel free to take a look if you're interested :D
(Carrier AU)
"You did amazingly well, Ace. Your baby is perfectly healthy, which I have to admit my surprise considering all the stress you've been put through," Sam said, smiling. "It looks like you're about seventeen to eighteen weeks in, and you're both doing really good."
Ace grinned. "Guess we've got a strong baby on our hands, right Marco?"
"Guess so yoi," Marco chuckled.
"I managed to get a look at the gender. Would you like to know?" Sam asked.
Ace tilted his head. "I'm not sure, having a surprise sure does sound fun."
"True, besides," Sam grinned. "If you change your mind you can simply ask me."
"A surprise sounds good then yoi," Marco agreed. "Though that's going to drive our siblings nuts."
"That makes it even more fun!" Ace laughed, and Marco's eyes instantly softened, filled with fondness. It made Ace relax against him.
"Well, I think you're okay to head outside the medical bay then," Sam said. "Just take it nice and easy. You're off duty, so all you need to do is relax, and try not get overwhelmed by everyone throwing love at you."
"Oh jeez," Ace winced. "Is it really going to be that bad?"
"Ace, day or night, there have been people sitting outside my doorway, clogging up my medical bay," Sam complained. "I've had to chase them off with a broom stick, coaxed in haki, and I get hissed at for it."
Funnily enough, he could picture Haruta hissing at a broom, before bolting. The thought made Ace chuckle.
"Okay, well I better get this over and done with then," Ace said.
"Or you could stay in here until night, then I can sneak you out yoi," Marco said, tensing. "I could take you straight to our nest, and then none of our siblings could go near you. You'd be safe and snuggled, you'd like that, right?"
Ace snorted. "Marco, how long have you been worried about this for?"
"People swarming you?" Sam raised a brow. "Since the moment you told him about the baby."
Ace sighed, planting a kiss on Marco's cheek. "We better see them sooner rather than later, otherwise some of our siblings might go crazy. Pops might end up with a mutiny."
Marco groaned.
Ace grinned, and slowly eased himself out of bed, rubbing his belly in soothing circles. Marco's hand joined his, and Ace felt so happy, because Marco looked entranced, stroking his stomach carefully. Ace grinned, and kissed Marco's nose, who nuzzled his cheek in return.
"Your beautiful, Ace."
Ace flushed. Together, hand in hand, they slowly made their way out of the infirmary. Hundreds of eyes instantly landed on them, and Marco scowled. A herd of siblings began to swarm towards them, all screaming Ace's name, but Sam was there first. She stood between them, like a shield, or more like a spear.
"HOLD IT!" she barked.
Their siblings all skidded to a stop. As well as the Commanders who had been in the crowd.
"You are all going to be calm and settled," Sam ordered sharply. "Do not raise your voices. Don't make any demands. Act like adults, otherwise Commander Marco has permission to toss every single one of your asses into the sea while I lock Commander Ace away from you all again. Do I make myself clear?"
A chorus of 'yes ma'am' rang through the deck.
Sam smiled sweetly, and turned to face them. "Now, Ace. Make sure to remember to take it easy. You're pregnant, and if anyone bothers you, just say. Commander Marco has given his express consent for his Division to handle anyone who is stressing you out."
Ace laughed softly. "I'll be fine, Sam, but thanks."
"We've set up a more comfortable spot in the cafeteria if you want to sit in there," Izo suggested as he approached. "Pops is already in there."
Ace grinned. "Yeah, that sounds good."
A thick cushioned chair had been sat out for him at a table filled with food. Another table next to it was buried in presents, all wrapped up, some messily, and some so gorgeous that only Izo or his division could have done it.
Marco immediately had Ace sitting down, much to his despair. Pops chuckled, ruffling his hair affectionately.
"Guararara, fed up already, son?"
"I don't have to be sitting down every second," Ace huffed.
Marco only kissed him sweetly in response, before pulling away, sitting down next to him. That earned several protests from their siblings, but Marco's glare made them retreat.
Ace snorted, and reached out for some apple juice.
It was going to be a chaotic day.
He ate as much as he wanted, before opening up the presents. He got hundreds of baby clothes, enough for a baby army, and he had no idea where he'd put them all. Ace got chocolates, fruits, luxury bath sets, massage oils, and some weird 'c' shaped pillow.
"It's apparently very comfortable for pregnant people," Pops shrugged.
He'd had to try that out later. Ace especially loved the chalkboard signs. It was colourful and pretty, and a large space for a number to go in to count how many days were left until the baby was due. It was agreed by everyone that they'd keep the large version in the dining hall, while the small desk sized one could stay in Ace and Marco's room.
He remained contently by Marco's side for the entire day, even as all their siblings partied. Marco chased anyone off who asked to touch Ace's stomach with a glare full of venom. Only those Ace offered to let feel were allowed, very reluctantly.
So all the former Spades and Pops.
Normally the other Commanders would have been allowed to join in, but they had been arguing over who touched his stomach first and Marco ended up booting half of them off the ship.
"I'm happy to be home," Ace smiled, snuggling further into Marco's side.
Marco kissed his hair. "And I'm happy you both got back home safely."
