It was one week later, and Olivia's heart was still racing and her palms were sweating. This was not a dream. She was surrounded by people she saw every week on TV. Most of the cast were friendly. She talked more with the crew than her new coworkers. Career wise, she had more in common with them. She waited in the makeup trailer, rollers in her hair and a script in her hand. Fitz, Amelia and Karen were at the hotel. Olivia was leaning on her mom until she figured out how to manage her new schedule. Maya was grading her assignments. She didn't complain about her extra workload. The babies were still in the hospital. Olivia had a few lines. The scenes were mostly her standing around looking pretty. Next week, there would be a confrontation with Olivia and the wife. She would have to memorize pages of lines, and she was in almost every scene. In the prior episodes, the mistress wasn't revealed. The show was very fast paced.
"Someone is here to see you."
Olivia looked up from the script at the person speaking. The staff had so many titles she couldn't keep up with. Olivia guessed the lady was a production assistant. Fitz was standing next to the lady with Amelia and Karen.
"You've been here all day. It's 8:00."
"I know. I have to get used to these really long days."
"How much longer do you have to be on the set?"
"I have one more scene. It has to be filmed outside at night. I'm waiting to be called."
"Amelia is asking for you."
"Where is she?"
"Right outside with Karen."
"You left them outside?"
Fitz opened the curtain. Amelia was standing close to the steps. Karen was sleeping in her car seat.
"These trailers are tiny. I know your manager, or whoever makes the rules around here doesn't want your fiancé and kids in the makeup trailer."
"I will be finished with my scenes really soon. You could have stayed at the hotel."
"Are we making the right decision?"
"You wanted to come to Los Angeles, Fitz."
"I want you to have your dream job Livvie. How are we going to balance everything?"
"I don't know."
Fitz shrugged his shoulders and stepped aside when the crew let Olivia know they had to do her makeup now.
"When is mom leaving the trailer?" Amelia asked.
"A few more hours."
